Doordashed an order for myself and went inside to pick it up, Sofia was very friendly and quickly helped me get my order in no time and informed me about their app which was awesome!! Now the food I ordered a power veggie salad and it was delicious, I just wish I had gotten extra avacado because it was by far the best avacodo I have ever eaten, Everything else was great my only complaint was that the fruit cup I ordered mentioned Strawberries, pineapple, melon, and grapes however I only received the pineapple and the melon which was a bit dissapointing. What kind of sandwich place only carries 2 steak sandwiches? This one. What kind of sandwich place only carries ciabatta bread as a choice? This one. Which sandwich place doesn't read the orders placed when you say no coleslaw and have allergies to it? This lazy ass one. I'll stick to Jersey Mikes or some mom and pop place they at least pay attention to what you ordered vs forcing their disgusting creations on you. Not only did they add coleslaw when i ordered it without they also gave me a salad when i ordered chips. Attempting to pick the coleslaw off the sandwich was useless too because it was melted into the cheese and i lost most of the sauce. To top it off the cost is ridiculous at like 12 a sandwich for what could be compared to a 6 in sub at competitors! What a waste of money and time. Never again. read more

I ordered the California Vegetarian Sandwich. The side salad was absolutely incredible. Seriously the best side salad ever. The bread was fantastic! Really fresh veggies. But the sandwhich itself fell short. It has raw mushrooms (instead of cooked mushrooms) and HUGE chunks of whole artichoke hearts. Generally I love sundried tomatoes and artichoke hearts together. But this wasn't great. Dont get me wrong, I still ate it. lol But definitely not my favorite veggie sandwich. Cook the mushrooms, cut up the artichokes hearts, (maybe get a higher quality of artichoke), and I would be sold. I'll update my review when/if I try another one of their vegetarian options. :) read more

We had a drive-by baby shower on Sunday 5/17. I placed an online order through Urbane Cafe for about 25 people for the friends and family that stuck around for the party. Not only is their website and catering/event side of the business extremely helpful but the staff at the local El Cajon location were so great too. I called the day before the party on Sunday to confirm our order and I spoke with Mark. He was super helpful and even allowed us to pick it up about 15min early so we could feed our guests on time. Everything was packaged great, perfect for a social distancing event, each sandwich was individually wrapped, the salads were amazing and it came with the right amount of utensils and plates and napkins. The food was one of the easier most organized parts of our party and I think Urbane Cafe for that. Definitely recommending this place to anyone who needs it and will definitely use them again for our next event. I got sandwiches for my family from here on Saturday (11/13) and everyone enjoyed them. I got my mother-in-law the Santa Maria BBQ Chicken and for my wife the Turkey Cranberry Brie. Both were hits. Don't see too many sandwich places that have brie but I know my wife likes it so I had to get it for her. I had the Turkey Club and I will say they use very good turkey; nice and juicy. What I appreciate the most is that their website allows you to customize your food, something that, for whatever reason, some restaurant websites and apps refuse to allow (looking at you, Einstein's Bagels). This is so important because it allows me to have them leave off the cheese for my lactose intolerant mother-in-law and the arugula for my wife who just doesn't like arugula. And since I do like arugula I was able to trade my lettuce for it which I appreciated. All in all a nice experience. If I have to ding them for anything, I was a little confused as to why choosing chips or fruit instead of side salad had an upcharge, and my salad was severely lacking in the feta cheese. That said, next time I'm in El Cajon I will definitely consider them for lunch or dinner. read more

I was so excited that El Cajon finally has some more healthier options to eat at but this place has disappointed me twice! Today I called them to put in a take out order and this girl answers and asks to put me on hold I say yes and then I'm sitting there waiting 14 mins on hold until I decide to hang up, mind you I was on my lunch break so that just wasted my time. Stopped by for the first time today because my pregnant self has been craving a delicious, big, juicy sandwich lately and I couldn't have made a better decision! The tri-tip sandwich was so freaking good and had just the right amount of heat to it! A side salad is included and their Shirley Temple is super yummy, although really sweet. Also, shoutout to Julia because she was walking around making sure every customer was taken care of, she talked with me for a couple of minutes and in general, she just really wanted to make sure her customers were good. First time here and instantly impressed after the first bite! Cilantro Chicken Torta had a great flavor and a good kick to it. The BBQ Tri-Tip sandwich was tasty and filling, with a nice apple coleslaw inside to give it a sweet taste. The bread for both sandwiches tasted fresh, moist, and fluffy. Ordered cookies, however the selection was limited because we went near closing time. The lemon white chocolate was a standout and will for sure be ordering again. Also had the chocolate chip cookie which was moist in the center and an excellent finish to the meal. To top it off the staff was very welcoming and provided quick and efficient service. Needless to say, we were definitely satisfied, and are looking forward to trying other items on the menu. read more
