I dunno why people hate on this post office. It's USPS, you shouldn't expect much. At least this location opens on Saturdays for those of us work for a living. Everytime I went on Saturday morning, the wait is less than 5 minutes and the staff is relatively professional even though not the friendliest bunch. It's a post office, not there to make friends. If they would just put a damn machine in that they used to have in the Hacienda Heights branch, I would be a happy camper. It was so easy and painless. This location is great. No matter how ling the line is the staff is always on top of things and the line goes fast. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This is a pretty busy location in my opinion but the staff knows how to handle it. They are always fully staffed too. I appreciate their fast service. This post office is a responsible hub for the Walnut area and will often deliver to the wrong address. It has happened over 7 different times in the last 3 years. I didn't complain in the beginning when they delivered mail to the wrong address 2 (times) as I can imagine mistakes will happen but it has been over 5 times last year and now twice this year and it's still March 2021. I contacted their manager last year and he said that driver "needs to retire". seems like other people have also complained and the Walnut USPS knows about this problem but won't do anything to fix the problem. It seems like the driver on this route is exponentially getting worse at delivering mail to the correct address, and not sure if making another complaint will do anything but may have to upgrade to packages to signature deliveries because of their failure to act. read more

This is like the secret hole in the wall post office. You won't really even know it's there unless you look. There is plenty of parking and when you enter there are mainly a bunch of PO Boxes. It's a smaller postal location, but I like it better. I had to ship something the other day and the staff was so helpful. Even a customer in line who frequents here took the time to help me re-pack my box in a smaller box. I thought that was very kind how helpful he and the staff here. I don't ship things as much as I used to, but if I ever need to I will definitely hit up this Post Office again. read more

On Saturday, when my son checked mail on Pommel Court, he found out that the back of the mail boxes had been broken into and all mails were gone. This is the older version of mail boxes. THIS IS ONLY FOR THAT ONE PERSON. NOT TO ALL EMPLOYEES. I noticed all the office ladies and delivery ladies were all very patient and nice to customers. But there is always an Asian dude given people attitude. I come to this postal office all the time and this guy literally have a very unpleasant attitude almost every single time. The way he responded people is SO RUDE with NO PATIENT. One time, a guy was asking him something and his response SO unpleasant that the customer took back all his packages and left there (probably 20 plus packages). This USPS post station is nowhere near professional, they lost my package by misdelivery, wrongly accuse my neighbor for stealing my package. Despite my multiple attempt to sort thing out (3 months) they always give an excuse we will take care of it with NO FOLLOW UP. The courrier service is total disaster no responsibilities taken for your package, they dont really care for your mail also. better use DHL, UPS or Fedex. Avoid their services at all cost! read more

In general, I have no problems with the clerks working at the counter. The ones that I had seen working the counter for a long time had been pretty good at finding my packages delivered to me at my PO box because sometimes my packages were displaced. Recently, I had ordered something that would arrive to me in a large envelope, but it would be too large to fit in my PO box. I didn't get a notice or slip for pickup on the day that my package arrived, even though the tracking number said that it was delivered. I went in one week later to inquire about it. The first clerk who helped me said that I needed to wait at the door where the indoor mail drop off box was to speak to a supervisor. I waited by the door for over ten minutes and rang the doorbell several times to and no one came to help me. I went back to the counter and told the clerk that no one came to the door. I wished the second clerk had helped me the first time because she was usually good at finding my packages. This time she couldn't find the package, but she did make an effort to find it and she asked her supervisor for help. The supervisor got a bit snooty and told me that I should have come earlier. I work during the week from 9am-5:30pm..was she expecting me to leave my workplace in the middle of the day and miss a few hours of work? After the clerk spent quite awhile trying to look for my displaced package, the supervisor started yelling at me and accused me of lying about not picking up my package because according to her, everyone picked up the wrong package off the counter and then complained that they never got their packages. Okay, why are the clerks leaving packages on the counter for anyone to pick up? Secondly, she knew nothing about me and she had never seen me before but she assumed that I stole packages. How does someone steal other people's packages from the counter in the post office? There are cameras everywhere. They need to learn how to review video footage if people are stealing packages off the counter in front of the clerks and other customers. Also, I did NOT get a notice or slip to pick up yet my tracking number said "delivered". The supervisor eventually found my package, but said that she needed to talk to the clerk who sorted out the mail/packages to be put in PO boxes and continued to tell me that people complained all the time about not getting their packages while apologizing to me. I had my PO box here for a long time and this was the first time that I had an issue with a package delivered to me. I had a bigger issue with the supervisor who was very rude and unprofessional. I can't justify giving more than 2 stars for this post office. They're lucky that they got any for the clerks who had been here for a long time and helped me find my packages when they got displaced. I'd give a 0 if I could for the supervisor who didn't know how to talk to customers without telling at them and calling them liars. read more

I don't live nearby. I go to school in Walnut. When I need to ship something I do it on the days I come to school. This post office is not too far. I personally have never had bad experiences at post offices. But I've never had any GOOD experiences at them, until today. I've come here only twice. Each time I got this shorter lady, whose name is Lan/Lane? She's usually very smiley, good English, and takes enough time with people (not rushing or short with people and not too long). Every time I go there she manages to help me out. She is very knowledgeable about USPS services and it shows. One day I was about to mail something and she held it and asked what was it/where it was going to. With just a zipcode she said immediately it would be cheaper if I did it this-this-and-that way. Even taped up my box. My local post office charges me even a single strip of tape. I always save money when I come to this one, which makes me extremely happy. But she's always very polite, spends just the right amount of time with each customer, and always seems to help them out/make sure they are satisfied and getting the most cost-effective service. I like that. Considering how awful a job it is to deal with people in an environment like this, it's nice to see someone who works hard to smile and be pleasant here. read more

It's a post office. People complain about the attitudes of the employees here but you have to realize that they're government workers. They really don't care. If you listen to their rules (like hours closing at 5pm) you won't have a problem. They lock their doors at exactly 5pm so you can't blame them if you arrive a second later. The employees here so seem fed up though but I understand... Dealing with the community for so many years will do that to you. Other than that, I've never had an issue here. I don't know who the current postmaster is however he or she is literally interfering with my mail service. I am filing a complaint with the Postal Inspectors over this. They have removed any posting as to lobby hours and today, Saturday, the lobby was closed at 3 making it impossible for me to get my mail from the PO Box I pay for (and have for over a decade). I mailed a package on 3/25 from the Walnut Post Office on Lemon St. due to arrive on 4/1. As of today, (4/28) the tracking still shows being in Bell Gardens and not near its Illinois destination? I opened 2 cases with the US Postal Service at their request to investigate. I went to the Walnut PO this morning to collect a begrudgenly reimbursement for shipping only, not for the contents of the package! While standing in the lobby for 45 min. I observed only 1 counter person working at a time. There were only a total of 6 people working in the entire Post Office according to a lady working from a chair in the lobby, Juanita. She was otherwise helping customers self serve mailing their parcels at a machine. I found it interesting how guarded she was on telling customers that they guarantee nothing with the shipping of a parcel at this time and encouraged the people to pay the higher shipping cost to insure they would at least get their shipping refunded if lost? I was made to wait for Juan to come out of his office to sign the approval of the refund when he was expecting my arrival. Then I was made to wait until Doris left her shift and Janet came onto her shift. Then Juan came out of his office to sign the approval and give it to Janet and ask Juanita to punch in the code in the computer for a refund. Finally after 45 minutes in the Post Office I received my refund! There is a better way but our Post Office does not have the capable hands to deal with business in these times. They must remember without customers they do not have jobs. read more

This place is for real the worst usps office ever and I've been to all the ones around the area. So I got a notice that my package was "attempted" to be delivered but there was no one at the house and so they took the package and says to pick it up in person, I thought it was dumb like why not just leave it by the back porch. I gave them the note and they gave me my package, I wrapped it up because it's a gift for a family member and not only two days after that they called me saying it's the wrong package...like how do you just give me a package that isn't mine and that you clearly saw my name and information and everything, it's literally not that hard to do your job and when the lady was on the phone with me she was like oh how come you didn't look at the address like it's my fault??? It's a gift for a family member of course I'm not opening up the package. I can't believe this place like y'all really shit talk about your customers y'all are loudmouths, The manager is even more rude and pointed at me and said I had to wait like what the fuck, how fucking rude. And assumes I probably stolen from this persons package cause I can hear them talking behind their little counter about me saying "oh yeah they're that type of persons" like is it the way I dress or what and you do not ever disrespect or talk about your customers like that. YOLANDA and JANET are the rudest people you'll ever come across in the Walnut post office. I've had HORRIBLE service both times I've been here, and both times I filed a complaint with both of the ladies that "helped" me. 1) Yolanda. I came here to drop off a package for delivery. She made it an extremely difficult and frustrating process that left me shaking with anger afterwards. She was rude and dismissive, but with the customer after, she was accommodating and informative. I have never felt insignificant before, but she definitely gave off that attitude. I just came to her with need of some basic information, but she couldn't even do that part of the job right, let alone helping out a customer. I don't understand why she still works there. There are plenty of more qualified and DESERVING people that can do her job better. 2) Janet. I came to pick up a package. And the ENTIRE time, she made it difficult when it, again, could've been a very basic process! She made me get out of line, print out a receipt, bring it back to her, then told me I couldn't pick up a package because it wasn't under my name, when I told her from the beginning that it was a gift I was sending to my boyfriend. I understand policies and whatnot, but I DON'T understand the attitude and bitchiness that comes with it. Is it my age, my race, I have no idea, but I do know that once again, I was treated like I didn't even matter when the customer after me was treated with respect. She was even borderline flirting with him, giggling and smiling at him at everything he said. Formal complaints aren't doing it justice for me. It would be the best thing for Walnut if these two employees were rightfully fired. Trust me, they will not be missed. I understand the post office is stereotypically known for having depressed and angry people who hate their lives and their jobs. But that doesn't mean you get to be who you are. GET OVER YOURSELVES. You are a waste of space in your position and in society. Well after a complaint we got a new community mail box. Thanks to the Postal service in Walnut CA. These new mail boxes are made of thick steel and they are resistant to would be mail robbers. Well this puts my trust back in the US mail. I will be using the mail to ship my packages. On the positive side a few mail sorting employees were arrested around the nation. First off, I used to work for USPS, so I know how things are supposed to work. Anyway, at this spot, the people in front seem nice enough. It's the Asian looking guy in the back that has an attitude problem and tries to power trip. He acts like you are doing him a disservice by dropping off packages, and God forbid, giving him work to do. The whole time your offer of business will be greeted by arrogance and aggression. He will treat you like an idiot if you pull up with a truck load of packages to drop off, and will tell you to park far away in a section that says "government vehicles only" instead. Doesn't matter if you are dropping more mail off than 3 standard mail trucks combined and would have to make 10 trips, he will power trip and do whatever he can to make your time unpleasant to dissuade you from ever dropping off there again. He will sarcastically tell you that you could drop off the mail in other cities too, then will over-examine your packages to find anything to complain about, and ask you questions like you are an idiot. You do NOT feel safe leaving your packages with him. The sanctity of the mail means nothing to him. I will monitor closely whether my packages arrive safe without damages, since he gave me serious reason to doubt that they would. I worked with my share of crappy people at the post office, but by far this is the laziest, most arrogant, sorry excuse for a worker I have ever seen. I have no idea why management keeps him hired. If you do have to keep people like him hired, you need to put people like that in maintenance, where they can't interact with the public or interfere with business. Newsflash: snail mail is dead, and USPS is already on the ropes. UPS/Fedex and email have all but kicked USPS halfway into the grave. If USPS leaves people with no customer service skills and attitude problems in positions where they can dissuade business, then everyone at USPS can kiss their jobs goodbye in a few years. Like other Yelpers mentioned, they refused to scan the package and refused to give me the receipt of drop-off by saying Walnut USPS branch handle too many business and they cant scan it. Now my media mail package is gone and I dont have any proof of dropping off. Stay away from this USPS. Rude worker, poor service. Never going back to this location ever. read more

I have to agree with the rest of the reviews. Employees at the USPS Walnut branch aren't the most pleasant people to work with. That being said, I'm not talking about the lovely men and women that deliver mail to your home and offices. Employees in here rarely smile and if they do its with each other. They're helpful, but they throw off a don't-bother-me-go-away vibe. The one time an employee was nice to me was when I picked up my college diploma. Despite the angry-esque employees, this is still a very convenient location that offers every USPS service possible. If I could give negative stars I would...this post office has lost 2 of my packages this year already. This location refuses to scan you packages if it's already labeled and tells you to just leave it on the desk or drop box. However, if you leave it with them without scanning in front of you....you'll risk having your package be lost!! I really don't understand how they can lose your package? I mean unless other customers or the staff in this post office steals our packages. I've already tried to do an online claim, but because my package was a first class mail which doesn't have insurance meaning I cannot get my money back. read more

Then she told me to do it next to the table even though no one was next in line - no one! I didn't know how to use this special tape dispenser and she literally just watched me struggle with it. I would give it 5 stars except the parking fills up pretty quick. Then the traffic buildup starts because your not sure who is waiting for a parking spot and who is in line to do the drive thru drop off. So it can be a problem. I usually park at the back part of the B of A parking and just get some cardio in with a brisk walk. DO NOT come just before closing it's like Black Friday in there. I give it four stars because i take care of the shipping costs at home. So i just walk up to front desk and drop my package off and give the worker behind the desk a high five ( in my mind ) and walk back out as the people in line give me the look that you get when you get to skip the line waiting for an upscale club. " Who is he? Why is he special " Just keep staring at the back of the persons head in front of you and don't worry about it. lol. Little harsh but i think more people should do that from home. I mean unless you rarely rarely ship stuff. What can I say i love this location. Beware if there is a long line and people are annoyed they might give you a 4th& Goal line defensive stand and you may have to actually tap them on the shoulder and say EXCUSE ME after they ignore your first two requests. read more

Horrible! They lose your packages, and refuse to scan them for you when you drop off. They expect businesses to bring all packages before 3 which is impossible especially during the holidays. They act like they hate their jobs, which I understand. However, it's still their job to treat the customer a little better than they do. I caught the worker in the back throwing packages into the bins even ones marked "fragile". I know they're busy and I don't expect them to take their time and put the boxes down gently, but I also don't think it's right that they throw the packages with full force. read more

If you want to see what inefficiency looks like, come to this location. The attendants are friendly and fast, but how they get things done is a whole other thing. There are times where they have to take the package to the back and they'll be gone for 5 minutes. This post office is usually my go-to place as it's pretty close to my house. The wait is usually pretty long, but that's to be expected, I guess. I didn't really have a problem with it as I mainly used the drop off center anyways. Until one day I had to pick up my boyfriend's package for him. I never got his name, but the man who "helped" me out was both rude and unprofessional. He wouldn't give me the package even though my boyfriend had signed off it off, and added my name to the slip. He had me show him my license and told me neither my name nor address matched the package. Well of course! It's not my package. If you're not going to allow others to help pick up packages you should remove that option from your notification slips. I get that working at a post office probably sucks, I do. But your job entails some customer service. You don't have to do it with a smile, but do what you're paid for. read more

I live in the Rowland Heights area for many years and I never had a problem with packages being delivered in my area from City of Industry and La Puente post office until WALNUT POST OFFICE took over my area. Several packages went missing which I didn't file a claim on until it was becoming more frequent and I got tired of it. Two packages which I did file a claim on online that until today I haven't received and clearly states by the tracking number it was received by the Walnut office. A supervisor by the name of JUANITA at that station finally reached out to me to give me a bunch of excuses on why I didn't receive my packages which have been close to 3 months. Naturally I was frustrated, but she handled my frustration with condescending attitude. Telling me specifically " where am I going to your package... pull it out of the air?" "You don't like our services go somewhere else..." " tell the people you bought your item from to use priority shipping next time..." and lastly " so what do you want me to do...!?" thanks for your service JUANITA ... I hope you get the same treatment as a customer of you ever need help everywhere you go. You are unprofessional as a supervisor and someone should really look into your behavior and attitude towards people who require your assistance. read more

Quaint lil PO close to home. And staff is pretty friendly, and they try to get you in and out as fast as possible. Can't really come here til the weekends tho, so it can get pretty busy, esp since it's small. They usually have only 2 associates helping everyone out. Hopefully you live really close by (which I assume would be the case if you're all the way out in the area), and you can see how many cars are parked in the lot and come back a little later if it looks overcrowded. read more

so many haters posting on here, but I've always experienced great customer service.. I mean it is a post office job, how EXCITING can it really get? Lol. Give these ladies a break, I'm sure they deal with enough customers that give then a hard time. People forget that being nice will also urge them to be nice to you. I am especially thankful for the time I had to kindly ask them to open up the mail drop box (outside by the parking) because I realized I didn't have enough postage on the invitations I dropped off approximately an hour before. (5x5 square envelopes need 21¢ more postage, didn't know that until I happened to read the tip listed below by a fellow Yelper). On the contrary to previous reviews, I have been given relatively good service at the Walnut USPS Office by both Miss Barbara and Miss Janet. Upon mailing items to Australia, they were helpful in answering my inquiries of AUS mailing format, Priority/Express Mailing rates/packaging options, and actual expected delivery dates. Also, both have assisted me with patience in assuring I have the correct postage for mailing my wedding invitations (by verifying the weight of a single assembled invitation) and in taking my 'bulk' mail directly into mailing bin.
