I tried to call for help looking for a package being inadvertently delivered to my old address. This location NEVER answers the phone during business hours. When I finally got through via USPS Consumer Affairs, they were less than helpful. I was informed that the reason the tracking said "out for delivery" for 4 days was that the carrier failed to scan it back in. I asked WHERE the package was now, and was told they do not know. Maybe on its way back to sender, maybe being forwarded... It might show up on tracking again in a week or more, who knows? Beyond useless. read more

Never knew this post office was here, but glad I do now. I found that access to this post office was a little tricky, a bit tucked away which is probably both a good and bad thing. Service was rather slow when I went, though it may have just been the time of day or day of the week. It is the closest post office for me so I'll likely go there more in the future. NEVER NEVER EVER use this office. On the 9th of August I mailed a letter certified with request for a return receipt. It is now the 22nd and my package with costly and time sensitive material enclosed are lost and NO ONE can tell me why. 2 supervisors Tracy and Dwight (one of which helped me mail this package) continually swear they will call me back. Of course that NEVER happens. I sure hope they didnt get thier promotions for customer service. Because if so the United States Post Office has crappy standards for customer service. I agree that this is a terrible post office!! I was notified that an attempted delivery was made to my address and a notice was left. Not true! I was home all day on the date of the stated delivery and NO ONE came to my door and knocked nor was a notice left. I have attempted to reschedule but the website will not allow my request to go through. Talking to anyone is a bust. I have called the 1800-275-8777 number in a attempt to reschedule. There is no one to speak to. It just gives me the same info about the attempted delivery. I have also called this post office and there is no one answering the phone and no info as to what to do. It just states the call did not go through. There is nothing wrong with my phone so it has to be them. This issue has happened in the past. That time I did speak to someone who stated the package would be redilicered. Instead, the package was returned to sender. I was home that day as well. The physical post office is alright but no one picks up the god dam phone! First my package ended up at that post office instead of my local post office. Then they lost the dam thing and now they won't answer their phones. PICK UP YOUR DAM PHONES WHEN IT RINGS! If they worked where I'm currently working at, they would get FIRED for not answering their phones! Let me preface this with I have the best postman in Tierrasanta......but today was obviously his day off......so sorry for that. I met the temporary carrier at the mailbox at the end of my driveway, standing there with an arm and bag full of mail and packages to go out. He grunted "hi" at me and I waited until he had put the mail in the boxes, but then he turned around, started the mail truck and left me standing there. What the HECK does he think I am doing there with packages. I have met some idiots, but this one takes the cake!!! You surely can find some people that have a brain to deliver mail. I am so pissed of, I can't even tell you....he should be FIRED!!! What a complete JERK!!!!! Don't know what his name was, but he had to be out of the Grantville station......maybe he should stay inside somewhere and sort mail so he doesn't have to deal with customers and we won't have the displeasure of having to look at him!!! Woman was JUST DAMN RUDE!!! I wanted to buy stamps and she said no and closing the door on me. Yes it was closing time, but I just wanted to buy stamps from the machine and she let me in only b/c someone else was there. So because I had to buy more than just 5 the machine lets you buy all over again, so she gave me a DAMN ATTITUDE. Woman should be fired for such RUDE BEHAVIOR. You're in AMERICA! Purchased a home without mailbox keys. USPS.com referred me to this location. Called for instructions and Mary helped me with all the incorrect steps possible. She first told me it's easy to take out the mailbox and replace it at Homedepot. Then she told me a mail carrier will call me to setup an appointment to open it up for me. Then she disappeared mysteriously. This took about 3 weeks! Something like this should take 3 days tops. She clearly either did not know the procedures or she's jerking me around or both. Extremely unprofessional but acted as if she knew what she's talking about. 2 stars since I finally spoke with someone who actually knows his stuff or else it would be 1 star. read more

This location has the worst customer service, the representatives are beyond rude, well 3 of the 5 that I spoke with today. One rep, after giving me a hard time told me I had to wait 5-10 min for a supervisor, no problem. 3 min into the wait he said, "oh you patient huh" as he walked by me. He meant you're.. Another portrayed himself as the supervisor giving me the run around until I asked a question at which time he had to leave for some reason I'm not sure, he just left. Later the supervisor came out and said no one could help me and gave me a number to call. While I was waiting I noticed they closed the door 2 min early. If you can avoid this location, I strongly recommend it. If not make sure you come early. Truthfully I'm disappointed, not really in the professionalism because I don't think of the post office in that sense, but the common courtesy. They are definitely lacking there. read more

Zowee, reading the negative reviews I had to double check that I was reviewing the same Grantville post office. I've been impressed with professional customer service at this location. During the Christmas rush they had a representative stationed at the automatic postage machine in the lobby. Therefore customers paying with credit cards could mail letters or small boxes and avoid the main line. The times I've used the main line I've also received exceptional customer service. Yes, at times this location can have long lines. I wonder if Grantville post office is held responsible for things outside their control. If a letter is mailed at Grantville but subsequently not delivered in a different location... is the issue Grantville or the US Postal Service? Some reviews state Grantville won't answer their phones, or that calls which are picked up don't receive adequate answers. I haven't experienced these problems so I'll say A-OK! read more

My mail gets "lost" both coming and outgoing. This includes checks, credit cards, packages and Netflix. Complaints will only lessen the theft for a few weeks and then it starts up again. If you try to call them, no one will answer.... ever. It will ring and ring and ring. They just pick up the phone after 5 minutes and hang up. The post office itself is quite nice inside. read more

I have never had problems with this USPS. I come here often. I did start using stamps.com which makes most of my trips quick and easy. I suggest others start using that site as well. Anyways, yes there are lines but that is how it is. Ppl have to mail stuff, they have to type it in, get tracking, get insurance, blah blah blah. They have to make sure the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. The ladies can be tired near the end of the day, but what do you expect. Maybe treat them with a little more kindness and they'd be happy to smile at you back. They do get sick of customers treating them like crap. read more

I always dread going to the post office because I feel like it's really confusing and I have no idea what I'm doing and usually make my boyfriend do it. Today I sucked it up and went to get Christmas presents delivered. The lady (my receipt says clerk 20) had long dark hair was so sweet and helpful especially during this time of year when I'm sure they're busy and stressed. She was the only one helping people with a 8 person line and still took the time to make sure I was good to go. This post office is horrible. Do not try to call them because they will re route your call every where but to customer service - voice mail hell. I mailed a pkg on 12/9 and it is lost. Gone! Where? I have made calls to the US Post Office and had been assured someone from the Grantville PO would call in 2 days to assist me - NOT ONE CALL in 4 days. Then I get a call from the Linda Vista PO, not Grantville (?). Leaves no name and a phone number that rings busy for days - Nice. I have called again to escalate my missing pkg request to a higher level, not holding my breath for Grantville to be of assistance. I am so frustrated it is beyond words. That branch should be revamped! There are clerks there that just don't care about us as patrons. I paid for that pkg to be mailed. They need to step up and address it. My nephews may never see that pkg of christmas gifts, but I will not stop looking for it. I \want to know where it went terribly wrong & why? The post office says they are losing money, forced to close down branches, raising stamp prices......well take a look at the decline in customer service over the years. Perhaps if that was addressed by the government / management, you would not have been so easily replaced by the interernet with FREE shipping right to our address without failure! They are very rude. Basically ignore their own policies when they don't feel like doing them. I have been picking up my mail from this post office for the last 20 years. I would frequently hold my mail due to occupational travel and vacations. Generally I would wait in line to get my held mail. Each time the person behind the counter would say, "if you are just picking up your mail just wait at the end of the counter, so you don't have to wait in line". I don't recall ever seeing anyone manning this station. I would usually have to wait until the person who could help me came off their break. They always seemed to be on a break. Often I would give up and get in line. Then the person behind the counter would tell me that I should have just gone to the end of the counter, so "I wouldn't have to wait in line". This last week I came in to collect my mail that had been on hold. I was in a hurry, so I decided to go to the end of the counter and wait for help. I waited for 10 minutes which was not unusual. The USPS people behind the counter clearly saw me standing there. It was then a person behind the counter stated in a condescending and derogatory tone, "Sir, there is no one at that station (the station is never attended)." She spoke to me as if I was trying to cut in line. I then explained to her that I have always been told to come to the end of the counter when collecting my mail. She stated with an annoyed voice, "We are busy". Basically she was telling me to stick it in my ear and get lost. I looked at the line and it was now twice as ling as it was before. I left because I had things to do. I went to the end of the counter because employees at this branch had always told me to do this when picking up mail to avoid "waiting in line". I have picked up several packages this way in the last year. If they are not going to give out held mail at the end of the counter and save the person from waiting in line, then they should not tell customers that they will! I was going to have a talk with the supervisor, but given the rather large number of poor reviews for this location, I doubt it will do any good. They know they are rude, and clearly don't care. read more

Very bad service today. Two people at the counter. One was processing a whole stack of mail that was probably registered. Lots of different stamps being applied to each letter. Moving in a very slow manner and chewing gum in a very annoying way. She kept looking over at the other employee and making faces. At one point she kind of shouted out that we should have our paperwork ready before we get to the counter. The line kept getting bigger and bigger. The other lady had a woman who was mailing some large packages, I think I heard out of the country, and they required a complex processing. Finally, after more than 20 minutes they brought another person out to the counter. My advise, put the gum chewer in the back where her sour face will not be seen by customers. Secondly, when the lines gets more than 10 people in it and has not moved in more than 10 minutes, bring out another counter person to help out. read more

This Post Office is TERRIBLE. I have had 3 packages delivered from out of town to the Grantville Station and their were valuable Morgan Silver Dollars in each of those packages. My regular route carrier was on vacation and noone cared enough to help me in any way, shape or form. Tracy who is the supervisor at this Post Office said she would call me the next day concerning these packages and I never received that phone call. She did call several days later but had no important information pertaining to my packages. When my Route Carrier came back he said he found that the route carrier that took out his mail dumped a bunch of packages at our Office and left. He told me he would do everything he could to get this route carrier fired but no way, he is still carrier or dumping packages. I have to pay out of my pocket for an asshole that lacks integrity and responsibilty to deliver packages on time. Now I had a package that I brought to the Post Office on the 17th of January that states "package received" and that's it. I hope they can find this package because if they don't that nearly $150 out of my pocket. I would suggest to anyone reading this review, DO NOT GO TO THE GRANTVILLE POST OFFICE. I had a package sent to me and it was delivered to a parcel box, and then the key to that parcel box was put in the wrong mailbox so I never received my package. I called at least 10 times and the phone would just ring and ring and ring for two minutes and then hang up. No voicemail option or anything. Finally after calling numerous times with no answer, someone picked up and immediately put me on hold with out letting me get a word in. After being on hold for 12 minutes, the person answered and asked how they could help me. I started telling them my situation and they hung up on me. So I had to call 10 more times for another answer. This person answered and apologized after I had told him what happened and started helping me figure where my package was. He then said he was going to contact that person that delivered the package to see if they remembered delivering it and to where and stated he would call me back....should have known they weren't going to follow up. I never received a call back and will now have to call a thousand times to get anyone to answer again. Absolutely ridiculous. After reading other reviews on here I'm not excited to have to deal with these people and their terrible costumer service. read more

Wow!!! Be verrrrrrrrrrrry careful with this shipping location. I'm IN the shipping business and I'm sickened by the service and experience I had here and can only imagine this particular location being investigated for mail fraud and theft in the very near future. I took an item I had sold on-line into this facility to purchase an envelope to ship it in since I had already paid for and printed out my shipping label at home. The clerk clearly saw the item I was shipping and told me the envelope I was purchasing was strong enough to hold the item. I purchased the envelope and took the item back out to my car to package the item securely inside the envelope and making sure that it couldn't open during transit. I then walked back into the post office and handed the parcel over to the USPS Customer Service Rep. A few days later I received a Parcel Search Request letter in the mail. The letter stated that 'An empty wrapper with your address was found in the mail and is believed to have been separated from a parcel during handling.' Accompanying this letter was my shipping label which looked like it had been neatly sliced off the envelope. I searched the tracking # that was assigned to the parcel and it didn't show any tracking information after the printing of the shipping label. I went back into the post office and was directed with a wave of her hand by an older dark haired women behind the counter to a supervisor standing next to her. The supervisor was a middle eastern male that looked confused when I asked him about the letter I received, and what the next steps were that needed to be taken. I wanted to know how far the parcel traveled before the shipping label had 'come off' as he had said it did, but I pointed out to him that the label had been cut off. Again the letter stated 'An empty wrapper was found.' I asked him where the wrapper was? And again, how far the parcel got in transit? He pulled up the footprint of the tracking # I had with the letter and he couldn't even verify it was RECEIVED by the post office. He then went into the back to investigate the shipment. For 10 minutes I stood at that counter listening to the dark haired postal attendant berate, and be down right RUDE to the customers that asked questions regarding shipping rates. I almost spit blood I was so angry at how customers were being treated! She even threw one elderly customers larger envelope to the bins behind her making the customer gasp. The supervisor then came back out sheepishly and said that he couldn't locate my item and that I needed to fill out the back of the letter I received and send it in to start the search process. Before leaving I told him that I knew he wouldn't find my parcel when he went to search for it in the first place. It was stolen. The postal service customer service rep. knew what I was shipping and that item did not leave that facility in the envelope that I packaged it in.It left in the truck of an employees car...I've shipped many things over the years and this is the first time something like this has happened. But when you have crooked employee's who don't like their jobs this is what is going to happen. Never again. read more
