Buying postage stamps in person... Did you ever leave a business and think: "I should have bought _____." That's what happened after I left Sierra Madre's Post Office. As I was driving to my next destination, I thought that I should have purchased more stamps. Just then, I saw this post office in Arcadia and made a quick left into the driveway - after the post office - because there was a van coming out of the driveway closest to the post office. Turns out that what I did was correct. The driveway closest to the post office is one-way out only. I read the reviews about the older Asian female worker. She was scolding the customer in front of me. Oh wow. When it was my turn, I wondered if she was going to yell at me for paying in coins. Haha! I took a chance and unloaded what felt like five pounds worth of nickels, dimes, and quarters! It's good to put them back into circulation, right? ... because two international stamps are only $2.90 right now. It's a great time to use coins as payment for this small amount of currency! I thought I counted correctly, but all she said was, "You need ten more cents." That was my cue to give her ten pennies... LOL! Anyway, that's my way of risk-taking. If you read the reviews for this place, they are from YEARS ago. And this actually surprised me, but the reviews are accurate and are still the same til this day. The customer service is SO bad. Came in here a couple of days ago and the asian lady and asian guy working here were so rude and they made me feel completely idiotic. I had asked the lady if the boxes were free (cause they're free online and I thought it would be the same if you go in-store) and she responded in the most apathetic but rude tone saying, "YES! You have to pay for them". As for the man, I was shipping my items and on the pin pad, it asks you a question about "how was your service" or "how was youre experience", and as I was about to put the middle button (it shows a face like ), he immediately goes in a presses the thumbs up button. COVID-19: Social distancing is enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. The staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open to the public with limited capacity. They are also sanitizing in between customers. While I was dropping off some packages at this establishment today, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is right behind the building. The parking lot is a bit small, but the parking spaces are decent. If the lot is full, you can just park in the lot next to it. Store & Staff: The staff here is very kind, polite, friendly, and courteous. They accept both cash and credit cards. They shipped my priority mail package that I spend extra on to the wrong country 2 times! I sent a package to Taiwan, and after two weeks idle in the US, it got sent to Japan, and then China, and now it's a month later and they lost the package in China so I had to call for them to send an inquiry to China to send the package back... how do you mess up that bad? The country names don't even sound similar... Moreover, what's the point of having an outdoor mail drop off box if you lock it up most of the time? Obviously it's purpose is so people can drop off letters at any hour regardless if the store itself is closed or not right? I tried to drop off my mail before work - it wasn't even that early anymore - nearing 8 AM... but it was still locked up. Honestly I've never passed by and seen it unlocked, even during the day, meaning everyone has to park and walk into the store... no point in having a drive through mail lane then... like it's annoying but I don't mind walking in to drop off my mail, but what am I supposed to do what it's not store opening hours yet and I need to mail something in the morning??? read more

This review is way overdue and will obviously not change this office's rating, but as a PSA (WARNING) to other customers, please consider going to any other USPS location (even if it's less convenient and further away!!). I've frequented this location multiple times, and the majority of my interactions have been quite unpleasant. Although I'm sure there are exceptions, the staff (for the most part) look extremely miserable, aim to speak to you as little as possible, and treat your packages like trash (tossing them with 0 care/concern). If you've experienced anything different at this office, I envy you! I almost never write negative reviews; this is mainly for the customer who is concerned about the contents of their mail/packages arriving intact and on time, as well as anyone who doesn't want their day ruined by someone who unnecessarily shows you disrespect. I do hope the employees are happy working here, because it certainly doesn't look that way. Come here ONLY if you are in a time crunch and have no other options. Otherwise, you'll find yourself arriving with a smile and leaving with a frown :( read more

This USPS location does not open on weekends. It is located in a good area but it is super small and getting in and out is a pain. Workers move at an even slower pace then most USPS's. Like most public workers, they are always mad and grumpy and the service is meh. read more

Most of the workers here generally do not seem very enthused (though some of them do surprise me with a smile once in a blue moon, it seems). Buuuuuutttttt, to be fair, I can say the same about pretty much every single other USPS office I've been to. Let's face it, the United States Postal Service is generally no more the exemplar of customer service than the Department of Motor Vehicles. I wouldn't say the staff here is rude ... I think "detached" and "withdrawn" might be adjectives that more fairly describe them. Again, by USPS standards, nothing remarkable. One can only imagine how incredibly mind-numbing their jobs are ... everytime I come here, I feel like jokingly asking the staff what Lisa once asked Lunchlady Doris: "Do you remember when you lost your passion for this work"? xD No package I've ever dropped off here has ever failed to reach its intended recipient, and while the staff is not always what one might think of as "friendly", they have always been professional and polite to me. As a bonus, this particular USPS office has a very convenient drive-thru drop-off box for those of us who do not have the time or inclination to walk inside. However, if you do choose to use your legs for more than just working the gas and brake pedals, take comfort in knowing that free parking spaces are usually not hard to find in the lot. read more

I dread dropping my packages here. Older Asian lady is so rude. Tells me to not have my packages scanned with receipt and tells me to just drop off my packages on the side. I don't feel safe just leaving my packages and walking away without a receipt. She pretty much scolded at me and told me how there's long lines and they're so busy when at that time there was literally no one in line or there besides me. The one in Pasadena by my house is way nicer. This one is just more convenient but unfortunately the worst post office I've been to. read more

Ordered some expensive camera equipment worth around $1,200 and they shipped through USPS. My tracking showed the package went through this station and was marked as "delivered." The package wasn't on my doorstep and, in fact, no mail was delivered on our street that day. When I went in person they confirmed that the packaged was "misdelivered" and was shown as scanned at my neighbor's two houses down. They said they would try and recover the package, and I could also go speak with my neighbors myself. When I went to talk to my neighbors (who I know are good people) they confirmed they never received my package or any mail that day like the other homes on my street. I went back to the post office and they said there is nothing they can do and they can't even ask the mail man because someone was filling in for our regular mail man that day. Sounds to me like mail theft. The Post Office worker said the best I could do is speak to the supervisor but "they're not in until later and will have to call you back." The supervisor never follows through and calls, and the "supervisor number" they give you just takes you to their generic phone tree no one ever answers. I gave up and had to resolve the issue with my credit card company. Never ship anything important through this USPS station. There are clearly crooks working there and the staff at the front desk are unhelpful and don't care. Stick to FedEx or UPS read more

I appreciate US Postal workers! However, where are our mails these days? Just received more than 20 mails post dated February 1st through 25th on March 10, 2021!!! Tried to contact our local USPS but no one answers the phone. And when tried the USPS main line the automated system says try to reach local post office Maybe they are overwhelmed bc I feel that It has been sending us running around without being able to speak to someone about this. Perhaps I will need to make a trip down to the post office personally to discuss this matter. Update: Just realized that it was not our regular mailman making our USPS mail delivery. The other mail person was very good. Could it be the change of the mail person caused our mail to be delayed by one month???!!! I'll make a trip to our local post office and find out. Good luck! Always my go to when shipping packages for my Poshmark sales. One of the workers was actually sweet and helped me find a box to fit this obnoxiously large and stiff Kate Spade purse I was trying to ship. There's always one not so friendly lady always working there but she's harmless. Lines have been shorter and faster than the Temple City location. They also have huge shields installed for safety and masks are indeed required. read more

While I certainly agree with many of the posters on here, to explain the inefficiencies and shortcomings of this particular USPS, might I suggest to all assembled yelpers, here and now, that collectively, we are going about this all wrong. Before you disagree with me, let me explain: USPS, DMV, even your local library at times, presents us with a unique opportunity. That opportunity is to see, despite the obvious challenges, just how long our patience can last. This free training program is offered by the USPS on a daily basis at so many of their government retail locations. You don't have to sign up... You do not need to enroll... You simply show up to the location, and you can take their free training course on how to endure the shortcomings, misgivings, misdirection, fallacies, canards, and out right nastiness of their professional trainers. Many jobs - - retail, educational administration, customer service, auto repair, counseling- - Require workers to maintain a modicum of compassion and endurance of character in the face of clientele. USPS has none of that requirement. The astounding mediocrity presented in simple sentences, one word responses to your complex questions, angry glances, long disappointed sighs, and inflammatory body language will challenge even the most compassionate person to maintain a gleeful, positive attitude. What better way to train yourself to deal with the human condition, than to venture into your local post office, stand in a long line, and when you finally reach the desk, empower your psyche and expand your mind to embrace your own generosity, kindness, and ability to smile --no matter what. Sure, they may end up losing your package, scowling at you, insulting your intelligence with base remarks and the kind of malevolence you might only expect from a drill sergeant with diarrhea and a bad hangnail. I added this business because I'm thinking other reviewers who reviewed the one on Wheeler Ave. were actually looking for this one, haha. (simply because they mentioned that the the white lady is nice) but the Korean lady is not. Yesterday I came in to mail two items: a letter to China and a book to Texas. After mailing the letter, I asked her to mail the book via media mail and she told me to go to the back of the line. I DON'T GET IT. How hard is it to do multiple transactions per person, how is it any different if I go back to the line or not?! Banks do it! Her bad attitude pissed me off, but I just timidly went back to the line because I was afraid if I spoke up she would ruin my mailings; you know how b*tchy women can get. =x I've dealt with this lady many times before but this encounter stood out to me because I noticed how she gives receipts back to customers. She doesn't hand it back but flings it back to customers like a Frisbee. Geezaloo. Even when she speaks Korean to Korean customers she doesn't seem nice, I thought people were nice to their own. In addition, she has no expression on her face. which makes her look scary. o_O As someone who wants to go into public administration, I suggest training workers better or fire them. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Waited in line for almost 20 min to have my packages scanned. i printed the labels at home to make THEIR JOB easier. To ensure my packages actually get scanned and processed i asked her to scan them after patiently waiting my turn. I've had issues before where my packages don't get scanned and they say they cant do anything because there's no evidence they were ever in possession. I had a total of 9 small mailers. She scanned 3 and when she saw i had 6 more, she stopped and said she will not scan anymore and began to lecture me how she doesnt have time and there's other people. Literally, the amount of time it took her to deny me and lecture me about "how it works", she could have simply scanned them in. She literally stood there and refused to scan them and told me to place them to the side and she will scan them when she has time. So basically, other customers are more important.......?????? RUDE. INEFFICIENT. LAZY. This worker does not give the usps a good name at all. read more

What happened to Rosa? She was a cherry faced person who was always helpful and nice. The Korean lady has been gone for ages. We are left with the Chinese guy with the attitude and an Asian lady who was slow as molasses. If the Chinese guy can process two or three customers to one of the Asian lady's, she is really slow or doesn't care. She let someone fill out their paperwork at her counter instead of telling them to step aside like they all do. So hopefully Rosa will return and I can update this review or the new lady speeds up and I can updated this review as well. read more

This place isn't that bad. There's generally only two people at the counters, and this does affect the time it takes depending on the size of the line. It's worth noting that this isn't the main post office of Arcadia, rather a small branch to the side that is closer and easier to access for some people. (Also has a bunch of PO Boxes) The actual main office is over in Wheeler Ave. That's also where the packages go through before being sent out to residents of Arcadia. (in case you get a pick up notice) The employees are nice and helpful face-to-face, and they've been the same for the last several years as of writing this. Could things be better? I suppose they could add another employee to the counter when the lines get long, but usually they aren't in my experience. The place is pretty average. I see many low reviews for this place, and they were certainly bad experiences, but I have a feeling it's the minority (bad days and mistakes happen). After all, if your day at the post office went normal, you wouldn't write a review on yelp about it would you? Ultimately though, this place is pretty average. Just wanted to let people reading this know it's not that bad. Not special or anything, but handy if it's the closest USPS office you've got. read more

The older asian woman with short hair and glasses is the rudest bitch I've ever encountered at any business EVER! Upon asking for a pen, because they had none, she told me to, "Ask him..." pointing to another clerk who was clearly helping someone else. Dumbfounded, I asked her again to which she shouted at me, "ASK HIM, ASK HIM!!!". I said, "Maam, are you kidding me?". She yelled the same thing again even louder while pointing to her co-worker. Finally, he stops what he's doing with his customer and reaches over the counter to hand me a pen. I hate coming here when I have to. The older Asian lady Chong is always so rude, not helpful and impatient. It is always low staff so we always have to wait in line for almost eternity but we patiently wait for her because we know she's by herself, then when we finally get to her, GOD FORBID we ask questions because she makes you feel stupid. She is not patient with us, if you're not ready, she sends you back to the end of the line feeling clueless. I AM ALWAYS LEFT TERRIBLY DISTRAUGHT after coming to this post office. The workers are awful. Sometimes they even ignore you until you leave. I have come to this location several times and there is no one up front to help you and when you call for the people in the back to help they either ignore you or say "busy." Theres a line of people waiting and no one to help. There's also no drop off for packages, there's no kiosks to buy labels or stamps, if you do make it to the front of the line the workers and lazy and rude and don't care at all to help you. Every time I come to this post office I literally leave in rage and today was no different. The person helping me didn't listen to what I came to do, and I ended up paying for postage for something I didn't want and then she said there's nothing I can do I already paid. I absolutely hate this post office and only come here because of the location but I will not come here anymore for my own sanity. Do yourself a favor & DO NOT come to this post office. First time round I dropped of a package which needed to be delivered urgently and I had all the packaging and labels done correctly as instructed on the label. The stupid woman behind the desk pulled out my label and started cutting it up saying it was going to "confuse" the shippers. Well a week later I got the parcel returned to me because the label had been tampered with by that stupid useless worker at this USPS office!!! I totally missed the deadline for the return shipping and this item cost me over $400!! But of course that imbecile was not at fault, it's MY fault for trusting someone at the USPS store to know what's best to mail a friggin package! Second time around I go to mail a flat rate parcel and the woman behind the desk - this time a different stupid useless woman, tells me it is incorrectly packaged and would not accept it. I don't get it! Just yesterday I was at the Pasadena USPS and the workers there TOLD me to package it like that and that it WOULD be accepted. So I went back to the Pasadena store and had absolutely no issues with mailing through the exact same package!! This USPS in Arcadia is an absolute waste of space, time and resources.
