I started going here a few months ago out of convenience, it's very close to home and have been very satisfied each visit. Price is reasonable, good color options in both gel and traditional polishes. I do recommend an appt as there are rarely enough techs to grab a ton of walk-ins. They've recently done some renovations and it's greatly improved the ambiance. Comfortable pedicure massage chairs, relaxing music and my gel manicures always last at least 2 weeks; usually closer to 3. Hours can be a little prohibitive - no last evenings or Sundays but great spot in Clifton/Crescent Hill. read more

Very nice lady did my nails. she was the only person in the store. we had lovely conversation, but i wasn't impressed by the acrylic application. i asked for a full set with coffin shape. the shape was off and the gel application over top of the acrylic was slightly lumpy. overall, a decent place; but i will not be returning. my biggest issue was the shaping. read more

So I've been coming to US Nails since they opened years ago. I've never had a bad experience. However, I was there this past Saturday and hadn't been in awhile and I forgot one crucial thing... ...they don't have the massage pedicure chairs anymore. Technically, they do but don't use them anymore, they use the updated fancy chairs. I don't know about you but this is one of the things that I absolutely enjoyed while getting a pedicure. For future appointments, I may just get a manicure and no more pedicure. read more

Had to visit my hometown of Louisville to wrap up a few things regarding my parents move and needed my nail done. I've been coming to get my nails done here for probably 10 years. I do like to stick with one person and I always make an appt for next time before I leave so I can't speak to how busy it may or may not be for walk-ins. Michelle is my girl. She nails (pun intended) my nails every time. I use to do the gel nails, but for the last two or so years I've been doing the dip. She remembers my favorite colors, how, with so many other clients, I have no idea. I'm just writing today because last week they updated the whole salon. New pedicure chairs, (the old ones were less than two years old) new manicure tables and chairs for the nail techs, tons of new dip colors to choose from, new reception desk, new flooring and some slight rearranging. It looks great! I always thought it was very clean, but this revamp just takes it over the top. I love this place and I love Michelle. read more

I live close to US Nails and Spa and recently tried it for the first time. I paid $37 for a manicure and spa pedicure. This is one of the best of both I have received in my lifetime. Everyone was really nice, my nails and all the skin around them look and feel really good (and I got the mani/pedi a week ago). I had a really pleasant experience and plan on making it my regular place in Louisville. The whole place is clean (many of the tools they used on me were in packaging and disposable, all others were sanitized before and after), new and well lit. A definite go. read more

This place was empty, but they were very attentive and spent the time to patiently understand the shape I wanted my nails to be. Went in on a Tuesday night, website said they closed at 8pm but they actually close at 7pm. No customers, but the person at the front waived for the person smoking on the front steps to come in and get me a full set. Very few words were spoken, and I'm not sure if it's due to lack of English or they just don't speak. Having had a long and frustrating day myself, I didn't mind. The man who gave me a full set was quick and polite, but when I asked for rounded nails, they still came out square and slightly uneven. I sat for 5 cycles under the dryer (UV and heat) and then left. It was very humid that night but even after an hour the polish had not hardened and peeled off, causing me to have to remove it the same evening and adding to my frustrating day. It's OK as I've had worse experiences, however, I plan to go elsewhere for my next fill. read more

I've been looking for a decently priced, clean nail salon in my neighborhood and have tried several in the area. US Nails was almost empty on a Saturday afternoon, so no waiting which was great. The salon itself was clean. Service was fine and the prices were comparable to other nail salons. I got the gel manicure and including 20% tip, I paid $36. My only critiques were the way they remove the gel manicure and the polish selection. In my experience, the method where you place your hands in a bowl of nail polish remover and wait is not great for your nails (the method where they soak cotton in remover and wrap your finger tips is supposed to be better). She had to do a lot of scraping to get the polish off even after my nails sat in the remover for a good 10 minutes. Also, the polish selection was small, especially for the gel polishes. That said, the manicure itself was fantastic! I had this done 17 days ago, and the first tiny chip just appeared yesterday. I would go back, especially if I was in a hurry and didn't want a long wait. read more

My technician didn't say two words to me the entire time, even rolled her eyes at me when I said hello to her. She was horribly rude when asking for payment. There was no soothing hand massage; nothing pleasant at all in fact. I was saying ouch more than anything. I have paid LESS at OTHER salons and got better service. The shellac manicure was listed as $20 on the website and I was charged $30...she said the extra was "to cut cuticles." Perhaps the extra charge comes when they actually make you bleed as I did on four fingers. I will not return, I will tell others, and take my advice, if you are reading this, let it be a warning to you as well. Total waste of money. read more

Let me start off by saying I've been a nail biter since I can recall. I'll quit for a while and then start back. Recently I've not been able to kick it. Sooo I read online that you could get gel powder to make your nails longer. I knew I wouldn't be able to bite them if I did this. This place was close to me and I had to be at work that afternoon so I went here. There were equally good and bad reviews but I decided to give it a shot. A man was right outside the front door smoking (I personally hate this and think it's inappropriate for a business owner or worker but whatever). I went in and he eventually joined me. There was one woman getting her nails done. After much discussion, broken English and photos on my phone, I explained what I wanted. $60 was the charge to get the gel powder to lengthen my nails. I decided to try it. I asked how long it lasts and got a vague answer and some nonsense about not washing my hands. Gross. Anyhow, it was quite painful at times but I really wanted it done. It took an hour and a half. I would rather have my bitten nails than what I ended up with. I look like I have pink gumballs for nails. They are uneven and if you look at my photos you can see where some of the nails stick up pretty far from my nail bed. The polish is uneven and my cuticles are painted. But.... I am not biting my nails. After spending $72 (with tip) I decided to leave them on until they fall off (and yes I will wash my hands) as I'm not going to waste my money. Maybe they are fine for getting plain polish.... But I'll only be back to get these damn nails off. And maybe not even then. read more

I've been here more than a handful of times and I'm always pleased. They work quick and accurately. I always get a new color every week, and maybe a fill in once every two weeks. Every time I visit, typically on Friday's, it's usually after 7 pm, super quiet and lovely. I visited on a Saturday once because of conflicting scheduling on my part, and it was a couple of other ladies waiting. I sat down and I was serviced immediately. They don't really hold conversation, so if that's a big deal to you, then I don't suggest coming here. I personally don't mind, I don't like talking that much to begin with. It smells amazing when I come in, and it is always clean! There are virtually no problems with my visit. read more

This place was hyped up to be the best in St Mathews from a friend, I ended up booking there late in the day on a Friday for 7:15pm (they close at 8) and came early at 6:45pm. One of the women who greeted me was incredibly kind and had me sign in for my acrylic fill in and sit at a chair where a male technician was waiting for me. (I don't remember his name), he never once said hello or even spoke a word to me other than when he barked an order. He was incredibly cold and rude and rough, and when I asked him to maybe slow down and not be so rough and not make my nails so sore, he looked at me and got frustrated and spoke to me like I was stupid. Before he painted my nails I insisted on paying, I asked what I owed and he said $18 for a fill in. The sign literally had a set price of $15 for a fill in on the other wall. So I just gave him a $20 and told him to keep the change. He upped the price $3 for no reason, so he can have a $2 tip. Mind you, I work in the service industry so I know to tip $10 to all of my manicurists anytime I get my nails done, I'm not new to this. But I couldn't believe how rude he was, and no one said anything to him, I felt SO UNCOMFORTABLE, and my nails were half assed. I'll never return back. It was honestly the worst nail experience ever. He was way too rough and my nails are still sore days later, and they bled. read more
