Thy offered 3 different types of gyros. One of the gyros called the Afghan Gyro was very tempting, and it was served in Afghan bread not the normal pita bread served at other Greek restaurants. An Afghan Gyro is something that I've never tried before, and it even included a Greek salad. In the end though, I went with what I knew: the regular Gyro sandwich. It featured a combination of beef and lamb topped with tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. The original manager knew my family, but he passed the restaurant to another family member (perhaps his brother) and that's when we sort of stopped coming... The new management doesn't have the same... I don't know.... finesse? The new cooks and staff aren't as nice. I got the Koobideh Kabob combo (A-7) here and I was very disappointed with my meal. The meat itself was over seasoned and over cooked, and it was overall the driest kabob I've ever had. The only thing that helped the dryness, was the one small side of potatoes. There are definitely better kabob options in the area that will get your money's worth. When my husband arrived, they were still cooking our food (they literally grill everything to order here -- over a flame!), so they gave him a cup of spicy minestrone-like soup to enjoy while he waited. What a treat! I got the chicken kabob with sides of salad, rice with the carrots and raisins, and the seasoned potatoes. My husband got the salmon kabob and sides of salad, rice with he carrots and raisins, and chickpeas. The flame-grilling makes a difference because you can see bits of yummy char on the outside of the meat, and the meat was still very juicy and tender. Both entrees were delicious! Our food also came with massive pieces of bread with 2 dipping sauces -- one mayo-based and the other jalapeno-based. Good prices, too! My experience was great! Went with some coworkers the other day, and the staff was so pleasant. We had a party of 6, and as soon as we walked in, they offered us all hearty samples of their soup, talked us through the menu, and didn't bat an eye at the fact that we stood there aimlessly for a few minutes while trying to figure out what we wanted. Best kabobs I've had in the area. Today I had the lamb chops. Great charcoal flavor and the spices seared right in. I usually get a combo of lamb or salmon with the shami. Decided to try this place out for lunch. My boyfriend ordered the Palau entree while I ordered the combo kabob (lamb/chicken). My boyfriend went in to pickup our orders and was very pleased was the service. They even gave us a sample of their soup of the day to take home to try (some sort of veggie soup that had a little heat to it). The portions for our orders were very big and was enough for another meal. The Palau entree was very good, lamb was not gamy and it was super tender. It also came with a side of creamy spinach (flavor was a little bland ). The lamb kabob on the other hand was a bit gamy and chewy on some parts but the chicken kabob was super tender and so flavorful. So I definitely would get the chicken kabob again. I came here for 2 reasons. 1) I've been to the brother location in Annandale and absolutely fell in love. Customer service was great and food was delicious. 2) My husband raved about the deliciousness of their food and exceptional service that they had. So I came here to order my food. Several things wrong with this visit. 1) there was no AC. They had 3 big floor fans on the floor and the inside of the restaurant was steaming. No way that I was going to melt and swift away in the fan. 2) the cashier girl didn't know what she was doing. It took her forever on the register to take down my order. And she kept calling who seemed to be the manager of the owner. He was very nice and greeted every single customer that walked in. 3) when I got home, I had 1 chicken curry and 1 lamb curry for my orders. But I asked for 2 chicken curry. It's so hard to go back and try to exchange it out. So yeah hubby dealt with the lamb situation. 4) the kabob was SO DRY! it was THE WORST KABOB I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!
