I came in with my coworker. He has told me it's his favorite sandwich place in OB. They found out it was my first time there. They made me an OB Italian Special! I watched him work their magic as he made my sandwich. The attention to detail was amazing! They mixed the sauce throughout the toppings. The sandwich was toasted! The sandwich was beyond amazing! Tasted beyond expectation! As for the shop itself, well, they have a liquor collection that makes anyone drool! They also have a cigar collection that will cover your needs! Torpedo, sub, hoagie...whichever pleases you, this is the spot for it! In my opinion, there's nothing better than eating a good sub sandwich on the beach and that's exactly what I went looking for today. I ordered on DoorDash and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the perfectly sealed paper bag to find a hefty sized, meticulously wrapped sub with a Boars Head sticker on it. I worked in a sub shop for the majority of my adolescence and can attest that any deli using Boars Head is investing in high quality. I got the Pesto Turkey with provolone, lettuce, tomato, mayo: 5/5, absolutely delicious with perfect portions of fillings to bread and the moistest turkey. & the Italian Sub with provolone, lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard and jalapeño: 3/5, I went against my better judgment going with their standard combo of mayo and mustard but it was admittedly too much that took away from the meat/cheese. The jalapeños also definitely packed a punch. Subs of such high quality, I would keep the toppings simple to really appreciate the sub itself unless you really really just want to taste the toppings. read more

This was a pleasant surprise to see inside a liquor store. We saw the set up for sandwiches and dove in. We were right to do so because the sandwich was smacking. They were all so nice in there too!! I'm torn on this place.. sometimes it's great, and sometimes it's mid. One time they forgot the chicken on my southwest chicken salad, another time they didn't- but there were raisins on there.. which may be in the description, but just seems weird. Sometimes the Italian sub is amazing, sometimes it doesn't have enough meat... Their bread is consistently yummy, I'll give em that- especially the sourdough, and the French roll. I've liked the Del Mar and Brighton Ave sandwiches... I'd say to go ahead and give this place a shot, but the quality of your sandwich might depend on who's working that day. read more

We ventured here after my girlfriend A from volleyball kept raving about the sandwiches here. Granted I also had tasted their italian sandwich, which she had shared with me another time, and I was already sold. OB Deli is located inside OB Quick Liquor. If you walk straight in, the deli's located at the end. There were so many choices to choose from that you may take a moment to think, "Hrmm...what is it that I want?" My other half and I shared a 'Lotus St Sandwich.' The Lotus St Sandwich consists of a 1/2 pound of meat lover's dream, filled with roast beef, ham, and Ovengold® turkey with both Swiss & cheddar cheese. Sandwich made with Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Onions. We chose sourdough bread and then went with their secret sauce. They accepted us showing them the Yelp Check in, which I think was 10% off. We bought the sandwich, and walked back to the beach where we were playing volleyball with the Sunday meetup group. Once we sat down opened the sandwich, gave each other both a half, we took a bite and inhaled it. I would be down to go there again to get another sandwich! I've been going to this place for a while now. They always have good service and they make really good sandwiches. Today we stopped by on our way to the beach to grab something quick and light. There needs to be a sixth star for this review. I honestly can't recall when I had a sando this good, but it was probably in NY. This is the Lotus St. on a wheat roll. Absolutely perfect proportions and flavor balance. It looks like a monster but was still light, not a brick. My gal had the BLT, of matching quality. What a fantastic find! Was in need of a hearty sandwich and didn't want to move my car to drive since parking is a beast in OB in summer ... stumbled across this place and voila! Perfect sandwich. We were looking for a new sandwich shop and we may have found it. He chose the "Muir Ave": Roast Beast, Sprouts, Pepperoncini, Swiss Cheese... plus the veggie add ins and mustard, mayo, vinegar & oil, salt & pepper on a French Roll. I chose the "Santa Monica Ave": a huge veggie sandwich with half an Avocado sliced thinly, and spread across a Squaw Roll. Plus the veggie add ins and finished with mustard, mayo, vinegar & oil, and ground pepper. We also got a container of potato salad with two forks, a good amount of napkins, and a 15% first-time discount popped up for checking in with Yelp. We took our sandwiches over to the Cliffs, where we had a nice impromptu picnic dinner with a view and sound of the ocean. Plenty of sandwich, fresh ingredients, and the potato salad had just enough sweetness to it. We will definitely do this again. 05/21 ETA: Late afternoon, we split a "Cable St."; a triple-decker on MARBLED RYE (my fave!) w/turkey, bacon, provolone, and avocado and the above add ins. Had the rye bread toasted too. Perfect. I love this one. I'm definitely hooked! Also a container of the potato salad again: it is sweet, a little tart, a little mustardy, and very creamy. read more

Very disappointed in delivery order. Requested a dry sandwich with extra meat and cheese only. Came loaded with condiments and all vegetables. Was unable to eat due to food allergies. It's located inside a convenience store but don't let that throw you off. In fact, embrace it. Browse their amazing craft beer selection, the bottles on bottles of wine, and snag a few snacks or everyday necessities. Then, stop at the deli counter and prepare to be amazed! You'll be greeted by an always friendly employee and a massive menu of some amazing sandwich creations. Don't let it overwhelm you. Go with your gut and pick one because, no matter which one you pick, it'll be amazing, I promise! I always get the Newport which has turkey, bacon and cheese. I add some of my favorite veggies and go for the roll every time. was established in Aug 17th, 2015. Locally owned Deli to replace Subway by Bobby the owner of OB Quik Stop Liquor & Market. Bobby has been in Ocean Beach for more than 25 years! Serving this beautiful and peaceful neighborhood. After 10 years of having Subway Bobby was offered to take over Subway but he refused the offer and instead he decided to establish a new locally owned deli that serves Boar's Head Premium Deli Meats & Cheeses.
