V Modern is absolutely the place to go if you are looking to celebrate something or just have a great night with great food. This place has fun music, upbeat vibes, and great drinks. Brandon was an excellent waiter and the food runners were quick with food and drinks. I saw complaints in reviews about the music volume and I didn't find it too loud at all. Good for groups or date nights, I went for my birthday and they gave me ice cream on dry ice for that Smokey effect with a candle, but not the embarrassment of singing staff. Vegetarian friendly

V Modern Italian strikes that rare balance of being both stylish and inviting. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a stunning bar area, an energetic atmosphere, and a vibe that immediately sets the tone for a great evening. We kicked things off with cocktails, and what a start it was! Between our group, we tried the Roman Mule, New Fashioned, Garden Party, and Going Coastal. Some definitely stood out more than others, but overall, the cocktail program was impressive and a fantastic way to begin the night. For appetizers, we ordered the Black Truffle Pizza and the Tutti Antipasti Tower. The best compliment I can give? Neither lasted long enough for a picture! Both were decadent, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The truffle pizza was indulgent without being overwhelming, while the antipasti tower offered a beautiful variety of bites that made it perfect for sharing. For entrées, V Modern Italian continued to impress. The Branzino was outstanding--perfectly cooked with a generous portion size and packed with flavor. The Pork Chop with Roasted Peaches was another standout, balancing savory and sweet beautifully while remaining juicy and expertly prepared. The Barolo Braised Short Rib was equally memorable. Tender, rich, and comforting, it paired wonderfully with the Rosemary Potatoes, which were worth savoring right down to the last bite. To finish the evening, we shared the Tiramisu, and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Light, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a classic Italian dessert. One thing to keep in mind when planning your visit: around 7:30 PM, a DJ started playing music, and the atmosphere shifted. The volume increased significantly, and the bar became much more crowded and energetic. If you're looking for a quieter dining experience where conversation flows easily, consider making an earlier reservation. If you enjoy a livelier scene with great drinks, upbeat music, and a bustling atmosphere, a later reservation may be exactly what you're looking for. Either way, V Modern Italian delivers where it matters most--excellent food, creative cocktails, and an atmosphere that makes for a memorable night out. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a fantastic meal, this is a spot you'll want to experience for yourself

Pricey but worth it! Everything was so fresh and delicious. LOVED the ambience, feels like a late night European party. Our waiter sam was very fun, empathetic and kind!

Fun, energetic vibes all around. The interior is absolutely breathtaking. A perfect spot for a girls night out on the weekend with the dj playing. A great selection of drinks which included mocktails. The oysters to start, very delicious. The staff were friendly.

I waffle on 4 stars. Yes, this place is gorgeous. Yes, most of the dishes we had were delicious. Our server, Samet, went above and beyond! But, you can see the staff is struggling with understanding some orders, and fully perplexed while explaining to customers that they do not have what is on the menu. This spot is LOUD. Very loud music which causes the customers and staff to talk louder, making a pricey, upscale spot feel more like a sports bar. I hope this becomes the high end gem it could be. It's a quieter part of town, parking with validation. Several good spots within walking distance if you like a pre dinner cocktail moment. A work in progress...

Went to V Modern Italian the other night and it's definitely more of an experience than just dinner. The vibe is the main draw. Dim lighting, huge chandeliers, music going all night. Feels more like a Miami or NYC spot than Charleston, so not somewhere you go for a quiet meal. Food was really solid. Burrata was great and the bread hit. Pizza was the standout for me, super crispy with a little heat and one of those where you just keep going back for another slice. Drinks were strong and felt like part of the experience too. Service was probably the only thing that doesn't make this 5 stars. We had a 5:45 dinner and left at 8:45 because it took a while

We got to experience Charleston's newest hot spot restaurant and we had an amazing time. V Modern Italian was a total vibe and full of people enjoying a Friday night dinner, DJ included. The space is huge, with plenty of space for large parties. The decor was super stylish and done in great taste. Service was super on it and made sure we got our food fast (we had a show to get too) so he made sure dishes were coming out in a timely manner. We also got to meet the general manager who was so nice and welcoming. The food was so tasty, we ordered the Tutti antipasti tower, which had amazing breads and burrata cheese. For the salad we went with the cesar and for dinner we ordered the Black Truffle Pipette, which came with Portabella mushrooms in a creamy black truffle sauce and the Salmon which came with a crusty panko crust and Mediterranean herbs - yum! Our dessert was super delicious, but they looked and tasted a little similar so I would maybe switch one and get their gelato. This is a different type of restaurant for Charleston, I can see lots of fun moments being made here, make sure you give them a shot!

A contemporary Italian Restaurant. Origin in Europe~ thanks to Michelin starred chef Stefano Ciotti...Italian Classics, housemade pasta, handcrafted, pizza, interesting dishes, vibrant cocktail program. The modern Italian is housed in the former the Select restaurant. Lively atmosphere sophisticated environment. Dinner only ~ the restaurant opens at 4 PM. Jack, our server was very attentive and kept an eye on us. The service was friendly and efficient. We took the meatballs and bread home and it was packaged for us in a great looking insulated carry out tote. Nice touch!

Vibrant, stunning decor, loud, and fun! The interior seating has so many options, and our 4 top enjoyed a table under one of the trees. Our server was friendly but was distracted at times with his other tables. We went all out with our friends and enjoyed cocktails, a starter, and each of us ordered a pasta entree. We had a fun night enjoying all our different entrees, and ended the night with desserts to share. As a new place, there were some challenges with execution and running out of food even though we had an early reservation. But this is definately a scene and lively vibe, and good food.

Mixed feelings on this review so bare with me on the ups and downs. Walking into the restaurant I was very impressed with the decor. It was absolutely beautiful. It did take us a while to figure out what door to enter in. So it would be nice to have a sign printed on the glass of the door that says the name of the restaurant. We came here for our anniversary and expected a very special night. Since we did indicate that on a reservation, I was expecting a little bit more private table and not in the middle of several other tables on the booth bench. We did walk by several other table options that would have been suitable. I guess I should have indicated that in our reservation;but, I did not know the layout of the restaurant in order to determine a good table for us to have dinner. I was also trying to be a good guest and not complain about the table that was given to us. On hindsight, I probably should have said something to the host attendee. Our server, Justin, was amazing! He was very friendly, not overly attentive, and a joy to converse with. The first thing I notice as we were waiting on our cocktails, is that the music in the restaurant was very loud and it sounded like we were just listening to the top 40 on the radio. It was not impressive and it kind of ruined the atmosphere of the restaurant. I believe a different type of music would be more appropriate... instrumental, perhaps. And then turn it down as it supposed to be in the background, not centerstage.. Because the music was so loud, everybody in the restaurant had to talk louder in order to be heard, thus the volume in total made it difficult to talk and enjoy our dining experience. Cocktails..I got the Going Coastal with Lunazul Blanco Tequila, Italicus, Hibiscus Strawberry syrup, Lime juice, Mezcal float. Yummy! My husband got the Dolce Vita..Pineapple, agave, lime juice, almond, orange flower and Gin. It was also very good. We got the Scampi Di V for our appetizer. It was good, but they left the tails on the shrimp. Its easier to eat with them off. The serving size was enough for 2 people. For dinner, my husband got the Barolo Braised short rib that came with a side of roasted potatoes topped with freshly grated parmesan cheese. It was really nice and tender and had a good flavor; however, we had a better short rib at the Select restaurant that previously occupied this restaurant space. Per the recommendation of our server, Justin, I got the branzino. Loved it! The fish was cooked to perfection with the crispy skin and topped with capers and kalamata olives. I don't even like kalamata olives; but, they were definitely needed to cut the richness of the fish and sauce. For dessert, another recommendation from our server, we got the tiramisu. It was very good, but slightly sweeter than I expected. Like I said, our server, Justin was amazing. So recommendations to the restaurant.. Too many tables along the booth bench. We couldn't have a private conversation without both tables on either side of us knowing everything we're talking about that's if they could hear us over the music. Second, the pacing in between our dishes should have been a little bit more spaced out. We just finished our appetizer and then the dinner came out. And then shortly after that, our dessert came out. So slow up the pace. I don't like being rushed when I'm paying high dollar for food and service. Hopefully with a few little tweaks, this restaurant will be much better in the future.

We were invited for family and friends night, and first bite in, we knew this one was special. Top-notch service, incredible flavors, and an atmosphere that's truly a whole vibe. It instantly landed in our top 3, Italian restaurants, and that says a lot. I would recommend going earlier in the evening if possible since it does get crowded. Loved the atmosphere with the live DJ and towel twirling. We also can't stop talking about the Scampi di V.

I came to V Modern Italian with friends. We were seated at a booth overlooking the bar. The decor was very cool: they have stunning chandeliers, botanical greenery, a climate-controlled wine wall, and very cool Roman-themed murals. Most surprising to me was the music: I thought it was a hip Pandora playlist, but there was actually a live DJ in the front corner of the restaurant (which explains why it was so good!) However, I would suggest sitting further into the restaurant though, as chatting with friends required loud voices due to our proximity to the DJ. In terms of food, the antipasti tower was great. While the bread is not a true crostini, it was still absolutely delicious and perfect for sharing and building your own bruschetta. For my cocktail, I got the Hugo Spritz with St. Germain. It tasted like an elevated/more refreshing glass of champagne. My friends also ordered the Roman Mule and the Going Coastal, which both met their approval. For mains, I got the Vodka Rosa, which was DELICIOUS--highly recommend! We also split an arugula salad, meat-lovers pizza, Margherita pizza, and another friend ordered the peach salad with a 4oz added piece of salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were so full, we sadly couldn't fit in dessert. At one point during dinner, a server may have incorrectly overheard our reviews of the food (for some reason he thought we didn't like it) and rushed over to make it better and brought us the most delicious cesar salad dressing! You can really taste the anchovy in there! It just shows how attentive they are and how much they actually care about their customers! Our bill, attached to this review, was $304.70 without tax and tip: HOWEVER, there is a way to save $$$! (MAY ONLY BE AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME!) For savings: go to the website for V Modern Italian and click on the pop-up to the side (may have to scroll) offering $50 off your bill. It will then prompt you to download the InKind app, plug in your info, and BOOM! If you pay using the app and your bill is over $150, you can apply the $50 off. You can even split the bill on the app--that's what we did. When we split our bill, each party had a bill of $150, so technically we collectively saved $100. Not bad for a great night of awesome Italian food!

The service and food are amazing. The restaurant and decor have a great vibe. I highly recommend sitting in the booth in the back quiet and great sharing table.

I wanted a canned wine, husband wanted a canned beer and teen wanted her usual: a sprite. This small local shop gave us more than we bargained for and more. When you walk in the store design is clean, spacious and everything is laid out in an easy-to-find way. The refrigerators are stocked with many fun and interesting wines and beers, not your typical options. The sales associate was stocking wine when I walked in, but got off the ladder to come talk to me. She told me about the history of the store and how they source a lot of the local beverage offerings. She took the time to listen to what each member of my family liked to help me choose three options that would work for us - even a non-alcoholic option for my teenager. Everybody wins. I highly recommend this place!
