We showed up at UrgentVet (Carytown) an hour or so before they closed. Everyone was incredibly compassionate and wanted to give our dog the best care possible. They took him back for surgery which went until late that night and they stayed with him until 3 a.m. That is above and beyond in my opinion. After I waited 2 hours, I went to the receptionist and was told that it could be another 3 hours my cat would have to wait. And could even be longer than that. They just leave you waiting in the room. Nobody comes in while you are waiting. You just sit. Was told that we had to wait just like a hospital for humans. I have never waited in the emergency room 5 hours or longer. There weren't that many cars in the parking lot. So thoughtless and inconsiderate. After I was told that it would be 3 hours or more, I called Virginia Veterinary Center in Shortpump. They told me to come right over. As soon as I got there, they took my cat's vitals and told me they would take us back. One half hour later, they brought us back. We waited another 20 minutes for the doctor. He came in. Did an exam and 10 minutes later my cat got fluids in her for about an hour. It took 3 hours tops. I have to be honest with you. I wish I could have given a zero star to Blue pearl. There is absolutely no reason that anyone should have to wait 5 hours or more for an emergency pet hospital to be seen by the veterinarian. Unfair and scary, worrying for your pet around people who obviously don't care if you are there or not. A total waste of time.

The techs are great and know my animals by name. We recently made the very hard decision to say goodbye to our beloved dog and Dr. Emily was patient, gentle and caring. She took care of my baby like she was her own and comforted me in the process. It is hard to go back there bc it is the place we lost our baby, but I tried another vet and they could not come close to the personal service we get at Brandermill. They answer texts and emails quickly and I can always get a timely appointment.

They told us that he was being playful and had us feeling like our pup was doing better. They gave him fluids and then some medicine to take home. His issue did not get better, but have gotten worse and when I called to get an update on what we should do next and was told I would receive a call back. They called my fiance and she expressed our mutual frustration. And was told "this is the level of care you paid for". I'm sorry. If you take your kid to the er and all you can afford is a set amount and they do no more than that to help him feel better. How can they say they care about our pets when it feels like the employees may care but the business does not. Would not recommend to anyone. *Update* still have not heard anything back from partners regarding this matter. We got our pup into another vet and found out his kidney numbers are through the roof. He is going in today for treatment.
