"Hey, cool, is this like one of those immersive restaurants? It's seafood, yeah? Cuz with all these people jammed in here I feel like a fkn sardine." That was the immediate thought I had when we walked in here for dinner on a Friday night, on the recommendation of a dude I sat next to at another restaurant recently. I really liked that restaurant, so surely the guy that's been to both and recommends Nemo must know what he's talking about... *Donald Trump voice* Wrong. I described it as an assault on the senses to my wife. It's loud, jam packed, and feels pretty trashy for lack of a better word. The highlights of the evening were the bread (slightly warm!) and the speed with which our server cleared away the first round of plates and utensils. A masterclass in efficiency, that guy. The food? So, wholly unimpressive. It's like if Applebees tried to do a seafood Asian fusion thing, but Applebees was also having a real off night because all their kitchen staff called in sick at the last minute and they just got some dudes off the street to take over for a bit. And don't even get me started on the drinks. Maybe it's a local thing, I don't know, but a menu touting their mixed drinks as containing "premium blend liquor substitutes" continues to boggle my mind. What's that all about? Anyway, back to the food. As mentioned, the bread with individual serving butters was probably my favorite part of the meal. And there was absolutely nothing special about the bread. Just a decent, warmed, sliced baguette. Since this was our first time here, we ordered things with the little stars next to them on the menu. Hey, they're the signature dishes. Good way to get an idea of the restaurant. Appetizers were scallops and the grilled octopus. The two scallops (at a hefty THIRTY DOLLARS) were slightly undercooked, and completely pale on either end. You'd think they could heat up a pan enough to get any sear on them. Nope. Protip: don't eat the grilled onion that comes with it unless you like these like you like your 1980s Eddie Murphy stand-up specials, cuz that shiz was RAW. As for the octopus dish, the protein itself was decent if nothing special.....but the garbanzo beans it came with were a motley crew of textures, with some being complete mush, while others were hard as actual rocks. The romesco or whatever sauce it came with was grainy and bland. The apples did nothing for the dish. 0/2 so far. For my main I had their miso marinated ribeye, medium. The meat was actually cooked perfectly, but it was under-seasoned while also being bitter as hell from the burnt marinade coating it. It comes with Brussels sprouts (actually quite decent, although the sauce was cloyingly sweet) and French fries. My wife described these as "the burnt crispy ends after the cooks ate all the good fries." Accurate. 0/3. The hits just keep on coming. The Mrs. had their special miso bass. I mean...it's hard to mess up sea bass. Even when it's bad it's good because the fish is just so forgiving. And I've got to say this wasn't particularly good. The fish had the texture of something previously-frozen that was thawed too quickly. Texture reminiscent of really high quality moist paper towels. Truffle risotto tasted nothing of truffle, unsurprisingly. 0/4. For dessert we got a chocolate cake or something, with some sort of flavorless freezer-burned ice cream or lemon sorbet or I don't know what. Cake wasn't too bad. I'm sorry to say we won't be coming back. Seems like their best days are behind them, maybe. I came here hungry and ready to write a nice review, but I just can't. From the food, to the drinks, to the ambiance, the rickety-ass window that divided us from the adjoining that took turns leaning into it and generating a lovely screeching sound, and the lady behind me whose frizzy hair tickled the nape of my neck for 75 minutes because I literally couldn't move any further away in that overfilled place, we just didn't enjoy our experience at all. It wasn't completely horrible, hence the two stars. But, as my wife so eloquently put it: "At least I didn't wash my hair for this." Indeed. read more

We had reservations at the bar for 6 pm. We're seated right away. Our bartender seemed a little distracted but nonetheless waited on us eventually. I ordered a spritz and my husband the saki. We ordered the won tacos and the grouper appetizers. Holy moly! They were both fantastic but the tacos were amazing! Great flavor, a little spicy. For our meals I ordered the tso chicken and my husband the Hawaiian bowl. My chicken was incredible! We ended the evening with the coconut pie which was tasty too! Not too sweet. My parents come here every year while visiting Naples and this was my first time joining them. I wasn't sure what to expect but this is my dads favorite restaurant because of the sea bass entree. Basically the only thing he orders when they come. The starter bread basket and interest accompaniment of slaw/hummus/seaweed salad was good and definitely a unique pairing. They had a customer appreciation special going on that evening which included a glass of wine, appetizer, and entree. I chose a Caesar salad but should have gone with the crunchy grouper bites. They were the best part of this meal! Absolutely delicious and what I'll be ordering (as an entree) next time I come. The sea bass was also really good. I ordered it regular grilled and the fish was super fresh - really wish it came with more vegetables on the side though. Our table of 6 all enjoyed the meals and the service was fantastic. Wowzers! I was told about this place from a family friend for awhile now and I finally got to check it out while in town. Love the quaint dining room that makes you feel like you're in a submarine. It gets a little loud at peak time but you won't even notice when you have your food. I ordered the Nemo's Ultimate Miso Sea Bass and it was probably one of the most flavorful seafood dishes I have ever eaten. The caramelized miso glaze was a treat to my tastebuds. The fish was meaty, fresh, and took on the miso flavor beautifully. It was served on top a bed of truffle-lobster risotto which was creamy, full of large pieces of mushroom, and complimented the fish. It didn't have a strong truffle or lobster flavor, but I don't want to take away from the main star of the show. I loved the touch of the tempura bok choy, had a rather strong oil taste, but was incredibly crispy. I strayed from my usual key lime dessert and opted for the vanilla ice cream topped with sherry and aged balsamic with crunchy slices of grapes. It worked! The flavors combined had a licorice type flavor but it was oh so refreshing! Theo, our server, was incredibly kind, patient, and outstanding. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Naples, FL (in my opinion!) and if you are a seafood lover, I would add this to your list of places to try! read more

Service can make our break a dinning experience. We found this place and had high hopes but truly had a 3 star experience. The food was good but not great. The server was just a grumpy guy which made the experience worse. For $180 before tip we had the octopus and scallop tacos apps, a 15oz carafe of wine, the miso ribeye and lobster pasta. The miso ribeye was the highlight of the night. Cooked perfectly and tasted really good. The spicy scallop tacos were bland but the sourdough bread was on point. It's tight on Tamiami Trail in a strip mall....a little off the beaten tourist path. My friends knew I'm not a fish fan; so we ordered a few apps we could all share. First we had the vegetable tempura, and it was really good! There was a nice variety of different veggies, so we all got to try a few different things. We also ordered the steamed edamame. It was good; but nothing outstanding. It could have maybe used a little seasoning. They do offer some steaks; but with the complimentary bread & 2 appetizers I wasn't in the mood for a big steak; so our server suggested I get a cheeseburger off the kids' menu. I thought that was very nice of the staff and the cheeseburger was actually pretty good. If it was a kids portion; it was for a hefty eater! My friend who had recommended U.S.S. Nemo ordered the sea bass which I now know is their specialty, and what she had been raving about for days! Of course she loved it and my other friend, who also likes seafood, tried it and said it was in fact very tasty. That friend ordered the lobster as her main course and she said it was delicious as well. Even though I'm not a seafood lover, I get that we are in Florida and there are many lovers of fresh seafood. I still was impressed with this place because they had a huge menu with almost every kind of seafood dish imaginable, and the service was spot on. Last week we spent a few days in Naples, FL. and had the opportunity to visit a few of the many good restaurants in the area, but unfortunately have been busy and unable to post til now. While looking for a good seafood restaurant via Google search we ran across many that I would call tourist traps and if you took time to read the reviews this would become very clear. When checking on Yelp found that one restaurants ratings was almost 5 stars and reviews all see to reflect that this was the place we were looking for and decided to call and although they were full we managed to secure a reservation that evening. Arriving at USS NIMO we were greeted by very friendly staff and although full we were seated immediately. Place was very clean and tables were properly distanced from each other and for those smaller tables that were closer to each had clear plastic partition insuring safe covid atmosphere. Our server was friendly and very helpful with our orders. They have a full bar and ample selection of wine and craft beers, but we chose to order specialty martinis that were excellent. We also ordered appetizer and my main coarse the Sea-bass which was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Dessert was a pear bread pudding with ice cream was awesome. This place lived up to it's great reviews and although it may be a bit pricey is well worth the value and would highly recommend. read more

Upon arrival, I was a bit confused by the restaurant being located in a 'strip-mall' plaza. If you can get past that & enter the restaurant, you will see that this is an oddly decorated place with the name of a Navy ship. Nonetheless, the service is great. The restaurant is very small, maybe about 20 tables (excluding outside seating), but the food was heaven. The food, I felt, was a bit overpriced for what they serve...but i ventured here for a birthday dinner and everyone was happy. I would recommend a reservation as it can fill up quickly, but feel free to venture next door (Swan River) if you cannot get seated here. The USS Nemo will forever be engraved in my heart. It has forever ruined seafood for me because nothing will compare to the dishes this restaurant serves. Decided to come here after reading numerous reviews stating that this was the "best seafood I have ever had", and with that comment I concur. This is the most delightful hidden gem in Naples. The ambiance of the restaurant makes you feel like you're in an underwater submarine, how fun and cute. The staff is very polite and attentive. My server was very knowledgeable and provided us with a list of her favorite dishes - which we all ended up ordering. We were quite overwhelmed with the number of seafood dishes to choose from. I've usually only seen half as much at other seafood restaurants.   I really enjoyed the bread that came with hummus, seaweed, and some vegetables - put all the toppings on the bread and that first bite was unforgettable. I wish all restaurants came out with these toppings - that seaweed crunch on the bread was incredible   The Fresh Herbs Grilled Tuna - Delicious, creative and eclectic. Did I mention this was ONE OF FIVE different tuna steak dishes.....I have never seen more than one choice at a restaurant before   Seared Fresh U-8 Jumbo Scallops -  Mouth-watering and melts in your mouth woweee wow wow. These were prepared with no mistakes, the chef knew what he was doing. The pairing with the the oxtail risotto oh my god - AMAZING   Nemo's Ultimate Sea Bass- Saving the best dish for last - get yourself one for dinner and one to go because this is THAT good. This is by far the best seafood dish I have ever had. Everything on that plate complimented eachother more than drunk girls at a bar. The fish was perfectly seared and buttery soft. The lobster truffle risotto was incredible with very very generous chunks of lobster. All I can say about this place is "wow!" Came here on a date night & while the food looked good online, I was not expecting it to be as delicious as it actually was. The meal started with some really, nice soft crusty bread served with hummus and some veggie accoutrements. The hummus was simply fantastic. I was really floored by how good it was. Garlicky, with a strong lemony tang. It was one of the better hummus plates I can remember having. For the appetizer, we split the sampler. It had some spicy fried shrimp, tuna tartare, and some ceviche with pita chips. The shrimp was perfect. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside with a spicy sauce that really worked nicely. The tuna was plenty tasty as well. My only complaint was it had a lot of whole peppercorns that I found myself avoiding or having to spit out. I don't like whole peppercorns on this type of dish because it is too dominating. The ceviche was nice as well, but not particularly noteworthy. My advice would be to get the shrimp & skip the other two. There are a number of really interesting looking apps that I'd love to try on the menu though. For the entree I got the spicy miso sea bass. It was really, really nice. Just the right amount of spiciness, a very savory sauce and a wonderful black risotto. I would definitely get it again. My wife got the tuna Wellington with foie gras and while it was very rich, it was also really really tasty. I would recommend that dish as well. Bottom line is that this is the best restaurant I've been to in Naples so far. The tables are a little close together and the dividers shake when touched which can be a little distracting. The food more than makes up for these minor annoyances though. There are soany good looking things on the menu that I really can't wait to come back. Big thumbs up for this spot! read more

Well we went back for second time only 3 weeks after our first great experience. This time we decided to try the sea bass and we learned a very important lesson. Up til today , all the sea bass we have had previously was good, not great, now that we have the sea bass here to compare to! I've never had sea bass so deliciously flavorful and where it melts in your mouth. It was fantastic and is definitely their must have. Additionally the wait staff was excellent and the host is really amazing. Twice I have had to come in a wheelchair due to two intensive recent surgeries and needed special accommodations for seated. Most places are accommodating, however, the host here is actually gracious and does whatever he can and goes the extra step to make sure the disabled feel extremely welcome and appreciated. I can't recommend this restaurant enough! read more

We started with steamed clams in garlic sauce, the sautéed scallops, and yuzu shrimp which were all delicious Then for starters we got the fish stew, lobster main (on a bed of lobster risotto mind you) and I got the spicy miso bass (Their speciality). We then ended with the pear bread pudding which was nice. Everything was really delicious and I would recommend this spot! It's not cheap, but it's not super fancy either. Definitely our favorite dinner during our trip in Naples this week! We came here after a recommendation from a friend! We split the spicy salmon won ton, pepper and jelly calamari and split the miso sea bass. The sea bass was some of the best fish I've had. Seriously melt in your mouth delicious!!! I was craving seafood during my latest visit to Naples, and all in all this place definitely checked the right boxes. It was good, not great, and unfortunately calling to place a takeout order was a bit of a hassle. I had to call several times following their prompts, but the phone rang and rang until it disconnected. Eventually called and skipped their prompt system and got through. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was pretty dang delicious. A little heavier than I was expecting, and unfortunately just a few large clumps of lobster rather than bites throughout. I liked it, but probably wouldn't order again. I also ordered the hot and crispy grouper bowl (appetizer sized) which was definitely the best part of the meal. The grouper was nicely cooked, and I absolutely loved the sauce. This is definitely something I would reorder, and consider the entre size as well. read more

The Tuna West was disappointing, and while it was perfectly cooked, it was smothered in peppercorns, which detracted from all the other flavors on the dish. There was so much peppercorn that was all I could taste. The service was good, and the ambiance was nice. Sadly, the best part of the meal didn't even cost me anything. Any time we come Naples we visit this place I love the food and ambiance but this time was disappointed how we were rushed to leave . Our reservation was for 5:15 p.m place wasn't as crowded, by the time we finished our meal about little before 6pm got crowded . I was still enjoying my pear martini when hostess (not even our server ) comes out of no where and grabs my drink and puts away , it happen so sudden that I didn't get a chance to understand what just happened. I looked to my husband and in shock ( did she just took my drink which I was still enjoying ? ) It was very upsetting, we spend almost $200 for party of two and I still didn't get chance to finish my Martini . The ambiance is super cute and gives you a Miami-ish vibe of being within a submarine. The food is stellar. The tuna and goat cheese was so yum! My favorite dish is the miso sea bass with truffle risotto literally the best sea bass I've ever had super fresh abs delicious. The calamari is 10/10 and the grouper bites as well. Hands down my fav restaurant in Naples. However the drinks constantly suck, every time I want to give another chance the cocktails are repulsive.
