Not gonna lie the guy behind the counter was super rude and not very nice. I was not feeling my best but had a package that had to go back. It had a rip on the box and when I got up to the counter he was like you're gonna have to tape that up before I take it . Then I had to buy tape and move out of the line package it up. My major beef with this post office (on Kearney) is they do not answer the phone, ever!! Made a complaint to the customer service number (which is a pain to navigate, and you cannot get through auto system without a tracking #!! What if my question doesn't pertain to a tracking #?!) The woman from Kearney Avenue that called back said in a rude manner, "I'm the one who ALWAYS answers the phone, you might be calling when I'm not here!" Really? No one else can answer the phone? I have called several different times of the day, different days of the week (during business hours, mind you) and they literally never answer the phone. Another complaint I have is that there is one clerk who is rude to everyone. I saw two separate elderly ladies in front of me asking for help, he said "one thing at a time!" and "I can't help with that!" I just avoid him at all cost. Tried talking to a supervisor and they basically said there is nothing they can do. Even though he is rude, unwilling, and incapable of doing his job! He is basically "too busy" to do a good job. He is basically immune from being reprimanded, I guess. It is such a shame!! I will end on a more positive note: They always have cute decorations on holidays and such. Whoever comes up with the ideas for that, keep up the good work! Also, a few of the other workers are very kind and help each customer with what they need. I've been to this location on multiple times, during which the same man helped me out. Both times, he was very short with me, had no customer service, didn't greet me, and just over complicated things when he could've told me the solution in a much simpler manner. Today I visited around 2pm, and two women were working along with a tall dude with a beard and glasses, and I was already hoping he wouldn't be the one helping me! The women are super nice, and I've spoken to them before, but whenever the guy helps me out, he's insanely rude and doesnt even try to help solve the problem. It's like if things aren't his way, then he can't help you you just have to figure it out on your own. It's really ruined my experience here and i won't be back, I'd rather drive to salida. read more

I moved into my new home on July 15, 2024, and immediately visited the post office to get the key for my neighborhood mailbox. I paid the required fee and was told it would take 2-3 weeks. Four weeks later, no key. I went back to the post office repeatedly, only to find out my key wasn't ready. After two more weeks of the same, I spoke to an employee who checked the logbook and discovered my name was never entered in the first place. She assured me it was now logged. Fast forward another three weeks--still no key. I asked to speak to the supervisor, who claimed the process is outsourced to a third party and insisted there was nothing they could do. It is now November 9, 2024, and I still don't have my mailbox key. This experience has been beyond frustrating. The lack of accountability and care for paying customers is unacceptable. Federal employees or not, taxpayers deserve better than this. Avoid this post office if you can. read more

There was an older man with a grey beard and glasses that was sort of standing around while one lady was helping the line. He asked if anyone has a drop off and I asked him if I could get a receipt he said I don't have a till. Then I seen a self service area and tried it myself. Why wouldn't that grey bearded guy take customers over to the self service section like myself that asked for a receipt on a prepaid label to help with the line? Instead it seemed like he is miserable working with the public and doesn't want to preform the main duty of his job which is working with the public aka customer service. The reviews are terrible here and a lot describing this man. I would be embarrassed if I seen all these people with the same terrible experience. I'm sure he has an excuse as to why everyone else is wrong. Whomever is managing this branch needs to put some employees on disciple or have them find new jobs if they can't preform the basic duties. It's not a hard job. I work with customers and manage employees daily. The whole point of customer service is to help the customers and make it a welcoming atmosphere so the customers return. It seems like the problem here might be that management does not discipline the employees for their rude behavior which is why they have this behavior because they have been allowed to act like this for too long. read more

So I went to take care of it and the lady, the supervisor or manager, helped me. She called my carrier, Keith, and he was gracious to deliver it before I got home. There is still no package to my daughter. It's almost 1 month now. Went today and waited almost an hour for a manager to come up. She basically told me they can't do anything. Go online and into your USPS account and file missing mail. Well, that would be great. However, you have to select a category to put the item in. As you can see, there are no drop-down options. So, how exactly do I file a claim then. You go in, and they say go online, you go online, and their site is useless. This post office really just needs to be shut down or COMPLETELY restaffed from the bottom up. I'm beyond frustrated, pissed off, and disappointed. They honestly earn every customer that comes in berating them. This post office is full of theives and liars. If you don't like your job then find a different one. He is degrading, condescending and not helpful at all. Big shout out to Modesto PO on Sylvan Ave. for worst customer service ever! Thank you so much for not following up on a fowarding order and losing a package and deeming it "Irretrievable". Whatever happened to that package is still a mystery. What is not a mystery is that there is no accountability at this facility. Tried to navigate going up a couple levels including an oversight group in Sacramento with no luck. Same dead end...package is irretrievable. The post office of origin in San Jose successfully got the package to Modesto. What happened once the package reached Modesto is where the problems began and ended. Not that anyone there would care, but the contents of the package were for a 5 year old boy celebrating his birthday and starting Kindergarten. I came here to send out certified mail. Location seems to kind of be in the middle of nowhere, okay, more industrial. I thought this place was very efficient and seemed to really care about service. As I entered, the gentleman at the front counter acknowledged there was a bit of a wait, and that we would all be helped shortly, which I thought was nice. Honestly, I don't get why people complain about the long lines at the post office or at banks. It is what it is. I'm sure the staff members are working as hard as they can to get through the line. There was an older gentleman who had phenomenal customer service. I was listening to him interact with customers and he was so friendly and quick. Can't give less than one star but this location had their phone set up to cut off.after listening to recorded info, it asked me to stay on the line to speak with a person. I had a quick question..what time is latest to get today's postmark date. After being cut off twice, I tried dialing the zero button.the message said hold for a person then hung up.I tried that several times and tried hitting different buttons but was always disconnected. Finally I called the paradise station and immediately got a sweet lady who was apologetic and answered my question right away. I have been to the Kearney location many times and have learned to stay in line until you are called.just because a clerk us standing there after finishing with the person before you didn't mean you can approach them..oh no! You could be completely ignored and miss out on another window where a clerk is actually ready for you. I've never seen it heard them apologize for anything, and I know from experience that no matter how sweet and humble you act as a customer, some clerks are immune to kindness. Finally this lady with the blonde braids/locs comes out asks if she can help me I let her know what I needed help with and she said if you're going to put it in a different envelope you need to write it and get in the back of the line. I like this location. It's close to my house, and it's run very well. I appreciate the drop box for packages! The employees are polite and happy to help customers with one exception. The taller older gentleman at the front counter could work on his customer service skills. He can be curt and condescending. On busy days, he can definitely be rude. I kind of dread being in line and having to be helped by him. He is usually not pleasant. I am not saying anyone has to exude rainbows and sunshine and be chipper at all times. I'm sure the post office can be hectic and challenging, and customers might not always be nice. But I don't think it's asking a lot to at least be polite and friendly. read more

HORRIBLE .... Just HORRIBLE!!! This place needs to train Jonathan. Not only was his customer service crappy but his willingness to help was even worse. Zero comprehension to say the least. I was there today, to ship out some luxury items purchase from Poshmark and I had to pay for my shipping and shipping packaging which is already prepaid for through Poshmark. So , I paid double for shipping to my clients. Not one associate or manager came to help me, or figure out what's going on. Literally, the most lazy postal office thus far. Oh, and not to mention he told me he didn't have tape, so I had to be the one to go get tape. Who doesn't carry or have tape at their location? Isn't that a managers job? I completely agree with the reviews about the Kearney office and rudeness. The worst is Rick, yes he is that tall middle aged white guy. He is ALWAYS loud, impatient, and so rude, I have actually waved other people on ahead of me when his spot opens becasue I hate dealing with him. I have complained to the manager and even called the survey number on the bottom of the receipt and given them his name. Vicente is great, and the manager, not sure of his name. I have seen Rick also treat young black men VERY poorly, talking to them in an impatient, rude, and condescending way. He does not listen to people and hates answering questions. After choosing a flat rate box, I was having problems assembling and packing the items. A sweet lady behind the counter said she could help me and took over assembly and packing. Her name is Imani and she is truly a credit to the postal service. Her attitude and personalble outlook is the standard for customer service.
