Carnitas y cueritos

The food here is always always!!! On point and delicious no matter what meat or dish you get you won't be disappointed. Service is great kind of chipotle style set up but delicious selections. They make you feel at home when you hear one of the cook ladies yelling asking you what are you taking so they can warm up your tortillas by hand! Definitely my top three places to get definitely! On my once a week spot

Hefty burritos

I'll be honest -- I never would've come here if my clients hadn't insisted. They told me, "It's a hole-in-the-wall," and I said, "That's fine, as long as the food's worth it." And wow... it's worth it. This place serves some of the best burritos I've had anywhere in L.A. County. You'd never guess it from the outside -- it's hidden away and totally unassuming -- but that's what makes it special. It's the kind of spot you only find through word of mouth. If you're a fan of Burritos La Palma, you'll probably love this place even more. The burritos here are huge -- easily three or four times the size. Since the restaurant's named after Uruapan, I wanted to try their carnitas, but my client swears by the chile relleno burrito. I couldn't decide, so they topped my chile relleno with carnitas. Best decision ever. It was around $18, but the burrito was massive -- enough for two meals if you have self-control (which I didn't). The tortillas have that soft, stretchy texture like Burritos La Palma, but the flavor combo here is next level. If you're ever near Compton, don't skip this spot. Their carnitas and chile relleno burrito is my new favorite in all of Los Angeles County.

Had a fly in my burrito which was very disguised had to go back to the owner saying it's okay like no it's not okay to eat a fly this place is the most dirty place

Old school authentic food. We had the chicharon, buche, asada and chorizo tacos. The food was bomb!! Something your family would make. I hate when people complain about prices at these small places but are fine with crazy places at higher end establishments. Prices were decent for the amount of meat that was piled into our tacos. We saw them making the burritos and those things are massive. Easily could be three meals. Service was fast...there was a small line when we got there and bigger one when we left. Enough said.

Burrito -carne con chile verde

The location is surroundings by graffiti but don't let that intimate you. Bad parking, suggesting that they add a food selection menu for new customers with prices. Depending on the person serving that's how my burrito tasted. Elderly lady the burrito was on point, young lady burritos were missing the chile verde flavor (not enough) It just tasted like beans and rice. I would give it another try with the hopes they serve better.

Easily, without a doubt, the best tacos de chicharon y moscas in town. Tasty. Sometimes a little spicy and crunchy, but good overall

Greetings, Flavor Budz!…read more I wanted to share a review for Wendy, the owner and operator, regarding her welcoming establishment. She was incredibly hospitable, especially since my husband and I were new patrons to her eatery. Naturally, I was craving tacos, as I often do. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this family-friendly eatery so close by. As you may know, they specialize in Birria, which, incidentally, is an impressive rendition of a traditional home-cooked meal. What I found most enjoyable about my dining experience was the grilled shells, which provided a delightful crunch. I appreciate various textures in my food, so I have specific preferences for how certain dishes are prepared. The flavors and seasoning combinations were also quite complimentary. I ordered the tacos, ramen, and quesabirria, and everything was delicious. The atmosphere is inviting, the food is prepared with care, and it is a family-owned business. They have now become a cherished part of my inner circle. Wendy, you and your family are truly gems, and I thank you for your hospitality.

If you're craving authentic antojitos from Ciudad Guzmán in the southern region of Jalisco,…read moreAntojitos Los Cuates in Compton is absolutely worth the drive. As someone who grew up enjoying the flavors of Jalisco, I had been yearning for the famous raspadas--large homemade tostadas--and the variety of traditional antojitos that are so popular back home. My family and I decided to give this place a try, so we made the drive all the way from Riverside County to Compton, and I can honestly say we were not disappointed. This is a small, family-owned restaurant with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food tastes homemade, just like the meals your mamá would make in Jalisco. You can tell that every dish is prepared with care, tradition, and pride. We ordered the tostadas, tortas ahogadas, and tacos duros, and every item was packed with authentic flavor. Unfortunately, we arrived around 3:30 PM and missed out on the pozole because they had already sold out for the day. That alone tells me it's a favorite among their customers, so I highly recommend arriving early if you're hoping to try it. The service was excellent, and despite the restaurant being very busy, the staff remained friendly and attentive. Keep in mind that this is a small family-run establishment, so your food may take a little longer to arrive. However, that's because everything is made fresh to order, and the quality is well worth the wait. Places like this are becoming harder to find. If you're looking for authentic flavors from Jalisco and want to support a hardworking family business, Antojitos Los Cuates is a hidden gem that deserves a visit. We'll definitely be back. A little taste of Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, right here in Southern California.

I ordered the asada, carnitas, al pastor, tripas, cabeza, and lengua. The asada was tender with a nice grilled flavor, but my favorites were definitely the tripas and cabeza. Both were a little greasy, but in a good way--they had a lot of flavor and were probably the standouts of the meal for me. One thing I liked was the condiment bar. You can load up your tacos with as much onion and cilantro as you want, plus they have radishes and lime wedges available. They also offer two salsas, a red and a green. Both tasted good and had solid flavor, although I was hoping for a little more heat. Overall, it's a solid taco spot, especially on Taco Tuesday. Good variety of meats, reasonable prices, and plenty of toppings to customize your tacos. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area and craving some tacos.
