Not so good anymore, I have bought at least 2 vehicles there in Brooklyn CT. I took my truck for an oil change and received a huge over the top laundry list of things my truck needed, some true, some not. the one that got me was a $1,200.00 tire monitoring system, Service Ast. said, it's not leaking yet but needs to be replaced. My question is what would that electronic item be leaking?" BLINKER FLUID"? upon checking it was a Small Battery in one wheel that needed replacing! See you later guys! Never again! read more

We bought a car There 7 months ago, Since then, it's been in the shop 6 times for consuming 2 qt of oil, every 1000 miles. So we've been out of a car for approximately 5 weeks throughout that time. And they call my girlfriend today and told her they're done with the car and it's no longer their problem for us to deal with it. I put a four-year-old in this car. It's our family car. If you want to keep your family is safe and not broken down on the side of the road. I highly suggest going to another dealership, because these people don't care. Very poor service! Would not go back! I prefer not to use dealers for service. However my vehicle had a recall that needed service.

It's for sure a weird time to be car shopping. On top of that, I have discovered that I have a very difficult time spending $ on something that might be considered "discretionary" or for enjoyment only. Recently, my wife and I decided that we were going to purchase Corvette Convertible; something we have wanted for a very long time. We found one at Vachon Chevrolet, a bit higher priced than I would have hoped. I traded emails with JImmy, and he was able to come down on the price a bit. He wasn't overly pushy, or, like a few other places I have dealt with recently, dismissive. (as I said, it's a weird time to be buying cars--many places were of the attitude "take it or leave it, you're lucky we're even selling to you") I found Jimmy to be straightforward and very easy to work with. Right before forking over the $ I practically broke out in a cold sweat and my palms started sweating. Like I said, I'm typically not a "toy" buying guy; and a Corvette convertible as a 3rd car, is for sure that. After signing all paperwork, I even changed my mind between financing & paying cash. I was somewhat expecting some "oh, we can't do that once all the papers have been signed" or something. Both Jimmy & Jeff, the finance manager, were great. They redrafted all the papers without batting an eye and were very understanding. The car was delivered on time, clean and in good shape, all paperwork needed for me to register the car in MA was supplied to me, and I had no issues. So far, after a couple of weeks, the car has been great. I'm still waiting for a promised front license plate bracket (oddly enough, c7 Corvettes have no where to attach the plate on front, I still have one tie wrapped on) but am confident Jimmy will send as promised. All in all, I was very happy with my experience with Jimmy, Jeff, & Vachon Chevrolet. I'd highly recommend them, and for sure look there myself next time I'm ready to buy. read more

Very poor customer service. Bought four tires and was offered rewards but was told by Dakota that the dealership would take care of the necessary paperwork to receive them. Of course they did not and when I brought this to them, they had me call customer care who referred back to them. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Vachon employees when in August of last year my air conditioning and drivers window decided they didn't want to work anymore. The service writer had the "mechanics" look at it and they diagnosed a bad condenser and window regulator. I disputed the window regulator because the error code was a "communication error".. but they assured me it was the regulator. Couple days later the window quit. I took it back and the lady stated she would have to charge a diagnostic fee again. I told her no way. I asked about the communication error and her reply was "well it worked for a couple days right"? Then she stated "I don't know if you noticed but it will work if you open the door".. yup, sounds like a door cable. In December I take it back and now I speak with a man named Kevin. Super nice guy, said he would speak to GM for me because now the OnStar antenna is not working. He asked for me to give him a couple days. Long story short, I kept calling and they kept telling me Kevin was not in. On the fourth call I finally asked if Kevin still worked there.. "yes Kevin still works here" was the woman's reply. I waited another month and went down. The man at the service desk tells me Kevin no longer works there.. so I told him what they had been telling me and he just shrugged. So I replied that all along people were lying to me. I asked him if that is really how they do business. He stated he was sorry and I told him they will never have my business again. I filed a bad review with GM. After a month or more they contacted me. I explained the entire thing to which she replied "all dealerships are privately owned, you will have to take it up with them". Ummmm ok, thanks for absolutely NOTHING. I will be trading in my 2014 Chevy Silverado LTZ at a Honda dealer. Good bye GM, good riddance Vachon.. you people owe your customers honest work at an honest price. Nothing less. Any less and you don't deserve to be in business. You lost a customer that has bought many vehicles from that dealership since 1998. Markley must be sad this is what his dealership ended up as. Anyone at Honda want to give me a quote on a new truck? Trade in the 2014 Silverado 1500 LTZ? I am done with GM.. what a disgrace they have become. read more

A glow plug for my truck prompted a check engine light. I scheduled service to have it looked at with Vachon as this was where I purchased the truck. Unknown to me was the emission warranty which the glow plugs fall under, had expired 5000 miles prior. I had called service and spoke with Meaghan who told me that Vachon would replace the plug at cost. This alone was a pleasant surprise and gave me trust in this dealership. Later that evening I went to pick up the truck after service had closed. Sales was holding my paperwork and key. When handed the key and papers I found a sticky note from service (Meaghan) stating that she was able to work with GM more on the issue and had the entire cost covered. I was extremely happy and very surprised as no other dealership had ever worked for me like Vachon and their service did. They completely gained my trust and I am grateful and appreciative of their efforts to go the extra mile. I highly recommend this dealership as I was guided towards them when originally looking for a truck. A friend had mentioned that this was a very good dealership. Well, they absolutely proved that to me! Wonderful experience! read more

I purchased a new Silverado from Vachon Chevrolet in March of 2020. Within the first week, there were two main safety issues that needed to be addressed. The first issue was that the infotainment system would intermittently reset while driving, losing any functionality. The second safety issue was the infotainment system would play uncontrollably, even when the keys were out of the ignition and the truck was off. I also noticed that there was paint chipped on the truck also. I called right away to address the issues and was assured the issues were no big deal and could be fixed. From March of 2020 to October of 2020, I brought the truck in to be fixed 6 times with multiple incidents of the service manager, Matt, or the salesman, Jake, not returning my calls for a few weeks to a month multiple times. Once, when I brought the truck in to be fixed, the service manager, Matt, just shrugged his shoulders at me and told me that there was nothing they could do to help me. The service manager became so incompetent that I had to escalate the situation to General Manager, Stu, who was also of no help to me and stopped returning my calls. During this time, I was told over and over that the truck was working as intended and that my phone was the issue, even though they acknowledged in the repair orders that issues with the infotainment system took place without the phone connected via USB or Bluetooth in use or with another phone. After coming to the realization that Vachon would not honor the warranty and were hoping that I would just go away, I decided to contact the Better Business Bureau and pursue the CT Lemon Law for a replacement of a new vehicle. Vachon continued to be of no assistance during this process and made me feel like they were going out of their way to make this process difficult for me. For example, on the day of the final repair order performed by GM, I was assured Vachon would have a rental car for me so that I could make it to work on time. When I arrived for the appointment, the service manager, Matt, told me that there was no rental available and walked away, leaving me stranded at the dealership. I had to call someone to get a ride to work, making us both late. To make the situation more frustrating, when Vachon returned my vehicle to me, they left it with so little gas that the gas light was on. During the process of pursuing the Lemon Law, I learned that as early as March of 2019, the NHTSA had put out safety bulletins about the exact issues I was having with the infotainment system, yet Vachon remained dishonest and said the issue was my phone, giving me the run around for close to a year. Currently, there is a class action lawsuit out of Florida for this exact problem with the 7 inch infotainment system in GM products. "Boddison vs GM LLC". Vachon Chevrolet was terrible throughout this entire process, constantly providing obstacles and providing terrible customer service. This poor customer service occurred in all aspects of Vachon, from the service manager, Matt, who would default to a passive aggressive attitude, or Jake, the salesman, who would not return my calls, all the way up to the General Manager, Stu, who also didn't return my calls or attempt to make the situation right. In the end, I was able to pursue the CT Lemon Law and was offered a replacement vehicle by GM. During the replacement process, I had to contact Jake at Vachon for a few invoices. His response to understanding what I had to go through for this was, "I am sorry for everything that you had to do. Can I help you into a new vehicle?" Even then, it was clear he didn't care about what happened... he just saw me as another opportunity to make money. I believe in buying local and will continue to support this corner of Connecticut, but Vachon has lost my business for any future vehicle I may pursue. I write this lengthy review to caution anyone else looking to make an investment like I did that there are better options in this area to support local, such as Cargill Chevrolet in Putnam, whom were great and supportive in getting me the replacement vehicle I was looking for. read more

I bought a 2010 Chevy Avalanche from Vachon Chevrolet (Brooklyn CT) in early April. To view the vehicle, I had to drive over 100 miles each way.  I made my plans on Thursday, but my salesman was off Friday, so I opted for Saturday morning visit. On Thursday, I was told the vehicle was up on the lift getting worked over.  However, when I arrived on Saturday,  it was obvious that the vehicle had not even been touched by service.   I could tell enough from the test drive that the car was in good shape, though I wanted, and they agreed, to make a few small repairs.  I had noticed bad brakes which I felt was due to warped rotors or other, and when stopping, I heard minor grinding.  Jimmy Silveira, said they'd inspect and repair anything needed.  They did replace the pads, but did nothing to the rotors (pads are cheap, rotors are more work. I have ordered new front rotors that are, and were, faulty when Vachon closed on the vehicle).  There was another small problem with the tire pressure sensors. At least one sensor was bad. I requested that if they didn't replace all sensors, to tell me which sensor they replaced so that I would not have to replace that sensor when another went bad at a later date. One should always replace all sensors when one goes bad as the others are close behind; the greatest expense is the service charge for re-setting the computer. I do not know if even one sensor was replaced and Jimmy never spoke to service and never answer my question. I had already signed papers, so I couldn't do anything.  My biggest complaint with Vachon is how they concealed a major flaw in the interior of the vehicle.  When I got back home with my Avalanche, I wiped off the seats and other surfaces. When I wiped the dash trim, I found a super large crack in the dash trim. A google search informed me that this was the most common complaint on this vehicle.  The very large one piece plastic dash trim was one inch away from being in two pieces.  When the auto detailer was cleaning the car, he would have noticed this, indeed, he actually spent some time repositioning the largest crack (crack is not a perfect term for this flaw. Imagine just a totally broken piece). He re-positioned the crack so that it was not plainly visible, and would not be until touched.  There was also battery issues when I returned home, but I had know the battery was old.  I am very disappointed with Vachon Chevrolet.  Yet, am I not the biggest fool to be trusting of a used car dealer? I had already signed papers and left a deposit, without getting any promise in writing.  Shame on me, yes, so don't shame yourself by buying from them. Trust nothing about them.  One other point.  After making my deal with Jeffrey (closer/loan man), Jeffrey grabbed my hand to shake and telling me that he didn't think much about Covid contact restrictions. He wasn't going to trust the government nor Big Pharma and sure wasn't going to get a vax. I can only assume that he also didn't care about Covid restrictions or that he might pass on a virus to me or other customers.  Shame that these people are so boastful about placing others in jeopardy.  When I picked up the vehicle, not one person was wearing a mask when I entered salesroom. Three people put them on, but the others did not. read more
