The food was amazing! The char on the dough makes it something special. The staff is friendly and kind. THANKS Definitely recommend!

A thin crust pizza sent straight from heaven. At least that's what it felt like eating this one! I didn't know what to expect based on some mixed (though generally positive) reviews but I'm happy my hubby dragged me there because the pizza was even better than expected. Everything was well-balanced taste wise and the parmed eggplant was a nice surprise, a bit crunchy and frankly delish. The cheese was good and too, and the sauce was just right. The thin crust was perfect, slightly charred but not too much. The medium pizza (they have only two sizes, medium and humongous) was perfect to share between 2 hungry people, or maybe 3 regular people who aren't looking to stuff their faces. I honestly never knew just how much I loved thin crust until I walked into URBN. The formula is simple and the output tastes great. This meets all the check boxes for me. Next time I'm in Encinitas, I'll definitely stop by again. Totally worth it!

URBN Encinitas serves New Haven-style thin crust pizza. A small looks huge and takes up an entire tray. I thought I would have leftovers, but because it's a very thin crust, the two us easily ate one. This is a casual spot, where you order at the counter and find a table. Things were pretty chill during a weekday lunch. We got a small Eggplant Parm ($24). I liked the red sauce and was surprised that the pizza didn't get too soggy given how paper thin the crust was. I would totally come back here and try some other pizzas. There was an earlier review complaining about the state of the restroom. I found it to be very clean, so don't let that one prevent you from coming here.

Stopped by during a Cruise Night on the 101. Super fast service which was excellent for my hangry toddlers. Good spot for families and kids, without some outdoor seating. Pepperoni pizza was yummy - only negatives were greasy top and soggy crust. Small size is HUGE. We definitely enjoyed it. The Italian chopped salad was so good, I could eat this every day.

Super nice staff, but found the fattest hair in my pizza was really sad

Super nice staff, but found the fattest hair in my pizza was really sad hot honey. It was super good.

    The best pizza ever

If I could give this place 60 stars I would. I thought I had already reviewed URBN but I was wrong. This is the best pizza I've had in California to date. If I've said any other place was better I take it back. It's the closest to Sally's from New Haven Connecticut that I have encountered. The location near the beach is ideal. The place is comfy and easy to get to. The staff is friendly and everyone from the cook to the front counter is involved. Honestly cannot recommend this place enough. My gf says luckily we're not close or I'd be there all the time. She right, I would.

There was lots of parking on the other side of the street and we were greeted by a friendly waitress. I tried the gelato. Vanilla gelato was creamy with a rich, sweet vanilla flavor. I loved the smooth texture and bold vanilla notes. Lemon sorbet was icy with tons of sour lemon flavor. Best in small quantities. I'm glad I got one scoop of each. Service was friendly and efficient. I will miss our monthly adventures to places I have not visited before.

Buona Forchetta came highly recommended by a friend who raves about their pizzas. After trying it…read moremyself, I'd rate it closer to a 3.5 out of 5. It's a solid neighborhood restaurant, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. We ordered two pizzas: a gluten-free Margherita and a regular Margherita. One thing that immediately stood out was how similar the two crusts tasted. Both had a comparable level of chewiness, which was surprising given that one was gluten-free. The gluten-free crust lacked some of the wheaty, earthy flavor you'd expect from a traditional dough, but overall I was genuinely impressed by its texture and quality. It's one of the better gluten-free pizza crusts I've had. The pizzas are Neapolitan-style and generally enjoyable. The dough itself is well made, though I would have preferred a bit more chew and structure to take it to the next level. My biggest criticisms are the sauce and cheese. The sauce was applied too sparingly, leaving the pizza without enough moisture or cohesion to tie the different components together. More importantly, the flavor felt one-dimensional--mostly salty, without the rich tomato sweetness, depth, and complexity that make a great Neapolitan pizza memorable. But I want to be fair. Judging from the photos posted by other Yelpers, some of the pizzas shown have a good amount of pizza sauce. I need to try the food again and update my review. As for the cheese, the fresh mozzarella on the Margherita didn't quite meet expectations. The slices had a firmer texture than I typically associate with fresh mozzarella and lacked some of the soft, creamy moisture that helps create that signature melt. The flavor was also milder than expected; instead of delivering a pronounced milky richness, it tasted somewhat diluted. This may be a minor criticism, but on a simple pizza like a Margherita, where every ingredient is on display, these details become much more noticeable. Overall, Buona Forchetta serves a respectable Neapolitan-style pizza, and its gluten-free option is particularly impressive. However, the underwhelming sauce and mozzarella kept the pizzas from reaching the level I was expecting given the enthusiastic recommendations.

First, let's start with empathy, it appeared that they were severely understaffed with just one busser and one waitress. For that, I feel bad for them. For our experience, they can go ef off. Read below. We visited them on Saturday, December 27th in a group of 8: - Stood at the check in for 10 minutes while the one waitress wouldn't make eye contact with us - Finally sat down, took 20 minutes to get the waitress. However, she did walk by 10 times and ignored us. - I ordered a diet coke. She came back and said they were out of diet coke. - I ordered a tea. It was 1/2 filled and full of tea leaves. I asked for a different pour and she said they were out of tea. - Our meal took nearly an hour to show up. During this time, 8 other tables who ordered after us, got their food prior to us. Clearly, our order was never put in. Here's why the experience is a negative 5 stars. Again, I'm empathetic that they were understaffed. With that... - They could have told us at check in - There was no reason to ignore us - If she had just said, "I'm sorry, we're understaffed, I appreciate your patience", that would have been a decent human thing to do - No reason for her to be rude to us for asking for ketchup for my kids While the waitress was rude, I clearly blame management. If you own this place and you had people not show up, don't put your establishment in the hands of a single server.

I think this is a regular occurrence. When the doors open, everyone rushes to get bar seating, which is first come, first served. At the front desk, we checked-in and they sat us at a table in the main dining room. I let it slide since we didn't want to get the Happy Meal anyway, but also wouldn't get any happy hour drink prices. We ordered: * Berry Hot & Bothered - $18 * Societe Bulbous Hazy IPA - $10 * Beef Carpaccio - $29 * Ode-to-Swan - $34 * Johnny Cake & Caviar - $29 * Half-Baked Red Snapper - $48 * Peaches, Peaches, Peaches - $18 * Butter Me Up - $17 The cocktails were fine. Butter Me Up was the best (an espresso martini). The beer was good. The Peaches and Berry drink were very mediocre. Server did get us two small glasses of champagne for our anniversary which was a nice touch. The Beef Carpaccio was amazing. There is a TON of breadcrumbs so if you inhaled, you'll choke. But the flavor was fantastic. Would order again. The Ode-To-Swan reminded me of the Spanish Sashimi at Valentina. Only they put a metric TON of chives on it so you can't even see the fish. This is a huge mistake. The dish was okay but all I tasted was chives. I love sashimi but would not order this again. The Johnny Cake was good but way too sweet! It's basically a thick pancake with caviar on top. The caviar was very savory and the sea bass rillete underneath was smoky. I loved the flavor combination but we could not finish the dish. The half-baked fish was phenomenal. A stunner. Even with the foggy eyeball staring at you. Soo good, I only wished there was more of that sauce on the plate. Even at $50, I would order this again. Total was $270 after tip. They add a 4% surcharge on the bill which is not great. I would come here again but skip the cocktails. Go to SAGO across the street instead for some banger cocktails. Parking was sparse. Street level only. We had to park a block away but the walk was not bad. It was 69° so the weather was perfect. Service was good but our server was clearly trying to get us to order more food. We did not need a second entree or a plate of carrots or potatoes. I would come back, mostly to try new dishes. The food is expensive but interesting in a way you don't know what something will taste like. Please ditch the chives on the sashimi!
