He gets bad reviews because people come in without the proper required documents and he rejects their request bc it's against the law, so people flip out on him. You know those times when you're not at home, but you need to sign for a package to receive it? Yeah, well, they left a notice at my door to come over here to pick it up. Came in at 9am on a Saturday, which is right when they open. There was already 12 to 15 people in line, waiting. I was able to get my package and leave pretty quickly with no issues. Make sure you have your ID on you, as well as the notice! They seem to also do passport stuff here. Grabbed 2 copies of the paperwork near the entrance for the bf and me to fill out for passport renewal. Anyways, it's a pretty busy place on a weekend, and the customers are all very...unique. Parking spaces aren't too bad, but people somehow suck at parking and driving. My car almost got hit 3 times while trying to get out of the parking. read more

Today (11/29) I did not receive my mail or the package I was expecting despite the mail person parked in front of my house for hours. They drove off at 4:30 so I went to this post office to get my mail. I was told I was on one of the last drops and it would be delivered within an hour. An hour and a half later, I did not receive my mail nor my package today. This is why people do not trust USPS: they're lazy, inefficient, and are only there to placate you. I would be happy just to go in and pick up my mail, It'd be much more consistent and reliable than what they're able to provide. I'm not sure if it's just this office or how all of the USPS conducts business, but it seems like they've got no shits to give. It's not their mail, right? read more

I visited the Westminster post office to get my kids a passport and the service was absolutely terrible. We had to wait an hour and a half past our appointment time with no apology and did not end up getting what we came for. The first lady that talked to us, Nhu (RUDE & DUMB) refused to help us and sent us over to another lady, Nancy ( DUMBEST EE). She had the WORST attitude I have ever seen. She continuously reminded us she was "working past her time" and became aggressive when we asked for her name. In the end, she REFUSED to do our children's passports. Her exact words were, "One more word and I am not doing this." I cannot believe our experience at the Westminster Post Office. It was extremely unprofessional and I hope this never happens again. read more

I gotta say I loathe the post office!!!!! They have made life way more difficult than need be all because someone didnt feel like doing their job. So they sent a very important package across country next day mail and because someone didnt want to work, sent it to the wrong address!!!!!!!! Customer service is no help! If you can manage to get past that IVR! And even though I paid for the package, I cant correct the address and no one else can either apparently. But I paid for it. Came here to ship out a handgun for the shop I work for apparently the license (ffl) is not the right requirements to ship a fire arm from a certified fire arm dealer. Got an issue with a prepaid package that showed that it was returned to me but it never did. Went to this location to inquire about it and met with a dufus with white hair and glasses who claimed that the package was returned because it was sent to an international address. When I asked him why that would be an issue, he changed the explanation to maybe the barcode couldn't be scanned and that maybe the package was with customs??? Dude kept changing his explanation of why the package couldn't be delivered and had no idea where the package was. Very Disappointed in the Customer Service in the male supervisor We originally mailed a package to my mom who is in WV. It contained some vietnamese fruit that my mom has been craving since theres nothing in WV (off topic!). Anyway, freaken cost us 84.50(!!!), but thats not the problem. The problem is the package came back to us. I checked the tracking order, AND it went alll the way to the processing center in Charleston, WV then got shipped back (REALLY!?! YOU HAVE ONE JOB!) Apparently they lost the shipping label during the process...(AGAIN..ONE JOB!!) So I went into the branch and requested for a refund because that's disappointing that we paid that much and the service was not successfully served. The clerk asked me if I wanted to reship it and I told her no, the fruits are rotten now. I want a refund. I expressed how disappointed and frustrated I was, and I also explained to them that I dont think its their fault because they clearly accepted the package with an address (otherwise they would have to deny it, right?). I'm saying its frustrating that it is clearly USPS' fault for losing the shipping label during the process when we paid that much. So the supervisor (brunette lady) told me I needed to go online to file a claim and take care of it online. Ok fair enough, maybe its out of their control. Took pictures, wrote them an email explaining the situation, etc.. A few days later they told me I need to take care of it at the branch.... ( -_- i hate you guys...) Alright so I go back into the branch and explained to them the situation again and even told them that I got a call telling me I need to take care of it in store. So a male supervisor came out and told me I can't get a refund because it was delivered to WV and I received it.....UHHHH NO. my mom never received it! and even though the shipping label was lost, I cant get a refund because I successfully received the package back... Basically bottom line is I can't get a refund because I received the package...even though USPS were the ones that lost the shipping label and caused a delay and caused the fruits to rot. By the way, he was fucken rude. I was frustrated and stated "so basically I lost 84.50" he responds with "yep" and then I asked if I can least get some sort of USPS credit and he responds with "nope" ....... -_- I get about being firm towards a company policy but there are other ways to approach it than have a "well you're shit out of luck" attitude. I was expecting a package to be delivered but the particular day they are doing construction on another street and, I guess, the guy's GPS tried to send him down that street. Anyway, an incident occurred and I rushed back the post office even though it was 30 minute after their closing time, and as I sped down Bolsa, I was frantically trying to dial their number and actually talk to a person instead of the pre-recorded voice. So I get there, park, and run in. The manager (I assume) told me that they were closed and I told him the situation. He let me through and I went back to David who took care of my stuff earlier that day. I would imagine that post office workers, like Laura S. mentioned, would be bored out of their minds like DMV workers, but David and his other mail people were cracking jokes and laughing and smiling the entire time I was there. Back to the story, I explained my situation and Mr. David was more than happy to cancel my transaction. As he did so, he would talk to me about all the ways to avoid fraud and his rather large, female coworker nearby would let out the occasional, soulful, "MMMMHHMMM!" I walked out of that place with all issues resolved. I like it when public service members go out of their way for you :) This place has been promoted to my official post office! You're probably thinking, "Chris, you must be either intoxicated or insane to give a 5-star review for a post office." I'd normally agree with you, as waiting in line at the post office is like being in purgatory. However, service here was pretty damn stellar. Lady I was dating wanted to travel and suggested I get a passport (I've never had one before). Since you need one to get back into the U.S. and being an alternate form of ID, it sounded like a good idea. I tried finding locations online, but most places were either booked solid in the afternoon or were only open a few hours. A coworker told me she got hers at this location and they're open Saturdays. I printed out my forms, donned a shirt/tie/blazer and make the arduous trip from Long Beach to Huntington Beach. Meet the friendly postal employee, David (who wasn't ensconced in bullet-resistant plexiglass) and was quickly ushered to the front of the line. David: "Here for a passport?" Me: "Yes...did the tie and blazer give it away?" David: (chuckles and nods) "Sorry to tell you that we're all booked for today." He showed me a list of 20 people, but told me that there's another processing center in Santa Ana that is open later Monday-Friday. He also told me that they fill up quickly as parents bring their children to get processed. So, get here before they open, wait in line and hope you get on the list. Also told me where to get the photo taken (they charge $15) and was very pleasant and helpful. David, you f-ing rock! read more

But, this little post office hidden in the rite aid center at Westminster/Goldenwest is a HAPPY post office. The workers are always extreamely friendly. I have been with this post office for over 25 years. I disagree with some of these posts. The postmen are very helpful, but the people in the office really for the most part are not nice. They are just doing a job, and really could use some training in customer service (most government workers could use this training). In the private sector, the customer is always right. Here, even though you are there weekly, they have no idea who you are. After 10 years of using a PO Box there, this year they put the bill in my box late one month, and when I checked the box, it had been 3 weeks later - they told me at the desk my box had been given away. REALLY! after 10 years you couldn't contact me? Wow! I guess I'll just stop paying them for the box and let them deliver for FREE to my house. Yesterday when I dropped off mail from my car window in the two drive up mail boxes by the exit driveway I noticed how sticky the inside of the slot was. Both boxes had a sticky substance on the letter drop and this isn't the first time I have encountered this problem at this location. It appears the first mail put in the slot doesn't drop all the way down and I wonder when it is emptied the mail person notices this and clears the chute? I'm not sure if crooks are doing this on purpose to retrieve mail but both boxes need to be cleaned. A sticky residue remained on my fingers and it was like rubber cement and hard to get off...I would suggest people go inside to drop off their mail....I tried to alert the mail personnel inside by phone but after 30 rings I hung up.....typical government!! read more

Best post office I've ever been to ! Thank you, to whomever decided to implement the take-a-number system. Customers don't have to stand in a cattle line waiting for their turn -- a couple of benches improve matters a lot for when your dogs are tired. The employees are unfailingly cheerful and personable. You can tell their morale is high. LOVE the drive-up mailboxes at the end of the lot. One wish--if only there were a stamp machine in the lobby. read more

I honestly don't know why this post office was rated so high. They're usually over crowded and I had a bad experience for getting my passport done here. They only do passports from 9-2 M-F and the lady working at the time was a b*tch! I was there at 12 and noticed the sign in sheet was missing so I politely asked her about it and she said she had it and that she's not taking in anymore ppl for the day. Ummm ok lady there weren't that many ppl ahead of me, you could have squeezed a couple more ppl in! Big location, it's one of the "Hubs" so it's a processing center for passports and mail services as well as the main location for any undelivered mail or those tan tags they leave in your box because you weren't home to get your parcel/package. Employees are friendly and professional, wait area could be a little bigger, but that's because some of it is taken up by a closed off separated area for passport services. Plenty of PO Boxes here, FYI.. :) Oh, and parking is a royal pain in the ass, but given the fast turnaround for people at the post office, it shouldn't be a real problem either way. :) read more

I would give this post office location a zero. Horrible customer service from manager and counter associates. The only one that was genuinely nice and helpful was the greeter (young Asian guy). I've worked in customer service for many years in all areas from restaurants, retail clothing stores, hospitals, and banking so I understand the stress of rude/irate customers, but I was completely nice and was trying to get an answer and some help. Instead I receives a rude person yelling at me and would not let me speak. I can understand why USPS is going out of business now. I try to use them as much as I can to keep them in business since I have family members who actually work for USPS. I'm not angry at the entire company, that would just be unfair. After being frustrated by the usps website, and no help from the Warner location, I found this location, and I'm thankful that I did. This place is WAY less hectic, their AC is kickin' and the staff is much younger and sharper. Seriously, they need to retire the people at the Warner location and hire a bunch of younger tellers. Watching those old bags work is like watching paint dry, and they don't know how to work the computers / don't have enough command of the English language to navigate the machines. Anyway, I got exactly what I went in for and all of the information I needed without a hitch at this location. If you want to see the public sector at it's very best, use this facility. I've got an appointment for renewing passport for 3 of my teen kids. My 45' min allotment turned our to very unpleasant 2 min. talking with a female Vietnamese speaking staff and 3 minutes with her supervisor. They refused the valid passports as the proof of citizenship, insisted on the citizenship certificates, which is not required by the Department of State. The supervisor told me that she "has been doing passport for 25 years, and passport is NOT a proof for citizenship" and "we are only the agent, if you bring correct document, we will process, unless we don't" [sic]. I emailed the National Passport Information Center and the answer as below: "Any full validity U.S. passport (i.e., military, official or regular passport), in good condition, even if expired, is always evidence of citizenship." I don't think that a supervisor who has 25 years working in USPS may wrongly misinterpreted such simple requirement of US Department of State, so the reason why she refused to renew my kids passport is beyond my imagination. If need to satisfy her requirement, I wouldn't have such money ($1,170 is cost of one certificate of citizenship) means my kids are not able to get their new passports. I saw on the reviews how people have been complaining about exact problem at this USPS for long time, nothing changed! How many victims were like us, and how many will be? That is a painful question for me, and for you too, my fellow US citizens. read more

I am complaining about the delivery service that has happened recently when I have mailed out payments to a creditor and they informed me that they have not received the payment. This has happened twice within the last six months at this location. I do not understand why this is happening when I have trusted this location to mail out my payments. As if taking a 4 month old and 2 year old for new passports wasn't challenging enough, running into some poor customer service in the process (and still not getting the applications done) is enough to send someone over the edge! My wife and I recently came in around 1pm to turn in pre-filled passport applications. Note however, we already left the other Westminster P.O that hasn't been taking passport applications since 2012, despite what it says on the USPS website. The sign at the front entrance clearly states that passport hours run until 1:30pm. Upon arrival, the not so polite lady in the empty passport office informed us that she was done for the day. When asked why, she answered that she already processed 20 applications that day and that was all she can do... Well then... maybe the sign should be changed to 'open until 1:30pm unless we've processed 20 applications already?' She also claimed she hadn't took a break so couldn't take us. Much appreciated customer service when you make a special trip with 2 young children on a Saturday. -Insert government worker joke here- read more

Re: Passport Dave at the counter needs to have a bit of courtesy. A group of passport applicants were in line since 8am for the post office to open at 9am. One gentleman decided to make an informal list so that we didn't all have to bunch up at the door like cattle (or push, or disagree who was first, second, etc.). Well, the postal people snatched that list off at 8:45 saying that it wasn't official. So 9am comes along and a mad flash of 20+ people rush to get in line inside the post office. Luckily the first few knew our order. But approaching the counter, Dave admonished the man who made the list saying that "who are you to do this?! You are not in charge, we are." The man was explaining that he was just trying to make it easier so that all involved didn't have to fight for a place in line. Dave continued to yell (his voice was very loud) saying that he shouldn't and didn't have the authority to put up a sign -in list. The way he went about it was just pure rude and embarrassing. Although I can understand both sides of the issue, it would be great to see our federal employees a bit nicer, a bit courteous and respectful of those they serve. Dave could have easily greeted the man with a "good morning... I see you were trying to help out and be efficient, but we can't go by that list because...." Politely explaining to him why it would be a conflict would be a wonderful way to represent the office and to put a positive spin on the chaotic situation. The lady processing our passport was very nice, courteous, and polite. Thank you. TO GET A PASSPORT PROCESSED AT THIS LOCATION: 1) fill out everything, everything, everything! 2) have all your documents needed, originals. 3) everyone in your party MUST be present to officially sign in 4) be here at 8:30am to wait in line ALL THE ABOVE ARE REQUIRED JUST TO SIGN IN, YES! After you sign in, you will wait and wait (this is the time where people in your party can sit in the car, go for a walk, whatever). If you don't have all of the above (1-3) you will be sent to the back of the line. The processing inside the small room will take about 20 minutes. I came in on Saturday and the "official" sign in sheet was full for the day by 9:18am. Everyone who came in after with all the documentations was turned away -- "full for the day" was the sign at the door. My total time was from 830am- 9:50am. I was the 4th group in line... one in front of me was turned away because something from #1-3 above. FYI: your passport will be mailed to you 4-6 weeks.
