I had an amazing at Luca Italian Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo, and it was rich, creamy, and perfectly seasoned, the sauce was smooth and flavorful without being too heavy. The Eggplant Parmesan with Spaghetti was just as impressive crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and layered with fresh homemade sauce and melted cheese. What really made the night special was our waitress, JoAnn. She was warm, personable, and attentive without being overbearing. She made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down and checked on us just the right amount to make sure everything was perfect. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Our Red Hat chapter had its February (2026) monthly lunch meeting here! We were greeted and seated at already prepared tables, which was great (I had made a reservation but sometimes establishments do not prepare for our "reserved" arrival!). There were lots of different orders and we also received the complimentary garlic knots--which are huge and delicious! Our waitperson, Joanne (sp), was very efficient and friendly. And, we all enjoy identifying different artifacts in the decor, which revolves around family and Baltic/Mediterranean/Slavic cultures. I had the Mushroom Ravioli (nothing onion!) with Rosé sauce and it was just the right amount and delicious! (See photos for others' choices). I will mention that the Chicken Luca, which I often order, is one the world's best dishes and the lady who ordered it loved it! It had been some time since we went as a group to Luca's but it was as nice as we all remembered! It's convenient to get to and its food is delicious, and its friendliness is a hallmark. LOCAL BUSINESS DEGRADES AND BELITTLES FIRST TIME CUSTOMER. Experience was bad from the start. When I called to place my order the employee didn't even know how much their pizzas were . I asked about garlic knots and the employee told me they were included. I get to the store 15-20 min later and wait a good 10 before anyone acknowledges me. Meanwhile, a man who walked in AFTER me, was asked multiple times if any one has helped him and he needed anything. I get my food and no garlic knots , the employee then explains they're not in fact included , while frustrating, i still want them so I order 3 . The employee gave them to me on the house as it was their fault. I get home and I have two cheese pizzas when I ordered one pepperoni. I call the store and the employee tells me the pepperoni is under the cheese. I take the cheese off one slice from each pizza and no pepperoni. They then hand me over to the owner, who tells me to drive back up to the store so he can see for himself and inspect both pizzas before deciding IF he'll remake it. During the conversation the owner was aggressively belittling me, making degrading remarks such as "well how long have u been in business " and other unprofessional statements. He asked what else could possibly be done if I won't drive back in the rain; I explained that I didn't want to drive back out because of the rain and suggested there were other ways to handle the situation and retain a customer, such as offering a discount or credit toward a future order. As my family does pizza night every Friday and are looking for a local pizza place instead of chain restaurants. His response was, "This is not a charity." then proceeded to disconnect the call. To be clear, I work two jobs. One for the government and one that's my own business. I was not asking for charity but a solution for the services not received that were paid for. The cheese pizza itself was actually good, and with bare minimum customer service, I likely would have returned. However, I can't support a business that promotes itself as locally and family owned while showing so little professionalism, accountability, and respect toward its customers/community. read more

I seldom gush. Get ready for gushing. We ended up here but did not come out looking for Lucas's. However, talk about your perfect circumstance. We decided to take a food adventure day and go somewhere we never went before. We were shopping all morning on an empty stomach and wanted something delicious. Both of us felt like some like Ramen or noodle bar so we found a spot that we've never been to and ventured on our way. When we got to the spot, it was closed not just closed for the afternoon but closed for good. Because we were both ravenous, instead of getting back in our car we just wandered to the nearest place - happened to be Luca's Italian. I've said this before in other reviews, I don't eat Italian. I have an Italian at home who makes the best Italian so I don't really need to go out for Italian! but this restaurant was close and we were hungry - the perfect set up. Let me just say that the ambiance was...unexpected. It was like being in an antique store. It was very dim, and the walls are covered in old tools. It was just unexpected. So truthfully, we were not expecting much but since we passed the point of no return on our hunger, we sat. We started with two garlic knots. I'm glad we didn't get a whole platter of them and just got one for each of us because they were large. I really enjoyed mine. It was fresh and garlicky and soft and hot and just the right bit of crunchy with a perfect amount of garlic. I ordered a Lucas's special calzone and it came to the table very quickly piping hot. I'll start with the fact that I have leftovers and as I'm writing this, I am craving what is in the box! I may have to break into it in order to continue... Suffice it to say it was so good I had to stop this review in order to get more! I could eat a dozen of them but chose to restrain from a second order. I usually get some type of pasta here (always delicious), but tonight I was in one of my rare pizza vibes. By FAR, the absolute BEST PIZZA I have EVER had in Florida. Perfect crust, light and delicious yet firm and crunchy. A wonderful fresh mozzarella cheese covering just the right amount of toppings and baked to perfection edge to edge. A truely authentic quaint Italian restaurant in a very unassuming storefront. We also had the delectibly creamy fettuccine alfredo with grilled chicken which was absolutely divine coupled with an order of delicious garlic knots, hot and steamy, covered in just the right mixture of fresh garlic and butter. Ambiance is really basic, no frills. The service is always terrific! Think we have had everything on the menu at least once, except for the pizza, not tried it. I must say, the portions are excellent, ( seniors would have a nice size doggie bag to take home), the spice flavors are not overwhelming, just good middle of the road and exceptional to pretty much everyone. My rating is for the food..it was very good! A group of 6 of us came here for lunch after a funeral and were in the mood for comfort food. It is a small, not that impressive, little restaurant in a strip mall on Blanding Blvd. in Middleburg. When we entered we weren't exactly greeted but kind of growled at...."how many" then some frowning where we could sit! Once seated the servers seemed to be feeling better and she was attentive (owners daughter). The person who recommended the place kept saying everything was "home made" there. I ordered a small white pizza with garlic snd chicken..very good; even had fresh ricotta on it! It was 6 smallest slice (10"?) for $13. The prior year had some reviews that were absolutely not indicative of how awesome our meal was. We decided to go with the most recent elite review which was positive and mentioned the calzone's and garlic knots! Bottom line! This is a hidden gem serving old style Italian Mwah! We ordered the steak philly calzone and the eggplant Parmesan both were well stuffed topped with mozzarella, enormous and delicious!!! My steak calzone was perfectly cooked with a delicious serving of the marinara on the side to prevent any soggy crust. I had the spinach ravioli with Rose sauce and my husband had the chicken parm dinner. The salad was fresh and crisp. My dinner lacked a bit of flavor but still delicious. The chicken parm was good, but also lacked flavor. We did get fettuccine Alfredo to go. Let's hope my son doesn't complain about the flavor as well. We come here about once every other month. Me and my mother decided to try this place after driving by many times. For the hour we were there the waiter only came twice and that was for food and drinks. No refills or nothing. The waiter also wasn't the nicest but idk what going on behind closed doors so I can't judge. The Pizza and Lasagna took about 30-40 minutes. The pizza was good while it was hot but the lasagna was not. The staff were giving us wierd looks and snooping on what we were doing on my laptop (it was a test) and being very noisy. The place opens at 11:00am and I walked in with another group of people. I ordered first since I sat alone. I'm still waiting on my food and its 11:45 right now. This isn't the first time it's taken so long. So they are officially NOT the place to eat on a lunch break. I am hearing surrounding guests complain about the amount of time it takes to get their food too. Some are asking for them just to box their slices. My other gripes are that they have partially filled salt and pepper shakers on the tables. They don't distribute the crushed red pepper and parmesan cheese to the tables either. They're all sitting on a shelf half filled and the jars are dirty. Well, my lasagna was delivered at 11:51. It's worth the wait if you have that much time. This was unreservedly the worst meal I've ever had. I came by this local spot tonight after years of driving by. I figured it was time I gave it a try. That was a massive mistake on my part. It's a small place with plenty of waitstaff yet somehow it took about 10 minutes of sitting there before someone brought me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. It took probably another 10 for my appetizer and another 30 for my meal. I got calamari and it was disgusting. They were large breaded rings that tasted like 3 day old fish. The calamari was very stringy and somewhat elastic. I took 2 bites and that was it. When my chicken parm finally came it was cut up into little strips. The waitress told me "that's just how we do it here". Based on how the sauce and cheese looked I think it's more likely they cut it up like that to reheat it under the broiler. I also asked about the sauce that tasted like it came from a can. She assured me it is made fresh every day but If that's true then that's sadder than it coming from a can. I took a couple bites but I couldn't eat it. I have never in my life not eaten food I was served at a restaurant but I just couldn't stomach it. The kicker though was the bill. The first time I ate at Luca's I thought it was just okay. The second time I enjoyed it much more. The service was great, and even though I was only one person, and the waitress had 4 or 5 other tables, she still was very attentive to my needs. Regarding the food, I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs lunch special. The main reason I took a star off was due to the fact that it was really just spaghetti and meatball, being that there was only one ball of meat on my plate! plus, it cost $8.95. It did come with a very tasty garlic knot though. Overall, I enjoyed my meal very much. The sauce, which I find to be key to good Italian food, was very good. Not too sweet, not too thin, and had chunks of tomato in it. All in all, I definitely enjoyed Luca's much more the second time around. One thing I would like to mention is that based on yelp reviews, Luca's isn't as good as Joey Mozzarella's restaurant down Blanding, and I have to disagree.
