Urbane Cafe is one of the best salad/sandwich restaurants I've tried! I ordered the Southwest Chicken Sandwich, which also comes with a side of salad. I'm not very keen on ordering salads when I go out to eat (Bc...I'm a CARNIVORE. Jkjk), however, their salads are D-E-Licious! It's so FRESH and filling by itself. They have mandarin slices, lettuce, spinach, etc. the olive oil and side of vinaigrette are perfect for flavoring, but not too strong that it overpowers it. Good stuff, babyyyy. As for the sandwiches, my boyfriend ordered the Pesto & Sundried Tomato Chicken Sandwich and I ordered the Southwest. Southwest Chicken Sandwich: Roasted Cajun chicken, avocado, corn and black bean salsa, pepper jack cheese, and roasted aioli Pesto & Sundried Tomato: Roasted pesto chicken, Sundried tomato, green leaf lettuce, mozzarella, and pesto aioli Since the sandwich (pretty good size!) is cut in half we traded half so we could taste both. Overall, I loved both! What made them standout more are the SAUCES you can order on the side! GET THEM! I think we got a chipotle sauce and it was amazing! Check out this place if you're hungry and want a HEALTHY meal. The price for our meal was around $8 each so $16 total, not too bad for high quality food. :) read more

Came here with the bf and a friend of ours after another long day at Magic Mountain. We were craving sammiches that were quick so we could start heading back to the Bay area. We came upon Urbane Cafe and were able to beat closing time. The cafe looks like it serves coffee, but it doesn't (at least I didn't see it on the menu). I ordered the Southwestern sandwich, and boy, was it good. The flatbread-like bread was soft, the chipotle sauce was spicy, the chicken was moist, and the corn and black bean salsa added a nice crunch that complemented the creaminess of the avocado. Completely obsessed with this place! I used to live right down the street from here, and boy was that dangerous. A good portion of my paychecks would go toward lunches here. I typically opt for the Italian Chicken sandwich which is superb! The handmade bread is to die for, the fresh non-fatty chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the cheese is perfectly melted. I absolutely LOVE the salad that they serve with their sandwiches, which tastes even better if you ask for Ranch dressing with the salad. I've lived in Santa Clarita for as long as I can remember, and most of the time I'd usually eat home cooked food. I'm used to things being natural, healthy, and DELICIOUS. Basically.. I'm picky. So when I stumbled upon Urbane Cafe back in high-school, I was so excited to try something healthy, delicious, and fresh. Throughout the years now I will occasionally crave for Urbane Cafe and their stone-oven baked fresh bread, I believe to be organic chicken??? And their SALAD ooo the salad. Keep in mind the ONLY sandwich I get there is the So-Cal sandwich with extra mandarine oranges on the side for the salad. Like that is my order ALL THE TIME. If you've read my heading, I'm not a salad person. When I've gone to Urbane, it's usually due to a luncheon request from a friend/colleague. Their salads are tasty and so are their sandwiches. My favorite is the Santa Maria BBQ chicken salad with a nice mix of veggies and they use a BBQ sauce & ranch combination for their dressing. I'm usually not a fan of ranch, but the addition of the BBQ sauce works well. What I dislike is the lack of seating. For a place that is so busy, they really should have more seats and another soda fountain. It feels really congested to go to the back area to pick up your order and then get your drink. Perhaps it's not always busy and I just happen to go during the lunch rush. If you're looking for a flavorful salad, I do recommend this place. read more

Although we have had 2 other bad experiences at this location, my wife and I were willing to give it another shot. Sadly this was a bad idea. I ordered a sandwich and my wife ordered a salad. Before I could even finish the first bite of my sandwich my wife had to spit out her food. To my disgust, there was a fingernail with a french tip in the bite she had to spit out. Sooo disgusting, I wanted to vomit. I got up and had to walk out. My wife asked for her money back and we left promptly. It didn't appear there was a manager on staff, but the employees cooperated and were apologetic. Why was a fingernail in the salad? Was it prepared before by someone not wearing gloves? After seeing the 4+ stars, we decided to try this place. The chicken club was good--not great, but good. The chimmichuri steak sandwich, however, (and this is a quote) "is nasty and tastes like a$$." While the bread was super tasty, and the balsamic dressing on the side salad was yummy, the meat itself was tough and stringy. On a positive note, the craft sodas were yummy. A young blonde woman was standing at the register...looked at us...didn't say a word - no "hello", "take your time"..."let me know when you're ready"...nothing....just stared at us. We figured out what we wanted and went up to the register and still...nothing. She just stared at us waiting for our order. We placed our order and barely got any words out of this chick. Just the basic..."nothing else?"..."drinks don't come with the meals"...that's about it. She really started out our very first visit here on a bad note. My husband and I each got a sandwich and salad comes with it. I have to say the bread used to make the sandwiches is really good. Other than that...it wasn't all that great. The steak on my husband's sandwich was pretty chewy. My chicken sandwich was decent but nothing special. We did order a few cookies and those were the highlight of our visit. They were warm and gooey and really delicious. I kinda wished we just used the gift card I had to buy all their cookies. No joke. So like I said...eh. My husband and I decided we most likely won't go back. If we're in the area...then I'll pop in to get some cookies (hopefully from a friendlier employee). read more
