I absolutely loved our Christmas Eve service at Poppy's Italiao . Our waiter was extremely respectful and very knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. We've tried this place several times. I'm just not overly impressed. Had the fettuccine Alfredo which was very bland. Topped with under seasoned chicken. Order the garlic bread and it was swimming in so much oil you couldn't eat it. Hubby had the lasagna. Again it really lacked flavor. The ricotta pistachio cake was quite light and refreshing. Went to this location early in a Sunday. They do a early bird special which is great if you drink red wine and plain white. It's a smaller entree soup bread and a glass of wine. I didn't get wine and no reduction is taken and they won't upgrade to another beverage. We tried the boursin bruschetta and it was great I think needed more cheese tho. I had the pasta fagioli soup it was tasty but creamy and lots of beans. A little heavy and not what I'm used to. We had a chicken francese a picatta and a pasta trip. My co-Worker, Brenda told me about this place and it was on my bucket list of places to go. So, I had planned to come here after my visit at Millie's for. Yelp event. Well guess what?! Poppy's was next door to Millie's. Too funny. So, I walked over after the ice cream nachos. The atmosphere is so relaxing. Food was very good. My Server was very attentive. Brenda told me about the "Early Bird Special", so I had that. It was like a lunch portion. It was still a huge amount of great Italian food. I ate about three bites and I was full. Made a reservation for a birthday dinner with our family and it's was a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and the portions were great. The service was wonderful, we were able to take our time and enjoy every course. The ambiance was good but not as fancy as I expected. The burrata board to start was perfect to share along with the chop salad! Ask for some extra blue cheese, it was perfect especially with the onion straws. The fried mozzarella was great, according to the kids it was the best! The surf and turf with lobster and lamb was good but the lamb was a little overcooked and the lobster a little over. The pasta dishes were flavorful but I'm not sure if the pasta is made in house, our server wasn't 100% sure. We had a wonderful night celebrating, we'll definitely return soon! read more

Food was really good. Went there for valentine's day and it did not disappoint. The portion sizes were massive. The bruschetta was very fresh and the calamari was tasty. I had the chicken marsala and my girlfriend had penne vodka with chicken cutlets. The only downside was it was sort of awkwardly quiet in there. Other than that, the vibe was great. This was genuinely the worst Italian food I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. Nothing tasted fresh, nothing was seasoned properly, and whatever sauce they used tasted straight out of a jar that expired sometime last decade. The pasta was overcooked to the point of being mushy, the dish was lukewarm when it arrived, and the flavors were so bland I honestly wondered if salt is banned in the kitchen. Italian food is supposed to be comforting and flavorful -- this was neither. For the price, this was beyond disappointing. I would have been upset even if it were cheap. We had dinner there last night, took my parents who are 90 and 88 years old. When I look back and say that the best thing that was ordered was the garlic bread, it make me shake my head. The Calamari was awful, frozen and tasteless, the Marinara that was served well, the cup was so small you would have needed 4 more cups. I had Chicken Marsala, it says it is prepared with onions and mushrooms, they should have said onion and mushroom because it appeared that I only got one mushroom. LOL. It sort of tasted like Chicken Marsala, the side of linguini in alfredo sauce was utterly tasteless, you couldn't add enough pepper or cheese. The only redeeming aspect was our server was so polite and attentive. If you have an inkling of what good Italian food is, stay home and make it yourself. It doesn't matter how much is put on a plate if it tastes like, well let's just say I will not be going back. I wish it was still Santioni's, that was a much better restaurant. read more
