I don't find them very friendly most of the time. Of course, some exceptions. My mail constantly gets put in the wrong mailbox and is causing problems. My bills don't always arrive, check has been lost, etc. Neighbors bringing my mail from their box, not good! It happens frequently. Just get excuses. I usually have no trouble here the only person I've had trouble with is Mark he's extremely rude and disrespectful to customers. Ellen and Rita are amazing go out of their way to help you and so does another young gentlemen whose name slips me he's the youngest man there. But that Mark has such an attitude he needs to be fired and or get a job where he doesn't work with people. And to the comment earlier about they were denied service because they had a dog you do have to show proof that you do have a service dog California issues a license with a number on it one man complained that Ellen denied him access and she had all rights to he had no documentation whatsoever in short get rid of Mark he's a mess read more

The staff is willing to help and even make suggestions to save money on different mailing solutions. Poor customer service. I waited for them to pick up my call for an hour, and when they finally picked up, they hung up when I wasn't even finished talking. I requested a redelivery package that was supposed to arrive on a Friday, but it never made it to my address. When I called the next day to follow up on it (after trying for an hr), they said it was "still in their facility." I don't like putting in bad review but i hope this will help them better their service. read more

Postal delivery on my route is not reliable. Some employees at main Post Office are helpful, but can't seem to assure that I get my mail. I have letters appear on my front door from neighbors who got it, and I get mail for neighbors occasionally. Complaints don't seem to correct the problem. If I owned a business with the problems the Post Office has (with these problems created by a Congress that wants them to pre-fund their retirement 75 years in to the future----what other company has to do that????), I'd be sure my employees were doing their job. read more

This really is just the worst post office on the planet. I put in a forwarding to my summer home in NC for three months. I would get one piece of mail now and again, then I would get a cell phone photo of a bunch of mail my neighbor happened to find in my mailbox back home. I would give this post office 5 stars if the USPS would hire full time employees who open at least 4 registers Monday through Friday. With the company I work for I have to come here every day, 6 days a week for a simple round date. There should always be someone who only does round dating or pick up. Lines are long, theres only 2 or 3 people on the busiest days and times. Almost everyone who needs to go to the post office has a job and as tax paying Americans, i think USPS can afford to have a full staff. Victor is very sweet and so are 2 other people. The rest of the employees seem to hate their job with their attitudes, lack of patience and sighs. read more

Over crowded - too small for the volume of customers. Not enough people at the counter. You can't buy stamps in the lobby. They took away one of two post boxes out front - they are always full and now you have to park just to mail a letter because there isn't any room in the one box. Why take away half of the boxes when they were always used. The people try to make up for the problems - courteous, helpful - but this is one of the worst post offices - esp. a MAIN office - that I've ever seen. read more

I find the people here to be very nice and quite helpful. However, phone service is horrible. As a part time resident, I have the need to phone on occasion. One can rarely get through - busy signal in 2014! After three days of trying on my breaks at work, I got throght this AM only to get disconnected. Businesses need to understand their community and clientele to remain relevant. If you're a business owner. Do not drop off your packages at this location. Priority Items take longer to be delivered than at any other location. Also they mark your packages as delivered instead of accepted when dropping them off which causes problem with customers, because the tracking number never fixes up. Management is condescending and disrespectful and will not take any responsibility for their own mistakes. Take your business elsewhere or you will make your customers unhappy. read more

I have always been a fan of post office workers, but the person in charge of this office appears to be an ineffective manager. Each and every time we place a vacation mail hold and request to be held at facility, we are told that the mail isn't there when we arrive to pick it up. It takes two tries to get the employees to find our box of mail. Their original response is "it's on the truck". After a second look (at our insistence), they find it there. Staff are very surly each time. Also, our delivery person often miss delivers our packages and letters to someone else. This frequently includes our medications. There are days when we get no delivery even though we are notified that we have some coming that day. Normally don't give negative comments but this is a very frustrating experience. I have never had these problems in 50years of mail delivery. Points to carelessness or apathy on workers part. read more

MAIL LADY ON VIA ESCUELA/RIVIERA GARDENS! This isn't directed at the post office itself but my mail carrier is EXTREMELY RUDE to put it nicely. My key snapped off in the lock last week and I needed to understand the order of operation I needed to go through to get it replaced. I approached my maillady today to ask her what I needed to do because I couldn't get my mail. Her reply: Well you're getting your mail! I said "No actually I'm not" Her: "Well someone is!" She had all of the mailboxes opened up so I moved over a magazine so I could see the 22 envelops in my mailbox (that I had alegedly been getting) Her: DON'T TOUCH THAT MAIL! Me: it's mine! Her: I don't care, I need to see your ID!! Me: Sure no problem! (I grab for my wallet) Her: Um, can you wait until I'm done!! I looked at her and said "What an attitude! Nevermind, I'll ask the post office how to replace it ya rude ass!!" She muffled something under her breath and shut the mailbox with all of my mail inside of it and left!! KNOWING I can't get to it!! I'm shaking I'm so mad at her!! I'm calling the post office now. Hope they are more friendly than this amazon! read more

Worst phone service EVER. Waited 20 minutes with busy signal and finally got through to a voice mail. After listening to the options I was told that no one was available to take my call (wonder why it was busy for 20 minutes then?) and was directed to press zero to reach the receptionist. Pressed zero and got another voice mail saying NO ONE WAS ABLE TO TAKE MY CALL and instructed to wait for the beep and leave a message. The beep came and then another voice mail came on saying that the voice mail box was full and it could NOT TAKE ANY MESSAGES. Is this the way to operate a business? TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. 3 stars for the awesome, friendly, efficient man who works the counter. 0 star for the female I got this morning. He called her to the counter when the line got long. Took her a bumbling 5-10 minute stretch to get her register opened, etc. She then served 1 customer, slowly. He helped about 5 people while she got her act together. I had the misfortune of getting her. One of my boxes wasn't taped on top. After waiting 20 minutes, I now cannot mail these boxes because she can't spare 6 inches of tape. Gee, thanks. Also, the pen hasn't worked all month at the label station. Come on. read more

Terrible staff, completely indifferent attitude with obviously no accountability. I cancelled a change of address order, only to have this post office continue to forward my mail to Texas! After two separate visits to the post office and discussions with a "supervisor" the mail still is not delivered to my PS address. If you are un-lucky enough to need a post office in Palm Springs you are not in for a nice surprise. The main post office is horrible. There is a smoke tree south small post office that is better but the large main office needs to be shut down. The employees are rude and the efficiency of the entire operation is pathetic. There are NO smiles at the counter for sure and trying to find a lost package that you know was delivered to this post office is impossible. To the Yelp Readers. I felt it important and necessary to point out a exemplary Post Office employee by the name of Kris. I presented Kris with a problem he personally had nothing to do with but as it was a postal matter, he felt compelled to do right by me. The issue I presented him concerned misinformation regarding services I paid for, [through the 1775 E. Palm Canyon postal branch] and which I did not ultimately receive. I decided to address this through the main branch and is where I met Kris. He took it upon himself to work through postal definitions and confirmed the service I was expected and should have received was indeed a inner-postal miscommunication issue. This was not a issue he could handle immediately while I was there but he took the time to follow-up and contacted me a few days later expressing his apologies on behalf of the post office and that I indeed didn't get the service I was told I would receive and paid for. I further asked I be refunded a portion of the costs as I felt the post office didn't deliver on said services. Kris made sure to speak with his Supervisor who allotted a partial refund. Overall this took me a bit of time but it was imperative as the definitions regarding Certified mail versus Registered mail was at stake. For all those reading, if you want to make sure a specific party at any location only receives and signs for a piece of mail, make sure to pay for Registered mail only, and not Certified. This is where I was incorrectly steered. Again, thanks to Kris' time and efforts, I did learn the absolute correct way to send a piece of mail requiring a specific signature by a specific party. The Post Office should be happy they have a person such as Kris working for them as he really wanted to do right by the Post Office and also wanted to make sure I was leaving happy with the end resolve. He was diligent, well-mannered and apologized a number of times. I just hope his upper management recognize him for those attributes and that they also make sure to convey to all the branches the rule about Registered versus Certified mail and their signature requirements. The amount of blunders at Palm Springs PO is phenomenal. Particularly, asking sensible question for mail and expecting to get sensible answer. After 3 weeks, I am still waiting for important documents to be delievered internationally. Not because Priority mail isn't expressly delivered, but because I told the Postal worker that my documents needed to be delievered secure and as quickly as possible and I was sold Registered Mail...the slowest way to send anything. While secure, it can take many customs flights depending on where it is going, (in my case India) and as of 3 weeks later no one knows where the documents are. I am so disappointed and downright pissed I was mislead. A simple "I don't know" would have prompted me to find out more info on my own as opposed to actually going through Registered and now waitiong and waiting and waiting. Don't be foolish like me...do your OWN homework and don't rely on potatoe heads here. You will be disappointed like me. There is plentyy info on line. I am fed up as this is about the 5th run in with Palm Springs PO in as many years...Jesus! I guess no one said you had to have an 8th grade education to work there. Sorry to all those postal emplyees who actually care...they are there...and also I could kick myself for not relying on my better instincts! Beware. read more
