I'm so fortunate to have this great little Bagel shop in my neighborhood. Great bagels, really…read morewonderful employees, excellent customer service. A few years ago when I first discovered this place I noticed how popular the Jalapeño Cheese bagels were. I thought they looked weird and I was very reluctant to try one. I was happy with my standard order: an Everything Bagel. Then one day, I don't know what possessed me, I decided to find out what was up with those Jalapeño Cheese bagels. Holy hell those sons of bitches are good! It's astonishing how good really. Sure am sorry it took me so long to try them. And there are so many variations with jalapeno! Just to name the ones I remember: Jalapeno 1 Cheese, Jalapeno 4 Cheese, Everything Jalapeno 1 Cheese, Everything Jalapeno 4 Cheese Everything seasoning on top of a Jalapeno 4 Cheese. You know, like Jalapeño' 4 Cheese wasn't already mind-blowingly delicious enough. No, Bagel Rock Cafe is like, hold my cream cheese. Then they do that thing they do, with Everything. I really don't know why I'm telling you all this. I know you probably already knew. Seems like I'm the last person in the world to discover how great Jalapeno 4 Cheese bagels are. But who knows, maybe there's someone else out there that hasn't discovered how fire those bad boys are. Bagel Rock Cafe is the perfect place to try one Mikey C says: Highly recommended!

Not even close to being worth it. The ppl who work there aren't very friendly either but doesn't matter bc I'll never be back.

My favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Ventura!…read more At this point, I think I've tried everything on the menu! I've even gotten to the point of creating my own little custom breakfast by combining different side dishes! All the fruit is fresh, the salads and sandwiches are big enough to share, and the coffee is good enough to get one to go for an afternoon pick me up (they close at 2pm). I love the high quality ingredients they use, from the eggs to the produce, nothing is industriel or pre-made. There is a parking lot in back, but during the weekday it's easy to park on the street.

Once your seat is ready, you order at the counter and you get a number. The staff that took our order was awesome. Friendly, warm, high energy, and efficient. Our order came out in about 10-15 min. Water is self serve. Drip coffee- perfect and high quality. It tasted like Kona coffee! Lavender matcha- great and well balanced Japanese milk bread- this fell a tad short for me. I would've liked both sides to be seasoned/flavored. Japanese Milk bread is typically moist and fluffy , however this was a little dry likely due to the toasting of the bread. The color overall was lighter than expected. It's served with a berry sauce which is really yummy. Side of smashed potatoes- really good. Perfectly seasoned and ketchup tasted homemade Aussie meat pie- soooooo delicious! The crust was awesome and the meat was tender. We also loved the side salad because it had a little zing of lemon. A rare moment where a side salad is actually fantastic! Miso chicken katsu Sando- really loved this! The chicken breast is huge. As other reviews stated, it's not a typical chicken katsu. If you like honey, you'll like this. The honey sauce hits you on the front end and ends with a little acidity from the aioli and slaw. The sandwich was super juicy and flavorful. While large, it didn't feel heavy. Each bite got better and better. Brontë bowl - OUR FAVORITE!!!! Ok first off, I hate mushrooms with a passion, but I kept them in the order because they are curried and I knew theyre an essential part of the dish. They were awesome. I didn't mind them one bit. This dish does not need salmon, and if anything I think adding it would've been too salty. I naturally eat fast but this bowl makes you slow down because of the layers/elements. The sweetness of onions, the creaminess of the feta and avocado, the crunch from the seeds, the delicious pesto, the buttered bread, the perfectly poached eggs - UGH! So perfect! Everything had a purpose. I am obsessed with this bowl. It is so much more filling than you'd think. I could eat this everyday and I hope they never change it. Ambiance was great. We sat at the bar which felt spacious. The inside is gorgeous and just puts you in a good mood. The best thing about this place is the staff. Literally every single person we interacted with was amazing! Everyone here is friendly, warm, and just looks happy to be there. I can't wait to return!!!!!

I think by now we all know Cajé Coffee Roasters is a fan favorite in Downtown Ventura...but if you…read moredon't, now you know! This seriously addicting coffee shop, which started in Santa Barbara, has been a Ventura favorite for quite some time now, and it's been so fun watching them grow. Nestled in a charming converted cottage, this cozy café is the perfect addition to Downtown Ventura. When I stopped by over the weekend, they were insanely busy so I wasn't able to capture much of the space itself for photos but I can promise you it's a cute spot. We opted for outside table dining and it was lovely. To order you stand in line and then order at the counter, they'll bring the food back to your table, but they will call you up to grab your drinks. We ordered a couple of iced lattes and their famous Bella Rose - iced matcha, which was absolutely gorgeous and just as delicious. 10/10. Their drinks are truly little works of art and always worth ordering. To finish off brunch, we grabbed a couple of bagels. One of my favorites is their toasted bagel with tomato, avocado, and cream cheese, it's simple and so satisfying. Next time I'll be trying one of their fruit bowls. The staff here are absolute rockstars. They crank out drink after drink with a smile on their faces while keeping the atmosphere welcoming and fun. We always love stopping by, and if you haven't been yet, consider this your sign to check them out and support a fantastic local business.
