Every time USPS "delivers" a package, it's really just them dropping off one of these stupid little orange slips instead of the actual package. No knock, no doorbell, just a passive-aggressive note telling you to go fetch it yourself like it's some damn scavenger hunt. You can request a redelivery, but they won't actually do it. Your package will just sit at the post office, gathering dust for a month until they pretend to "return it to sender"... except the sender never gets it back either. ‍ Then comes the joy of picking it up. First, you have to battle for a parking spot downtown and pay for the privilege. Once inside, you'll find a line of 20 people all clutching the same stupid orange slip like it's some kind of USPS loyalty card. After waiting half an hour, you're finally greeted by an employee who looks at you like you're the inconvenience. Truly an amazing experience on par with getting a root canal with no anesthesia. Sellers, I'm begging you to please ship with UPS, FedEx, or hell, even DHL.

Most beautiful postal office in San Jose. It feels like a time warp walking in even if it's just for a few minutes. I don't work too far from here so I like to take a stroll if I need to mail something. The workers are fine considering they work for USPS -- I've never had any issues. There is one lady that is always overly decked out with shirt pins, jewelry, make up, and really long and bright colored nails. I believe she runs the little pop up service station -- it's easier for patrons that have simple transactions like stamp purchases or certified mailing. This location even houses PO Boxes for those that live in or near DTSJ looking for a secured mailing address. There is a second floor but I have no clue what is up there. I can just say that it is a beautifully preserved building. I hope the City of San Jose leaves it as such.

Passport services, yes sir!…read more We had a great experience at this post office yesterday while renewing our minor son's passport. The process ended up taking longer than expected--we went through three application booklets due to using a blue pen, making a mistake, and not completing part of the form correctly. Harry was the gentleman who assisted us, and he was incredibly patient throughout the entire process. He took the time to guide us through each correction and made sure everything was completed properly before we left. We never felt rushed or like we were inconveniencing him. Thank you Harry and staff. There was a line. They were open to 6:00 pm. The website said 3:00 for walk-ins. I stormed in there as if I was late for my appointment. lol So glad we took care of this before our big travel.

As I was waiting in my car in the drive-through line, the person in front of me shouted out that the box was so full she could not put one more piece of mail in it. I parked in the side lot to go inside. As I was walking in, a man told me the mailbox inside was so full you had to hand your letters to someone behind the counter. I was bummed because I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait in line. Fortunately, it turned out you could walk right up to a worker who was accepting stamped, outgoing mail with no wait. He kindly stopped me to say one of my cards needed two stamps instead of one. He also complimented the stamps I was using, which were WPA posters from the Great Depression that I bought a few years ago. It was so nice of him. This post office always seems to be crowded, but I've only ever had good service here, except the time I saw a manager throw an outgoing box across the room years ago. That's an image I'll never forget. I vow to mail my cards well in advance of Christmas next year.

So I remembered my husband mentioning to me that there was a post office on Cahalan Ave, which wasn't too far from where I was. As I approached the post office I noticed the driveway was a oneway direction. You enter one way and exit at the other end of the parking lot. Luckily I turned at the right entrance and found a parking spot in the front. They have their own parking lot that offered a large amount parking and one handicap parking spot. This was my first time here. When I entered the post office, I noticed that it was a lot bigger than the one I used to go too. They had several postal employees working the postal counter, which was nice. It seemed very efficient in there. They have a huge post office box section and some lockers. They also had an automated postage machine. They sell greeting cards and gift cards as well. I dropped my letter inside the Mail Drop box inside and left. Overall, it was a very nice experience.
