Terrible. I called before arriving asking how much it would be to remove dip nails and they said $10 so I figured it was a fair price! I went and the male that was removing them seemed nice but unfortunately did not know what he was doing. Very rough. I have a reference photo of how they left my nails when I left, didn't even bother to smooth them out or anything with a buffer file. Upon checking out he charges me $15 and I tell him that whoever I spoke to on the phone told me it was $10. Then I was told that the extra $5 is because I kept my nails long but if I were to cut them they would've charged me $10 which makes no sense whatsoever! It's only a $5 difference the money didn't matter to me it's the principles! Why say over the phone it would be $10 and then try and charge more just for the heck of it... be aware they may try to over charge you! read more

It was time for our monthly pedicure, and I've been on a mission to find the one, that perfect nail spot I can keep coming back to. After trying a new place each month, I think the search is officially over (yay!) I called Utopia Nails on a Saturday morning to see if they could squeeze in two pedicures for the same day. Lucky for us, they had availability at noon. The shop is tucked in the back corner of a semibusy shopping center, but parking was no problem, and the exterior looked real nice. Walking in, the space felt open, clean, and inviting. It's well decorated and has a relaxing atmosphere. Nail stations are set up in the front, and there's a spacious pedicure area toward the back with plenty of seating. The massage chairs were comfy, but honestly, the experience was what really won me over. Mi (sorry if spelling is wrong) was the nail tech who did my pedicure, and she was incredible. Sweet, professional, and clearly skilled. She gave me one of the best massages I've ever had at a salon, took care of an annoying ingrown toenail, and left my toes looking flawless. We chose the Signature Pedicure and it was absolutely worth every penny. Warm stone massage, wax bath, full treatment. it felt luxe from start to finish. Jason was amazing been searching for a great nail tech for A while now. For the past 3 months I've tried 3 different nail salons. You know you have to give them a few go arounds to see what they're really about. And man was I lucky to find this gem. By sheer luck I was waiting around for a doctors appointment across the street when my last nail tech had contacted me to cancel my appointment on a Friday just past noon and man was I stressed. I was leaving to go out of town that evening and only had a very small window to get my nails done. A full set mind you with an old set removal. And after calling 4 salons and driving to 2 others within a 6 mile radius did I get ahold of Jason. Who happened to be available at that very moment and I was only a few mins away and boy was I lucky. Because the whole time I was there (2hrs) did they have a non stop flow of customers calling and coming in. Lady's know their nails and you can tell they have a satisfied customer base. I let Jason know I had an appointment I had to be at , at a certain time and he took great care of me and I made it out of there with time to spare. He was excellent 10 out of 10. Removed my old set with 0 pain and was very accommodating the entire time. You can tell he cares about his clients and loves what he does. And he found a loyal returning customer because of it. I've been searching for a place like this for a while and I'm so glad I found it. Jason was Amazing! I couldn't get an earlier appt with my regular nail tech so I decided to give Jason a try based on the Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. Jason gave me a fresh dip,repaired nails on both thumbs and gave me a butterfly design on both ring fingers. Did I mention he freehanded the design, no stencil. His nail filling is on point. The dip was a thin overlay, just how I like it, so my nails look natural. He cut my cuticles before dipping, which I Love! I've been in Panama 1 week already and my nails still look fresh. Ashley did my pedicure, I think that was her name, and it was the cleanest paint job I've ever had. I also have psoriasis on the bottom of my feet and she did a great job scrubbing of the dead skin. If you suffer with psoriasis, you know exactly what I'm talking about. The paraffin wax was a must and her foot & calf massage was on point. I will DEFINITELY be back. After 7 years of loyalty to a nail salon in Folsom (including a 30 min drive each way) I finally decided to try another place closer to home, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't try Utopia Nail Spa sooner! It's a busy salon with a lot of staff, so appointment times are honored even with a full house. I'm a pretty basic gel mani + gel pedi girlie, so I can't speak to the fancy acrylics or nail art, but overall I have left satisfied after every visit. I recently moved 90 miles north to Chico, so I'm in the process of finding a new nail salon locally, but I keep thinking about Utopia. When you find a good one, it's hard to replace. I'm not sure if it's because I got there first thing in the morning so the gentleman who did my pedicure had the time to really own his craft, but I am impressed. I believe I caught his name as Chris. First of all, I feel like men do the best job with nails. I've not ever met a man who disappointed me in this area. Secondly, he was the kindest, most attentive and amazing conversationalist. We talked about a lot of really interesting and semi-serious stuff. He was such a delight. He really paid special attention to what he was doing and was always so polite. Honestly he was a ray of sunshine. As other employees walked in for the morning they were so polite and said good morning. This place really is a little gem and it's because it's kind of tucked away, I hope it stays a gem forever. Last year I got my nails done here with a friend for the first time. They were fine. Thursday I got my nails done here again (gel) and by Monday one of the nails was lifting and by Tuesday it had completely peeled off. Three stars as the staff here are all very friendly. I had my daughters with me when I got my nails done and my four-year-old had a bit of a meltdown.
