This is absolutely the worst customer experience I have ever encountered. You can not call them, you can not chat with them. My front door was open and the sprinkler system was on. No knock, no door bell but a note that fell in the water saying..Sorry we missed you. The slip was ruined and fell apart in my hand. The tracking number was no longer visible. Who leaves their house with the front door open and the sprinkler system running. A third grader has more common sense. As usual our government is run by a bunch of morons and I dont even know how these idiots can operate. I am now on day 6 trying to resolve this ridiculous circle jerk. A -10 would be rating. The time was 5:32 and get this: as I was taping up the 2 parcels I had to send, Debi turns off the lights & starts to antagonize me for not being ready by now. It's 5:30. I explain there's usually a line & I was basically already done, but anyways Debi, the front desk agent, asked me if I was a reviewer who had left a negative review a months ago. Before letting me really talk about anything, I was being targeted & harassed when 1. Literally there's many bad reviews within the last year that outweigh the pros by a mile. 2. Personally, I don't feel like it's right for Debi to do what she did and how she did it and commanded to take the bad review off. I mean even if she didn't like the review, she's allowed to randomly call out authors of bad reviews? Is this how USPS trains their staff? I DONT EVEN WANT TO SPEAK WITH ANYTHING THERE FROM HOW UNCOMFORTABLE I AM. 0/5 stars. P.s. there's usually a line there and for anyone that's a regular here, it's surprising that I was told there's never lines. Again, the bad reviews here say the same story... these employees are disgruntled and can be very rude without apology. The bad thing about this location is the parking. But one has to expect that since they share the lot with Central Market. One the plus, every-time I have been they have sufficient number of employees at the counter to keep the line moving. They employees have always been helpful and courteous. Bizarre layout at this location! The parking lot doesn't make any sense. Three stop signs within ten feet, and stupidness to get to a mail drop box. Usually long hallway to get to the postal counter, and slow as can be. Do yourself a favor and drive another two miles to the Serna Station post office. read more

To get a reschedule is a totaljoke. I was texted that my package was at their warehouse but they could read the address. There was no tracking number included in the text. In order to get my package rescheduled a tracking number is necessary. How in h---can they expect a customer to get their merchandise if they don't provide the necessary info? All USPS have long lines and you always hear horror stories. However, this location is probably the most pleasant one I've been to. Jackie was great. She sets the bar high for what customer service should be. She was smiling and patient and appeared to enjoy her job. She helped me a great deal with my hair donation package. I wish all of my USPS experiences were like what today was. Another perk to this location is that it is opened until 1pm on Saturdays! read more

As far as post offices go, this one is fairly miserable. They're always understaffed. The lines are terribly loooong. There's an area to get last minute cards, philatelic goods, but it's awfully run down, all the merchandise is dogeared and grubby. I got a package from Iran, and had to pick it up here. The clerk disappeared behind the wall for an inordinate amount of time, while other slack-jawed employees came out to see who was getting mail from Tehran. They huff and puff if you ask to order too many stamps, while they have to go to 'the vault' to get them. I've never had a good experience here. read more

They are the friendliest employees and they may be understaffed. But they never ever answer the phone. It rings for a little over 4 minutes and then you get a busy signal. I surely hope there aren't a bunch of federal employees avoiding picking up the phone, because that would be a crappy thing to do. I am not satisfied with the new Alamo Heights US Post Office even though the location is great since it is close to my home. Some other good things about this post office is that you can: *Buy stamps *Mail a package and a letter *Pick up mail from a post office box I am extremely dissatisfied with this post office because it is not a full service post office for the following reasons: *You have to pick up your packages at a secondary location where the mail for 78209 is located. *Mail is only picked up once a day at 6pm when it has to be transported to the secondary post office that houses all the mail for 78209 then it is transported to the main post office which is another delay. *There is not an outside drive up mail box. *I have always had a long wait in line since there is usually one person at the counter. *There aren't post office machines to buy stamps, or get postage for package or a large envelope; you must wait in a long line for all of your postage needs. I don't understand why a brand new post office for 78209 was built when the services that it offers are extremely limited. Every time I go to the post office, I feel frustrated because I have to wait in line and I find out something else that this post office doesn't offer customers that all other post offices do. 78209 got shortchanged with this new post office and I don't like it one bit. We are stuck with this post office, with its limited services, for the duration. read more

In line at 12:45 and on a typical Saturday and there's 7 people ahead with only 1 agent at the front named Jennifer. At 12:52, she starts to close the gates inside and people begin to be spooked. Then at 12:54, a customer arrives and Jennifer shouts, "SORRY WE'RE CLOSED!" The gentlemen's leaves and the military veteran in front of me checks the time and remarks "he's got 6 minutes left". We begin to share the same fact and start conversing about the poor customer service, to which a customer in line behind gives us their microaggression and starts to tell me why I'm talking about the customer service and to respect them, to which I respond to stay out of our conversation and it takes one to respect one, and I add in I'm only defending the customer's right since they drove and wasted expensive gas to get to the post office before they closing time. The customer with microaggression shuts it and again Jennifer yells at another customer from her desk at 12:58 "SIR WE'RE CLOSED". And clearly she doesn't get it-- she's the opposite of customer service. I told her "thanks for the customer service, you're awesome Jennifer!" however I hope she knows she doesn't deserve to be 5 ft within a customer more less work as a customer representative for the USPS. read more

This is the worst post office I've ever had to go to. Never enough employees working the counter, always crowded, and they're slow and rude. Also they lost my package and I still haven't gotten it. Let me start by saying that I've never wrote a Yelp review. Sure, I've had bad experiences at restaurants but I have never been driven to really complain or write a bad review. Knowing that, please notice the rating I gave this USPS office. I've never had any issues with any employees at the front desk. The last few times I have been there they are nothing but sweet and helpful. The "supervisor", on the other hand, has made me contemplate how the heck USPS still exists. As someone who works a late shift it can be difficult to get to the post office. Whenever I can finally find the time to visit I expect to be able complete my one simple task. The supervisor, Don, has made that dream seemingly impossible. So first, this lady and I are quietly waiting in line to pick up our mail since we've been on vacation. Don, AKA Dream Destroyer, opens up his troll door window and hands the lady next to me her mail. She starts reading through it only to find that Dream Destroyer has given her mail that belongs to someone else, one of which is a package! She turned to Dream Destroyer Don and handed him back the mail, explaining that it wasn't hers. Once Dream Destroyer gets all snappy and closes his troll door, she turned to me and mouthed "What the F***?". After about 10 minutes of frantically deciding if his life is worthwhile, he returned with the proper mail for her. However, he then looked at me and said "I don't have your mail." My heart sunk. This is the second time this severely depressing man has told me this. I politely replied saying, "If you don't have my mail, where is it?" at which Dream Destroyer retorted condescendingly with "I don't know, but I can't give you anything I don't have". I maintained my cool and continued to talk with this douchebag but got absolutely no where. I decided that I would go home and celebrate not hating my life as much as Dream Destroyer Don, even if I didn't get my mail. TLDR; Supervisor gave the lady in front of me the wrong mail and then gives me his catchphrase, "I don't have your mail". Don, I know you may not be the brightest crayon in the box but please quit USPS and find a profession you actually love. It's not right to hate your life/job and bring others down with you. I can't even comprehend how busy and miserable ya'll can get on the holidays, but you could learn a thing or two from YOUR employees and put a smile on your face. read more

I live off of Broadway, and this is the most conveniently located Post Office in Alamo Heights. Unfortunately, that's where the positivity ends. My father is a retired postal worker, and I worked as an administrative assistant for three years during college- I am quite familiar with various post offices around SA, and different services offered. I am also quite aware of the finance issues and budget cuts being faced by the USPS lately. However, I will go out of my way to go to another location to avoid this one, primarily because the service is so incredibly slow. I've been multiple times to send packages before realizing that it wasn't just a "busy time" or someone's break time- the location is understaffed, the employees are incredibly slow, and it's entirely possible that they're unable to help you anyway. Went in today to get stamps. There were three people in line, two at the counters with employees. One of the employees was in the midst of an ongoing argument with the customer that still wasn't resolved when I left 15 minutes later, though I didn't pay attention to what they were discussing. There was a man behind the counter at the mailboxes who continually asked the growing line if anyone was there to pick up mail, and a woman in the lobby by the greeting cards/packing supplies who asked every customer if they wanted to use the kiosk instead of waiting for a live representative. Unfortunately most of the things we needed to do required waiting in line anyway. You would think if they could afford to keep Greeting Card Lady and Mailbox Guard employed, that it would make more sense to keep them behind the counter (or at least train them to do so) and then they can access the mailboxes or answer questions about sale products as needed. Completely flawed, inefficient system. At one point, another employee came to the counter and I began to feel optimistic about the line moving faster, but once they arrived the other employee (the one not arguing) left. Luckily it was my turn, but at that point I just got my stamps and put the envelopes in the drive thru drop box- lord only knows if they would have gotten sent in the hands of the desk staff. I have never left the store in a good mood, and that's doing my best to have a positive attitude. There is always a line and not enough people unless you go straight away when they open. The staff usually aren't in the best mood. I understand the rules, but they are never looking to save me money, only make me spend more on tape, labels, ect. Caprice or whatever her name is, is dry, rude, and passive-aggressive. Jim is alright. Caprice has to go. Each visit to the 78209 location, I have problems with her. She's very unhelpful and lazy. She doesn't take initiative or attempt to anticipate the needs of customers in the store. This is unacceptable. I understand COVID-19 has been a challenge for us all, but regardless, the issues aforementioned can and should be corrected. Furthermore, this location lacks a self-serve kiosk. I only go here when my nearby post office is closed. I don't care for the snippy attitude of the employees. They constantly forget that the overpriced postage we pay is the same money that provides their paychecks. Since I do a lot of shipping with pre-printed labels, I am always told that I can just walk up and leave my packages right on one of the empty counters. I do just that, then I am given a nasty look by an employee. I rely on these guys to help me keep my business going. I appreciate the speed and efficiency of the shipping, but really, I often walk there from IH35 & New Braunfels. To walk about 2 miles one way, just to drop off a package, then to be treated like that??? Seriously??? Just expand the hours at the office on Pierce, and that will relieve a ton of your supposed congestion for the other patrons that are not able to purchase postage online. read more

Alamo Heights Post Office, is crowded most of the times, its the timing people choose to come, like at lunch time, after work. Majority of the employees there are very patient, pleasant and nice. Patience is not some people skill. The line does move to try to get to everyone as fast as they can. Thanks to the employees that make it happen. read more

This post office ignored my "vacation hold mail" request that I had a confirmation number for and delivered it to the address I didn't live at anymore a day before my hold was up, even though the hold was specified for pickup at the post office by the customer. They then promised to have my mail at the post office the next day, at which time they gave me horrible customer service for. I JUST WANT MY CHRISTMAS MAIL AND PACKAGES!!! read more

Slackers: Close early and are slow when open. Today, for example, they advertise open until 1:00. I was running late but there were still a couple minutes to spare. They were already closed. A woman employee said "sorry" and gave me an SOL look. There were still some customers waiting for the counter, apparently still able to get service. I asked if she'd take one more, noting it was still before 1:00. Same response. I left without saying more (other than now I had to go to FedEx) because the Post Office knows where I live and I don't want one of them going postal on me. If they are being paid to service customers who come up to closing time, the Post Office is being snookered. read more

It is now a month later, the store has not received the package (which was to take 9 business days) and according to USPS, after 35 minutes of holding for a specialist, there is nothing they can do to assist me in finding my package. This has to be some of the slowest service I've experienced at a post office. When I arrived, the line wasn't long, but it was to the back of the store by the time I left 20 min later. There were only a few individuals in front of me, but I quickly became aware that they all had issues. If you show up with multiple packages for overseas shipping and neglected to fill out the customs forms, step to the side to finish so the employee can help another customer. Instead, the employee just waited around, and they ended up standing there for another 10 min while she figured out the forms. It's not that complicated (I've sent overseas dozens of times), and if someone isn't prepared, help a customer that is. A woman also had to show up in person to schedule a passport appt because the phone line is always busy. The first employee just shrugged and said call again. Why should she have to if she drove there? Another employee directed her to stand aside and wait while someone in the back got the appointment book. How easy would that have been when she initially came in? read more
