You can never talk to a person. So frustrating. I was put into a queue and they were supposed to call back and of course they didn't.

If they had negative numbers I would have given this post office a negative 5. I have used this post office for the last 2summers but will never use them again. To many issues to list them all but the latest is that my change of address obviously isn't working and i am not receiving my mail at my new address. It is impossible to reach anyone in this office. I've lived here for over a year now, and I don't even bother with packages for the usps, only ups or fedex. They can't even deliver regular mail without screwing it up. I'll get checks 2 weeks late. For example, I have one check and bank statement that should have been delivered Monday of last week, but they still haven't arrived. I did get my junk mail on time though. I get really tired of USPS classifying my packages as undeliverable when the desk I work at is literally next to the front door and looking out at the mailbox, and no postal worker has made an appearance ever, when the packages have been classified as undeliverable, including todays. Additionally, I'm very tired of their refusal to deliver on Tues, Thursday, and Saturday, often. That's pretty consistent (especially in the winter), only in this, they consistently deny it. When I call USPS, they always say they're short handed and I can come pick the stuff up. I don't order these things so I can then travel to pick them up, and I do not appreciate the lie that the package was undeliverable. It wasn't, isn't, and probably never will be. If you're short drivers, just admit it and say when you're going to actually deliver. Don't imply that the person receiving the package was at fault. We aren't. If you're honest instead, I think you'll find people are easier to deal with, as long as it's not something like their prescriptions that they're waiting on, which it sometimes is. Failed to deliver 5 packages in a row but labeling them as delivered. It is really frustrating to see.

I have a new born and a car that isn't working due to the cold. I rely on the mail service for diapers etc, everything baby related. And family and friends try to send me things as well but this postal service is the worst I have ever experienced. They have no reason to not deliver my packages my mail box is on the street. I even confronted the mail man and he said I needed to shovel so I did exactly that and the next day he still skipped me! What kind of person has a box of diapers in their mail truck and refuses to deliver them!? Ridiculous. It's such a hassle to have your items returned to sender for no reason! read more

Waited for a package from Las Vegas for 3 weeks. Tracked t on the USPS tracking line and it popped up the other day that it had arrived in Leadville at 6:30 pm and was available for pickup. Really. at 6:30 at night? Now THAT'S service. Well, the next day, no package. So I called and it rang 40+ times with no answer. Haven't seen Jim our postal delivery dude today either. I understand that in Leadville, CO they might be a bit busier and understaffed than other places but you can't even get them to answer the phone? TERRIBLE! read more

This is the worst post office I have ever encountered. I don't think a single person there actually cares about their job. Carriers are lazy and the post master is lazy and rude. Get a PO Box somewhere else. I'm a homeowner and can't get my mail delivered to save my life. If I could give them negative stars I would. How do people take such little pride in their work? I've called several times to track down various packages and the Leadville post office is AMAZINGLY HELPFUL! They're easy to get in contact with, they know where everything is, and on top of that, they respond happily - what a contrast to some of the post offices I've dealt with! This is the most poorly run business I have ever had to deal with. There is no structure, the short brunette lady at the counter is so rude and unhelpful. They do not answer calls or care about anything. I guess you don't have to care about your job when there is no chance of being replaced. I have spoken with the Post master and seems quite comfortable with making excuses for his employees and himself rather that try to fix or resolve any issues. This is the most irresponsible post office I have ever dealt with and from what I hear around town, it has always been this way. read more

Though I ADORE Greg (a Postal clerk there!!!!! He is SO helfpul, friendly & quick. He will help you with ANYTHING & EVERYTHING.) & the other lady that works as clerk there (don't remember her name, sorry) is nice! The other few people their are not fun to deal with. Henry, a nice guy at heart, thinks he needs to show off his authority as a Postman. I've argued with him so many times! He's so great when there's little kids in line, he's adorable with them, but then YOU have to deal with him & you know you're gong to be stuck there arguing over a stamp. You ask a simple question, like "How much does it cost for insurance on this package, worth $100?" Expect to be there for 15 minutes while he explains the red tape of the Postal service community. It has NOTHING to do EVER with what you need to know, all the while people are stacking up in line & we're all looking at each other like "What's he going on about now???" He's not unfriendly, well, sometimes he is. He's just annoying & when I go in there I dread when I see him alone behind the counter. I long for Greg or the other lady. The Postmaster is nice, had to deal with her before, but she is so busy & set in her ways she doesn't really want to help the customer. I usually don't get packages/mail delivered when they're supposed to. Once I had a part shipped Fed Ex over night because we needed it ASAP. It didn't show up. A couple days later, when I inquired about my overnight shipment that was STILL not here, Henry got short with me & said that he's so busy, he's had shipments (Fed Ex & others) come in & he just can't get to it. Telling me to be patient. I explained this was an overnight package that I needed NOW, but he was angry that I would dare ask him for such a thing. I got the part 2 nights later! WHATEVER!!!! I'm so fed up with USPS in general, I've lost so many packages (coming & going) & so many others have been damaged! The fact that you have to PAY EXTRA to insure that your package won't be smashed, & PAY EXTRA for anything to be delivered with a guarantee that it will actually be delivered, astounds me! If you don't pay EXTRA, you chance that your envelope or package will not ever arrive. What are we paying for?????? Its ridiculous. if it wasn't for Greg or the other lady, I think I'd drive to Summit County (about 30 minutes away) to do my mailings. LOVE GREG! He makes this post office run! read more

We have had nothing but exceptional service at the Leadville Post Office over the last five years we have been wintering in Leadville. The employees in the office have always been friendly and above and beyond helpful when I've been unsure about most economical way of shipping. The postal delivery folks are exceptional. I do believe they are the ones leaving treats for our puppies who bark at them thorough the bay window as they deliver mail. We only wish our postal service in Centennial was as competent, thorough, and customer oriented as the folks in Leadville. read more

Since Greg took over as postmaster this branch has been running like a well-oiled machine. I appreciate the fact that Greg is knowledgeable, always willing to help any way he can, and also sticks to the rules he must follow.
