I have eaten at this establishment before and remembered how tasty the meal was. I ordered the Seabass with the seasonal veggies. The flavors were all there perfectly cooked perfectly seasoned. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich and he enjoyed it. My husband ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich I took a bite and it was yummy as well. Our food was brought out in a timely fashion, and Annie surprised us with some freshly baked cookies. We really appreciate the kind gesture. I can always count on Tender Greens for a delicious, healthy meal. Sometimes I get it to-go for a picnic in Liberty station, or eat here for an event nearby. Kaleesi, the cashier, is always nice and patient...and there everytime I have been there over the years. You order at the counter and take a number to a table. They have an open kitchen and the kids like to watch their food being made. Somehow the portions seem smaller. Called in order to go Gentleman was very nice. Food was ready when we arrived plenty of parking or places to dine in or on patio. We ordered sea bass with roasted vegetables with Sushi rice. Chipotle chicken with Caesar salad and roasted potatoes. They have changed the recipe with the potatoes and I wouldn't recommend it. You order at the register, take a number and food brought out to you. I sat outside and about 10min later, my lunch arrived. Thanks goodness I always ask for any kind of dressing on the side because this dressing while very tasty was also very spicy. I wish it was just a tad less spicy as my mouth was on fire and I only poured in about a quarter of what was given. The vegetables were fresh and tasty, rice was very moist and you can taste the coconut too. Grill shrimp was fresh and perfect. Overall, an excellent lunch! Prices are higher than I would like to spend for casual lunch but not much I can do about that. Not sure what happened to this place. It's only hit or miss now but last 3 times have all been misses. I don't think we will be back. We come here almost 1-2x a month. I order the avocado blt. It was swimming in some pesto sauce and only 3 little pieces of avocado. One half of the sandwich didn't have any avocado on it. I swear I can still taste that pesto is was so potent and overpowered the entire sandwich. It was super greasy too which made no sense. Asked for veggies on the side...never received the veggies. I get verbally love Tender Greens....this was my first time at this location in Liberty Station. I usually get the same thing because it's BOMB - the Mediterranean Steak Salad but this was the first time I didn't love it. It had way way too much dressing which was overpowering the other flavors. I'm not sure if the lettuce was wilted or if it was the dressing that made it so soft. I have not had this issue at any other location so I would be willing to come back and try again and am only knocking one star because I don't think that experience was the norm. When we walked in, there was an advertisement for a hamburger they were offering, so my dad ordered that. It was a little small and didn't come with any sides, but he was satisfied with it. It wasn't busy when I came so we ordered very quickly and easily. Very disappointing yesterday. It seems the whole menu has changed. The Mac and cheese was not what it used to be like at all. The steak was mediocre at best. I got mashed potatoes, was not offered gravy. When I went in the cashier had forgotten I had already paid and tried to charge me for gravy. Lunch with coworkers on Tuesday afternoon a little after 12ish. You walk up to the counter and order your meal and they give you a number to place on your table. Came for a late lunch after our Sunday church and a walk along the esplanade at liberty Station, so we were mighty hungry. I couldn't make up my mind what to order so I went with my standard favorite of the tune on Nissan salad and it was as wonderful as usual and the tuna was in good quantity and cooked perfectly, and I felt quite satisfied with the quantity afterwards my husband ordered the steak plate with salad and mashed potatoes, and I couldn't get a picture of it because he was so hungry that it was almost done by the time I started my meal and took pictures of our food. He is rarely full after he finishes a meal here, even though he liked his meal. I inquired of our server what the most filling meal was for my husband and she suggested he tried the longevity bowl with the Seabass next time because that is quite filling or the longevity bowl with Katsu chicken. We will definitely take that under advisement for the future. I only gave it four stars because of the lack of quantity for the plated meal, but the service was great and the quality of the food was also wonderful no complaints there. We spent $38 for the two of us and you could decide whether or not that is reasonable. One of my go-to lunch spots in Liberty Station! The Pacific Bowl with salmon is my favorite, along with their green pozole soup. Their plates are also great with a protein and choice of 2 sides. You really can't go wrong here. There is typically street parking out front even around lunchtime. After a late afternoon Flagship harbor cruise, it was time for dinner, and we decided to go to Liberty Station and decide where to eat once we got there. Knowing there was a Slaters 50/50, I set the GPS navigation to get there from Downtown San Diego. Once we arrived, I took a look at the list of places that were open on a Sunday afternoon. Among the various places was Tender Greens. We had eaten once before at their Irvine location, and it was very good. We weren't looking for anything heavy, so this seemed like a great choice to the four of us. And we weren't disappointed. I had the "Longevity Bowl" -- a nice combination of beluga lentils with a little bit of pears and fennel (not very distinguishable), roasted cauliflower and a few thin slices of fingerling purple potatoes, and a portion of arugala salad in a slightly sweet vinaigrette with pecorino cheese, plus a couple of tablespoons of smoked paprika lebni for dipping. I added the grilled salmon. It was as good as expected, although the lentils could have used a bit more fennel. The arugala was not bitter at all. My wife had the chicken pesto bowl. She enjoyed the combination of pasta, chicken, and pesto, but thought there was too much oil in the blend. She simply tilted her bowl and let the excess oil fall by the wayside. My son had the salt & pepper chicken with farro salad and mac n cheese. He wasn't too fond of the mac n cheese, but liked everything else. His girlfriend also had salt & pepper chicken with the arugala salad and seasonal veggies, and was very pleased with her choice. They live and work in Las Vegas, and had not been to Tender Greens before. We live in LA and would certainly return to this location when in San Diego again. read more

Our first time we door dashed. Unfortunately the restaurant gave the driver the wrong order. It was an Uber eats order for Will M. When ours was DoorDash for William W. Super similar looking names so I totally get the mix-up. It was just unfortunate because we were doing house maintenance all day and starving but my husband had to drive to the restaurant to pickup our actual order. We had the Mediterranean steak salad, chicken pesto salad, tender burger, the greens juice and mint lemonade. I really enjoyed the steak salad and all the fresh herbs in it. I think it's nice that the bread they give is sourdough. The chicken pesto sandwich. The chicken was super moist and juicy. The greens juice was good. Kind of watery from the ice melting but still good. The second time we dined in and had a really great experience. We had the short rib plate, chipotle barbecue chicken sandwich and bowl. Everything was so delicious - well seasoned. The short rib was soo soft and tender yet still juicy. Cooked perfectly. On top of that, someone even came to clear our plates and quality checked the food which was very nice. I believe his name was Jovan - he had above and beyond level of customer service. This was a nice option to have for a fresh and healthy salad. I purchased the harvest chicken. The salad had nice leafy greens, tender pieces of roasted chicken, sliced red grapes, slices of cooked squash, pepitas, and a nice vinaigrette dressing. I enjoyed everything except the skin on the squash. I would have preferred that it was removed so I didn't have to slice it off. It was not a big deal and I still ate it. The salad also came with a nice toasty, butter slice of bread. It was a perfect compliment of carbs to the salad. I also had the mint lemonade and it was refreshing. I came at 840 ish pm and it was already closing down. It took a couple servers to actually ring me up because some door dash guy was taking forever with an order. I think the service for him was exceptional as they seemed really nice about trying to resolve his issue. I quickly ordered the bbq chicken salad to go. I just got off a plane and wanted something green with protein. It was delicious. The place is clean and has everything. I think they offer real utensils for dine in and the server was conscientious enough to ask if I needed silverware which I did not. Very good food. I don't recall the last time i went there but i didnt remember or craved their food. I was meeting a friend for lunch at Liberty Station, and she suggested to go there because of more healthy options. We both ordered the ahi tuna with vegetables and sushi rice, and it was excellent, fresh and healthy. I dont like too much this type of huge impersonal type of restaurants and the wait but overall was pretty good, including the cool art in the wall and the free agua fresca for check-in with the Yelp app. read more
