On the contrary to previous reviews, I have been given relatively good service at the Walnut USPS Office by both Miss Barbara and Miss Janet. Upon mailing items to Australia, they were helpful in answering my inquiries of AUS mailing format, Priority/Express Mailing rates/packaging options, and actual expected delivery dates. Also, both have assisted me with patience in assuring I have the correct postage for mailing my wedding invitations (by verifying the weight of a single assembled invitation) and in taking my 'bulk' mail directly into mailing bin. This post office is unreliable when it comes to mail delivery. My mail gets delivered too often to the wrong place or I don't get it at all. Unless they have changed managers since the Covid situation, the manager there is not very responsive or helpful. I have been a Walnut resident since 1987 and this location is messy with trash spilling over out of the trash cans in the lobby, the upkeep of the outside lawn and premises is awful and it is not a pleasant place to transact business. read more

I like to talk to the staffs here, they always are helpful to answer my questions. My package label has a problem to send out, and it is been staying LA for 6days, I tried to call USPS online costumers service, I waited for an hour and was not changed anything. Today, I asked the staff about this issue when I dropped off another mail. She cares about my issue and asked for help to her supervisor. The supervisor was so nice and helped me to print out a product tracking sheet help me to prove that I was sending the item on time. They are so nice and I should at least write a review here. Had the worst experience this morning at this post office. Yolanda is very rude and ignorant. She tried to talk over me and not listen to my needs. She spoke to me as if I was incompetent and I did not what I was asking. She assumed without hearing what I was telling her. She asked for proof of utility when the form does not require it. I asked to speak to her supervisor and said there was none. She then decided to take out her cash drawer and avoid answering the questions I had for her. As others have said, the staff here is very rude. I had asked the Postmaster, Adam, to release and send out a package of mine they were holding. 2 weeks later I called back to confirm he had sent out my package (as I didn't get anything) and he yelled, "I SENT OUT YOUR PACKAGE OK, DONT CALL ME BACK AGAIN" and hung up the phone. Spoiler alert - I never got the package either, possibly due to Adam's incompetence as well. read more

I love the Walnut post office. Everyone smiles and says "hi". They get the job done effectively in my own experiences. I even had a third-party seller try to rip me off one time saying that I couldn't return the package because I had already opened it. I showed the postmaster the package and he said "No, problem, we'll return her package to her." Then I had to notify Sears that the package was returned to the seller and a refund was in order. If you ever have a problem just ask to speak with the postmaster next time. Happy posting! read more

Really terrible service! Not only in this location. I always lost my mail, always mixed-up mail in my mailbox. Also the most disappointed thing was I had a 1-day delivery and signature required mail. I still didn't get it even though 10 days passed. I called there office several times, nobody answer the phone. Also I called customer service for twice time spent 30mins to wait for there agent for each time. They only gave me a case number, they can't do anything, they can't solve any problems. Redelivery request is means nothing. Neither redelivery nor tracking history updated! What a terrible service they have!! read more

I came on here a few times if I'm doing something near by and can't make it back to south hills in time. Both times were horrible. The front counter workers seem to hate their job. Rude and sarcastic, I wish I got their names. Asian male was the last to help me on a Saturday. Though he tried to act friendly the sarcastic undertone was apparent. Not sure why so many negative reviews for the Walnut location, but Louis (i think that's his name) at the Walnut location helped our business out superbly! He answered the phone and helped our company gain access to our mailbox. Our mailman showed up at our door (Nelson Stud Welding) within 20 minutes carrying our mail. FRIENDLY SERVICE???????????????? haha depends on which cashier that you're encounter with. Most of my experiences were "TERRIBLE." Especially the chubby asian lady who mostly serves at the special line for business. Not just to me, I see them treated other customers very inpatiently as well. Plus the wait time is very LONG as well. That is the reason why I do not come here to ship out my packages anymore. I now go to West Covina Postal Office, little wait and definitely better services. Suggestion to Walnut postal office: Please treated everyone with respect. You are tired of serving all the customers, but in the same time we are tired of waiting in the line as well. The only good thing about this post office is they have a large parking area. The service is really really sux. Especially the asian lady on the very left hand side window. She gives attitude to all customers. She has PMS mode on 24-7-365. Sometimes she even yells at customers. I had been there many times since I used to work around that area. I saw many people got mad at her. One time a nice lady even cursed really bad at her LOL. I won't go there anymore, I want to save my energy for something else than be mad at her. read more

For the past few months now the mail sometimes shows up past 5:30 pm. It is now 5:40 and the mail still hasn't arrived. Years ago our mail was delivered around 2:30-3:00 pm. This is got to be one of the worst post offices I've been to. Their service is extremely rude and horrible. The people there definitely aren't interested in working there and you could tell they hate their jobs. The lines are long and at times they only have one person even when the store opens and there are employees just hanging out in the back chatting. Avoid this location at all cost. read more

I am updating my review. Last month our mail carrier left our cluster mail box door wide open. My entire street's mail could have been been stolen. I spend about 30 minutes going houses to houses informing the neighbors on my street to get their mails. You would think that's the worse that could happen. Now the mail carrier leaves the keys to the parcel box to the wrong mail slots. The key to my package in the parcel box was left with one of my neighbor (who I do not know). The key to another neighbor's package was left in my mail slots and, I gave them their package. That same neighbor mail slot has a key that would not fit the remaining parcel boxes. Where is my package? How can a mail carrier be this careless? Maybe yelp should start a Zero Star review... read more

We've been coming here to ship or drop off our package frequently this past months. Most days that we come in and the workers there are very pleasant and friendly and helpful. But there is this one old Asian lady that we just can't stand her and try to avoid her as much as possible. She has this attitude... so today again (she's there) at the first window. All I asked is for the window label pouch for my shipping label. It happened to printed on non pre-stick on. My package is small today so I requested 1 pouch/ label pocket. She said "no" and " the pouch is for Intl' shipment only." Really? I request before even for just 1. She said you just have to seal it on. I don't have the tape with me. Wtf! you can can't give 1 label pouch so I can drop my package off. I even said again for just one package, I need insert my shipping label to drop the package in the box. But she's still refused to give me one. USPS, can you explain this? You need to talk to this lady at the this location. She's really rude! There's a lot of seniors that comes in to drop off package too. Don't need to make it difficult. We paid for the shipment. Not that we ship it free. The pouch should not be an issue. If I can give no stars I would. This is the worst post office ever. I live in the City of Walnut and this is the second time I've had an issue with my delivery. The first time was when they delivered a crushed wreathe because the mailman stuck it in my mailbox that clearly didn't fit. Who does that? You can live it in front of the door. Don't try to stuff it because you clearly broke it (whoever you are)!! Now my package is missing. It was scanned as delivered, but I never received it. The thing is there was 2 packages that scanned as delivered that day. One was at 8am (didn't receive) and another at 10am. Do they really go back in a couple of hours??? So when I tried to talk to a manager I spoke to the RUDEST person alive! She clearly didn't like her job because she didn't know the word customer service. The rudest person on the phone. No manners and no empathy. The only thing she told me was that it was scanned therefore was delivered with attitude!! I don't know if they realize that packages they are delivering people paid money for. I am so frustrated by their lack of understanding. For the money I pay to live in this city I'm scared to have anything sent because it will either get destroyed or lost. This is a great city with a horrible post office service. read more

I agree with the other yelpers, the staff working the front desk are NOT very friendly at all. They seem irritated that you came in. Not helpful either. Lines are long here. I prefer to use the kiosk in the lobby to mail packages or buy stamps. Actually, better yet, go to another USPS location. I like the USPS locations in West Covina and the other location in Irwindale. The smaller USPS in Downtown Covina always had very friendly and helpful staff. read more

I'm not sure what it is but it seems like everyone likes to hate on USPS. If you are expecting to pay for your postage on site you will most likely have to wait with the masses who have no clue what they want when they get to the post office. I understand everyone is in a rush to get in and out of the post office but sometimes you need to plan to wait because there are just as many people like you who are in a rush. I've never really had any issues at this post office. I prefer this location to the Rowland Heights location which always has 7+ people in line. They always have someone helping out with the machines if you want to pay with credit or debit. If you can I would suggest going online to pay for your postage if you are lucky enough to have a scale and know exactly how you want to send your package or send your package flat rate so you don't have to weigh anything. You can then just walk in and drop your package off at any counter without waiting in line ever! Overall, this postal office is pretty accommodative compared to many others. read more

If only zero stars were possible. They wouldn't accept my packages because the prepaid label said shipping from Pomona CA. I was unaware that each post office operated individually. I also had an express package dropped off at walnut previously that didn't make it in time. I called and they said to go into any post office to get a refund. EXTRMELY rude over the phone. I explained my package has not come yet, gave her my address and she said they have not come to my street yet. We clearly got mail. There was a postal truck outside. I think I know what the mail people look like. So unprofessional very rude. These people cannot do their job. Very disappointed. I will no longer order online or at least have it sent to my house(probably a friends house who have nicer postal workers) Another thing is when they drop the mail off, they sometimes come back 2 or 3 times! Extremely unprofessional, most of the time I left there with very sour mood. The clerks (some times there was only one and long line) must really hate their jobs. They're mostly emotionless and cold. One clerk by the name of Yolanda (sitting at far left, with long black hair) was the worst, she was quite rude and wouldn't even properly "look" at me when addressing my questions related to my transaction because the postage came out higher than usual. I agree that people are rude. They have no customer service aptitude. You can tell the minute you walk in there is no happy face. Maybe it's from top management down. Not directed specifically to DB PO, but in general Packages sent via USPS must be traveling on the Pony Express. 1. Tracking system is worthless, 2. Estimated delivery date worthless, 3. Entire webpage is useless when it comes to these important factors. I wanted to give our Postal Service a try, but now I know why UPS and FEDX do so well. Too bad so sad. read more
