Postmaster Stephanie is awesome! She saved the day for the Cypress High School Boys Soccer team! The boys senior gifts were delayed but arrived to the Cypress Post Office the morning of senior night. But our mail delivery usually isn't until 5-6pm. The event starts at 4pm so I came to the post office at opening to try to pick up the package before it goes out for delivery. Came in to get my 6 month old daughter her first passport and had a wonderful experience. From start to finish the entire process was 15 maybe 20 mins and super smooth sailing. Probably the best post office experience I have ever had, if I dare say. Parking lot, but I could see it might get easily filled. We came right at opening time, without an apt and the gentleman behind the counter was very accommodating (to be honest we were half ready to have to come back with an apt but he took us on no problem.) We had prefilled out the form online to help move the process quicker but we still needed a photo (passport photos are tricky biz) and he said ok yep no problem to that as well. He got her photo first try! Both parents need to be present with IDs, don't forget to make a photo copy of both parents IDs as well. Heads up you can pay only by check or debit card- thank goodness we had a debit card on us. All in all a bit pricey but we opted for expedited, with a processing time of 2-3 weeks versus 6-8 weeks, I did feel that was worth it for an extra $60. Her passport will only be good for 5 years but will definitely look to returning to this post office if we are still in the area. Thanks for your help today Michael! read more

On 8/12/25 I visited the Cypress USPS location because I had received an email indicating that my package was available for pickup at the address provided. When I arrived as Waze instructed me to this location, I explained to Donald that I was there to pick up my package. Instead of clearly informing me that my package was with UPS and not USPS, Donald repeatedly stated, "This is Cypress, and your email says Buena Park," without offering any further clarification. I asks him more questions to try to get more information bc he was so vague. I showed my ID because I thought he was going to verify my package, but instead he commented on my home address (Long Beach) in a way that was irrelevant to the situation. then he started asking me if I still live there and stuff and I'm just like it doesn't matter where I live. I'm just here to pick up a package and wondering if it's here that I pick up! I'm just trying to get clarification. At no point did he simply and directly explain that I was at the wrong carrier and that UPS was the correct location. This lack of communication caused unnecessary confusion and wasted time. A professional approach would have been to clearly state: "This is USPS, not UPS. Your package is with UPS, which is located nearby at address" Instead, I felt that Donald's responses were dismissive and unnecessarily difficult, which created a frustrating experience for me as a customer. I had to figure out myself that the address in the email was slightly different than that address at the United States post office and I said you know what Donald you could've just said this is a different carrier. Your package will be at UPS so pick up there which is across from this location. That was it right?! but he wanted to be difficult and be rude and he didn't know how to properly communicate. I hope this matter can be addressed to ensure that future customers receive clear, helpful, and professional guidance when they visit USPS locations. read more

Not only has the postmaster of this post office illegally withheld my mail off and on for over 4 years now, I regularly get denied mail intended for family members whose business I have to handle. Last month last month they refused to give me a registered mail letter from I don't know who? Because there's no name listed on the paperwork, so they just sent it back even though I have talked to my delivery person several times during the period in which he was supposed to be delivering it. And now today, I get a tax letter from the county about my property which has been completely ripped open. I don't know what the hell is going on at this post office? But the lady who runs it has made threats to me, telling me she has been listening to me through my devices. When I asked what the hell she was talking about? She said nothing. She is also claimed that asking why my mail isn't being delivered is considered a legal threat against her and the department even though she has no legal cause to do so. Once she even refused to deliver my mail because she said there was a bicycle in the driveway blocking her delivery person's path. I have attempted to contact the post office and the office of the inspector general to no real result. She is even said if I try to pursue any issues with her, she was going to refuse to deliver mail to my entire neighborhood so they would threaten me to get in line with what she had been doing to me. This isn't a simple complaint about long lines and bad service, this woman is a criminal and that's the end of it if anyone else is having this kind of problem with the post office? You should file a complaint as fast as you can, I tried to work with her but everything I did to accommodate her just made her worse. I have no idea how she got this job or how she keeps it. Was having a great day and had to mail something certified with A Return receipt.. Couldn't find any certified forms to fill out so I only filled the return receipt knowing that the certified form only needs to be stamped and doesn't take time to even fill or not fill out at the counter. While it was busy and the line was long, A lady customer got upset and yelled at the clerk ID: 50 because she wanted him to weigh the boxes first then if it was over weight she wanted to move the items into a different box which maybe he didn't know or understand what she was trying to do. She then requested for another clerk to help her. So I was the next one he called up. As I approached, I told him I wanted to mail my mail certified with a return receipt and then he asked rudely, "where's the certified form? " I told him that there was none out there and that you guys were busy so I didn't want to cut in line to ask for one in respect. The certified mail is pretty much just A form that he can stamp on the form and didn't take additional time for him to grab one from his shelf and stamp it, transferred the tracking label sticker onto the green return receipt. I just told him, that he must be having a bad day and to just be nice to the customers and that I am now having a bad day also. Later, clerk # 50 seemed to calm down and was nicer. I hope he was just having a bad day and deep down is A nice person. read more

PASSPORT EXPERIENCE: Right when I walked in with my dad and son, the lovely postman at the counter acknowledged us right away, asked if we had a passport appointment and directed us where we needed to wait. We were 15 minutes early to our first appointment, Noel took us right away since there was no wait. Having all your documents organized and photo copies ready helped speed things along. All three passport applications, plus two passport photos all done within 25 minutes top ! Would schedule future appointments at this facility again. The employee helping me (didn't catch his name unfortunately because I was embarrassed and avoided eye contact) said "I bet you were a Girl Scout when you were younger" and with a 5 o'clock shadow on me I was kind of shocked he assumed I'm afab. This is one of my favorite post office! I send out letters and packages from here and they are always friendly. My packages got delivered 2 days earlier than scheduled over the holidays. Awesome job and thank you for working so hard during this difficult time. Something I would like customers to think about... like the picture I added, please do your part and be prepared before reaching the window. Don't ask them to do your work. This person was asking for this box and that box, even asking him to add more tissue papers! Seriously on a rainy day late afternoon before they are about to close and others are waiting behind you. 7/22/2023, I have been very disappointed in this post office for at least the past 7 years and it doesn't stop. When I came into this post office on Saturday morning around 11am and told the rude won't let me speak Filipino clerk with the glasses that I wanted to know when my PO Box expires he didn't at all want to walk to the back to find out on my box when it expires. When he did go check he came back out saying in a rude manner September 3rd 2023. When I told him that I won't be renewing it because we bought a new house along the coast he got a bit more loud and rude with me telling me that I had my box a long time since 1990s. I had been feeling sick and lightheaded from fighting a bacterial infection, so I didn't want at all to deal with him and his loud attitude. I asked him for a forwarding address card, he literally threw it at me, I filled it out and returned it to him. When I asked him if the card would also forward the other person on my box mail whom is moving into the new home with me, he got louder and more rude with him saying to me, "You Should Have Told Me Someone Else Is On The Box!" Then he ripped off another card and tossed it at me. Was this guy having a bad morning or what? And taking out all his frustrations onto me? OMG! , I said to him, "Sorry, but I am no mind reader". I filled out the second forwarding address card and when he called me over to come back to his window only to embarrass me more in front of all the people standing in line, I refused and just let the woman in back of me go ahead of me instead. I went to another postal office window guy who just came back from a break, he was much nicer to me in explained something important about when exactly my box will close. I'm thrilled that I am finally closing my PO Box here. I won't need to deal with that guy's attitude anymore nor will I have to pay for the post office forever increasing annual price for such a small PO Box that I have here. When I first got the box my annual price was just $23, now it's $218. Come January 1st, 2024 the price will increase to $243. It's totally ridiculous to continue to have a PO Box when price increases at the post office are totally usurped and out of control. More people seriously need to complain about it and/or cancel their services. read more

The mail carrier for my apartments keeps putting my items in a parcel locker without giving me the key. I went to the post office today hoping I could get one and spoke with the supervisor. Well the mail carrier said he's given it to me but if I've been unable to get my items the first time you know the key is gone so why would you place my package in their a second time. I think he's assuming I've stolen the key and will use it to open the locker so they can get it back. I am not a theif! Something is weird about this post office. There are good reviews exclaiming good service, but I've been here twice and still had the same experience. The staff here seems rude and stuck up. Maybe they are tired of people not knowing what they're doing when they go to the post office and they have to deal with that, I don't know. Or they're trying really hard to differentiate themselves from a shipping service..? So don't expect them to tape anything up for you, or use any of their tape except the priority tape, print out a label, take your package for you to set it to the designated parcel or mail location .. literally nothing. Just assume all they want to do is scan things, beep and off you go out of their hair asap. read more

Came here for wife's new passport appt. We came 15 mins early than our appointed time(website requires 10 mins early). When post office staff saw my wife when it was her turn "You're (wife's name) right?" My wife said yes and staff said "I'll help him first" then pointed to the person behind my wife who came 5 mins after my wife came and didn't have an appt. The window has a sign no appt no service what kind of service is this. My wife had an appt and came earlier than suggested time but staff skipped her and assisted someone who had NO APPT. This is rather embarrassing but today was literally only the 2nd time I've ever stepped inside of a post office and also my very first time ever needing to ship out a package. So the first thing I told the clerk was I that I didn't know what I was doing since I've never mailed a package before. Anyways I didn't catch the clerk's name but he was a Filipino guy in his 50's. He was helpful but also way too pushy and was rushing me the whole time. Also he informed me that I would need to buy tape if I needed it next time, but a woman came in after me and didn't have tape either yet he didn't tell her to buy tape?? I only needed 2 strips of the thin clear tape for my label and he was very stingy about it jeez! It felt like he tried to take advantage of the fact that it was my first time sending out a package, so he thought he could convince me to spend more money than I needed to on unnecessary things. Located at the corner of Knott and La Palma across from the Library sits one of very few post offices that stay open till 6:00pm and have Saturday hours and always have at least 4 friendly postal workers on site. Be warned parking here sucks. I mean really sucks. Your better off parking in the back and walking. This is also one of a few post offices that offer self service machines so you can advoid the lines. The machines are brand new and located in the main room of the post office where the line is. Came here today for me and my daughters passport appointment. We arrived about 20 minutes early and a black lady (not sure if she's a supervisor or just a post office clerk) asked if we had already filled out the passport applications. I told her that we needed some assistance to ensure we were filling out the applications correctly. She seemed a bit irritable and she then pointed her finger at the application in my hand and spoke to me like I was stupid and said "you read all of this right here and then you fill it out". Anyway... The only reason I gave this location 5 stars is because of the clerk who assisted me and my daughters father today. He was an older Filipino gentleman (I don't recall if his name was Noel or Michael) but either way he was very respectful, very patient and polite and very thorough. He made our passport appointment and passport application a real smooth process for us. He even corrected us a few times when my daughters father filled out the application incorrectly but was very polite about it and had him fill out a new application. Once he made sure we had everything in order, he took me and my daughter to the back room to take our passport photos and he made it a very quick, smooth appointment for us! We were literally in and out in about 30 mins or less. However, I did have to call this post office once I got home. I wasn't sure if I left my daughters birth certificate there or if they intentionally kept it since this is her first time applying for a us passport. The lady Stephanie I believe her name was that I spoke to over the phone explained that they will mail all the documents back to me along with me and my daughter's passport. One the best experiences I've ever had at a post office. I went to get my passport done with my boyfriend and we expected the staff to normally be unfriendly due to our past experiences with other post offices. However, the staff at this location were friendly. We also got to check out the cool stamp book which one of the staff members kindly showed us while we waited to complete our passport.
