Honest truth? This US Post Office is way better than most of the other locations that I have visited in the San Jose region. Although there are usually only two employees assisting customers at the front counter, the location is excellent around office buildings and works great especially during morning traffic working hour commute off Montague Expressway and Trimble. I never had any problems rolling into the huge spacious parking lot. Setup is much better than US Post Office off Hostetter Rd and Lundy. Stress free parking options. Staffs are very focused on serving working class folks and businesses. Well trained and experienced. Customers are usually professionals and working class people in the neighborhood. No drama or loud noise. Interior is very clean and simple. The building is old, but the upkeep inside is pretty darn good for post office locations. Convenient and good. It's always a peaceful experience when I come here to drop off boxes/mail during morning hours. Getting in and out was very easy. Good value service for just being a local post office in the area. I will always consider this location over all other locations around here. read more

People usually don't enjoy going to the post office. Most of the time, my experience is a bit lackluster and I feel a bit like I'm at the DMV. The service at this specific location near my office is surprisingly nice! There are times of the year (in the past) where I would need to ship 30+ packages and didn't have a weigh scale and stamp printing system set up, so I would bring everything into the post office to deal with. I didn't like using stamps.com so this was my only other option. One of the workers here actually guided me on how to get a lot of this work done in the convenience of my own home without having to subscribe to anything. She took down my info and reached back out to help me get set up when I was in front of a computer. Setting up a PirateShip.com account and getting a Rollo stamp printer was such a game changer! I have been able to take care of so much in so little time now. I still stop by this location to drop off pre-labeled packages. It's a big location so there's usually space for me to pop in and drop off packages on the end. I highly recommend using this post office! read more

I usually use this post office to pick up parcels that are sent here since I am not home to pick them up. Usually they are actually really good about giving me my parcel in a timely manner, unfortunately, there was one instance where the doorbell to the door to pick up parcels was innoperable, so I had to knock on the door. I knock several times, and at some point starting banging because I got no response. It took about 20 minutes for them to actually realize I was there. It was not cool at all. Like I mentioned prior, usually these guys rock! This one little hiccup will not deter me from using their services. Just PLEASE fix your doorbell!!! read more

Very average post office. Never seen more than two clerks working at once. Nirpal has a huge attitude problem. I came in with multiple packages with pre paid shipping labels and just wanted a receipt for dropping the items off. She tried to go on about how if you pre pay online you can print something out so she only has to scan that one barcode for all of the items instead of separately, since she's too lazy to literally scan a handful of packages (which shouldn't take longer than a minute tbh). I told her it was through an app so I did not have the ability to do so MULTIPLE times after she kept trying to push the issue. I have no control over making the labels, it's all automated through the apps. Only came here because it was on the way. If I had any other choice, I would go to a different post office. read more

This location is fairly close to my home & the best part is it is usually empty which means, it's pretty tidy! The employees are all so friendly. Since the Pandemic is happening, there's tape on the floors that are 6ft apart. Pretty cool since some people don't know exactly how far 6 ft is. read more

Yes, you will always have a wait here but the access and parking is so easy unlike many other locations. The drive by blue boxes for letters have frequent pick ups BUT be careful about after hour drops as I have had a letter here stolen, luckily the police got the thief. I love the assortment of stamps that you can buy and the staff doesn't seem to mind to pull out the inventory. Lots of the reviews are on point though a bit overstated. read more

Came here to pick up a package that "could not have been delivered." (They totally could have left the package on the side...but whatever.) I came in at 8am, exactly when my little slip said to come in. I was behind two other people who were standing at the lobby door for early morning pick ups. The guy in front of the line said he had been there for 5 minutes and nobody answered the doorbell. We had to press the bell for another 5 minutes repeatedly for someone to come out. After my horror story of the previous one I have been since I live in SJ, this one was a breeze and the staff is actually nice and my transaction receiving a lovely package from Spain was fast and smooth. Not my favorite location. The line is always so long here.... They don't have any self service machines to buy stamps or to purchase postage for packages. If you have small packages to send out, you'll need to hand it to an employee at the front...they don't have a drop off slot/bin. read more

Parking is plentiful but when you get inside it starts to get confusing. There are no signs for pick-ups and drop-offs. Lines move rather slowly but I guess that's expected.. don't go on a Monday or on a Friday and this place will be heaven for you! read more

Not a fan of this USPS location. Not enough counters, usually very busy and I have to pick up all my packages here, even though I live 5 minutes from the main USPS San Jose Hub on Lundy. Can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that I am being serviced by this location. On the plus side pickups for packages are available on Saturday. While the branch itself is not open, they have a window for pickups...which usually has lines as well. read more

The pros: The post office is located in the midst of business parks and warehouses. The parking is easy. They always have 2 or 3 people working the customer service. After your 3rd visit, they start to know you. Last, they have a great clearance section after the holidays. The cons: It is still a post office. Nobody likes going to the Post Office. I normally don't Yelp things like post offices but I feel like it's my civic duty to steer people clear of this USPS branch. I know the post office isn't supposed to be an enjoyable experience but common people! This place is outrageous! Whenever I'm here I always feel like I'm in a scene from Office Space or that Ashton Kutcher is trying to Punk me. Are they intentionally trying to move slow? Is this some kind of cruel joke? Why me?! And then you realize, it's not you, it's how they operate with all of their customers (hence the inevitable long line). This place is *always* busy, no matter what time of day you come. Trust me, I've tried every possible combination, they all suck. (Not to mention that they were closed on Christmas Eve (though no sign on the door to indicate this)). They have 4 windows and normally only have one or two people working and both work sllllooow. I know they're government employees and so they have job security and don't really give a crap about their job performance but common, we're in a recession, there are millions of people (literally) who would kill for a job and would be working a lot faster than you are. When you finally make it up to the window, if the person actually speaks to you, you'll be greeted with a whole lot of attitude and zero help. There's no automated postal machine at this location so you have no choice but to brave the lines and the postal clerks. Hopefully you have a smart phone and a good attitude to get you through it. Given that I have the shopping habits of a female metro sexual shoe addicted crack head, I get a lot of mail. That, mixed with the fact that I have a mailbox that holds 3 business cards before it is overloaded, I visit this post office frequently. I swore I would NEVER Yelp a post office. NEVER. BUT... I saw the bad reviews and to be honest, the postal workers at this location are my kind of people. They take their time, don't like chit chat, and know that regardless of what you think, we need them more than they need us. On more than one occasion, the manager of this location gave me his cell phone to call him to come get my packages or mail after hours because he was still there working in the back. That's right. However, they have Air conditioning and certainly a parking lot big enough for a flea market sale. Mountain View on Hope St. (Turtle award) - Whether the customers buy stamps or ship packages, expect 3-5 minutes per customer. Santa Clara on 1200 Franklin Mall (Xtasy award) - Most energetic & happiest post office staff in the Bay Area! San Jose on 70 S. Jackson (Road Runner award) - they operate at DSL speed San Jose on 1750 Lundy (Time Square award) - Most traffiked post office in the Bay Area...even when there are no one inside San Jose at Junction (Biggest Parking Lot award) - Unless you drive a 18 wheeler, there is no need to visit this post office. read more

I have kept a box here for 3 years. Recently its harder and harder to get over to this side of town. I had an overflow slip so I walked to the line that was out the door. I excused my way past 15 people and asked the clerk if she can call someone for overflow. She said I would have to wait in line for someone to help me. Wait in line 15 people deep who have packages and letters to be paid for and mailed. Why. I just want one of the 10 people in the back to come out with my mail. Its not that hard. This place seriously needs to have some help. They line is always long no matter what day or time you arrive. I think next year I will be moving to a different PO. read more

It's a nice enough post office. I especially like the atrium where they have a recessed ceiling with the USPS's "Neither rain, nor sleet..." mantra in metal lettering. That's a nice touch for a newer post office. But the real problem is that despite of the fact that the office is spacious with a 24 hour lobby for its many, many P.O. boxes, the hours are quite limited; closing at 5pm on weekdays and no weekend hours. I am not demanding; I do not need a postal worker to hold my hand through preparing a package for shipping. I can read the signs that say to black out the "Flammable" labels on a reused box, that flat-rate boxes cannot bulge at the sides, and that while shipping liquids is a violation, shipping LEAKING liquids is crazy verboten. But there are no automated machines to calculate and print postage, or even a simple scale and a chart by which I could calculate it myself. There is only the quiet hum of a 1980s-era stamp machine with no other postal devices to keep it company, the poor old decrepit thing. read more

I actually like this USPS. I only come here when my books and other stuff off eBay get sent back here cuz I wasn't home to retrieve it. I've never ran into a line but usually I come early before 3 pm. The workers are really nice as well. Only thing I hate is that I'm directionally challenged. So I'll google the directions and they always take me the opposite direction! Google maps tells me to go down Plumeria and take a right on junction when it's really a left damn it! And beware theres drivers that will pass the entrance and will pull into the next block that says "EXIT ONLY" read more

I absolutely love this post office they went out of their way to make sure I received a very important package. The sender from Italy had sent it to me with only a little bit of information. The postal workers found me called me got my address and told me my very important package was available for pick up. My neighborhood mail man is the rudest person. He probably hates his job so badly that he has to take it out on the first person he sees. I'm walking towards my condo mail box area with my key in my hand. As I'm still trying to remember which slot is mine, I see all the mail doors are open as the mail man is putting mails in. Before I can say or do anything, the mail man said : "seriously, do you think you can just walk up here and take your mails ? Don't you see I'm working here ? You'll have to wait until I'm done. They decided they didn't feel like delivering it and marked it as return to sender. I verified with both the shipper and FedEx that the address was correct. I called this wonderful branch to ask them to hold it and I would just come pick it up. I was moving a couple days later and didn't want it lost. They said they would look and call me back but instead ignored my request. I called the next day, same thing. I was moving afterall, and communicated that, and that I didn't want it to get lost. Needless to say, this was sent away. HOWEVER, somehow after it was sent without being held, it was sent back to the Bayside post office where miraculously they were able to deliver it with the existing address as is. BUT I MOVED! So again, returned to sender. The package has since been lost, once again by USPS, and I don't appear to be getting a refund for the purchase that USPS could have gotten to me if a) the postman/woman wasn't a lazy sack that just didn't feel like delivering it when the address was correct on there. OR b) the lazy sacks in the office would have looked for it and held it there and I would have picked it up. Newman! read more

I had 5 large boxes shipped from the East Coast, on two separate deliveries -- one set of 2 were mailed earlier, the other set of 3 were mailed a couple days later. I was home all day all week, but they never came to the door or rang the doorbell! For the first set, the "missed delivery" note was actually at the door, which made suspect they came to the front door but never rang the doorbell. For the second set, they just left the "missed delivery" note in my mailbox. How lazy, to never even try ringing the doorbell to follow through with a delivery. I've never come to this USPS location so this review is based on phone customer service only. I had miswritten my shipping address so that it shipped to the wrong city - San Jose. It came to this USPS office, and I called to speak to the supervisor Gary to get help rerouting my package back to the right city. He was very patient and helpful, and he called the mailman with my package to bring it back to the facilities to be rerouted. Excellent support by the supervisor - I could not ask for a speedier and better process for my mistake. read more
