Typical South City business- employees who don't want to be there, less than great cleanliness, always out of items. It's a 50/50 chance this location will have STAMPS. Yes, the #1 staple of a post office- maybe they'll have some, maybe they won't. Employees aren't quite as annoyed to have customers as a lot of South City businesses, but they're not really thrilled to help you, either. The bullet proof glass is very warm and welcoming. It's alright if you really need to mail something, but again, you're gambling with any city post office getting your mail to where it needs to go. If there's a county post office on your way to anywhere else, I recommend doing your postal business there instead. read more

It's a ghetto post office in a not-so-ghetto location (slight shade but not too bad) in the city. I don't really understand the need for bullet proof glass and no human interaction when it's in a pretty ok neighborhood. I think there is some history in this choice. That said, I've never seen a post office with bullet proof glass. Once the woman said "can't put it in there, gotta take em to the door!" I guess the sliding package glass was broken?? It left me wondering "what door? Huh?" Well, there's a gray door at the end of the main hallway. I knocked twice and waited and waited. Eventually hearing "I can't wait til 5 o'clock!!" Come from behind. Finally it opened and she took my packages. Ughhh. The are consistently lacking supplies in front, you cannot ship a package larger than the bullet proof glass encasement, and the front doors are awkward to open. One is also always locked in place. Parking is on the street but someone is always entitled enough to pull up and park on the sidewalk. Yeah, like the one for humans to walk on. I guess this is an "urban post office", short lines but big attitudes. read more

The random hours of operation have caught me up multiple times. Closed at 2:30 in the afternoon for " lunch?" Ooooooo-Kay. That is bullshxt. otherwise, nice young ladies serving there, generally. Had a few hiccups, but nothing major. I go here because it is closest to my house. Parking is usually not a problem. read more

Says it's open until 12:30pm on a Saturday, and yet there were at least 10 of us gathered outside, some knocking on the door, and all of us baffled by the fact there were personnel inside but the doors were LOCKED at 12:03pm. I call get it together and post accurate hours. read more

Random hours for lunch during which the door (the one that's working) is locked preventing access to the PO Boxes. It wouldn't be a big deal if the hours were consistent. As it was in the month of January, I've attempted to check my PO Box only to be thwarted because the facility was closed for lunch whether it's a Monday at 2:15pm, a Wednesday at 1:30pm, the following Tuesday 2:30pm--all on different days. If I could give negative stars, I would. Consistently, it's a merry-go-round with their lunch hours. Why does this location even exist??? It's like hitting the lottery when it's open during their posted lunch hours...and I still don't understand why the need to lock the lobby doors over lunch--totally prevents customers from getting their mail from the PO boxes. I love how people in the County turn down their noses at us City folk and are under the impression that EVERYTHING in the County is better. The Benton Park Post Office on Jefferson is a perfect example of how some things in the City are just... well... better! First and foremost, the ladies at this particular location are nice. Like, above and beyond most public service offices require them to be. And they're efficient - a trip here really is a quick in-and-out, even if you are sending a package and need a few moments to throw your items in a mailer. And call me a dork, but I like it when the people behind the desk of the Post Office give you an option of what kind of stamps you'd prefer. "The Forever stamps or The Simpsons stamps? I'll take The Simpsons. Thanks for asking!" Yes this location is sort of in a shady area. But I'd rather pop in and out of this Post Office than spend half of an afternoon at say, the Clayton location. But hey, that's just me. read more

I honestly drive out of my way from the county to go to this post office. There is rarely a line and my package usually starts tracking right away. The woman working is always helpful if I have a question and doesn't make me feel dumb. read more

I have a PO Box at this location but barely can use it because they are hardly ever open.

Friendly & efficient staff that get you in and out and on your way. Always let me pick out my stamps without seeming annoyed that I make them pull out every stamp option. There's plenty of street parking and a small parking lot that I've never seen completely full. Only complaint is that you can no longer pick up packages here(or haven't been able up in a while actually) you have to go to the Post Office on Mermac if you ever get one of those lovely slips that you have a package that the mail carrier wouldn't leave. One of the best post office in the city! read more

Cannot speak to anyone, my packages continue to be delayed almost a week. Over usps and their automatic phone response. All they can say is things will be delivered the next day, however it's many days past due. Will avoid using this post office in the future read more

I do hope that there is another personnel working at this location because so far this is the most unfriendly staff in St. Louis, I have been to this place before and thought about giving them another chance, but it is only getting worse! First of all no one ever is at the counter, any time you come in, and you have to stand and wait. Second, the person is so lazy and unhappy when she finally shows up, it is absolutely ridiculous! I will never use this one again for sure, just sad that some one so miserable has to hold this position. read more

If you're able to get helped, they're always friendly and efficient. However, almost every time I go the doors are locked. They close for lunch for multiple hours at a time. Today, a non-Federal holiday, I went at 1030, doors locked and no sign. read more

They have a parking lot that is small but usually only has one or two cars in it. (Andy W. is clearly on crack.) Also, they provide decent service. In fact, they provide such good service that sometimes the people in front of you in line will take too long. I like swinging in here to drop movies from Netflix into their outside mailbox. read more

Seems they only employ extremely rude people. Last visit (Friday 6/9/17 3:30pm) the lady working huffed and puffed when I showed up with multiple packages, sorry you had to do your job lady. These were going long distance and I spent over $160.00 so I expected her to be a little helpful BUT no. She actually took a call on her blue tooth talking about getting a $10 off coupon at bath & body works creating a line of people since she stopped working take this call. She rushed me through the process not offering me additional insurance which I gladly would have paid for. Last I checked the postal system needed all the money they could get, no wonder they are going broke the employees don't try and sell additional services! The only reason I return is proximity to my house but if I have a chance I'll use any other post office. So if you choose this one GOOD LUCK! read more

Parking here is awful. Anyone who has been will agree. And typically I find myself waiting ... but visits to the P.O. anywhere on Earth involve waiting, eh? For delivery of public services they do just fine. read more

You will never get your first class mail because the usps steals mail or the carriers are too stupid to read addresses. Avoid usps if you want your package delivered. read more
