I called because I was expecting a package and it was "delivered" however I never received it. I spoke to a guy named Vince who was going to investigate and get back to me. First of all he never called me back after a week of speaking to him. When talking on the phone he was very rude and talked over me the whole time. Basically said there was nothing they could do! Since it wasn't insured I am out of the money I spent for my package and no item that I purchased. Over all they have awful customer service and offer no advice. This post office is awful! Twice I've had packages attempted to be delivered that happen to require signature (not mine in particular, mind you). Deliveries were unsuccessful and it was updated in tracking that notices were left when they weren't. I live in an apartment complex and the delivery person didn't even attempt to drop my packages off with the front office, after going to my door. And now, trying to get ahold of and recover my packages from the actual post office has been a nightmare. Apparently these employees don't feel it necessary to adhere to their business hours, they don't really enjoy dealing with customers on the phone, and multiple phone calls have resulted in ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but a busy signal for hours at a time, or no answer whatsoever! read more

As has been said in so many reviews, one star is too much! It was great up until now with minor problems such as surly customers, long lines, not enough people and a few grouchy clerks. The reason for one star actually started on the 4th of this month. We knew we were going away for a few days, and put a mail hold starting on the 7th and ending on the 10th. Before we left, I saw a package had been left at a parcel box but we didn't have a key to get into it. I didn't know another package was delivered at the same time because Amazon Prime doesn't send me notifications to my email address. On the 7th, I saw that the package was delivered on the 4th of November, and, as stated, no key was left in our main box. Called the PO and they said the package was delivered. Really?????? An investigation was started (laughing hysterically) and it said it would be redelivered. Ok. Back to reality on the 9th. NO packages were in our box, BUT there was mail, so, the mail hold was a joke. Called the Chula Vista PO, Jester said, good news and bad news: the mail that was in the boxes WAS taken out and back to the PO. Confused yet? So far, the key was never left, the mail hold wasn't actually honored, mail that was delivered was taken back. Jester promised me that the mail they had was going to be delivered on the 10th personally to our door. Uh....didn't happen. Called them again, they never answered. Called the 1-800-ASK-USPS, and of course had to go through the whole thing again. Got a case #. Today, it's Veteran's Day. Not open. So, the delivery that I was made on the 4th minus the key is now going to be able to be either picked up or delivered on the 13th. That is 9 days (7 days counting work days) that my items were not delivered. Customer service? If you consider being told one story and it's not true ok, then you have a very warped sense that the PO is doing their job. read more

I've never really had a problem with this post office until recently: 1) one time, my online tracking said my package was "out for delivery" but never came on that day. I tried calling the post office a couple days later and it took a few tries before someone finally answered. when they did, they put me on hold for about 45 minutes until their closing time so I just gave up and hung up. my package was eventually delivered about 4-5 days after the expected date 2) they had accidentally delivered someone else's package to my front door. its really not a big deal though, I understand that it happens sometimes 3) last week my package said it was "delivered" but I didn't receive anything in my mailbox or my front door. I waited a few days and still nothing so I called the post office and this man, Richard I believe his name was?? im not sure, was kind to promptly help me and not put me on hold. he then made a note of my info and my package tracking number and told me to call back on Monday. come Monday, I called and no one picked up my call until the 4th time. then I was put on hold again and when someone finally answered, it was Frank I believe, he was rude and it was obvious he didn't care much about my issue. and then once again I was put on hold. I finally talked to a lady who I think is my neighborhood mail carrier and she took my info down and said she would call me back if she found anything out. I didn't think she would ever call me back, but to my surprise she actually did! and she explained to me what had happened and apologized and that she went ahead and delivered the package. so bravo to those two employees who actually took the time to help me! because usually people have no luck with the USPS. I just wish I could remember my mail carrier's name (started with a K maybe?). read more

This is the post office that my mail gets "delivered" from. I have had multiple packages that have been marked as delivered but have never ended up in my mailbox from my mailman who works out of this office. Every time I have tried to call to complain about it and find out what is going on the phone just rings and rings and never gets answered. It's ridiculous that we pay for these services and get such a crappy return on our investment in using the post office when I get better service from FedEx and UPS. I know my mailman knows who I am because he treated me by name in the first few weeks after I moved into my new home. So how does one completely miss the fact that the mail is going into the wrong box? Something needs to be done to fix this because I'm sure the company I order stuff from is getting tired of having to send me multiples of the same product in hopes that one of them actually gets delivered correctly. read more

This post office is a joke! I tried being nice, but I am loosing my temper. I had two packages sent to the wrong address. I have no clue how you mail packages to the wrong address when the address is clearly on the label!!!! Complete idiots. I spoke to two different supervisors and none of them knew how or why this happened. They just told me what I wanted to hear, "I will send someone to pickup the packages and call you to let you know if we found them." Well, I never received a phone call from any of the supervisors, my packages are still somewhere out there in the hands of someone else. Keep in mind these are my own personal family pictures that someone else has!! The supervisor, James, gave me a phone number to call.....I have called them multiple times and no one seems to answer the phone!!!!! I am fed up with this postal service. Yesterday I went in because I got one of thos pink slips to pickup package. I guessed they missed me. And at the counter that I went had a sign that read closed but yet they were helping people. So when I got my turn the guy said that the package would arrive today due to the fact that the mail carrier was still out. So today I go to the same place where the sign said closed. This place is ok if you don't have to go to the counter. If you're just going to drop off a leter or pick up something it's ok. But if you have to deal with the ladies that work the desk, you're screwed. They have the most horrid attitude and get defensive. I seen it happen to older people. Yes, they abuse the elderly. I thought that was illegal by labor law? if you have any problem with a missing letter or package, just forget it. All of these ladies working the desk are rude and will just tell you to go away. I've seen the asian older lady scream at people and tell them to move over. The supervisor doesn't care about anyone, he just cares about his paycheck, they all do. Government officials just being lazy and taking money from taxpayers. I recommend doing all your stuff on usps.com and ignoring this post office. Don't go there if you don't have to. In my opinion all the ladies at the counter need to be put in corrective action and know the customer is always right. Bottom line? I seen better post offices in Carlsbad and Valley Center. The Chula Vista usps has now mis delivered 2 of my parcels within the last 2 weeks! I hope that the selfish neighbor who did get my husbands Halloween costume really appreciates it, being on a very tight budget i cannot afford to buy another & we needed this for the weekend Halloween party we are attending. Addy, I think is her name (the lady who helps with the self-service machine) was trying to help a guy with the machine and I never used it so I asked her if she could show us all at once and she told me I had to wait my turn so I was like that's crazy just show us now then we both know how to use it. If there was a minus star I would rate that! Just in the past year or so, I have had so much trouble with the USPS! My regular mail carrier is a gem, but it seems they have float carriers more often than not. I had a MC straight lie to her superior that she "personally handed my packet to me." Really, cause my neighbor had it and it was left at her front door. The most recent incident, was a family member sent me a letter marked "photos," *actually cash, and it never arrived!!!! HMMMMMMM maybe the "photos," marking is known to have cash. Well she was generous enough to send it, and I never received it. Shame shame shame on whoever STOLE IT. I was hoping I would get some assistance for a returned package I dropped off so I called this branch and spoke to Kathy. All I was hoping to get was an estimated delivery date for a returned package but all she kept saying was we ship the same day. Its like a scripted line they use "we ship the same day". I also asked why my tracking number never got updated and she said they didn't scan it. Wow so why even have a tracking system if USPS employees simply refuse to use it? They have the most horrible customer service I ever experienced! I came in without my tracking slip because it was misplaced, usually you can just come in with an id to pick up your mail. A guy named Gregory came up to help me and he asked for my slip and I told him "I misplaced it but here is my drivers license". He responded "that's what they all say" I don't know why he was even rude to me to begin with. He proceeded to help other people behind me telling me to look for my tracking. He ignored me several times. Another lady came out and I asked her so she still handed it off to Gregory who was no help to begin with. After about an hour and I was the last one there he than went to look for less than a minute and still told me it wasn't there. I was so upset and ended up just leaving. If you don't like your job don't take it out on other people. I end up making an claim on my item and against the employee who was very rude. So here is my problem the supervisor and post master if you have to deal with them both of those ladies can give you a hard time and not help you, I have had a couple of times where my items state delivered of course because they receive them since I have a po box there the delivery states the employee names and they instead of looking for my item say it has been delivered this has happened to me twice quite a pain to deal with them and then the told me "just don't have a po box with us then" seriously? After multiple times of bothering them I finally got my items. That Silva lady is not polite your meant to be the supervisor. Hopefully they change them up or they change their attitudes I have filed some complaints directly to the offices hopefully they take care of this soon. Other than that the rest of the staff is great they are polite and help you out with shipments on getting the lowest rate. Just note if that supervisor is still around she won't help you and just give you attitude. I also had another issue with them delivering packages home they left an item in the rain while I was not around the box was wet and the items inside too I was just glad it wasn't something electronic, and at the moment they have an item that states was delivered to my home but I never received, it was an item that costed 100+ thank you USPS for having me loose trust. Next time I ship things I will go to the UPS because all the items that pass from san ysidro to Chula Vista go thought this post office sadly read more

mailman so lazy and would always leave the slip note saying i missed the package without even trying to knock or use the doorbell when im always available at home since i work nights and im up already by 12noon. this has happened atleast 5 times, and there was a time when i actually walked outside and caught up with him handing him the slip note (so i dont have to drive to post office the next day to pick it up), he said "were you sleeping?". lol terrible, he doesnt knock or use the doorbell so theres no way i would know anyway. read more
