2 stars sounds about right. The only nice person here is the middle-aged Asian gentleman who is very helpful. The rest of the staff is outright bad. I once had to call the police on one of the employee who simply pocketed my change and went to lunch break without hearing me out that they never gave my money back. I actually was taken care of semi quickly for a walk-in but only tried to do the walk-in because not a single person answers the phone here. I called for 2-3 days straight and never once got a person - not even a voicemail it just disconnected. I also only kept calling vs. going in because the website says you NEED an appointment. Anyways... After waiting for my passport approval following my visit here, I found out that all of my photos were not up to code - they were improperly centered, apparently overexposed, not printed properly and met almost none of the guidelines required of the photos. The passport office literally didn't believe me when I said a post office / passport station had taken them. I went into a CVS which later had a high quality digital system and the system scanned each photo to ensure it met proper guidelines. How a pharmacy/drug store has a better process is beyond me. Long story short my trip is next week and I might not make it because of the awful service here. Save yourself! read more

Wow, I can say a whole lot about this place! Yes, like the other reviews its true. This is just a Post Office. Your standard typical Post Office, But wait there is so much more!!! I go here everyday, yes every day! Unfortunitly I'm that guy at the counter that takes up the mail handlers time. So before I dig deep into this review let me say Sorry to all those people that hate me because I come in here every day with a bucket of mail and boxes. You can come into my office across the street and add your mail in my bucket so you do not have to wait in the long lines. Anyway, Because I come here everyday all the front line employess know me by name as I know them by name and let me tell you its great! From the first day of me going in here and taking care of our daily mail run they have been awesome, fast and polite. I normaly dont like to name drop in my reviews but this place and the people deserve a little recongintion. The team of Casandra, Diane, James, Laruen, Dee, Mario, and even Fred are there day in and day out. They work hard on helping you accomplish your arrends. They will typicaly give you a smile and great customer service. Unless you are a jerk to them and then well you will be treated like a jerk. I remember when the mailman and mailwoman was a much of the community as the milkman and police officer who walked the beat. If we were doing something that could hurt ourselves or harm others, they all would simply give us the eye and smile and we would stop or do what they told us to do. We knew they knew our parents. They took care of all of us in the community and service was their mantra. Today, and particularly this post office, the USPS provides minimal and subpar service. I purchased a home and the home owner failed to give us the keys to the mailbox. Instead of a couple of days to get new keys, it took nearly a month. During that time, I watched a single desk clerk try to handle a long line that backed up through the lobby and out the door. Every other day I came to pickup the mail that would not be delivered until I received my keys, and I observed that same problems. When you reached the desk clerk after an hour in line, or more, you were treated with disrespect and disservice. It was particularly annoying when one observed other postal workers simply standing around and talking with one another while all of the patrons stood in line for hours. There was no attempt to pickup the slack and help the folks get in and out of the post office within any reasonable period of time. Try calling any of the published phone numbers for the post offices in Las Vegas and you will find that nearly all of them are either not operating, turned off, or simply ring on and on. Try calling the Postmaster for this city. Good luck. The post office doesn't make much effort to forward your mail if you move. If you try to get some service with mail and use a mailbox etc, or other strip-mall postal service, the USPS will refuse to forward your mail even if the entity goes out of business (they are franchises and, thus, individually-owned businesses). The USPS attempts to punish everyone who doesn't use their post office boxes in lieu of privatized mail delivery addresses. Those entities attempt to provide good service and value for your monthly cost. However, if they fail financially or you move, your mail will not be forwarded by the USPS. If you are gone on a business trip and your small mailbox, provided by USPS, is filled, this office simply returns your mail to the senders with a stamp claiming that the mail could not be delivered to the address--implying that your address is incorrect. You then have to figure out who sent you mail and confirm your address, have the bills and other communications resent to you, and your credit rating is affected. This post office simply does not care about the impact of their unprofessional actions upon our personal or professional lives. Here are my recommendations to end this problem: 1. Write to your congress person and senator and recommend that this "privatized" federal agency be shut down. They are not operating with a profit and we, as tax payers, are paying for their inefficiencies and lack of service. FEDEX, UPS and like firms, can pickup the slack in postal shipping. Those companies are nearly always dead-on with accurate and timely delivery. The days of writing paper letters are almost over and it would take little effort to covert all of that activity to electronic or email. Paper-based advertising is also a dying art. It can be handled electronically and we would save a lot of trees. 2. Postal workers would loose their jobs, but UPS and FEDEX could hire the best of them to cover the increase in business associated with the demise of the postal service. Those who could do the job and provide service would be hired and climb up the job ladder based upon performance. The others can work as unskilled workers until they learn the art of doing their jobs well and providing service. We could transfer pension obligations to their employers and let them retire just like the rest of us--after earning it through service and performance with a company, or by saving part of their salaries for future retirement. 3. Until the agency is closed, make individual postal workers financially and professionally responsible for their actions. Allow the public to go after the individual workers, not the agency, for neglect and malfeasant behavior just as well all are at risk in private industry. They would have to pay for the damage that they caused by not performing their jobs to a reasonable degree. Postal workers who simply throw the mail away rather than deliver it, or damage your business operations by negligence or neglect, would have to pay for actual damages. Allow the public to have bad workers fired for cause. 4. If the congress people fail to make a reasonable effort to economize federal operations by closing this agency or making it functional, then vote them out of office. Terry and the rest of her abusive and uncaring and unprofessional workers can learn to either do their jobs or not have jobs. We don't have to keep paying for them read more

If i could give a negative score i would, they are not even worth a one, the passport lady was so extremely rude, i had a 10 am appointment, she didn't take me for 20 min then when i made the appointment they said they could make copies for a charge, which was untrue, i literally went across the parking lot gone for less than 2 minutes and she refused to take me... she had absolutely no customer service skills and has a horrible uptight attitude, it's workers like her that keeps UPS and FedEx in business... The African American girl with the beanie on was super rude and had this "I don't wanna be here, don't talk to me" look on her face. I tried to be friendly asking for my mail that was supposed to have been delivered to that post office. After I ask for it (she isn't happy about having to go look for it, I could tell), she comes back and says, "no mail". So I ask, "do you know where they would have sent it because I have the paper that says it was sent to this address?". And she just rolls her eyes at me and says, "no mail". That's it. Worse customer service experienced! Mail carriers should do a better job and have a care to deliver packages in timely manner and actually do real delivery to correct apt!! Yes I am angry and utterly disappointed that they falsely scan a shipment as delivered to me which I never received! (HOW YOU FIT A 4X4X4 BOX IN A SMALL 2X2 MAILBOX??) Now its been 6 DAYS now since and I have gone to post office to get some assistance and to date just been getting run around and no resolution but excuses not to help or assist in the matter. I go back to post office (again) and same clerk tells me same thing that I already know from my tracking app. Shipment was delivered but to whom its the question not answered.. So the clerk gives me yet another non working number to call today begore 9:30am and again bz signal. I call back their main number which finally someone picks up at 9:22am and I asked to speak with the carrier and gave him the rt# and what happens? Get put on ETERNAL HOLD FOR 20 MINS.!!! TALK ABOUT POOR SERVICING! So now my final alternative is to file A FORMAL COMPLAINT(which I already did) AND HAVE THEM REFUND ME THE MONEY I PAID FOR AN ORDER THEY LOST AND DIDNT CARE TO HELP FIND AND FALSELY SCANNED AS A DELIVERED ITEM THEY DID NOT! It is with the people who deliver mail from this location and the managers or supervisors who ignore the complaints. They have left a whole panels of mailboxes open several times. They stuff items in boxes and then it becomes a wrestling match to get them out. Today it took me and a neighbor to get a box out of a parcel locker. They either need more help or better training. The line moves very slow for the counter because there aren't enough employees working it and it's just always messy. I honestly try to avoid going in line and try to use the self service center but that too had a long wait yesterday. Long lines.......Located on the corner of Jones and Flamingo. This location has a lot of parking which is a huge plus. The lines were terribly long when I went, although I did go when everyone is trying to get their gifts sent out just in time to make it for Christmas. They only had two people working the counter which caused a line almost out the door. I chose to wait for the automated machine where there was only one person in front of me. Simple easy machine, you weigh your package, enter the zip code, pay for the shipping and boom, a label pops out and you are done! Wish they had more then one of these machines! read more

Contrary to a previous reviewer, we had a very different passport service experience. Waited almost 4 hours on a Tuesday morning to get a single passport. There were about 10 people signed up in front of us but a couple of people didn't show up, so technically less than that. You go in and sign a clipboard to get on the waiting list. There is a window for passport services, but whoever works there doesn't just process passports. If the line for regular customers gets long, they stop passport services and deal with the regular customers first, so if it's a busy day you are SOL. Also, make sure you photocopy BOTH sides of your ID. We made the mistake of only photocopying the front side of our ID and not reading the fine print until it was too late. This place will not let you make a photocopy there, you have to go somewhere else. read more

No wonder why this post office has 1 1/2 stars! This is by far the most unprofessional/ inconsistent post office I have ever been to. I went to pick up a certified letter (which was not my first time) and it was for a business and I did not have a business card on me... I understand WHY they ask for a business card but I have been there numerous times and no one has EVER asked for me to show them a business card. So the rude blonde lady cut me off and told me she would get a supervisor. Then the supervisor with short hair and glasses walks over and you can just tell she hates her job and was rude from the start. ITS NOT WHAT YOU SAY ITS HOW YOU SAY IT! Don't come to me making it seem like it's MY fault that you don't have consistency when it comes to YOUR EMPLOYEES!!! I got there at 11:50 am to submit my passport application. A lady at passport kiosk was very rude. I didn't mind to wait, but I wanted to make sure that I have all documents for my passport, the lady cut me off and told me it's 45 min wait. So I waited 45 min, the lady finally called my name. I went up there and showed her my documents, then she said to bring my copy of my driver license. Are you kidding me?.. she said she will put my name on top of the list.. so I drove to ups office, made a copy of my ID and came back to usps office. I went up there to let her know that I came back with my copy of ID, and asked her how long do I need to wait since she put my name on the list already. Worst experience ever with the USPS!!! I was suppose to receive a package 03/28/2014 through the priority mail services. It is now 04/15/2014 and have yet to receive my package. I have been on the run around and have been to this USPS location four times. The tracking information have changed numerous of times and sense 04/02/2014 has said ready for pick up at this location. But they cannot find it. When I ask why was my package not delivered, they said the mail carrier could not find the address, but I had this package assigned to be delivered to my place of business, which is open 7 days a week and has the same mail carrier everyday. So there is no way she could not find this address, as she delivers mail here everyday. Then one person who works at this postal location told me that that particular mail carrier was a lazy person and probably did not want to hand deliver my package inside the business, as she usually just puts it in the mailboxes on the side of the building. I have called them numerous of times, just about everyday, trying to get an update. No one can give me a honest answer or the where about of my package. I have filled a claim and also a complaint. I received a claim number but it doesn't help. I would also like to point out that I purchased $50 insurance on this package and that does not seem to matter. This experience have made me very skeptical about the security of USPS. I will now try my hardest to avoid using any united states postal services and any companies which they are in partnership with for any important transaction I will make. read more

Does not communicate with USPS. You must call them directly for everything, but I could only ever get a dial tone multiple times on multiple days. Then the supervisor tells you that their phones work just fine. She disappeared in the back and made new wait so long that the other clerks were wondering what was going on. I've lived in the same area for almost 20 years now. The last 6 or so with my mail service has been horrible. I subscribe to get what comes in my mails every day. I have packages currently supposed to be on their way to me. They were scanned with no tracking number. Some how this post office can't even be bothered to look in their back area to see if they have packages for being sent to me. This is after they have changed their number on the website to their fax number (their real direct line is 7028891001 for the record). Now if you actually get someone to pick up from their actual number then expect to be spoken over so you can never explain or ask things properly. Then expect to either be put on hold or hung up on. (I've called once to which I was placed on hold for 30mins. I drove while still on hold to the post office and waited in line to only have the front office have to FORCE the guy out from the back. Which he did not want to come out and left after two words) This post office has some how managed to loose an entire community's HOA letters. (If they had if sent to another location they magically received it! This was over 100 letters) Packages I receive monthly always come banged up. Yet other companies are totally fine. The actual courier for my area has even gone as far as overstuffing our mailbox so bad that the key couldn't even turn. We thought someone had changed the lock on us on accident because it was so full (instead of using a package box). He also has been a delight in the fact of giving out info to a neighbor about the fact our household received packages. This station needs to be gutted and new people put into it. read more

He said he would have to investigate and will for sure call me back before 4:30pm. Well, he never did. I needed the answer pretty urgently, so I called back the office. Today, I have tried calling from 8:30am and the line is always busy. If it is not busy, it hangs up after one ring. If I am lucky to be not hung up, no one would answer the phone!
