First, they are not at all thrilled when you walk in the door. The energy was so bad but I needed stamps. I asked for two books at $12 each, right? I was charged $50 for 2 books of letter stamps. I could have walked out, should have, but was there on a work break and needed the stamps. She push over 2 books of Christmas stamps. I asked for something different. Very put out that she had to go look and see it they had any other stamps. They didn't. The Postal annex only has christmas stamps. What? That was my last visit. I rarely make trips to Postal Annex, most especially to this one since I had an "OK" experience here back in 2018. After that time, I didn't think I would be back again for a visit. However, being the fact that I was in the area recently and this postal annex was the most convenient location for me on a weekday to simply drop off a package that needed to be mailed out, I figured I'd be in and out in less than a minute. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fulfill such a simple task since the store was still closed at the time that I arrived at about 9 AM. As I patiently waited in my car for a staff member to unlock the door, customers were showing up left and right, pacing back and forth, peeking through the window, and wondering just like me, "why is this Postal Annex still closed after 9 AM when the store hours state they would be open at this time?". One of the customers that waited outside grew impatient and used one of his own keys to unlock the door himself. After several failed attempts, he left, and other customers that waited followed suit. At this point, it wasn't worth my time to continue waiting, so I decided to leave just like everyone else. What's the point of having your business hours open from 8:30 AM - 6 PM on Monday-Fridays? If these hours have changed, please update your website to reflect that. read more

This place is pricy but they have everything you would need at an office. I needed to print something out, ship an item to Utah, and I came across some cute cards and keychains as last minute Christmas finds. Thank you Vivian for being so helpful and patient since I don't really ship anything. Come here if you don't want to make that long line at the post office and don't mind paying a little extra. This place is great. Small and easy to maneuver around. You'll find what you need real easy or if you can't, just ask. It's real easy, quick, and simple. Just how a post office is supposed to be. I went in there to send out a payment. I'm usually real hesitant about adding in the extra insurance but I ended up getting it anyways. Not only were they considerate about the $7 fee for the tracking but they know it's better to add it on if it's something of great significance. So go check it out! It local and they're great help. All I can say is that the service was slow and average. The employees seem to take their time even though there is a line of 5 or more customers. I was only there to drop off my mail and to pay for its postage so I don't know what their prices are for other items. Do not use them for postal services! They overcharge to extreme. I had an 8.5x11" bubble mailer to mail out via USPS and they wanted to charge me $16 to ship a less than 15oz bubble mailer. I checked on stamps.com before leaving the house and they said it should cost roughly $2.50 to mail it. When I questioned the guy helping me, he looked at me like I was crazy. I was not about to pay $16 for mail service that I knew cost less than 1/4 of that price. They clearly try to charge whatever they want. I ended up going to Staples, buying a postage scale, and printing a shipping label off Stamps.com. Total cost to ship... $2.55 with First Class Mail and only $6 with Priority. Neither were anywhere near the $16 they quoted me! Save your money and either do it from home or go to an actual USPS location. read more

i came in the other day to ship out two shoe boxes but i did not have a box to ship them out. i asked THE GUY if i can send them out. i thought he was gonna charge me for boxes, but he took them and said "okay." i thought he forgot to charge me. only later to find out that the idiot worker taped the shipping label DIRECTLY ONTO the shoe box, RUINING the shoe box. so they decided to send back my shoes because they weren't shipped or boxes correctly. THANKS TO THE IDIOT WORKER THAT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO CORRECTLY SEND THINGS OUT, but works at a postal annex? why do you work there?! it's common sense! so dumb! read more

Hey, Postal Annex...find my "lost" and unaccounted for UPS package, which I handed directly to you. If not, the BBB complaint is next. Check your cameras, cupboards, employees, etc. There is an expensive textbook in there and you failed to scan my package, which is substandard for this type of business. Making it my fault by saying I didn't ask for a receipt is ludicrous; I implied it yet you looked at me confused and said just "use the tracking number." UPS claims they never received it from you. For now, I will tell everyone in the Chula Vista area to avoid you like I did my third Army reenlistment. Make this right in the next three days, and your business can continue without a BBB complaint. If not, this complaint will also be followed by what happened when I personally went to speak to your manager about this incident. read more

I have been standing here for nearly 5 minutes, all I need a stamp. There are two women standing in front of me & they are not helping me.

Second time I make the trip and they are closed earlier then posted signs. I even asked the guy and he kept waving me away.

I started getting color copies of a newsletter I write for my sons flag football team. This location had the cheapest price for color copies. I came in last week to get copies for the 3 edition and the price went from .39 cents to over .55 cents per color copy. Although the girl honored the previous price I'm very disappointed postal annex jacked the price up like that. I went out of my way to get copies with them. Not sure if I will return. read more

Very helpful and courteous staff. Although it's a small store it is never crowded because the staff is very efficient and will handle each customer's needs quickly. The young man helped me with printing out and faxing an e-mail. It has the basic office supplies that one needs in a pinch. read more

DO NOT use this place. They are third party postal carriers so they can charge what ever they want for postage. They claim they can show u what others charge but it's not true. Today I had an appointment for a Livescan at this location, and it was the worst experience I have ever had. I don't usually write reviews but this was an exception. The girl who did my livescan honeslty did not know what she was doing. She also didn't seem very friendly at all, she kind of had a "whatever" attitude. First, she took my picture, didn't even give me a countdown and just took it randomly. The picture turned out ugly and blurry, but to her it was okay, whatever. I think I even saw her giggling at the ugly picture which was rude and unprofessional. Next was the fingerprinting which she could not get to work even though she tried over and over. I've done a livescan before and I know they're supposed to spray something on your hands to make the prints stand out more but this girl barely sprayed my hands at all which contributed to her difficulty in obtaining my prints. The computer kept saying "these prints are not ideal" for almost each one that she did and she had to redo them over and over again. And even when she did get them to appear, the prints did not look good or legible at all. But I guess she thought it was okay so she continued on, once again with her "whatever" attitude. The last finger that she scanned was the most frustrating for her because they wouldn't show up, so she decided be lazy and ended up spraying my finger while it was on the scanner. There was water blotches all over the scanner and she didn't even wait for my finger to dry even a little bit before she scanned it. It ended up scanning a big blotch of black, which looked nothing like a print at all. By the end, she was obviously over it and was frustrated the whole time. She made me sign it and then told me that was it. She left right after that, then disappeared into the back, never to be seen again. She didn't even say thank you, nothing. She just walked away. Okay... You're paying $80+ dollars for this service and the least they can do is do it properly, especially since it's for FBI checks which are vital to employment opportunities. I'm hoping that by some miracle, my prints will be legible even after all of that. But I wouldn't be surprised if they email me telling me to get them re-done. Obviously this would delay the processing of my application that requires this livescan and I will not be very happy about that. All of this could be avoided if this store had just provided the correct training and hired employees with professionalism. Bottom line: don't get your livescan done here. Especially with this girl working there and doing it for you. read more

Missing notary signing owner at this location! Avoid this Postal Annex East Palomar location at all cost. On 11/2/16 at approximately 10am, I went to this Postal Annex location to get a notary signed. Mark was the only employee there and he was not authorized/trained to handle notaries. The OWNER was the only one who could take care of it BUT he was nowhere to be found. Mark CALLED THE OWNER'S CELL PHONE ABOUT 4 TIMES IN THE SPAN OF 25 MINUTES AND HE DID NOT ANSWER HIS PHONE! Unbelievable! There could have been a serious problem and this owner was nowhere to be found! Mark said he thought the owner was hanging out at the coffee shop or restaurant next door. He apologized for his boss many times. I told him he didn't need to apologize for his lazy, unprofessional boss who intentionally ignores his employee's phone calls while he takes a break. I finally left and drove to the East H location. It turned out to be a nicer location anyway with carpeted floors. The woman there who happened to be much older, took care of the notary quickly. She was the only one there. I will be contacting PostalAnnex corporate to report the owner at the East Palomar location. read more
