Unfortunately, I did not get this same treatment, I was made to feel that my questions were stupid and did not receive any help by Jorge. I only had to drop off stacks of first class mail, so only needed the drop-off mailbox - unknown experience with their customer service. However, where they have their mailboxes placed is not an ideal location due to the fact you would have to find it by driving around the post office building as the entrance is at the opposite side of where the drop-off boxes are located. USPS in generally is a joke. I order something Monday locally online and decide hey might as well ship to work since I am there all day anyway right? It took 4 days to get from Wilmette to Niles post office. Seriously?!! (If you don't know these 2 places are about a 30-40 minutes apart) Here is where my real headache begins. It's Friday afternoon and it says online I can go pick up at Niles location. I didn't have a choice now since my job is closed over the weekend and our WORK mailroom won't pickup from them until Monday. I drive to their location, wait in line patiently for 20 minutes, hand the guy my information and he tells me I can't pick up my package. He then tries to explain to me they never just hand out mail they deliver it out. I told him that is not true because I have gone to pick up packages at my local post office without any problems. He then says he can check the shelves where things are sorted but if not there I have to wait till tomorrow for delivery. I tried to explain to him I came in because my company is closed on weekends. Also, our employees come to pickup from this location you guys never drop anything off. And finally USPS website said I could pick up. 5 minutes of back and forth that could of been spent looking for my package instead turned to a wasted lunch, a headache and walking out empty handed. Now I have to wait until Monday to receive something I PAID SHIPPING ON that I would of had 5 days earlier if I just sent to my home address. I will never step foot inside this Post Office again!! If I ever have to have anything delivered to work I would rather pay UPS or FedEx since they have no problem dropping off to us. read more

Just your average post office. Nothing spectacular.

I am so beyond upset . I go into this post office to check my PO BOX. The key isn't working so i ask an employee for help . Immediately he says " well did you pay the bill ?" I said of course i did . So i hear him asking about my post office box and i can hear the manager say " you know why she cant get in , she aint paid the bill "since I could hear them im sure they could hear me so i said " sir , i have the receipt right here on my email " the worker then tells me to go and ring the bell . I honestly didn't want to because of the long line near the door but i had no choice. I ring the bell and explained to the manager but i also saw that he was not wearing a face covering. I told him your here talking to me and you don't have a mask on , please go put on a mask. He said " well you rang my bell , plus your all covered up face shield and mask" He said it as if he were poking fun at me . I left the building . I am going to call to report this building and their non professional practices to everyone who will listen . The manager needs to be disciplined and i will use every platform available to me to ensure that happens. We are in the middle of a pandemic and I would expect more respect from the United States post office read more

Please do not come here for your business. What suck clerks in this office. I have been here three times during past year and all of them are terrible experience. How can these people survive in this competitive world? Where is their supervisor? These clerks should be shamed for their unprofessional attitude and poor capabilities. If I could give negative stars for my passport adventure here, I surely would. I would like to scream obscenities from the top of my lungs due to this experience. First off, there are two separate lines- one for retail, one for passport. I saw this right away and was the only one in the passport line. It felt odd, so I asked people from the other line if I was correct, and they reassured me (and then a few of them switched to my line). As soon as I got to the passport person, I told her I brought all my records and my old passport because I had gotten married and changed my name. She said I needed to fill out a form and get back in line. So obviously that frustrated me because when I went to get my passport originally (different location) the women I worked with helped me fill it out. So I go to fill it out and then wait in the line again. Finally I get back to the same lady and show her my form and she hands me a regular cardboard mail envelope and tells me that since it's not a first time passport, I have to go wait in the other line. What the hell!!! Why couldn't you tell me that before? Why would you waste my time and your time?? So I very angrily waited in the other line for my next appearance. When I got to that counter I handed my form over and asked what else I needed to do. This lady, Simi, explained what else I needed to mail with the form and went over tracking my passport and everything! She was calm and understanding and the saving grace of this awful experience. I didn't get the other lady's name- but she deserved negative stars to infinity. Simi deserves 5 stars whole heartedly. read more

UGH. What a horrible experience. I happened to be in Niles with a package I needed to drop off, with a prepaid priority label, and I wish I hadn't. It's going on 2 weeks since I dropped this package in the priority bin and 1) the package has not been scanned yet and 2) the 2-day package has not been delivered yet. The customer service rep was nice, but not helpful. I'm sure the package is somewhere in that building but he was not able to try to find it for me. I'm still hoping it turns up- but this was a horrible experience. Mail delays I understand, but losing a package with a label 110% secured on, I do not. read more

The staff in the front are fine, usually slow because only one or two staff working. The "assistant manager" who pick up the phone is a nightmare. I mailed 10 packages and only half of them reached their destination and the other half have tracking showing "accepted in Niles". So I file cases for them and ask for investigation. I was informed that I should talk to Niles post office so I called. It was picked up by the short Asian guy who suppose to be the "manager" I am guess, I met him before so I know his voice. I told him my situation and gave him my tracking number. He sounded very unfocused and had me repeated my number twice. Then he told me they don't have my package. I said well then how come the tracking never show the package left Niles, he couldn't give me an answer. Then I ask how come half of my mail was scanned the other half wasn't, he said "your package is small, only 8oz, I am not saying don't send small packages but a lot of them got lost" Seriously, this is the answer you give to a customer, very professional. And I also asked him what should I do next, he said go file a claim on "usp.com", I tried to correct him if he meant "usps.com" but he just kept mumbling "usp.com". I then asked what did the claim do, he just gave some vague answer and told me I had to fill out the form to find out. Honestly he sounded very unprofessional and kinda drunk. And of course, my cases didn't go nowhere and no on knows where my packages are. Not that anyone cares about this review because well, let's face it! Nothing will be done about it! This place has gone down the drain in the last few years. I have been a Niles resident for 22 years and have never been so disappointing in this town recently! But I won't get into my rant about other things in this town. Let's get down to business shall we!? The front desk clerks AKA TSE's are ridiculously rude and horrible! The old Asian man has no manners what so ever and is rude to everyone. I have been here several times and not once seen him with a smile or treat someone with respect. I mean really?? Last time I checked, that's not how a customer should be treated. Secondly, there are other workers there that are just as bad or have an attitude and complaining about their shifts there at work. One of them working there today, a skinny Hispanic male. I always walk in with a smile and greet them. I've never ONCE Received this type of positive treatment from them. I'm done shipping here and will take my business to morton grove, I told a few others in line that MG is much quicker and right down the street! I told them this while we waited over 30 mins because the elder guy was the only one there at the moment. Either way, I'm fed up with this USPS and not coming here anymore. This place honestly SUCKS, have me waiting 2 hours for a passport after they took someone with a passport. This is not right and this place NEEDS new staff, management then I eventually speak to the "supervisor" and he closes the door in my face. WAY TO BE A SUPERVISOR BUDDY!! I just got off the phone with the "assistant manager" after I asked to speak with the manager and he claimed he was. I was trying to tell him I've had medication that was supposed to be shipped to me on April 2, it is not April 5 and I don't have it. Be completely cut me off when I was telling him the story of what I've done so far. Completely rude. Sounded like a younger boy, that is why I asked again if be is the manager. This statement has more to do with the delivery of the mail for Niles, IL. For the past 2-3 months our delivery (to a business) has been terrible. We get mail for the business around us, and many times other locations in Niles, not even close to where we are located. I submitted 2 on line complaints, so now the jerk that delivers our mail, delivers it just before be shut down for the day. He used to be real good with the delivery, so I'm not sure why he suddenly changed for the worse. read more

Worst experience ever! They were supposed to deliver a package to the south side of Chicago and ended up 1 week later bringing the package back to this location. Package was addressed correctly. They supervisor was supposed to research where my package was while enroute and call me back but never did. I had to show up there and then he tells me a BS story that the vacation fill in post office mail carrier on the south side of Chicago couldn't find the address and sent package back. I spoke to recipient of package and she said she spoke to her regular mail carrier and he never received a package to deliver to her nor was he on vacation. From the lying supervisor to the clueless clerk this has been a terrible experience. Stay away from this location. Your better off going to Morton Grove location. No wonder UPS and Fed Ex are doing well and the post office is not. read more

I only go here because it is very close to my house but I have actually driven to the Morton Grove Post office because the people that are supposed to help you at the Niles location are down right mean. They are slow and rude and I don't know how they can keep their jobs. The lines and be long and they don't add any more help. This post office has such horrible service that I refuse to send any packages through here. I travel to Morton Grove where anything runs 100% better & smoother. My biggest regret is that MY mail has to come through this festering hole of incompetence since I live in Niles. Many times I have had tracking indicate that a package I was waiting for sat in the Niles location for 1 or 2 extra days. More than one time, I've had tracking showing that a package was unable to be delivered and notice left. Only problem, I was home the entire time the attempted delivery indicated, no notice was left & the package should have been delivered since there wasn't any signature required. I took a print out of the tracking and went to the post office only to have the supervisor find the package by the letter carrier's locker(apparently the carrier didn't even bother to take it on his/her route.) I asked the supervisor what the ramifications were for the carrier for doing that and all I got was a "deer in headlights" look. Too bad packages can't come through email as well!!! read more

This post office employees the dumbest mail carriers know to man. I've lived in Niles for 11 months and they continually screw up my mail. I subscribed to a magazine in February. They delivered the first issue and my bill, but that was the last I saw of that magazine. I contacted the magazine and they told me the Niles PO told them they couldn't find me. Couldn't find me??? They had no problem finding me for the first issue and the bill. The same thing happened with some CD's I ordered from my club. They were returned to the club, even though I get the monthly mailing. Now, after receiving four different CD orders, I find they've returned my last order. The mailing label has all the pertinent, correct info on it. The problem is they items are being delivered by a bunch of incompetent civil service workers who couldn't give a rat's ass as to whether I receive my mail or not. I'll be visiting the PO on lunch today to let them know exactly what I think of the lousy way they perform their duties. I'd love to have a job that pays a salary like they make for doing the shitty work they do. read more
