Go here to try the delicious miso seabass but be aware that we endured: 1. A hostess who offered up no apology after we were seated 25 minutes after our reservation time. 2. In incredibly noisy environment that requires you to lean foward and speak very loudly to communicate with your tablemates. 3. A server named Gabriel who seemed pissy, waited literally 20 minutes after we were seated to take our order, was very difficult to hear/understand, and appears to have brought us a basket of used, torn up, bitten bread after he swept our first unfinished basket of bread off our table without asking. The good news is that he never came back during the meal to ask if we wanted more drinks so we saved some money. 4. "Cocktails" that should be labeled "Mocktails" because the business doesn't have a hard liquor licenses. 5. Florida Clams that tasted like rubber and were served in broken apart shells, perhaps because they never opened during cooking so someone in the kitchen broke them open. Note: Clams don't open when they've gone bad. 6. Crispy Grouper that was balls of burnt breading with very tiny morsels of dried out fish inside. Without dipping sauce and the dressing from the slaw piled on top they would have been inedible, just liked the deep fried chunk of mystery bone that some how made it onto my plate. Classic 2/3 star. Filled to capacity at 6pm. Entree prices of $40 require perfection. We ordered the eastern tuna - nice flavor and sides but the tuna itself wasn't a great cut, just too many white sinewy lines to easily cut through. Kind of a bummer. And my dish was the crispy grouper bowl which was kind of my bad for ordering. It just was too mayonaissey and the fish fry itself was weirdly heavy and vaguely burnt tasting. I really didn't dig it and had no interest in finishing it. The fried fish quality at grouper and chips is way better which is why I blame myself for ordering this. Oh well. My parents come here every time they're vacationing in Naples so we had to check out this recommendation. The craft cocktails are made with fresh squeezed juices, which definitely elevated the cosmo. We were served complimentary fresh bread and a small plate of hummus, slaw, seaweed salad and pickled ginger. I found this combo odd but as I write this review and ponder the mishmash of veggies, I assume the purpose is to introduce the guest to the variety of cultural influences on the menu. Or maybe there's no rhyme or reason to it. Regardless, I could have done without it! For apps, we had the fried calamari, which were crisp and tender. They were also served with a variety of sauces. The tuna tartare with goat cheese was decent, I didn't get much of the goat cheese flavor however and if you order that dish, I suggest to ask for extra crostini as it only comes with one small piece. For main, I personally had the scallops, which were perfectly tender. I wouldn't think to pair them with oxtail risotto but it worked! The meaty risotto is a nice compliment to the delicate scallops. Dessert was creme brûlée, which was delightful, cappuccino and profiteroles. The cappuccino was airy and cut through the sweetness of dessert but the profiteroles were just ok. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant is great as is the service. The variety of influences in preparation and choice of ingredients was a bit confusing for me but perhaps the idea is to have choices to appease all taste buds. read more

This would have been 5 stars had they not glutened me. I guess they think people who ask for gluten free are dieting. Some of us are actually allergic. I'm giving them 4 stars because the food rocked... even though they lied and told me my miso was gluten free. The goat cheese and pear salad was delicious as well. read more

I perviously rated this restaurants solid five stars but it's now a one star restaurant in my opinion. We ordered two entrees both more than $40 each. We also had a carafe of overpriced wine at $33. The problem was with the $14 wedge salad. We asked that it be split. The waiter said there was a split charge. $3.00. Baloney on that! I can well appreciate why a split charge is necessary for an entree. But a salad? Especially when we've already ordered two entrees and wine? My wife said it best. It's not a fancy restaurant. It's in a strip maul on US 41. And it's overpriced. We will never return to this hole. read more

USS Nemo still holds the No 1 slot as my top restaurant in Naples Florida! With the whole covid saga it's been two years since we last dined here and in that period of time I've been tortured with images on Instagram. Needless to say absence makes the heart grow fonder and tonight was the second visit in two weeks. Both visits have delivered so respect to the team. Tonight we were looked after by Janis and Eric. Service was exceptional and Eric's wine choice was superb when the bottle I chose was no longer available. As regards the food, starters may seem odd to some but the Brussel sprouts and the cauliflower are out of this world and worth the trip alone. I had the East Tuna for a main and as anticipated it was an exceptional piece of fish that was magnificently prepared. I'm no food critic, culinary expert or sommelier but I know what I like and with that caveat USS Nemo is right up there with the best of restaurants I've eaten in. So to wrap it up, if you go it will be on the pricey side so accept that and go all in and enjoy. Service is quick so we order starters first and order that mains when we are ready so as not to be rushed. Great to see that standards have been kept over the madness of the past two years so again it's only fair to acknowledge all the team as it takes more than front of house to deliver a consistent quality product. read more

General Tso's Crispy Cauliflower: 5/5 - perfectly crisspy, still toothsome cauliflower inside. sauce is nice but if im being nitpicky, a little too sweet. my personal taste would be to have a little more acid and chili to it. they serve it with a little pickled cucumbers if you need that hit of acid like i did. Food is very good. Grouper app, calamari, drinks, wine selection, miso sea bass, steak, desserts. All 9 out of 10. But the service was lackluster. From the hosts, to server, to runners. There was really zero personality at all. The waiter was a bit zombie-like. And scared to approach. I held menus in my lap for 40 minutes. Strange. The runners (2 women) were robotic. Though I've never imagined a robot wearing a Gucci belt as one was. For $40ish per entree, I do expect a stitch of hospitality, elegance, charisma. Maybe their thing is just about food. Oh well. We had the miso glazed Chilean sea bass and the pan seared halibut. The sea bass was silky and melted in my mouth. The miso glaze was the right amount to enhance the flavor of the fish. It was fantastic. My pan seared halibut was good. The puréed parsnip/potato was a great, smooth combination. The skin of the halibut was not seared well enough because it wasn't crisp. Service was very friendly and prompt. We got our order very fast and was able to enjoy our meal in a quick manner. Overall, the place is very busy because the food is really good. read more

Great dinner experience! Beginning with my appetizer, Alaskan King Crab Legs, delicious! What made it delicious was the way they presented them. It came in a large bowl with the butter at the bottom along with pieces of red bell pepper, which gave the butter a delicious flavor. Next, the Lobster soup, delicious! It had big pieces of lobster in it, which is customary. It gave it a great flavor. For the main course, I tried the Tuna Foie Gras Wellington and again it was delicious! Everything went well together. My husband ordered the Prime Rib and it was cooked perfectly. He also ordered the Lobster Risotto and it was delicious. Of course, I had to have some! I would also like to mention that the ambiance was comfortable. I really enjoyed our dinner. Also, our waitress was great! We will be back soon. read more

Nice place but so cold you have to wear a winter jacket! We had a great scallop appetizer. Good wine & service too. My dinner was not good at all, and it called for broccolini but instead had a hunk of broccoli in it. For some reason they threw in asparagus as well which isn't in the description & was very soggy. I pretty much drive from broward to Naples to go to this restaurant. I would definitely recommend having a reservation. This place is in a small strip mall, so it's a hidden little gem. The first time we went and sat at the bar, and had some of their drinks they make with sake which was so cool! We both had 2 different kinds of fish, and both did not disappoint. I bookmarked this place a few months ago but today found myself wandering the area waiting for my lovely DIL to get a massage. I was really hungry and hit the jackpot when I realized how close I was to Nemo's. Score! It was 1:00 and about half-full (they close from 2-4) although I understand dinner is bustling even off season, like now. I was quickly shown a table and immediately glad I was wearing a sundress instead of my usual shorts and some random tee because diners were pretty smartly dressed and the white tablecloths screamed I AM NOT A DIVE. :D I was charmed by the decor designed to make you feel you are on a ship. My server showed me the specialties on the menu but I stopped listening after seeing Seared Diver Scallops and Shrimp. I placed my order. I liked that my server asked whether I wanted a small basket of bread rather than assuming. And my tip is say, "Yes, please!" to a basket of warm sourdough bread slices with a crisp crust and lots of airy holes for the butter to melt into. I also had a glass (fine, TWO glasses, I'm on vacation!) of the house Chardonnay which was buttery and delicious. Then my plate arrived. This is by far the prettiest plate of food I have ever been served in Naples. The chef is a real artist. My two huge scallops and two large shrimp were nestled every-other on a bed of champagne risotto and sautéed spinach. Three dots of black garlic purée and three of butternut squash as well as some threads of micro greens and a thin, dusted line of powdered black garlic made it a feast for my eyes. And my palate. The seafood was expertly seared, perfectly seasoned, and sitting on scrape-my-plate-scrumptious risotto. The risotto was creamy and toothsome, just as I love it. Adding the black garlic or butternut purée to each bite intensified the layered flavors and elevated the dish. Hats off to staff, they were all attentive and friendly. I'll tell my family about Nemo's because one brother winters here and the other often accompanies me on our monthly visits to see our Mom! We will be back. read more

I cannot explain to you how delicious the food is here. We're in Naples for a few days, and some friends of ours told us we had to stop by - my god, they were right. The pepper jelly calamari was outrageously good. And it was a decent size, enough for two. The Volcano Yellowtail was phenomenal. It was the best fish I had ever eaten...until I took a bite of my girlfriend's Ultimate Miso Seabass. I cannot put into words how incredible that seabass was. Visited here a couple of days ago on a Saturday - was visiting Naples as I tend to do impromptu weekend getaways often living close by in Miami. Selected USS NEMO based on the very high ratings and other's raving reviews. I was originally put off by the fact that the restaurant is located in a shopping center, but decided to try it anyway. The interior of the restaurant is not bad, they did have it designed and not just thrown together. HOWEVER, it looks like that was a long time ago - while the place is well kept, they installed a small 90's tile with large grout lines, and the whole thing makes for the daily grime to accumulate making the smell inside is VERY unpleasant, akin that of your typical low-end American Chains like Red Lobster or Olive Garden, but the ones with the nasty carpet smell. Once you get past that, the place is neither here nor there. Personally, as long as it's clean and the food is great I don't care how a place looks too much - but the smell was strong and very off putting. My real issue were 2 very important ones: first, the bus boy, which didn't seem very bright (you'll see why) wasn't wearing his mask properly (he only covered his mouth, but not his nose) and the restaurant staff was OK with it. It took him 25 minutes to clear the 4 small tables that surrounded ours - this made me very uncomfortable as he was less than a foot away very frequently, and continually disturbing us with his inefficient back and forth (he'd do a trip back to kitchen for each item he picked up, ensuring we were interrupted most of our dining experience). Ironically, the restaurant actually installed plexiglass dividers throughout, yet here was the bus boy potentially gratuitously exposing customers to COVID right at your table. On to issue number 2: food took a minute, but since we ordered their specialty, the Chilean sea bass, and I the 1 1/2 lbs lobster, it seemed fitting. I asked server during order, if it was a 1.5 lbs lobster because they were bringing the hole animal carcass or because it was a very large tail - she responded that they only brought the tail and that it was large - I mean, at $40 for lobster, I did expect a large tail. When food came, I was flabbergasted to see that my dish had a, at best, sub-par sized tail - I'm being generous if i say it was 5 or 6 ounces - what I get at cruise ship dinners, is the same or similar (and I can at least have multiple servings in a cruise ship). Now I was upset at being deceived this way, but still went with it - the dish had a lot of 'junk' vegetables and garnish in it that didn't add anything in terms of appeal or flavor - it looked VERY messy and unappealing. Dish came with a lobster risotto, which ironically, had no lobster in it (you'll see what I mean below), and didn't have an ounce of flavor or salt, plus was cold. When I tried cutting the tail, it was so RUBBERY, that the knife struggled to cut it - i really had to put pressure bc it was like cutting ligaments. If you are seriously overcharging me for a small lobster tail, it must be cooked to perfection and terrifically flavored. Now I was furious, and this is precisely when our waitress took the time to come by for the first time (after food arrived) to check on us. So I let her have it (very appropriately & politely of course) - I additionally asked why they allowed the bus boy to essentially not wear a mask and how would anyone call this a $40 meal? She immediately apologized abd offered me if i wanted to order something else - since i knew what the Sea Bass looked like, I chose to get the same thing as my companion, with the lobster risotto. It took a while (my friend had been done eating for a while), but when I got my food this time it was actually enjoyable. Risotto was still missing salt but at least had plenty of lobster in it (I think they recycled some of the small tail I sent, but that was fine by me). Sea Bass was pretty decent, buttery and soft, but flavor could have been better - it didn't taste bad, it just lacked some flavor. As a comp for all the troubles, they gave us free dessert, and we chose the coconut cream pie based on it being most popular, but I'd said SKIP IT, there's nothing special about it - I'd give it 3 out of 5 - the best part of it were the white chocolate shavings that come as garnish as the flavor was also lacking here; and not very sweet either. To sum up my experience, I'd say, we are still 'FINDING USS NEMO' not worth the cost and not up to par with cleanliness. read more

Great place, real family feel, sort of a low lite mob bar vibe with incedibly delicious seabass, what else could anyone want. This restaurant is in a retail center so no view of the water but pretty famous and best to get reservations though they try to accommodate everyone. We got seated quickly, great service, started with a few glasses of wine and a really nice flight of sake. Perused the menu and decided to try the fried calamari with three super tasty sauces, good start to our food adventure. We all ordered seabass, two of the standard miso and one spicy over a really nice dark risotto, as previously reviewed this is a wonderfully tasty and perfectly cooked dish, no complaints, table got quite and we just chowed and savoired. Finished with the chocolate decadence desert, perfect ending to a true culinary treat. read more
