I just want to say that the gentleman that checks the required documents before giving you a number was amazing. He has patience and he was quick on his feet. Unfortunately, I did not get his name. After receiving a number, we had to wait for our number to be called. We eventually got called by Karla. Karla was extremely sweet. I am glad we sat down with her because the other Post Office employees looked bothered. She and the gentleman deserve a raise. read more

Rating is for passport service only. Horrible....horrible...... wait time. People here are working very very slow. Seems as if they don't care about moving people in and out quickly. I have been here since 10:30am and it is now 1:30pm. So, you wait in line to enter the first room where the employee looks over your documents and then takes copies, then he gives you a number (ticket) and sends you off to the next room where you wait for your number to be called. Careful not to loose your ticket or you will have to get in line again (employees words). 4 desks and 1-2 people working at a time. Sometimes they get up and leave for a few minutes and then come back. I will never use the passport services at this office again. STAY AWAY if you don't want to spend hours in here. read more

Went here to send my passport application out for the first time. They hold walk in appointments TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS. You have to get there early and be lined up outside by 7am once they open they'll hand you a ticket with a number they'll call for walk ins. This is the main post office in Glendale where you can apply for passport, get a mail box and take care do your shipping needs. Employees are nice but they are very slow with an attitude. The passport window sometimes has a grumpy old man working there which I had to deal with twice and he makes things so much more stressful. Being the main post office I'd expect having more people work at the windows and move the lines faster but that's not the case. They have usually 2 or 3 people at the windows and when they work and move very slow it makes things so much slower. I think once you have a government job things gets easier and you can work at your own pace and no one can question you. read more

All the staff here are the best. The most friendly and helpful people ever only work here. I used their service and the P.O. BOX for the last 2 years as I was living nearby. Due to the nature of my work, I had a lot of shipment that I dump at them regularly. They never disappointed me and always greeted me with big smile. They helped me so much when I was struggling and frustrated. Even with a long line and stressful situations, the worker here always show professionalism and greet you with friendly smile. This is the nicest Post Office I have ever been to. The architecture is so pretty and I can respect a post office with style. I came here on a Tuesday afternoon to get my passport and the total wait time start to finish was a little over an hour. While there was only one lady, Cindy, taking care of us; she ran a smooth system. Of all my post office/passport experiences this has been the best. If you are looking to get a passport try to come in during the week because it will be easier and less time consuming. Also visit the government website to make sure you bring the necessary paperwork because if you don't have them they can not do anything about it. No exceptions. Pictures can also be taken here, $15. There is 2 hour street parking around the block. There are also some public parking and a few parking structures around the block. Parking is definitely not difficult to find. read more

The customer service here is a joke...hilariously awful. I guess they only hire people who couldn't find work otherwise, because I've never seen people hate their jobs so much. And it's not just me, they are rude to every single person they "helped". Mocking their customers, throwing papers and cards back to their customers, and generally giving awful advice. There's only one Latina that works here that's friendly and a hard worker, and considering I haven't seen her in a while, she must've found better employment. read more

I have an international package that was sent out over 2 months ago and they refuse to provide any information on the package and instead claim it was "lost." I made an appointment march 25 and came in April 24th, super excited to finally get a passport, I get there and I have to fill out a form, no biggie, but as I'm looking around I see signs on the walls that say you need your birth certificate, nowhere in the email does it tell you what to bring, I tried telling the worker but he wasn't having it. Now I have to wait another month. Will be finding another location too as this one does NOT have a parking lot. Our third attempt to renew my sons passport and yet another fail. The line to have your application and documents checked was a bit shorter than in Van Nuys (approx. 20. or so minutes around 230P - they close at 3P) but once receiving a number we were told it would be at least 2 hours until we were called in, and that was not a guarantee. You must be present when your number is called and you will not be seen if you arrive after you were called. Although they close at 3P if you have a number you are guaranteed to be seen. Ummm... No thank you! This is just insane! Who in the world has hours upon hours to waste waiting around to renew a child's passport? Sure as shit not me! I'm appalled by this ridiculous process but things appeared exactly the same at the Van Nuys location (perhaps worse!) and the Hollywood post office will not renew a minors passport without an appointment. I also watched them turn away someone else who may have been filing as an adult for their first passport. I recently renewed by mail with zero hassle, only wish renewing my son's was just as simple. I'm thinking scheduling an appointment is your best bet at this point if dealing with a new or minor renewal. We scheduled a visit for the Burbank Clerks office which seems to have decent availability in the coming week versus Hollywood who mentioned not having any appointments until July. If you do come here, I'd suggest super early before they even open. Again, who has time for that though? Appointment! I feel that's the best bet folks. The absolute worst post office I have ever been to. The workers are constantly profiling customers and changing rules based off of their profiling. As a business owner who only uses the drop off method, which makes their life and work so much easier, you would think that they'd be more courteous. One major pet peeve that I have for this location specifically is that the workers allow way too many people to cut the line. I was at the top of the line today, but literally four different people were allowed to walk right up and cut me for a variety of bogus reasons. These people should either remain near the counter (if that's truly where they started) or get all the way back in line because it's very suspect when I never saw you before. My second issue is that there is mail that I've been waiting for that had never gotten delivered to me, such as my California Drivers License. What is the deal? I get all sorts of other people's mail so I guess someone has my license right now. Lastly for all post office locations. Why can't you provide a pen for people to write with? At least sell them if you are going to continue being too stingy to allow people a means to address the packages. It's so ridiculous. If the bank can figure it out then why can't the post office do the same, I'm sure the same people visit both businesses. Get it together! read more

I called to ask about getting a passport and was told to just come in anytime from 10-4, could do pictures here. Came in around 1pm on a Tuesday and there was no one in the passport window. After waiting in line at the regular line I was told the lady was lunching. She came back. Numbers was at 59. I had 73. There was no one around. I asked how long she thought it would take. Major attitude: I don't know. People leave. How should I know? I get this isn't her fault, but really there should be some kind of order here. There aren't even chairs to sit on! read more

I went int to ask for a package and the answer I got was another display of how miserable this lady is, too damn lazy to go to the back and check on something that was dropped off and not mailed out. So now I gotta sit around and wait for when my package may or may not be delivered cuz why would the employee bother herself to go to the back and check. I'm so lucky to live so close by! The staff is friendly enough and sometimesit can be a long wait. Here are some tips: - Post Office opens at 10am...dont bother coming early or right when it opens because there will already be people lined up to send packages. - There is an automated machine that is very easy to use to send packages domestically...avoid the line! - Have all forms filled out BEFORE you reach a rep for service that way you're not holding up the line :) - Plenty of free boxes, flat rate boxes, and packing supplies are available for purchase. Oh, greeting cards for all occasions too! - Park along Kenwood Street for FREE 30 minute parking! Otherwise Broadway Street Parking is metered. Good Luck! read more

TL;DR: employees don't know their policies on PO Boxes and refuse to listen to you when you're providing information about it. Bought a PO Box online and went to pick up my keys. Brought the required form (1093) printed out as well as proof of residence. E-mails and the FAQ about the PO Box all say I'll receive my keys and box when I submit the documents in person, but I was refused my box because the employee "needs to confirm I live in the address I provided"-- DESPITE he having used those very same documents to confirm with the form I submitted that they are official documents that state where I live. I clarified with the employee the box is paid for and the documents I provided are for proof of residence, but he continued to refuse and told me I needed to wait 7-10 business days. I called the USPS customer support and, after an hour and 8 minutes of being on the phone with them (45 of which were on hold), we submitted a support ticket to this post office, but not before the customer support representative confirmed I was correct. For some reason, the post office thinks the best idea is to send the ticket off to a post office MUCH further than this one even though it says on the support ticket that the PO Box is paid for and all the documentation was already submitted. I'm hoping it's just the employee that requires additional training as opposed to this being an issue among all the staff members. I like the location and would prefer not to take my business elsewhere but, if lack of knowledge or customer support is a reoccurring issue, I'll have to if I don't receive what I've already paid for. read more

Since I posted my last review, this post office has taken a dive. The service is lousy. I've had a PO Box here for over four years and they STILL mess up and put my mail in other people's boxes! Just the other day, a friend of mine, who also has a PO box here, said he found a letter addressed to me sitting on one of the counters!! He was kind enough to bring it to me! It was a Dr bill!! What the HELL??!! How much other mail are they effing up?! The manager who used to work here must've quit. SHE was good. Good luck trying to call them! They don't answer the phone! Get your fingerprints here for an FBI background check! $50 for processing. Super fast & friendly service! Thank you Cindy :) Results are online more or less within 72 hours if you have nothing on your record. Cheaper & faster than doing it at a livescan place and having to mail in your application and fingerprint cards. The certificate of the background check is only valid for 6 months. I used an FBI Channeler 6 months ago but had to re-do it as I need a certificate valid for another 6 months. The process through a Channeler is only faster if you want to get the hard copy mailed to you quickly. If you don't need a paper copy, it's about the same time to receive results online but extremely more expensive via the Channeler. I guess because I had so recently done a check, I received my online results before I even stepped outside the Post Office building!! Hahaha read more

I sold something online and the prepaid postage wasn't enough so I ended up paying more to account for the extra weight which is fine. However, they charged me more than the difference in weight so I ended up paying nearly $11 to send a 1lb 2 oz pair of jeans from Glendale to texas. Seems like they just charged me the postage all over again. The guy at the office said the box was actually 2lbs yet the receipt showing what the scale read said it was 1lb 2.2oz. For those who are looking forward to getting their passports, but doesn't know the rules to getting one then this will be the review for you! I did have a passport but I was under the age of 18 when it was issued and it did expire. Now, if you have a passport and it did expire then you can still get it reissued through the mailing process as long as it's within 2 years. So just mail your expired passport, new photo, application, and a check to the processing address. That's it! And you will get your new passport within a few weeks! Now, if your like me and basically need to fill out everything like a first timer for passports (since mine expired more then a few years or you need one for a minor) then you need to apply for a new one! I will say that this experience was one of the worst in my life! (Even more then facing one of my biggest fears or just getting a bad burger) soo what do you need? Application, birth certificate/neutralization papers, photo, and check or debit card. One thing I learned very quickly is that if you live in the Los Angeles area, then you are basically screwed! You can not just go to a post office like before and just apply for a passport. They have appointments now!!! When I went a few weeks ago to my local post office that did offer passport application services, they said they only do appointment only and was booked for 3 months! Ok sooo what can we do?! Either book an appointment with your local post office and hopefully they have one not that far away OR go to one of the 3 locations that offer walk in services. So it was either Glendale or van nuys for me. I chose to come to this location since I figured how bad of a line could it be! First off, if you come here then there is public parking cross the street and behind the post office. Second, I arrived to this location at 1pm. The entire place was filled with people and line was curved around the building. Basically they hand out these tickets with numbers close to closing time. DO NOT leave the line! I did, since I figured they gave me a ticket and they were calling out numbers! After 4 hours, they called out number 93! I was 92! And I was basically yelled at some lady saying I left the office or line and I said no I didn't. Ok so the ticket originally they gave out was something they give to guarantee that they see you so do not leave the line! After waiting for about 5 hours, this lady looks at your paperwork to make sure you have everything then you have to wait....again...to go to another room where they "process" your paperwork. Everyone who worked here was angry as much as everyone in line. I actually saw a post woman tell one of the girls in line (who just had a question) to "hush up" because she was "interrupting" her. Whenever I try to ask questions about the ticket or line, no one will even listen to even answer the questions! So of course everyone was just confused about where to go or what to do! The entire ordeal took me over 7 hours! I have never been so tired, angry, dehydrated, and hungry in my life! What a Waste of a Saturday! My advice is to wait for the appointment by your local post office, apply by mail if you can, or if you really need to get it right away then go to these walk in locations an hour before it opens so you will be one of the first ones in! I heard others say it only took 2 hours when they came early morning as they would open. Also, save yourself the time and print out your application so it's all ready to go! After this experience, I will never let my passport expire! read more

PASSPORT SERVICES: I had to purchase Passports for the first time for my 3 sons. The headaches involved in acquiring children's passports has nothing to do with the Post Office. Make sure you have everything you need and arrive at least TWO HOURS BEFORE THEY OPEN! I woke my sons up and we were in line Saturday morning at 5:15am. We were the 3 group in line and the doors don't open until 7am. You cannot make appointments and I heard some locations only take a specific # of people a day so arrive early. Glendale POST OFFICE opens at 7am Saturday mornings for passport services. The entrance is on the S/W corner of the building (Broadway and Louise). Bring change for the meters and a chair! There is a Starbucks and Subway (2blocks west at Brand/Broadway) or 7-11 (2 blocks east at Broadway/Jackson) if you have someone watch your spot. CHILDREN'S PASSPORTS: -Both parents present with valid Calif ID or -One parent and a Notarized form (available online) from the other parent + a copy of the front/back of their Cal ID -cash or check PER application. (So I wrote 3 separate checks because I was applying for three children.) -ORIGINAL birth certificates of child (even if it is a renewal passport) -Social Security Card of children -(If a parent is deceased- bring the death certificate. If you have 100% legal custody, bring the court doc's) This location takes passport photos for a fee. They also make copies for a fee. I believe the lady who helped my sons and I was Cindy... SHE WAS AWESOME! I did not have a copy of my ex's Cal ID, so she signed my ticket and told me to come straight to her with the copies before the end of the day and there was NO wait. PLEASE REMEMBER THE EMPLOYEES ARE EXTREMELY OVERWORKED SO IF YOU ARE RUSHED- THAT IS YOUR FAULT! NOT THEIRS! THEY ARE VERY HELPFUL. JUST BE POLITE AND SMILE! read more

At the rate these postal employees are working it's no wonder the US debt is going up each year. First off why does the post office open at 10am when most other businesses start at 7-8am? Oh and the office closes at 4pm? That's only 6hours and half the time they're on break or move like Sloths which is why there's always a big line and long wait times. Secondly if you're treated well by any one of them you should run out and buy yourself a lottery ticket 'cause you can bet it's your lucky day! Lines are huge and they start giving numbers around 12 pm. If you don't receive a number you will not be processed. Took me 3 hrs today to be processed....insanely long! I made an appointment at this post office to apply for my passport and when I arrived we parked on one side where there was a door that said on sign for passport service enter on Louise street, which was the other side of the building, so I use my walker & not being from the area or knowing that the walkway went thru we walked to other entrance & it was stairs & no ramp, I mean REALLY POST OFFICE!! WHY PUT THAT SIGN AT ALL ??? absolutely ridiculous, its a good thing I'm able to use stairs cause what if I had a wheelchair & saw that? Omg, how stupid to have that posted on one door when it goes through, which we realized once we entered on the other end because the building is huge, its a whole block. I finally finished my business but had a headache by the time I got home cause there were several families there with loud kids , amazing how many kids getting passports. Glad thats done. Terrible experience. The lady who helped me, the agent was very nice though, and very fast, once my turn came it was quick, just getting to her took a bit, but she was cool. I came here to get my passport. After reading some of these other reviews, I was prepared to wait a long time but I decided to come early. I came at Friday at 7:00 AM and was the first one in line. By 7:30 there were about 15 people in line. Once it hit 8:00 they let us into a separate waiting room where we could sit. I was out by 8:20. My advice is come early. Make sure to line up at the West entrance, not the main entrance. I gave 4 stars because this is still not an acceptable way to get a passport. The people working there are fine, but either the process needs to be improved or staff needs to be increased. read more
