This place sucks! Bland food. Poorly executed. Sushi was the only acceptable choice. I had to clean my own shrimp before I could eat them. The beverage station was a mess and the ice cream freezer looked unclean, so I didn't risk it. After seeing how filthy the bathroom was, I prayed the kitchens were more sanitary. The wait staff was efficient, but made you feel as if they were not thrilled you were there, and to leave before dinner began in the next 20 minutes. Oh, and the sign on the counter saying "Don't waste food or you will be charged $10.00 extra" did not exactly give you a warm welcome feeling. Never going back. Food is decent, but they need to wash the plates and cups better. Many plates were greasy and had tiny pieces of food. I'm really surprised this place has been around for so long. We came here for lunch knowing buffets aren't usually top quality, but we just wanted to try it out and have a variety of sub par Chinese food, which is what we got. We didn't expect much and jokingly said YOLO, what do we have to lose. We started dishing up and nothing was outstanding which was to be expected. But what I'm really worried about is the fact that most of the food was not hot. It was mostly room temp, so I was terrified right then and there. We made the unfortunate decision to sit next to a guy preparing green beans on the dining table with no gloves or other protection. This person was going back and forth cashiering, handling money, going back to peeling beans. When beans fell on the floor, he picked it up and threw it right back on the table. He wiped his nose once with his hand and went right back to peeling beans without skipping a beat. We were mortified and went from thinking YOLO to YODO. At the end of our meal, I started questioning my decision-making skills. We will never be coming back. Let's give it a few hours and see how we feel. Prayers are appreciated. read more

This is a good and decent buffet place in the Everett area. Selections are great and variety of mostly seafood, crabs, shrimps, mussels and other Asian dishes, sushi selections to variety of chicken dishes. Lots of meat selections and veggies and every staple buffet dish, dessert bar is great as well. Great seating, restrooms are clean and service is efficient. Drink stations are well stacked, plates and utensils are clean and stacked well. Price is fairly reasonable. Ambiance is casual dining. Better than I expected. Price was fair and there were plenty of food choices. It is mainly Chinese food with a bit of sushi rolls. Food was fresh and crispy. A waiter was quick to take away used dishes and other employees were nice too. Place is large so you are not close to other people right next you. I honestly don't know how they still make profit with that amount of food for that price. Also I am quite surprised why this place only have 3 stars, but for us, it was one of the best all-you-can-eat we've been. Cream of the cake is even beverages are free, not like other buffet. Pretty gross. Run down, dirty. Leathery shrimp (usually means it's old or freezer burned or both). Musty smells. The waiting area is totally different/the only good part so when you come in and see that you're like "oh it'll be like the waiting area, can't wait!". But as soon as you pay and get into the buffet area, you realize it is nothing like that. Even the plates are old and junky. Straw dispenser is that kind you have to tap down and one (naked) straw comes out. i.e. the worst way to get a straw. Also it immediately launches the straw to the gross floor. Sushi wasn't labeled but it didn't look good either, I couldn't figure out what they were at all and I eat sushi all the time. "Don't waste food" signs everywhere. I'm guessing because people taste something and realize they've made a mistake. So then you have to choke it down so you don't get dinged with a fee. Which was a mistake on my part, I should've just taken the hit instead of making myself sick. I just wanted to find a nice place to relax, eat, and do some brainstorming on projects. This was impossible. I'm writing this directly afterwards and I am chilling at a cafe (breakfast@tiffani's in Everett), trying to recover, I feel so gross, my Sunday is going to just be me laying weakly on a couch feeling ill. Just a warning that there's bad cell service. Not something they can help but it's nerve wracking to suddenly be cut off. It's a buffet as stated in the name. Obviously self serving. With that being said there is staff that does come and clean the tables very frequently for you and is very friendly. Both times that we've been there, we experienced that. The first time they didn't replace food very often but this time the food was always plentiful and hot. The ice cream area is not great and that is my kids favorite part. Otherwise I probably had given it five stars. Came here since it's close to my house. I will say I thought the food was okay. Not the best that I have had in a buffet but not terrible. I almost wish there were more options based on the size. They also have rules that no one follows. It's popular among family's which is fine except they let kids run rampant inside. I was run into numerous times and they were making a mess of the food. Other than that it was a good experience. You pay before being seated. The venue is really neat and very large. It also made it quieter than a lot of buffets which is nice for talking. I personally think I would go to harbor buffet in Lynnwood before coming back here but it is a good option for a local buffet. read more

Last night we ended up at this buffet located in Everett. I remember many years ago we gone here before and there was more selection, but last night it was like lack of some selection than before. There are a few dishes that I wasn't too excited about. One was I think it was either orange chicken or something else. The reasons not knowing what they are is there wasn't anything that tells you from the serving like some items do. But that orange chicken was too much chewing. Like sucking down on a piece of wood . The mini crabs were No meat in them. There were a few things that are worth eating. The stuff crab shell was good tasting. The beef in broccoli's was good. The steam fish was very smooth and tasty. Probably the best of all the dishes. The sushi were ok . Other stirred fried food was ok as well. For what the price on a weekday was ok, but to me kinda expensive. we've visited this place several times over the paste few years. I always go home with upset stomach (but nothing ill, just the upset stomach). in our last visit, we stopped by around 5pm, it seems like we were in just in time for their first round of dinner. All the trays on buffet bar seems to be filled and clean and nice and ready. However, it seems like they might have food prepared way early, and they did not turn on the heat of the steam table, so the first few plates of food we got were cold (not even warm), so its definitely bad. And for the most part of the food, its overly salted. so basically you are sucking into a lot of food that will take you to the early grave. However, its a BUFFET!! you said.. what am I crying like a baby about??!!! Well... Service here is bad. My sister did my brother in laws funeral lunch here and per agreement on the phone, group discount will apply. Once my sister was paying Terrence he won't honor the phone agreement saying full price applies and no discount will be given. He denied the conversation on the phone and showed other people's receipts saying no one gets discounts. He won't honor his word on the phone and said my sister probably talked with the other guy. Here's the deal....the staff are super nice. They're all smiles and they're like magicians who magically appear to take your plate exactly when you're done. Food wise, The crawfish were surprisingly good for a buffet. Didn't taste frozen or old. And there is a lot of it. The baked trout was moist and yummy too, same with the fried shrimps which were pretty big. The baked salmon was dry. I am not much of a Chinese buffet person so I didn't try the normal offerings like orange chicken, noodles and whatever else. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose from. They had sushi and sashimi too but they didn't look too appetizing. Why the 2 star rating you say? Well.......as I was walking around, I saw a staff spooning food that got spilled on the counter back into its tray. NO NO NO NO NO! This was my first visit. Every prepared food I tried was extremely stale, which included the Indian chicken, Teriyaki chicken, the grilled fish, and the coconut shrimp. Mongolian grill, sushi, and the ice scream were above average. Sushi selection was below average and the ice scream selection was above average. Only recommand eating from these three areas. I also gave a -1 star because they threaten to charge customers $10 for wasting food and I think it was created because of the stale food that cusomters should be rightfully trowing out. The employees had great customer service, this is most likely a mangaement or owner problem; very dissapointing. Maybe hire someone from the Four Seasons Buffet in Mount Vernon to manage the place, they do an amazing job with a similar selection of food. read more

The food was good, fresh, and hot as far as Chinese buffet goes. I'm rating them 3 because they tried to overcharge our group of 27. Lunch is from 11-3:30 for lower price. We got there at 2pm and they charged us more expensive dinner price thinking we wouldn't notice. The party before and after us were charged lunch price. When I asked how this was fair, they said "in case we stayed until 3:30 dinner time." Who stays 1.5 hr at buffet? Really yummy selection of seafood! The roasted oysters, the crispy fried shrimp, the uber fresh sushi made by the sushi chef right on the spot making a huge selection of rolls, and the endless array of classic Chinese food favorites. It was okay here. As much as I love all-you-can-eat places I'd prefer one thats more controlled instead of a free-for-all like this one. I observed too many children sneezing by the food or just eating food right off the buffet. They were either alone or accompanied by another adult who just didnt care. I saw a toddler roaming around the buffet by herself with a snotty nose, disheleved hair and BARE FEET. I just shudder thinking about the adults. Here's a tip: avoid the icecream station. You have to dig out your own icecream from these large containers. Your arm and everyone elses arm will brush against the icecream. Not sanitary at all. As for the food, it was alright. I got anything that was cheesy and fried. The sushi was average. Ive been to many Chinese buffet restaurants in different cities and they all seem to have the same stale, dry, bland pre-made pastries. Would I come back to V Star Buffet again? Maybe next year.
