I have been going to this salon for the past 3 years and I will never step in it again. There have been minor issues in the past but my last experience has sworn me off them forever. The technician left in the middle of my pedicure to help another customer who walked in because of an error they made in her nails at a previous appointment. Not an issue but nothing was said and I was left sitting for over 15 minutes. No apologies or explanations were attempted. When I tried to leave feedback about the experience I was told they were "too busy" for me. I've stuck with this salon through their major downgrade in staff/building size but won't stay for their downgrade in service. There are several other options in town. Not the same business that they were years ago. They have declined immensely. Went there to get my wedding nails, and I showed inspiration photos and clearly stated that I wanted a milky white shade and not solid white. The end result was solid white and chunky nails. I came back the next day to see if I could get them fixed and they tried to paint over the nail, which made it even thicker and uglier. So I politely asked that they remove the nails. Once they removed the nails, they denied me any type of refund. I spent $70 on some chunky nails and was disappointed. My sister also got a pedicure and the paint was applied messily. She went home and repainted.... My mom also went and got French tips. They chipped a day after.... before the wedding day. She went home and repainted them as well. So we all had to get press on nails and do our own nails for my wedding. Super inconvenient, but the nails we did ourselves ended up wayyyyyy better. I never leave bad reviews, but the lady I communicated with was soooo rude to me. I would have walked away without the refund and bad review, if things were handled better and if we could have worked on a resolution. read more

Five stars for nails, one star for waxing. I came here regularly for my nails over the last year or so and was always very happy whether it was dip, gel, or a pedi. The technicians are quick, clean, and professional, and the man at the front desk is fantastic. Considering I trust this business with that and they have an extensive range of other services, I decided to get a wax here as well. I paid extra for a Brazilian "with an expert," because if anything deserves a little extra, it's the Brazilian area. When I tell you it was the worst pain I've experienced, it was absolutely atrocious. I had a giant purple bruise, I bled, and there were major patches of hair left completely untouched. I moved out of town three days after so I was not able to do anything about it. I got the wax so that I would feel good seeing my husband for the first time in months and honestly I was embarrassed by the finished product. Waxing isn't supposed to be excruciating. I was not given the option of hard or soft wax, and when I say I nearly jumped out of my skin, I am not exaggerating. It took two weeks for the bruise to heal and for everything to not feel raw. I don't know what happened or why, but please do not come here for a wax. I would come back for my nails any day, US Nails is fantastic at what's in the title of the business. read more

For example the deluxe is 50$ at allure its 45 but doesn't include the calluse removal-that's an additional 8. The massages are also better at us nails. I have been here twice now and will forever come here. Ruby has taken such good care of my hand and feet nails. She did such an exceptional job the first experience I requested her a second time. Even after she has finished cutting the cuticles she continues to go back and fix any spots that might pop up throughout the entire process to ensure they are perfect. She files my nails down exactly how I want them without making them too short as I am trying to grow them out. She coats the gel manicure perfectly all the way around where it last for about 2-3 weeks in perfect condition. They are extremely sanitary, and I love that it is by appt only so you know exactly when your time is and don't have to wait long when arriving. I'm not super impressed with the quality of work at this salon. The shop was clean, and I was able to walk right in, but my nails definitely are not done well. I got a mani-pedi with French tips, and the gal doing my nails only applied one layer of polish. So, not only were my nails not coated enough to come close to the color I picked out, but the polish was semi-transparent and looked unfinished in the sunlight when I left the shop. I paid full price, but received 50 percent of what I paid for and am tempted to go get my nails redone somewhere else. Also, they were pretty rough on my cuticles, to the point that I found myself flinching and found some of the effects of the products they put on my hands and feet afterward to be a little painful. I had just gotten my nails done last week, so I know my cuticles were in decent shape. I don't believe I'll frequent his salon and wouldn't recommend it to others. read more

We just moved to Fairbanks three weeks ago, thank to the good ole US Army, and my nails and feet were needing some TLC. This spot came highly recommended by some friends and I was not disappointed at all. Appointment booking online is easy, all prices are listed, and you're given a pedicure menu when you sit down in one of their delightful massage chairs in case you have changed your mind. I have been here many times before and have always thought that the nail technicians did a great job for a reasonable price. Went in 2/11/2023 for a deluxe pedicure and was charged the $55 for the pedicure along with a $25 chair fee. I understand that the cost of everything is going up everywhere. Keep in mind that some of us are trying to support local businesses and some of us tip well. I saw no signs saying that there was a $25 chair fee. I paid it and I gave my usual 30% tip. When I was finished I did talk with the manager and I was given 50%off , but by the time I got home I realized how many cuts I had. My cuticles are all damaged in addition to the cuts and scrapes . Visiting Fairbanks for work, I had some time to kill and needed a pedicure. US Nails wasn't the closest place to my hotel according to the map, but looking at pictures online and seeing their service offerings, I chose to go there instead of the other places downtown. I enjoyed my pedicure, which I got an aromasense one or something, which I got to pick the scent for. I chose lavender but didn't really notice any lavender scent during my pedicure. If I were to go back I would just get the deluxe. I also decided to get a manicure, and since I've never had dip nails I got those. The young man at the front desk was very helpful in explaining them to me, and I am really blown away by how much I like them. He said they're something new to Alaska, so I shouldn't have a problem finding someone to take them off and put them back on when I return home. Overall, an outstanding experience and great way to pamper myself while traveling. Would go again. read more

I did a walk in for a full set of acrylics & gel. I had my nails done by the male there, I didn't get his name. There's a substantial gap between my actual nail and the tips applied. Within the first 10 minutes I knew I would remove them when I got home unless adjustments were made. He was using too much monomer the whole time to the point the acrylic wasn't forming an apex correctly and my nails were flat. It was literally sliding off my nails and there was so much waste. I had to point out they needed to be built up more so they wouldn't break and even then they're still pretty flat. When I say using too much monomer I mean dunking the brush every couple seconds and the paper towels used to dab it off were soaked by the end. My cuticles were flooded with acrylic and it kept dripping off the side of my nail and got stuck to my skin. He used his nail to pry the acrylic from my skin (rather painful) and there's still some left connecting my skin to the sides and bottom of the nails. The nail files used were pulled from the drawer and had been used on previous customers. I had some skin filed off by those files and started bleeding, it got on the file (that went back in the drawer). A lot of filing had to be done to remove acrylic from around my cuticles and under the side of my nail. After the gel was cured, he filed the ends of my nails, removing the paint. This makes it more likely to chip and decreases the lifetime of the color. I've spent the past couple hours trying to scrape acrylic off my skin as there's a lot of residue. $60 to have to explain needing an apex point for acrylic nails plus deal with the rest of it seemed like way too much. I have been going to US Nails for years, lately they are not as nice as they use to be. I go very regularly and had to cancel a pedi on the weekend cause something came up and they charged me half the service for cancelling. First off, I spend a lot of money there and I'm sure they filled the appt. right away. Also, not sure if they are feeling themselves because they were voted best nail salon in Fairbanks but you don't put a message on your website that states we are booked for large parties this year so don't ask. Really showing appreciation of people coming to your salon. Really makes you want to spend your money there. Then you go and close on Sundays, aren't Sundays one of your most busy days?!?! Thinking of trying out some of the other salons that value their customers because I'm just not feeling it there anymore. read more

Overrated and Overpriced. First time receiving services here. The initial impression was clean and modern which I appreciated/enjoyed. However, the receptionist was rude and short. The employees were lifeless no smiles, just robotic. My nail tech was offensive and irritable. When I received my pedicure he took a 5 minute break and came back smelling of smoke. i was not impressed. immediately when i came in everything felt off & just an overall uncomfortable feeling. the lady doing my nails was extremely rough. she flicked me twice & also popped my finger out of place 3 times. i asked for dip powder (which costs $60) & i receive dip, but they're awful. they're misshapen & you can see my nail bed right through all of them. i asked for a baby blue on my ring finger & it is so light that it blends right in with my other nails that are white. they are crooked & none of them are the same shape or length. when she "finished" i was charged $75, after i repeatedly asked her over & over that it would only be $60-$65 with my design. which she then reassured me everytime that yes, it would only cost $65 tops. so, i left unhappy with ugly nails & $10+ overcharged. i do not recommend. read more

From the moment I walked in I liked this place. It's clean, you're greeted in a timely manner, it's spacious, there's a full menu with prices, and a very calming atmosphere. I came in for a shellac pedicure and the man doing mine is very good. No cuts or scrapes from the removal of the old shellac and it's all off versus some of the other places in the area that leave some of it on in the corners because they don't take the time to get it off. There are hundreds of colors to choose from and it's the largest selection I've seen thus far. The foot massage is amazing.... If you like foot massages that is. There's a lot of men working here which I find delightful. Very different compared to other places. Went today to get my nails done. New to the area so I just went to the place closest to post. I got the deluxe pedicure and a shellac manicure. They set a timer to make sure you get the time you are supposed to and that's good except when the timer went off my person just quit. I didn't get a foot massage which is what you normally pay money for. Everything else was ok, they put this hot wax on your foot and wrap them that was pretty nice. My manicure looks good but it was very painful he scrubbed my cuticles and then buffed them right after. It was very expensive but if you look at my nails and toes they look good. Hope this helps. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have never given anyone a bad review but this warrants one. I know it's long but worth a read. I've been getting manicures every other week for about 2 years. For about the first year and a half, I went to US Nails. They always did a good job. However, twice I had to go in and have them redone (not bad when I had been there over 30 times). No big deal. But, the last time I went to have my peeling nails redone, the manager was so rude to me that I left crying and literally have been unable to go back. Like I had PTSD or something. But last night, after about six months away, I decided to be a big girl and go back and called to make an appointment. About 30 minutes later they called me back and told me they had to cancel my manicures because the staff did not want to work on me because I was too picky. That makes me laugh so hard. I try very hard to always be kind and gracious. He specifically mentioned Trudy and Yvonne but he said the whole staff. Apparently, I just ask for too much. What, you ask? Good question. I usually just sit there and let them do their thing and tip them well. So, use me as a cautionary tale and get your nails done elsewhere before you're blackballed too. read more
