We stopped here on a Thursday for lunch on our way from Orange County to Sonora. We found this on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. It's very close to the 5 freeway in a nice shopping area. We love that we could order it online and that it was ready for pick up when we arrived. We ordered the barbecue tri-tip sandwich to split with barbecue kettle chips and two cookies - - the dark chocolate cookie and the cranberry white chocolate cookie. The sandwich meat was tender and the sauce gave it a lot of flavor. Both of the cookies were tasty, we would get them again or maybe try the chocolate chip cookie. The prices are very reasonable $9.49 to $10.95 for sandwiches/salads. The ingredients taste fresh and the meals are filling but your not stuffed. I ordered the BBQ Tri Tip Sandwich which comes with a side salad. I also got their chewy oatmeal cookie. They load on the tri tip which I love and the slaw mixed with the right amount of BBQ sauce so it's not over powering. The cookie, taste like heaven. They are fresh baked and they are chewy and soft. We did enjoy our cilantro chicken salad and California sandwich, but the amount of plastic this restaurant wastes is very off putting and irresponsible. They have a large amount of to-go orders daily, each item individually packed in plastic with sauces in smaller plastic containers inside, plastic utensils automatically included, all wrapped in a plastic bag. It's funny - their branded plastic containers say "Be an Inspiration: Recycle" on them. That puts the responsibility on the consumer, when in reality it should be on the business to do more to be more environmentally aware and active in their decision making. I would gladly pay a little more to have paper bags at the very least ?! Other restaurants use compostable materials with similar pricing. I've always loved Urbane and usually end up ordering the same thing every time...the salmon bowl. It's usually perfect and delicious. I love the combination of flavors. Unfortunately, last night was a different story. The salmon was dried out and the bowl was about 75% rice and potatoes. There were maybe five edamame beans on it and a pinch of kale. I'm on a lower carb diet and this was a diabetic nightmare. I don't like to feel that I can't order online because the restaurant is cutting corners and I might not like what I see or taste when I order it. I hope this was a one-time mishap and I can come back and experience what I've become accustomed to. read more

The upcharge for extra avocado was not cool considering the extra came in a 2oz cup that wasn't filled up. Also I didn't see any in the salad so I paid double for very little. That being said the creamy chipotle dressing and the bread were really good. Other than order fulfillment issues I'd eat here again. I ordered Abbots Southwestern Salad with Creamy Chipotle dressing, extra bread, extra dressing, extra avocado, with no beans and corn and no jicama and added roasted tofu. To make it simple LOL. Today I decided to try something different because I been wanting an avocado sandwich and I absolutely love artichoke! I ordered the artichoke and avocado sandwich with a salad. My very first bite was honestly the worst. The artichoke was super cold like it came straight out of the refrigerator and there was not even one slice of avacado on my sandwich. Ridiculous. Went this morning right at 11. They have a MILLION catering orders to fill. EVERY TIME I go. They told me to wait outside. Took them 15 mins to bring me my sandwich. I had to go inside after 10 mins to make sure I heard the gentleman correctly when he told me to wait outside... He said it would be out soon. They also must have switched the garlic aioli which was my favorite. It was so watery today and not creamy like it used to be. Haven't been here in so long so I was very excited. I usually study from the mornings at the library to noon then have to head to work so this place is perfect to stop by for a quick lunch! Upon entering the place has a overall friendly and clean environment. The staff are really nice as well! I wish the place was a bit bigger so they can offer more indoor dining. Our first time at Urbane Cafe was a good experience. Service was quick, friendly, and with appropriate measures in place for social distancing. There are plenty of vegetarian options, sandwiches, soups and salads. I had the special Golden Beet salad with tofu as my protein choice. It was great, especially with the citrus vinaigrette dressing it came with. We also had a Tofu Bahn Mi which my 12 year old enjoyed...he especially loved the bread which tasted like it had just been baked. Famished and stuck in traffic on our way home from SF and found this gem of a place. That side salad with the sliced mandarins and balsamic dressing is all I need. The chicken pesto sandwich is delicious and filling, I saved half for later. The steak sandwich is also a good choice. Their focaccia bread is almost a little thicker than a flat bread but so soft and good. The aroma of freshly baked cookies was irresistible... so yes, we got the half and half. YUM. What was even worse was the response from the Manager in person and prior to that another female employee via telephone stating,"that is impossible, we make our bread every day, I don't believe that." I offered to drive back to show them but again the response was, "No, I don't need to see it because that is impossible." I end up going there and I spoke with the manager and he stated, " that perhaps the machine was not cleaned properly ."
