I had a So Cal Sandwich which came with avocado, pepper jack cheese, roasted chicken, greens, a chipotle aioli, and a tomatillo salsa for $12.25 plus tax. The sandwich was pretty good, but I was disappointed that they used a guacamole in lieu of freshly sliced avocado. It would have made a huge difference in a good way. If I would have known, I would have ordered something else. The menu should say smashed avocado, not just avocado. Any-who, the roasted chicken was good, but a little hard to distinguish, because they went a little heavy on the tomatillo sauce. The bread was good as usual. The hospitality was friendly and the service good. The only thing is they need to stay on top of cleaning their tables off. I had to clean my own table before seating. It was not a big deal, I can handle it but just an observation. 3.5 Stars. read more

So happy Urbane has a location in Point Loma. My go to for years has been the Pesto and sun-dried tomato sandwich. Sometimes if I'm feeling wild, I'll add avocados or artichoke. I love dipping my sandwich in the balsamic vinegar salad dressing. The cookies are so good. I like the chocolate chip or the triple chocolate and the added bonus is you get them hot! I never get a drink but at this location I wandered over the drink fountain and saw they had fountain Shirley Temple. Ugggh it was soooo good. Shirley Temple is my absolute favorite soda and I've never seen it as a fountain drink. Service is always great here. The place is super bright and clean. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

I loved this place! The spot they have is super bright and has nice high ceilings. The food is healthy and tasty! They have a fun array of craft soda drinks to try and lemonade/limade/agua Fresca. In terms of the food, I tried the pesto and sun dried tomato chicken sandwich. The bread was tasty and fluffy and the sandwich was super flavorful. I loved the sun dried tomato sauce and pesto sauce combined together, and there was a good amount of chicken added in too! The cookies are kept warm and fresh at the front. We tried the triple chocolate cookie which was very tasty! The chocolate was gooey and the edge was crispy! Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of their menu! read more

Urbane Cafe on W Point Loma Bl in the Midway area opened over a month ago but it was my first time here and ever in any Urbane Cafes, as there are other locations throughout SD. Plenty of free parking in the lot. There's outdoor and since the interior dining appeared to be clean, so I decided to dine in and sat in a booth with a view of a sunny SD day. You can place your order with a cashier or via tablet. The cashier wasn't friendly and I felt rushed during my ordering process. In fact, the male customer ahead of me felt rushed and pressured to hurry he let me order ahead of him. It was a good thing I already knew what I wanted or I would feel rushed and pressured too...not a good start. I suggest ordering and using the tablet so you're not pressured but the grumpy cashier who needs more customer service training. The salmon bowl I ordered: no rice, extra edamame, kale, sweet potato and focaccia bread with dressing on the side. It was presented in a ceramic bowl which was the perfect size, plenty of room, and the food doesn't fall off the bowl. For utensils only plastic forks :( eww! Just when I thought it was going ok, the PLASTIC fork ruined it for me....I have to say, the 'Bane of my Existence.' If they can serve with ceramic bowls, they can serve with silverware forks! The salmon bowl was just okay, next time I would skip on the sweet potatoes, it was too much, would rather have more of the kale, edamame or other ingredients. Most of the selections on the menu are on the healthy side options. In this area of fast food places, this cafe is a great addition. Urbane Cafe was amazingly delicious! I got the Salmon Bowl with Wild Rice, Sweet Potatoes and Kale. I ordered extra bread on the side with dipping sauce. My Hubby got Chimichurri Steak Sandwich with side salad as well as a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was Fresh and so Fulfilling! I really enjoyed every bite. So I have been a big fan of Urbane Cafe since they opened a few months ago. I've eaten there multiple times, and I usually get the same thing... a Baja bowl. Today, I noticed that my takeout bowl was lighter and smaller than it has been in the past & the piece of focaccia was also quite small compared to previous servings. I hope that this is a one-off occurrence, and portions will get back to their normal consistency, because the portions were fairly compact to begin with... I also noticed that my bowl was more lightly sauced than usual, so the flavor of my bowl was quite light. Urbane cafe hired the right employees as everyone was friendly and polite tonight. It really makes a difference with a server who smiles vs someone who is very nonchalant and very flat effect. (I know it seems like I'm asking for too much from the world ‍) First time coming into Urbane Cafe and I am definitely pleased and I will return. I ordered a Chicken Spaetzle and I thought it tasted great. It has gnocchi Instead of noodles. I can't speak for the crunchy peanut salad since I haven't ate it yet but serving seems to be great for the price of $12.95 I was given a choice to get a cook since they were almost closing. New restaurant in Point Loma District! The restaurant has tons of windows and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Booths are comfortable and staff are friendly. High ceilings and lots of space between seats. Food came out quickly and was plated beautifully. Took about 10 minutes to get our order. Peanut salad was crunchy, tangy delish with lots of arugula, and served with a very light peanut dressing. The salmon bowl, I'm told, was yummy! They serve craft soda and juices. I am a huge fan of Urban Cafe and used to regularly have lunch at a different location when I was nearby. I was excited for the opening of this location as it is very convenient for me. So far I have I have been there twice, both getting takeout for my husband and myself. The place is new and very clean. When you walk in, you can see fresh cookies and bread. There is plenty of easy parking in a large lot, though it gets a little crowded at busy shopping center times. The first time, I tried a new sandwich: the sweet chili chicken crunch sandwich. I am a fan. I liked the tangy flavors and crunchy vegetables. The second time, I chose the salmon bowl, which came with a piece of fresh bread on the side. It was pretty good, but so far I think that I like their sandwiches more than the bowls. I think the flavors just come together better in their sandwiches rather than bowls. Both times, the service was very friendly. However, the first time, they were not busy and they took quite a while to get to me to take my order. The second time, they also were not busy. My order was taken right away, but the amount of time waiting for it to be prepared felt a bit excessive. All in all, I really enjoy the food at Urbane Cafe. First time at this new location in Point Loma. I have been going to the Napa Street location for many years and have really enjoyed the food and the prices and the quality and the quantity. Today was an abnormally warm day in winter and it was nice and pleasant and air conditioned when we stepped inside at noon time on a Saturday. It was very quiet and we ordered at the kiosk and waited about 10 minutes for our food to arrive. My friend tried the new Barramundi specialty fish sandwich with coleslaw and tartar sauce, and pickled onions. she really enjoyed it and ate the whole thing. It also included a side salad with their fresh ranch dressing. All their salad dressings are made homemade on site and they are very delicious. I had my salmon bowl with edamame and sweet potatoes and rice and kale with a side of bread and the delicious sauce on top. I noticed that the quantity was not as much as usual because in the past I have had to take some of it home and I enjoy having some leftovers. Today there were no leftovers so I was a little bit disappointed about the quantity. Other than that, the service was great And the place was spotless and the employees came to check on us a few times and we had a great experience. I hope Urbane café doesn't begin to skimp on their ingredients like so many restaurants have. Then it won't seem as reasonable as it used to be. read more

I loved my sandwich so much! Their house made focaccia bread had the perfect texture and warmth to it. The sun dried tomatoes were also a nice sweet touch. My mom got the seared ahi tuna bowl which she said was delicious. The man who took our order was very nice and helpful and allowed us to make substitutions and exclude things from our order. Like letting me take out the veganaise from my sandwich and substituting my side salad for fruit.
