This place reminds me of a college-style beer/pizza/burger joint, except I don't believe pizza is served. Pool tables and arcade games co-exist with college bar style booths. What makes this place worthwhile are the very good, very large burgers, cooked to order, the way you want 'em and served hot along with ample servings of fries and/or rings if you wish. I love Houston's burgers, but it is tough to justify a Houston burger when US Cafe serves up a thoroughly satisfying big burger and pile of great fries for a fraction of the cost. US Cafe burgers beat Five Guys hands down - no contest. I've been eating US Cafe for at least 11 years now and it hasn't changed a bit. If it ain't broke... I remember eating here when there were just woods across the street. No Publix shopping center, no E/W Connector stretching all the way through Cobb Co. US Cafe has survived and deservedly so. My wife and I went on a Five Guys kick for a while as it was slightly closer to the hosue, but we ventured back to US Cafe a couple of months ago and haven't been back to Five Guys since. Best bang for your buck burger in town. Classic place that's been around a while and has that hometown, anti-chain feel. We were in the mood for wings and stumbled upon this place and decided to try it instead of the chain wing shop across the street. We were very happy we did! The Cajun style wings were hot, fresh, and extremely flavorful! You could tell they were real potatoes! The wings were also definitely made to order. US Cafe on South Cobb has been serving up delicious burgers and other traditional greasy fare for longer than most of you have lived in Atlanta. The first time I sat on their patio eating a burger in late 1998, the view across South Cobb was one of lush green forests. These days, it's a huge shopping center, the start of the Silver Comet Trail, and, mainly, the home to non-stop traffic just beginning its trek out one of Cobb's major thoroughfares. They could create a Cobb County Marathon from Cumberland Mall to Town Center Mall and use a lane of Cumberland Parkway/East-West Connector/Barrett Parkway as the course. That's actually not a bad idea... Depending on the time of day and day of the week, US Cafe is packed with blue and white collar lunch breakers, families, guy and gal night out groups, fans of big screens and football, teens after a H.S. game, after church groups, and everyone in between. For all of the specialty burger joints around, from Flip to Yeah Burger to places like Five Guys, I always return to the US Cafe for a reasonably priced, more for your money, juicy burger and fries combo. Other items are popular too like the wings and milkshakes, and I've tried other sandwiches and enjoyed them, but the burger is the winner for me. Order at the bar (use a paper menu, for some reason they recently took down the large menu board and replaced it with a giant TV that rotates menu topics, it doesn't work for a menu with so many choices), grab a seat, and wait to hear your name called. Actually, after about 10 minutes wait to hear a muffled shouting noise and go see if your order is ready...I've been a customer for 16 years and still can't understand the names they yell through the mike). The seating is great - tables can accommodate larger groups, booths with high-ish backs provide a fairly intimate setting, and the hi-tops/pool tables/big screen are segregated in their own more sports bar type of environment. The patio is a great weather specific option too. If you want to watch something different on a screen or adjust volume, just ask. FYI food is consistent across all 3 locations (South Cobb, Spring Rd., and Piedmont in Buckhead). read more

There are some quirks to this place that you need to be prepares for: 1) if you order wings along with anything else on the menu, your meal will not be done together and one person will be done with their meal before your wings even get cooked. 2) give them a very simple name for your order. Because no doubt, when they call it to tell to you your food is ready, you will be confused, and waiting at the counter staring at the other people's food hoping it looks like your order. read more

To-go food orders just sit on the counter until someone working there decides to move their feet and do something. Then it's either wrong or cold. Ordered 50 wings to go, hot crispy and wet, when I got home I had 50 mild and dry. I have left 4 messages asking for a manager to return my call. I was told twice that the owner would call me. When I called back asking for the owner, I was told that he had not been in "a few days". Each time a call, the person that I speak with remembers the problem, but does not understand why no one has returned my calls. I grew up in this area and have eaten here many times. Last week, I placed an order a day ahead for a group of teachers who were doing work. I was promised that the food would be ready the next day for me to pick up at 11:30 a.m. the next day When I arrived the next day at 11:30, everything boxed up and ready to go. To be honest, I don't really eat anything but their wings and onion rings. Their onion rings are a little too thick for my taste, but my parent loves them. I always enjoy US Cafe's wings, especially with their blue cheese dressing! Delicious! They're not thick wings but they are sorta crispy, which I like! Best wings ever! I love that the wings are cooked exactly like I like them: all flats & extra crispy! Prices recently went up, but I just can't go anywhere else. For the price, it's one of the best burgers in town. If this was based just on the food it would get 5 stars. Unfortunately the atmosphere takes it down to 4. The room with all the booths always seems dingy and staring at the bathrooms is gross. If they redid this room to make it more comfortable and installed new tables it would be much more appealing to eat in instead of take out like we often do. They also have a problem of sometimes the food from your orde being ready at different times. So 2 people may get their burgers but 2 others that ordered wings come out later. I'm going to finally give this place a good review again. I've never considered it much more than a 2-star joint since Gene sold it several years back. This was mostly due to service issues. For a burger joint the food has always been pretty tasty. Historically when you place an order for the family. This being a mix of burgers, salads, wings, etc.... Everything would come out separately. When I mean separately, I'm talking several minutes apart. One person can be nearly done with their meal before other orders in your party is called out. This seemed to be an issue EVERY time I went and finally just stopped going. This is also food on the SAME ticket. Not multiple and separate orders. But after about two+ years we went back and it seems they might have actually fixed this issue. Our mixed order for five people all came out TOGETHER!!!!! It was also correct and hot. I was floored. So we went back a few weeks later and to my surprise they got the order out at the same time AGAIN! It was correct and hot this time too. So thank you US Cafe for finally getting your act together and hopefully keeping it together. Will see you again one day soon. read more

It used to be that this place had great burgers and fries. Good wings and a few other tasty tid bits. The food now is just OK. It seems if the place is busy then the quality goes down. Luke warm burger and fries arent the best. Tonight it had a new crew. The guys at the register acted like a newby. The girl acted upset with to much to do and the place seemed unorganized. Honestly this location deserves zero stars. The facility is gross with ketchup stains on the wall plus dirty floors and tables, but that's not even the most off putting part. It took them literally 30 minutes to make a milkshake which is outrageous because it was not crowded. As well I asked for lemon pepper wings and got crusty plain wings. Who the heck asks for some plain wings. The onion rings were so greasy oil dripped out of them. I'd heard a lot about this restaurant from friends and decided to check it out. I got there and the atmosphere was ok. It was a sports bar type restaurant. The service was ok. When I got to the register the cashier was quick about taking my order. Based on the reviews and the prices of the food I thought it would be good. The restaurant had quite a few employees working that night and I assumed I would get speedy service. 15 minutes later I received the one hotdog I had ordered. This is my 1st true food review so it definitely was bad. We were regulars at this place for years until about a year ago. We stopped patronizing them because the service was becoming terrible and the food wasn't any better. We decided to give them another try tonight...bad idea. We ordered a Turkey burger combo, 10 wings, and an order of fried green tomatoes which was almost $25. It took forever and the cashiers were all over the place and so unprofessional. Finally we get the food and it was almost as if we ordered a mini of everything. The fried green tomatoes were burnt greasy and cooked in old cooking oil. The turkey burger appeared to be about the size of a Krystals burger and the wings were the smallest. The only thing going good for this place are the fries. Save your money and go to Five Guys or somewhere. We will never eat there again. read more

Went on a Wednesday night where their 20 count wings are on special for 12 dollars (usually 17). We had the x-hot and lemon pepper and got them x crispy (choice of regular, xcrispy, xx or xxx crispy). Blue cheese or ranch are extra. You can get two sauces with the 20 count. I will divulge that I am from buffalo, so I am used to huge wings...these were small even for atlanta wings. We ended up getting a second order,but were satisfied at about 30 wings for two people. That being said the xcrispy were very good, albeit small, and the xhot sauce was perfect. Lemon pepper standard, not a saucy seasoning, just crispy with good lemon pepper flavor. Second batch we got garlic Parmesan which we thought were pretty bland, just very mild,crispy not saucy, and the Cajun,which were similar to the xhot. Also had large order onion rings and small order hand cut fries which were good, pretty standard. They also have pretty good looking shakes and apparently good burgers. I thought it was a pretty good deal to have 20 wings for 12 dollars so we may be back for that special or to try a burger. Order at the counter then they call your name when order ready. We really enjoyed this place. The hamburgers are fresh thick patties. The French fries are fresh cut. The kids love the wings and tenders. You can get an assortment of bottled or draft beer. Horrible service and the manager Brittany could care less about the lack of service customers weren't receiving. I ordered online 3 hours ahead of time, and when I arrived, it wasn't ready. After waiting for 15 minutes I asked to speak with the manager (Brittany) and she said "Oh sorry, but your order was given away by mistake." This same person watched me the entire time I was waiting without saying a word. And I was not the only customer in who was waiting for a call in order while customers walking in received their food. Terrible experience. Walk-in to place an order and all seems well. 45 minutes later, still no food. I stood by the counter the entire time so that the people there working could tell I was still waiting (the place wasn't incredibly busy). I finally walk up to the counter and apparently their computer was down so it had not been sending ANY orders to the kitchen. Needless to say, the kitchen never even got my order to make. I get technological malfunctions, but when you have a few people waiting for food and nothing coming out, you have to think that there is a problem and I was not the first person that this happened to that night. Simple solution -- print out the receipt from the main cash register and walk it 10 feet to the kitchen. All orders and received and problem solved. Ended up getting a refund, with no hassle and the only reason this place even gets one star is because I ended up getting a free fountain soda out of it which, I must say, was great. I've visited this burger place several times over the years. The quality was great, once upon a time. In the present day, however, everything is overpriced. I had the wings for the first time. They were expensive and tiny, so tiny. I brought my girlfriend here for her first and last visit. I was embarrassed. I had the overpriced super burger. Nothing special. Overcooked and dry. I've definitely had worse, but, not for this much money. We both had the Cajun fries expecting some good flavor and heat. We got regular fries with store bought Cajun seasoning sprinkled on top only. This place, on Saturday, during college football games, was almost completely empty. If people vote with their feet, then that explains why this place was empty. read more
