We came here over the weekend to grab dinner. When we arrived, we were seated in a booth on the Julep side. This is my favorite part of this location. The atmosphere, the decor, the backlit bar, it's all beautiful! We decided to start with drinks. My husband got a beer and I got a lemon drop martini. Both came out quickly and the lemon drop was made to perfection. Then we decided to order. We started with a large ceasar salad to split between my husband and I. We then ordered our meal. I attended the Pizza Contest featuring 5 V Pizza Chefs and 5 from other venues throughout Jax. Wow what an event! The ticket got you 20 slices of the chefs creations. Yep 20 slices of Pizza all to benefit V for Victory Foundation. There was music, a dunk tank and another by in contest for wing eating. If you have ever had V Pizza wings then you know! The 1st round of 10 chefs was their own creation 2nd round the pizza they created with 10 minute notice must incorporate PICKLES! I've been visiting V Pizza for a few years each time I visit Jax. I've been to a few locations and this location is great. They have a private lot, unlike the beach location. We were greeted when we arrived and since the kiosk was not working properly someone at the counter took our order. I've tried a few of their pizzas. The Flyin' Hawaiian is my all time favorite, but the picante is great as well. My son always gets a pepperoni which he loves. The Cryn' Hawaiian wings are absolutely amazing. I love that they have coke products so this always makes me happier. The lunch specials are a great deal. Definitely worth a visit for lunch. One thing that really sets this location apart is they offer pizza dough to so you can play/eat it (if so inclined) while you wait. My son loves playing with the dough. I know last year they changed the pizza dough to make it a little heartier, but personally I liked the original dough a little better. Well, Pete, if hardly anything is salted in the kitchen, you got a helluva mystery to solve. I'm not salt adverse at all, so it wasn't a personal preference thing. A lot of salt was present. Fair enough, haven't tried True Story, but before considering spending $125 on a ticket for a bourbon event, I will research the brand. Tastes vary, but there is a preponderance of poor reviews on the brand. Literally more and worse than I recall seeing for any other new brand. That gives me pause. Hopefully you take the initiative and use this critique to correct potential issues, or you can stay the course and decide this is an isolated incident. Good luck either way. read more

Two ppl at the Gelato station, neither greeted us; but the hostess arrived, said hello and seated us in a back corner booth. Definitely not busy inside ... perhaps most were in the bar or simply awaiting take-away orders. Eventually our server arrived - Lauren ... I am thinking perhaps being a server isn't a good career choice for her ... our first contact was an apology that it had been a long night and she was tired ... it was 6PM, but ok. She couldn't answer any of our questions; but after we finally looked up answers on the website & gave her an order - she had to come back - apologies again, she gave us wrong information on specials - what else would we like (umm, ok). Food runner tried to deliver to the wrong table ... attempted to get her attention, but she walked off with our plates. Our server intercepted her finally and brought food over to our table. We went specifically on a Monday night for the "burger" night -- and while the OG and the All-American tasted good; it wasn't great! Worth $17.50 each - probably not. The potato skins were cold (could have been all the handling?!) not even close to warm, no mustard available and ketchup arrived at the table after asking twice and burger was half eaten. Finally asked for dessert "to-go" -- took almost another 20 minutes & the check. While waiting ... my husband counted 7 persons - employees - simply standing around talking ... without alcohol sales ... V Pizza might have lost money on this Monday night. Not our first time here, and I am sure we'll return again ... perhaps not on a Monday or for burgers. Overall ambiance and decor was as expected. Understaffed even for a 1/4 full restaurant on a Friday. Food was pretty good albeit slightly overpriced. Drink service was pathetically slow and sporadic even though everyone at table ordered drinks at the same time. Wine pours consistently ran 15-20 minutes. Took forever to finally get the check. Came in on a Friday night for a pizza... they do a swift business here, the parking was packed! Their ordering system needs help, they have a single kiosk and one person manning a register and both were quite busy, so plan on waiting a bit to simply place an order. I tried their Piccante Pizza and it was quite tasty! The crust was slightly under cooked and there was heavy sauce on one side, but no sauce at all on about 3 slices, but the flavors and toppings were excellent and partially made up for those two issues. Service was rushed but fair. Overall, it's an interesting concept with an amazing menu, perhaps have the kitchen slow down a little and pay a little more attention to detail and the product will be great. This was my first time here. It is very impressive. They have a wall of bourbon that's a few stories high and a ladder they use depending on what drink you order. Of course, when I saw there was an espresso martini. I had to order it. It was with a holiday twist of having peppermint! It was very good! I guess I was in the mood to try something new so I also ordered the Mac pizza which was pizza with mac & cheese. After trying to find parking unsuccessfully on a Wednesday night (you can park in the school across the street), my partner and I tried again Monday night around 6:30pm. Parking was easy to find. The restaurant is divided into two sections, one being ordering at the counter and the other side was table service. We decided to try the counter service side. We ordered a veggie pizza and I also got a side Caesar salad. They brought us wings on the house and they were deliciously flavored with the pepper coming through. I had never eaten a chicken wing before and the chicken was so tender. The Caesar salad was tasty. The veggie pizza was good, I wasn't expecting the super thin crust but it was tasty. I didn't get to ask but I think my partner and I would prefer to order a pizza with half meat and half veggie so hopefully we can order that next time. Service was A+++, we will be back! read more

Absolutely my favorite location of V Pizza! It is truly the best! The quality of the food is much better than any other location in the Jacksonville area. This location is really neat inside! It is kinda dark but with lots of wooden decor. It is super cool! The food is amazing! The winds were more well cooked here than any other location. The cryin Hawaiian wings are my absolute favorite! They are sweet and spicy and have a great flavor! The pizza's are like nothing else! The dough is soft, and chewy but not too thick or thin. It is perfect! The cheese is fresh, the toppings are top notch! The pepperoni is great! The flyin' Hawaiian is one of a kind. The picante is my favorite though with pepperoni, sausage and Calabrian Chili which is great! The service is good. I liked when the locations had table service but the going up and ordering is fine. Hubby and I drove down to Ponte Vedra Beach to check this location out and it did not disappoint! The interior is classy features a beautiful bar. The service was top notch. Our server was very helpful. We shared two pizzas: Pizza Piccante - Caution: VERY spicy! I like spicy but this was on another level. The sausage and soppressata were very good. Finally made it to Julep Palm Valley after living in the area for too long. Will say it wasn't our original plan but we were happy we ended up here. We sat at the bar and I will say it's just as nice as I heard it was. Bourbon all the way up to the ceiling. They also had massive TV's to what the game on. Coming to V's I knew I had to have pizza but I had never had the wings and have heard they are amazing. Even read they won best wings in the state. I started off with a bourbon I had not had before since they had such a large selection. We then ordered food. I went with the Pepperoni Rustica and of course had to get the V Signature Wings. Within about 10 minutes maybe even sooner our food came out. I will say it was pretty empty so I'm sure that had something to do with it but who am I to complain about my food coming out quickly. I will say the wings lived up to expectations and then some. They were for sure the best wings I have ever had. I could eat plate and plate of them. The only down side is that they are on the pricy side but again pretty much everything is now a day. Now don't let my love for the wings over shadow the pizza. It's a great Neapolitan pie. Probably the best Neapolitan style in the city. It was also for sure big enough to share. Since bourbon is the drink of choice we got started talking to the bartender about what her favorites were. She mentioned that they had a Julep Old Elk pick that they were selling bottles of so we had to have it. I will say this was one of the best store picks I have ever had. So glad we got the bottle. If you like a barrel proof wheated bourbon this is the pick for you and make sure to get yourself the bottle. A taste of it will not do enough. If you have had V's pizza, you know what you are getting. I don't eat V's very often but I was so pleased with my pizza I at every bite. Service was amazing and anything not right was corrected. Vegetable Pizza - mine, really delicious, I DID NOT SHARE. Pepperoni - my son's favorite, he was in heaven Gluten Free - not made correctly at first, but promptly replaced and then promptly eaten by my daughter. Last minute stopped in here recently on a Sunday night. Pretty steady for a Sunday. Me and the bf decided to try a pizza we normally would not typically order, and we were blown away with how delicious it was. We ordered the Flyin' Hawaiian: The pineapples on the pizza had such an amazing flavor to them. They were out of this world ( that's coming from someone who dislikes pineapples on pizza) I would definitely order this exact pizza again. We also ordered the Calabrian wings. They are always a favorite when we come here. Oven roasted pizza and wings Is the way to go! We requested all drums, V's is happy to honor your request of how you specifically want them. That's a very nice touch. The only reason I'm deducting one star on this review is because of the service. We ordered at the counter, but weren't given instructions on where to fill our cups with drink, or where to snag plates, silverware, etc. (Which is okay because we both have 2 eyes that are capable of looking for a drink machine, and food mise en place) We then spot an empty booth, I rapidly snag it before anyone else does. The table had just been vacated by the last customers, so it had dirty plates, cups, etc - also acceptable because they had just left. We both sat at the empty booth waiting on our wine. Someone brought our wine, dropped it off, and didn't think to grab or bus the table we were sitting at (which we pre bussed ourselves by stacking items and moved them to the side) Long story short, lots of staff were constantly circling the restaurant. When I got up to grab clean plates and silverware for us as the wings arrived, the bf got up and had to ask someone to clean our table so we could eat our food. Someone picked up the dirty plates the previous customers had made, but no full wipe down. We did have a manager ask if everything was ok as we were kindive finishing up and of course we say yes everything is fine, because it was. We weren't angry or displeased. The food was great and we also are very understanding when it comes to eating out, since we both worked in the service industry for a good portion of our early - mid twenties. The service could have been better with how many were on at the time, circling about, but, the food was amazing as usual and that's all we cared about. V's pizza locations in Jax always have a swanky bar attached to their restaurant. I highly recommend checking these out at all of their locations. It's a good time, every time. This specific location had a Really cool loft table above the kitchen ! On a somewhat hidden 2nd floor! Look for this hidden gem and try and snag that table if you can. I was recommended to visit V Pizza by my in-laws who live in St. Augustine. Spoiler alert--they are actually building a gorgeous location about 5 minutes from their house; but, for now we had to visit this Ponte Vedra location. It is a little challenging to find as it is actually off of a street behind a residential neighborhood. Parking is also tight as well because of this, so plan accordingly. But, the vibe is very cool as the restaurant is shaped like a barn, yet looks like a southern style bar on one side and an Italian village restaurant on the other side. One unique aspect is that they will let you order quick service or sit down and get table service--it's up to you. A full menu is served either way. We split a small Hawaiian pizza and a meat Stromboli. I would say go with the Stromboli if you are torn because it takes about 10-15 min longer to come out, but it is excellent. A few areas for improvement: Freestyle machine was tiny and out of multiple options, which was odd as it was not busy at all when we were there. Plates for quick service are to the right of the soda machine. No one told us this, so we ate off of a very hot pizza tray until someone finally pointed us in the direction of a plate when we had like 1 slice left. read more
