My mail never goes through this office but this time for some reason it did. I have a package that was supposed to be delivered 10 days ago but it is still processing at this office. All my other packages and mail have been arriving except for this one. I tried calling the office but it is impossible to get an actual human being to answer the call. I tried to report a claim but that was also denied because of incorrect mailing address or tracking number which is not true since I checked with the sender. I hope my mail never goes through this office again. This has been a complete nightmare. read more

When there's someone there it's as convenient and easy as most post offices. BUT they're super undependable to be open during open hours. It's not the only part office in the area with staffing shortages. I've noticed one of the other post offices maybe closing up 15 minutes early every once in a while bc there will only be 1 person working but this location might be closed at 11am on any given day with nobody inside at all. I feel for the employees who are definitely overworked/underpaid and I'm extremely frustrated by how inconsistent this place is! read more

I have been waiting all day for this package that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I have been checking tracking on my phone and online ALL DAY LONG. At 6:17pm I received a text that my package was delivered at 11:18 am. The office closed at 5:30. REALLY!?!?!?! This happens all the time. ALL THE TIME. read more

Since we moved into our house a couple years ago, this is our post office. There's nothing remarkable about it. Parking can be a nuisance, because it's metered on Grand or you can park in Wyoming for free if you get super lucky. The lady who typically works is pleasant and helpful. The space is not so hot. Once you get into the actual space there's no windows or natural light. It's all kinda dingy and could use some major upgrades or an overhaul. There is something kind of endearing about dingy though, sometimes. Regardless, I will come here exclusively for convenience, not a whole lot else. read more

I'll admit it, sometimes I'm a complete flake. Drove by my corner mailbox to drop off some bills and threw an envelope with concert tickets in there too. Tickets to a sold out Black Crowes show that night. What's a girl to do? Rather than try to stick my hand down the mailbox and risk getting arrested or just plain stuck, I headed to work and Googled the USPS to find my local Post Office. Got in touch with the manager almost immediately (no red tape or secret passwords at this office) and he was incredibly cool about the whole thing. Apparently I'm not the first person to dump non-mail into the mailbox. Pfew! He had me wait at the mailbox and radioed a carrier to meet me down there. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes. The carrier was super sweet and we found the tickets right away. She even wished me a belated happy birthday! Who says that you have to be a jerk to work at the USPS? Certainly not at the Tower Grove office! Now if their courteousness would rub off on the DMV then the world would be a happy place! read more

Terribly unhelpful. A package was sent to the wrong address, and via a phone call, I set up package pickup. Upon arrival, the postmaster wouldn't even let me finish my story before giving me another address. I explained that the phone call told me to pick up my package at this location, the postmaster could not care less. She would not answer my questions, and had a terrible attitude. Go to any other location if possible. read more

I was reluctant to try this post office after reading other negative reviews, but, because of convenience, I gave it a shot. I showed up at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, right in the middle of their business hours, only to find a locked door. I stood there for a few minutes and knocked on the door twice, only to be told, "Stop rattling the door, I'm coming." I continued to wait for a few minutes, and no one ever came. I had to go to another post office. I will never be going to this post office again. Don't waste your time. read more

I love this post office! The ladies that work the counter make you feel like family. "Well, how are you doing today Sir?" They had me at "hello." The best customer service I've ever received. I still find myself driving across town just to pick up a stamp or two from this post office. read more

Thursday, May 28th, 2015, I arrived a little before 3:30 p.m. at the postal office at 3198 S Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63118, and once again discovered that the door was locked, a closed sign was displayed, and a clock card was displayed on the window that claimed "will be back at 4 p.m." This branch has posted hours that claim it is supposed to close at 4 p.m., and there were several people waiting to get in, wondering why the door would be closed when the hours listed the location as open. A friend of mine walked up, and claimed he had shown up at 3:05 and the door was locked, so he was coming back to see if it had opened yet. Another man, who was also very upset, claimed that this was the third time he had suffered this blatant disregard for the posted hours. I had seen this happen once before when I arrived at 3:45, but figured they closed early for some reason. But closing an hour before the posted hours is clearly unacceptable. My wife and I share a car, and so I had to walk quite a distance to the post office in order to mail an important and timely package on time. This was not easy for me, as I was still recovering from a broken leg. Another elderly man commiserated with me, as he had walked a much longer distance to mail a package, as well. I waited, thinking that at least when the postal employee returned, he or she would open the door and mail our packages since we had already been robbed of a great deal of time and subjected to aggravation. When 4 p.m. finally rolled around, the worker magically returned to the door, opening it to lock it, cavalierly claiming "we're closed." I asked how she could close now when the office had already been prematurely closed for an hour. I asked about the "back at 4" placard, and she refused to reason with me, instead claiming I should call her manager. I got the number for that manager, called her, and was told the manager was coming and would deal with the issue. 15 minutes later, the manager arrives, but all she does is tell those of us waiting to mail our packages that the postal worker was on her lunch break from 3-4, as if there never was any problem to begin with. "So you really close at 3 p.m., but keep the door and online hours listed as 4:00 p.m," my friend inquired. "No, we close at 4," the manager claimed, "but she takes her lunch at 3." Everyone was baffled, but this manager acted as if nothing was amiss. She claimed that they didn't have anyone else to take her place during her lunch hour, but my friend asked why this happens several times a week, as he had experienced it repeatedly. It was as if the manager, who is in charge of scheduling workers, could not care less who else her inability to schedule workers or lack of care whether offices are staffed negatively affected. It was just our loss, and she had no intention of rectifying the situation. She claimed we could go to another office that is still open, but the next nearest one is all the way in a different zip code on the other side of Gravois. "Will you drive me there in your postal van, then?" I asked. "We don't have enough room for you in the van," she responded. When we asked her why she couldn't simply do her job and mail our packages now that everyone was there, she claimed that the cash register was already 'closed out' for the day, and that it could not be reopened again. Basically, the reason she can't do her job now is because she refused to do it before. She already closed at 3, so she can't close at 4 when she is supposed to. read more

This Post Office is convenient for buying stamps and sending off packages. Although when it comes to receiving packages sometimes the ladies do not realize that the packages have arrived at the office and therefore you don't know whether your package has arrived. Another problem is when submitting a change of address to this office they do not adaquetly handle the change of address in the 7 day period it claims to, it took me a month and half to get an answer, which resulted with the lady requesting to sign up again, their system didn't process the information to change address effectively. And the sad part about it is, when I politely ask the lady directly in person about the status of mail and its expected arrival, she threatens me with my question of politeness to her as harassment to her by asking about the status of my mail, which should have been arrived weeks ago. Again this location is really good for purchasing stamps and sending packages, as for other services they offer such as P.O. Box and Mail handling, I don't think this lady can handle the other task and responsibilities adaquetly. read more
