Saying this is the worst post office among post offices is like saying a piece of dog crap is the crappiest among crap. Nonetheless, this place takes indifference and incompetence to new levels. I've had my mail held here during 2 vacations and, each time, major screw-ups and no apologies. First time, I came back and my week's mail was strewn around my front door with a printout of my vacation hold request on top, WITH MY DATES OF VACATION HIGHLIGHTED, along with a statement that the notice itself contained private information and should not be revealed. A call and personal visit to the post office were essentially met with a shrug of the shoulders -- "we'll talk to the carrier, buh-bye now" Most recently, returned from a week's vacation, showed up to collect my mail and was told there was NOTHING, nada, zero, for me. Me - "huh? that's not possible, and I'm concerned there were critical tax documents/year-end documents in that week's mail." Post office supervisor - "sorry, there's nothing there where your mail would be kept." Me - "well, ask the carrier, maybe he hoarded it in his back yard, like that other carrier in the news?" Irritated supervisor - "your carrier's on vacation and his substitute has nothing. Here - take these flyers and get out!" Unfortunately, given that the post office has a monopoly over our mail, there's not much one can do to threaten to take his/her business elsewhere. Sigh... read more

This is by far the worst post office ever!! I have lived all around the country, but never have I come across such an inept post office. No wonder the post office is doing badly. Firstly, my mail is not delivered until 6:30-7PM! So by the time my sent mail is received at the local postoffice, Im already a day late. I live on the borderline between N and S streets. This post office cannot distinguish between the two. i have even received someone else's out mail delivered to me! I have complained numerous times to deaf ears. Its a nightmare to go in person. Aside from the long lines, which to be fair, occur at most post offices. I ship a lot and sometimes I get lucky at my normal post office on Cherokee and sometimes not. However, there is something seriously wrong in terms of the delivery and shipping going on as I suspect there is some kind of theft ring operating. This is the PO for my father and several Express packages with tracking have been delivered to other people - that's right - signed for by a person that isn't my father. One was picked up at the Post Office with ID and doesn't even have the same address as it was shipped to. Often tracking will indicate that delivery is attempted which is impossible since there is a 24/7 concierge in my father's building and NO NOTICE was left to pick up. I am sure that the lazy incompetent delivery person just decided to lie and claim they attempted delivery while they were napping. This means I have to go to the post office and pick up the package that WASN'T delivered. Last time I got there fairly early and was told that no one was available to check for packages until 10:30 A.M. I went back the next day and they then decided that pickups would be handled by anyone - this was after someone had been waiting at the "special pickup" window for 30 minutes. I pity anyone who has to depend on service from the carriers and personnel at this station as they appear to be incompetent at best and some of them are dishonest and must be operating a theft ring. read more

They always lose your mail! I usually avoid this place, but it has a parking lot and is centrally located, so sometimes I pop in there when I am in a hurry. MISTAKE!!! I don't know if it is incompetence or thievery, but if you care about your packages, do not take them to this post office! I dropped off a prepaid return package. I waited in line to get a receipt so I could track the return and get a refund for the merchandise. The irritated clerk refused to scan in the package or give me a receipt. It's taken months, and there is still no sign of the package. Avoid this post office! read more

I've only encountered nice employees when I've gone into this post office, so this 1 star rating is not about them! This is in regards to the delivery service. It seems that whenever a package is larger than what fits in the mailbox, the post person takes it back to the post office with them instead of leaving it in the building. Recently, I was expecting a package on Wednesday. Wednesday evening I get an email from Amazon saying that delivery was attempted but the package could not be delivered. I was home all Wednesday and didn't get a knock at the door or even a package slip saying that a delivery was attempted. After working the phone lines Thursday I spoke to someone who said they scheduled the package for redelivery Friday. Friday night I get an email from Amazon saying that again, delivery was attempted but it could not be delivered. No package slip Friday either. Saturday, after being on hold for a cumulative 100 minutes, I spoke to a woman at this location. She said I simply had to come in and get the package myself. I told her I ordered the package because it was too heavy for me to go out and get myself- that's why I wanted it delivered right to my door. She said that that particular delivery person could not pick up heavy objects so again, I have to come to the post office. Can we just take a moment: "THE DELIVERY PERSON CANNOT PICK UP HEAVY OBJECTS." ...Why are you a delivery person if you cannot pick up heavy objects? I am concerned. I asked the woman on the phone, who by the way was not very nice at all but I don't blame her, if there were any solutions we could think of, seeing that I could not carry this package and the package delivery person could not carry this package. She put me on hold to speak with her supervisor and eventually got back on the line with a solution, that on Wednesday another delivery person would leave the package at my apartment. A week after the package was supposed to arrive at my apartment door, it arrived just inside the door of the building- at the bottom of the steps. Thankfully I have strong friends! I am grateful that the package was delivered at all given all the things that could happen. I'm giving only 1 star though because there are people out there who are handicapped and can't lug heavy packages up stairs and don't have time to be on hold for 100 minutes- nor should they be- just to reach an unsympathetic employee who has to be delicately persuaded to get the delivery person to do their job. The post office from hell. I have been to many and this one ranks at the bottom. Should you find yourself with a slip in your mailbox to pick up a package sitting at the post office? Worst post office in town. Was just told that yet ANOTHER piece of registered mail has disappeared somewhere in this post office. I have now had THREE packages and pieces of registered mail go missing. This time I was left a notice in my mailbox, which I signed and asked to be re-delivered... then the postal carrier told me it couldn't be found. I constantly get other people's mail in my box, I have received bank statements opened (which means "someone" has all my banking account numbers) and now I'm afraid to order anything online as my packages do NOT arrive. I know the USPS isn't often accused of having overly friendly, helpful staff. But this location in particular takes the cake. Worst attitudes ever. Don't expect to have anything "complicated" handled without problems. The workers can handle postage but if you need something like mail forwarding done, then expect ineptitude before you get the problem resolved. In my case, I had to call several times over a period of a week before someone who knew what she was doing could help. One worker in particular was supposed to return my call several times, but he never did. You're better off speaking to a supervisor. You'll have to keep calling for at least ten minutes before anyone picks up the phone. Their system or database never seems to work. Avoid receiving mail altogether if you can. read more

between the different postal workers and the sketchy delivery it is no wonder this is considered the worst of the lot....the past day or so has been REALLY bad.....our regular guy was out AGAIN....and the snippy postal girl (yes girl) came in....talking on her cell phone.....tried to hand our mail off to a client who was leaving the office....thank goodness he didn't take it......then threw it on the desk....and refused to take the outgoing mail. when we asked about it....she sighed and said she would come back later.....surprisingly.....she didn't.....we call the post office to have them come back and they said they would try and get someone out.....but didn't really care one way or another..... it is no wonder that the post office is going bankrupt....with the attitude alone it is a wonder they get anything done. i would think that with the fact that they are on the brink they would want to do anything to make people happy and want them to stay around.......what it looks like is the place the idiots go to die.......it is a shame.......I called the main post office and they responded quickly.....maybe they will fire everyone and start fresh there...... read more

This post office has very poor service. There's always a line. The postal workers seem to think everyone has ALL the time in the world to WAIT! If you can avoid it, you should. I can't understand why they don't train their workers to have one line for (pick ups and Express mail) and other lines as usual. read more

Worst post office ever. I have lived in the neighborhood for four and a half years, and I regret not tracking how many of my packages I have actually received. This PO is very unorganized the displays set up to help are a mess and have the wrong envelopes stocked. When you try to ask a question you get yelled at and god forbid you actually get to the counter and have made a mistake. Usually its great coming here and I can drop off my mail no problem but they just started this weird schedule in the back that it goes from 9:00am - 12:30 pm 4 daya a week. The problem is that the lines are so big because all the people that need to drip thier mail come during that time that you have to wait half an hour just to see the lady to drop off your mail. Borderline racism? I visited this Post Office today on my lunch break to mail a parcel that had postage stamps applied to the label totaling $15.00. I had previously had the package weighed to determine how much postage to apply. There were only two people in line, but another agent "Alan" opened a window, however when he noticed the postage stamps, he immediately dismissed me with a wave of his hand saying "the lobby attendant must tally the amount". When I mentioned the amount was already tallied, and written on the side of the package, he ignored me and waved forward the next customer, a young Asian woman. I then protested, yet stood patiently approx 12 more minutes until "Alan" ( Asian man, mid to late 50's, partially balding), who wouldn't give a last name, referred the complaint to his supervisor. The supervisor on duty "Michael" only made a half-hearted inquiry, some what condescending, which only made the situation worse, since he hardly seemed sincere. I then asked for the official complaint procedure and left, as my lunch hour was now almost up. I have given this review one star, only because the site would not allow zero stars, which is what it deserves. read more

I sent a package from NYC to LA and after 10 days, it still has not arrived. I go on line and see there is a DELAY at the post office in LA. However, you cannot talk to anyone, the item just sits there for days, (I am now on day 3). Believe me, if it's something important, don't use USPS, spend the extra $ and go via UPS or FedEx. They said again they would look for it and call me back. They never called back. This happened 3 times. They act like it's an annoyance that they have to do their job. The only reason I am giving 3 stars and not less, is because I love one person there, Hope. She is always lovely and helpful. The 1 star I wanted to give is for the woman with long hair, Bianca (long hair one mentioned here in a few other reviews). She said she couldn't go get my package from the door (where oversize packages need to go), if it was over 5 pounds. She wouldn't even let me tell her it wasn't 5 pounds and told me to wait. She then helped other people, without even addressing me or giving me any info. I went up to her again and she wouldn't let me tell her it was less than 5 pounds. She starts to tell me she just had a C section and could not lift it. I didn't believe her for a sec. I can't tell you why exactly but it was a strong feeling I had. I think she is just lazy. I am also basing this on the fact, she is always rude and unhappy, like she is doing you a big favor with her service. I wanted to say, maybe you came back to work too early, if you can't lift any weight packages. On the other hand, Hope is lovely always. She heard what was going on and she said, don't worry I'll help you. The best part is this b....ch, says, "here is the supervisor". I said, why do I want the supervisor. She said you asked for her. I said no I didn't (I didn't want to bother). She made this big deal saying I did. The truth is, even if I spoke to this supervisor things won't change there. I have a P.O. Box there. I got a Christmas present mailed on Nov. 17 not delivered until the following May 31. I have had mail lost, returned for no reason, etc. The staff, for the most part, is rude. There are some good ones there, but mostly not. There is an even worse Post Office in Los Angeles (the one on Vermont by USC), but this is slowly but surely entering my top tier most frustrating customer service experiences. We had no problems with package and mail delivery for 6 months, then all of the sudden certain packages and mail would not show. (The ones that look like paychecks, or from Amazon.) This is a major problem, being my wife and I run a small business out of our home. Tracking numbers would show "out for delivery" at the Post Office site and then vanish into the ether. We would receive our letters from our neighbors, because they were put erroneously into their mailboxes. One package, an alcohol purchase, was put in front of our neighbors' door with the signature confirmation part ripped off. (At least I think so, as indicated by "ohol" and "ature" on a partially removed red label.) This is California, and it's illegal to have an alcohol package not signed. That it was left in front of another door is even more worrisome. Two letters - one from a former employer, one from a family member - were opened in our mailbox. One had a check, the other had cash in it. Cash was gone, naturally. Contacting an actual, red-blooded individual to discuss and/or alleviate this has been just as ridiculous. Mail service? Sometimes s/he comes at 9:30 PM, sometimes at 1 PM. Most of the time any time in between. Who knows. Some days not at all. After calling National USPS, I received a number to call. Call the number - wrong post office. Try this one, but we won't provide you with a phone number. Look it up, wrong post office. Two days of FBI-level reconnaissance led me to this one. Yes, we deliver to your address. Please hold while we look for your package. 30 minutes later, they hang up. Call again. 20 rings. Yes, we remember you, please hold. 35 minutes later, they hang up on me - on hold - again. Call again. Yes, we remember you. Call again Monday. Hang up while I'm in mid sentence asking for a manager. I am not a mean person on the phone - it's probably not that person's direct fault. I'm asking for information, or my packages, that I paid a fee for. I'm asking for pleasant and knowledgeable service. It's one thing for some dude who is underpaid to illegally open my mail and steal my Amazon purchases (I'm 2 for 7 packages this month). I might even understand that. That it takes over a week to FIND the right office, half a day on the phone to DISCUSS the issues, and have NOTHING resolved despite numerous filed complaints is enough to make a flaming liberal a conservative libertarian. I pity companies like Amazon, Netflix and Hallmark for their reluctant reliance on this kind of service. I'm only giving 1 star, but truth be told, this branch deserves a -10 star This is the worst PO branch ever....my little block of 5 buildings has such an erratic delivery schedule...our mail is delivered anywhere from noon to as late as 9pm daily...never have the same delivery person and they are rude... everyday there is at least 1 piece of mail for an address 2 blks away...when we put it out for redelivery, it sits for days before it is taken away....same for outgoing mail, sometimes they don't pick it up for days... I have complained and complained to both the station manager as well as D.C. but NOTHING has changed. We have not received our mail in the past 3 days from this lousy Post Office. How do they expect businesses to survive if we can't get our mail? Well, we filed a "Formal Complaint" with the U.S. Postmaster General and the Asst. Postmaster General in Washington, DC, this morning. If that doesn't work, we are notifying our Congressman, Senator, and then the White House. Enough is Enough, and we will not go on like this. We depend upon our mail coming daily so that we can make deposits to our bank. Just imagined not receiving your mail on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the same week. I don't know what these other people writing reviews expect from This beverly Usps, but I have gone to this location 4 times and have had satisfactory results...The mailing center by my house was charging 3-8$ more for shipping stuff, and this Usps saves me a lot of $$$ for my eBay sales. KATHLEEN, the assistant in the lobby area is such a Delight, she is extremely humorous and helpful and has helped me find correct boxes/package materials and labels. I don't know what demands customers have from a post office, but I have seen very rude, loud customers acting ghetto in this office and talk to Usps workers like servants. I left this post office today actually happier than i came in. If people are not pleased with Usps, than they are free to pay More $$ at UPS or FedEx... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!! read more

This is the worst post office I have ever encountered - without even needing to walk in. My friend sent me a package for my birthday from Colorado. She paid a lot of money to have it sent priority. USPS thought my work address wasn't safe on a Saturday, so they didn't leave it. Fine. I schedule to redeliver and include instructions to leave it anyway and THEY NEVER DID. Contacting them is a nightmare because I've had to call every day and either they don't answer or I'm told someone else will call me back with more information, which never happens. This Sunday would have been the 16-day hold and it would have been sent back to my friend. Without warning, they FINALLY brought it today. It was supposed to be here the 1st, I scheduled the redeliver for the 4th, and now on the 12th after all of my calls and annoying them it is finally here. I'm so livid and filing a complaint as well as encouraging my friend to get a refund since nothing about this was priority mail. read more

Worst service ever. I ordered something online and they decided to ship USPS and I paid for 2 day priority on a Wednesday. My package was suppose to arrive on Saturday and I had it shipped to my job to make SURE I get it and whoever was out delivering mail said we were closed. Terrible service. I've been waiting more than 2 months for them to provide a lock to a mailbox so tenants can receive their mail. Don't ever expect to speak with the supervisor, Sharmika. This morning, the staff told me to wait and speak with Sharmika. She kept me waiting 30 minutes before the staff told me to leave and call her this afternoon. The number they gave me is constantly busy and, after finally getting through, Sharmika has kept me on hold for 10 minutes as I write this. read more

THE MOST DISHONEST POST OFFICE IN LOS ANGELES Every time I send my son to the post office to mail something for me I BEG him not to use this post office. I've had nothing but horrible experiences with this branch and their employees and stopped going there in 2012. Today I gave him two packages each needing $50 insurance. This should have amounted to $4.20 or $2.10 for the insurance on each package. When my son got home he told me it was more than I told him it would be. I looked over the receipt and sure enough they charged me for insurance of $50.01 on each package putting the packages into the next bracket for insurance. I hate this place. My son of course said it's no big deal. Well, it is to me. It's my money not his. Who the hell do they think they're kidding. God damn thieves in every aspect and their attitude is the absolute worst. Branch should be closed or completely overhauled with some honest people. I thought the old crew was bad.
