I have a PO Box at this office because it's closest to my home. But ONLY for that reason. The personnel at this place basically phones it in. If there is a line, and there usually is, your wait will be long. They can't be bothered to move any faster. They have only TWO speeds ... slow and slower. They put in a fancy computerized kiosk scale that takes credit cards ONLY ... and took OUT the coin op machine. So you can't just drop in and buy some stamps with your coins, you HAVE to use a credit or debit card at the kiosk, and THAT too often means lines cuz most folks don't know how to operate the kiosk well or fast. Also, often I will get mail with transposed numbers in MY PO Box because someone can't bother to read the numbers right. So it makes me wonder if MY mail has gone to the wrong boxes too. Sometimes I will come in the lobby, and the employees will be whooping it up in the back room like they are having a party, but the lines will still be going slow in the lobby -- usually with only ONE clerk, maybe TWO. And if ever a THIRD clerk shows up, one of the others will promptly leave for a break. But the proof positive I know these guys are the Post Office's rejects is about 3 or 4 years ago, they were featured on the evening newscast because someone found their political mailers simply DUMPED in a trash bin in the back of the building. Makes you wonder how often it's happened when someone DIDN'T notice. Go to ANY other post office if you can. read more

I used to live only a few blocks from this post office, and recall many visits over the years. Customer service didn't used to be so slow and discourteous, whether it be by phone or in person (or perhaps I've become malcontent and cynical with age?), and before visiting other post offices with dramatically more helpful staff, I thought this type of treatment was to be expected. Now that I print all my outgoing postage with Paypal, I can almost completely avoid interaction with the desk attendants. I do appreciate their drive-thru mailboxes, digital scales, and the such, as well as the good number of PO boxes for rental. As a final tidbit, for those patronizing the weekly farmers' market down the block, the post office parking lot is a good spot to stow your vehicles! read more

It doesn't matter what time or day you come here, it's always hella busy or crowded. It's always the same 2 people working. If one goes to break than its only 1 person running the show. If it's your first time mailing a package, good luck cause you will get lost. Nobody in the front to help you with what you need to fill out till you reach the counter. After you reach the counter and you tell the lady that you need to send this, she will say fill this out and come back after you fill it out. You pretty much been push aside, while she helps somebody else to lessen the line. That's okay with me, but I hope they have somebody in the front to help so we can go in and go out asap. US Post Office - I know... Long line and only one person working. - Post Offices Near Me - Fremont, California

Maybe I picked a better day to go because I went on a Saturday afternoon, and while there were a ton of people there, the line moved faster and more efficiently than any I've ever seen at a post office. (Maybe that's not saying much.) But the workers there were cranking, especially an older Chinese woman who seemed to be the the leader of the bunch. Amazing. Parking lot does seem small, but with this efficiency, there should be quick turnover of spaces. read more

This is the closest USPS to my house. Unfortunately, the service here is spotty and severely understaffed. The postal office itself looks like it is in desperate need of renovation, and the lines here on a Monday morning are absolutely ridiculous. That being said, you will still be able to get what you need done here if you need to. There is street parking available if the parking lot fills up. And as with all post offices, there are dropoff boxes, P.O. boxes, and other conveniences for those of us who have gone to automated online postage and just dropping off packages. (It's cheaper if you buy it online by the way.) Not much to praise about this USPS but it gets the job done. read more

This is your typical US Post Office, but I decided to rate this with 4 stars because my experience at this location (both times) was quite pleasant. I went in to mail a letter internationally, and the ladies there were very helpful and nice. Most people who work for post offices seem to hate their jobs and take it out on the customers, but the people at this post office are pleasant to work with. There isn't much space to park here, but it's a post office, so it's not very crowded anyway, and that shouldn't be an issue. I come to this post office because it is the nearest USPS to my home, but not for any other reason. Service is very slow, and not very helpful. Especially when there is a long line, it could take more than 30 minutes to get a package mailed. Most of the time, there is only 1-2 staff at the counter, even when there is a long line! My advice is to come at an off-hour, weekdays before or after the lunch rush of people trying to run errands on their lunch break. Parking is also very limited! This post office is about 5 minutes from my house so I come here a lot whenever I have to mail something. This post office is ALWAYS crowded and if you need to wait in line, expect a wait time of at least 10 minutes. I wouldn't say customer service is exemplified at this post office but whenever I need to stand in line, the employees are always courteous. Fortunately I use pre-paid postage so I just drop off my package and leave. I would recommend more people use the self-serve automatic postal center on the left because 1) usually there is no one there 2) It is very easy to print postage and it goes step by step It is a great alternative to waiting in line to mail domestic mail and international mail [documents only]. I think people are afraid of trying something new but its really easy and saves a lot of time. The workers [if not busy] will be glad to help you if you have an issue with it. read more

Caught the carrier trampling through my flowers and antagonizing our dog. Our dog already has anxiety and to see this is disturbing. Tried speaking to Ed our mail carrier directly and he denied it. Told him that I saw him teasing our dog and he still denied it said she was the one that was aggressive. I respectfully approached him to stop taunting our dog and he became aggressive towards me. It's shocking to me that a mail carrier is teaching a dog by antagonizing it to be aggressive towards a mail carrier. Another family member caught him on another incident teasing the dog he again said she was the one that aggressive. He's been seen two times being aggressive towards our dog and I just can't imagine how many times without being seen he's taunted her! When the mail carrier was confronted on the second time while being caught antagonizing the dog he referred to us as rednecks and that we were OK customers and if we had a problem with our dog being aggressive maybe we should get her some training and that we could also move our mailbox closer to the street to make it convenient for him. His behavior is unacceptable! He's teasing a dog making racial comments and being extremely aggressive and argumentative with homeowners on our own property. Not sure who this needs to be addressed to you but it definitely will be addressed! Our dog is always either inside the house and he's teasing her through a window or she's behind a locked gate and he's going out of his way to walk up to the gate and tease her through the gate. We've seen it with our own eyes on two different occasions. How many other times has that happened? He has different paths that he can take on his route to avoid going near the gate or the window and he still chooses to go directly to the window and the gate and tease her every chance he gets. He is teaching my dog to be aggressive. This must stop! I'm not just concerned for my dog I'm concerned for every dog in the neighborhood. This man has aggression and needs to be stopped! I find it hard to believe that we are the only home on his entire route that he has this type of behavior with. If anyone has anything similar at all like this please report it. read more

I was here over the weekend (12/10/16) with quite honestly about fifty packages. I was stressed beyond belief as I was doing this over the weekend for work, and planned on taking hours at the post office (I had already been at Staples in their shipping section for a few hours twice that week). I came in to the post office fairly flustered, expecting to be frustrated and disappointed, but was called up to the register by Keum (I hope I'm spelling it correctly). Keum was an absolute DELIGHT. She made an annoying and likely painful process a joy and completely painless. She was incredibly friendly, upbeat, and FAST! I had my packages out the door in less than thirty minutes, and had some lovely conversation along the way. I can't say enough good things about Keum and her fast, friendly service. She comes across as truly caring about her customers - a real gem! Thank you, Keum! read more

Also I am very post saavy, i pack all my priority covers/envelopes before going to the post office unlike people who go there and start the process and ask for everything from the postal employee as if it is their birthright! If I could give zero stars, I would. This is the worst post office that I have ever had the displeasure of having to deal with. I have had mail go missing. I have received mail not only for my neighbors, but for the HSBC bank half a mile down the road! I have had perishable packages that were left at the post office till the food had rotted instead of the package being delivered or disposed of. And now, they have sent back a package saying that I "refused delivery" when in fact they never even attempted to deliver it! To make it worse, Amazon can't send the package back and the item is now sold out. These failings make the long lines and poor face to face service look decent. I wish there was a way to switch to another post office without having to move. :-( read more

"By all means, move at a glacial pace. You KNOW how that thrills me..." Seriously, I do expect a bit of a wait at the post office when I go there on my way to work, but these people don't even seem like they CARE at all. They rarely have more than 1 or 2 people working at the counter, and there's just no sense of urgency at all, you know? They do have one of those automated machines that I prefer to use, but it doesn't let you do media mail. Plus the drop box where you put the package has been broken for quite a while. First it was just really loud when the metal thing would clang, now I think it's stuck, so you put your package in there and close it, but it doesn't drop down through to the other side. So the next person that uses it can open it and take your package out! I just moved to Fremont this year, and I thought there was another post office south of Auto Mall, but maybe it is not a retail location? I'm tempted to start using a different post office, maybe one in Milpitas or San Jose. read more

This is not for just the Fremont office, its for all USPS. The loss rate for packages over the last year has been between 10 and 20 percent (total of 4 packages lost). In addition, tracking is poor at best. Currently I have a package that was supposed to be delivered Feb 13th, it's now the 17th. This package has been stuck in Richmond CA for the past week. This is totally unacceptable. If USPS was a private company they would be out of business. USPS should be shut down and private companies should take over. This place is ridiculous in the sense that they have NO ONE answering their phones! EVER!! First off, whomever they had out on the route this particular day, had NO CLUE what they were doing and for whatever reason had my package returned to the post office because no apartment number?? Like, common sense would tell anyone that the package goes to the front office, which is usually done! However, the tracking online was showing my package was being returned to sender, which was in Wisconsin; I am in California. The issue is that no one from the post office EVER contacted me to say that the package was undeliverable; I found this out by tracking online. I had to call the corporate office, who put out a claim on the package, and I even verified the address two different occasions as being correct, so not sure why the package was even returned in the first place. When trying to call this office to try and have them stop the package from being returned, I sat calling this office for 2 hrs straight before giving up. Like seriously, this shouldn't ever be acceptable in any business to not answer the phones! Long story short, I had to go pick my package up even after having paid for shipping. Even when I got there, the woman told me I had to print the ticket because her system wasn't working. Blah!!! read more

I hate this post office! It's not like I have a choice when it comes to picking up my packages. It always comes to this damn circus of a post office. I was there this morning to pick up a package. They have package pick ups starting at 7:00 in the morning which should be convenient since I work far from home. It's not even close to being convenient!! The door is closed and I have to ring the doorbell for service. The bloody doorbell was broken so I spent five minutes furiously knocking on the door. I was able to peak inside from the mail slot and I saw legs there, so someone could have answered. Finally someone answered and took my packing slip. Ten minutes later someone came back (after I was knocking on the door for a long time) and said they were only able to find one of my two packages and I have to come back. AAAAAAAHHHHH!!! I still have the packing slip, but they made me sign it because one of the two packages was given to me. Hopefully this will work itself out when I go back. This was anything but convenient and the whole ordeal took me 20 minutes. read more

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. I have filed numerous complaints against my mail carrier and nothing is being done. The complaints range from him sorting his mail on the hood of my neighbors car, to walking across my flower bed in my front yard and smashing my flowers, to refusing to ring my door bell or knock on my door when we get certified mail or anything that requires a signature. I have pictures for proof and yet the Irvington Post Office continues to let him deliver to our neighborhood. They have done nothing to correct these issues. I buy and sell comics online. As a result I receive and/or ship about 15 -20 packages a week. I've also worked with other post offices in different towns quite a bit. I have to say this particular post office sucks on both the sending and getting mail part of things. The front desk is slow. I kn, I know, they are a post office and I have should have low expectations going in. But the regular employees here just plain act like they don't care how long you are waiting. They do their job, but they are frickin slow. Also, the mail supplies are often not available in the lobby. The facility is over grown with weeds, dirty, needs paint and other repairs - it looks awful. I've also had problems on getting my mail - particularly with my mailman crushing valuable comics into my small mail box. The one plus is that when I drop something off at their post office - it tends to get to its destination VERY fast. read more

This is an okay post office. If you know what you want. I order padded envelopes online for free and mail packages at a flat rate of $6.10. Place is packed in the morning and after 3:30 during weekdays. Come during lunch or 1-2 for fast service. After that it becomes hell. 20 people 1 person at the counter.
