I would give this place 0 stars if it were an option. Had my oil changed here a few times. The last time they torqued the oil filter housing too tight and caused a leak. Prior to this oil change, I had no leaks. Post oil change, I notice a few huge oil spots in the driveway. I brought it to them to look at and was told it was the oil pan gasket. I asked for suggestions on where to take it. They suggested Sorels garage and gave me the address. I took it there and they put a UV dye in so they could see where the leak was coming from. I returned to Sorels for them to look at it and it's not the oil pan gasket, but the oil filter housing. Back and forth with Valvoline who keeps insisting it's the oil pan gasket even though I show Morgan (the manager) video of it leaking from above that point. File a claim with corporate. Fast forward to today after the housing was replaced and over $400 spent on said repair and they tell me the video was reviewed, my claim was denied, but they will pay half. Nope, they will pay 100% of the repair because there was NO oil leak prior to that last oil change. DONT GO HERE. First they tell me it's not the filter, then it was the filter and the oil pan gasket, then I bring it back after the repair and they acknowledge it's no longer leaking and they denied my claim but we will pay half. If they weren't in the wrong why would they offer to pay half? Because they are in the wrong and they F'd up my vehicle, now the area manager call me back. I will probably make the news because I will be back there tomorrow on the sidewalk telling all customers that pull in there NOT to get their oil changed there. read more

Beware of Valvoline Oil Danielson, CT, especially if you are a woman... I am local and have used this business for about 7 years. Last spring I noticed a change in managements approach looking to scam customers. I went in to the store last spring and the manager announced the car had synthetic oil in the engine last oil change, I told him it had conventional and I wanted to stay with conventional. The manager stated it was synthetic and I could not go back to conventional once synthetic was in the engine. I told the manager that was an old wives tale and asked who told him this and he stated Valvoline training. I stuck to my guns and demanded conventional oil. I SHOULD HAVE CUTS TIES WITH THIS BUSINESS HERE, SADLY I DID NOT! Last Monday I went in for an oil change before a road trip to Boston. I was sitting in the lobby when in walks the manager with a filter in hand held like a pizza. the manager showed it to a young mother. The filter had a layer of light dirt in a perfect circle, with intact leaves and segments of cigarettes. Here is the thing, the cigarettes were cut all the same length, were pristiine white and had not been lite. Now the cigarettes were a dead give away but the light dirt would have been blown all over the place on that filter. I immediately recognized something was wrong here and started asking questions. I spoke directly to the young mother, telling here they could knock all the dirt and other items from the filter and she could get one much cheaper than the 24.00$ Valvoline was charging and it was easy to replace. I also suggested she look on the internet and in her owners manual about the need for synthetic oil (conventional cost me 36.00$, they were charging her 100$ for the synthetic). The manager immediately got angry and he tried to stare me down. I meet his glare, but he said nothing and went out to the bay. i paid and by the time I got home my car was struggling to idile. I had driven the car all day, it was running fine. In addition the change oil light is still on and they did not put the air filter assembly back together. I strongly suspect they did something to my car, I am hoping they did not do and serious damage to my car. I am taking it to a family member today, hopefully they just cut a line to the vacuum advance or something simple as a warning. if you use this shop, they will hurt you if you cross them, please be warned, these are NOT GOOD PEOPLE!!!! read more

In response to Courtney's response at "Customer Care": These responses to customer complaints are NONSENSE. Complete and utter lip-service. Just wanted to make sure everyone knows that! I have already called those customer care numbers, corporate, etc. Corporate was quick to inform me that Valvoline's are INDEPENDENTLY FRANCHISED. A roundabout way of telling me they do not back their own name, or brand...in my opinion. GET YOUR OIL CHANGES DONE AT A DEALERSHIP (Bring a Toyota to a Toyota Dealer service department). IT'S MUCH SAFER, CHEAPER, AND MORE COMFORTABLE! This review (that I promised would be left) will be my only recompense. I reiterate...just stay away! read more

I brought my car in Monday morning for a basic oil change no engine light was on my car was running perfect . I get my maintenance done on the car every month to make sure I have no issues .... and now tell me why my head gasket is blown and I have had no mechanical problems what so ever I had the car less than 6 months !!!!! read more

So I brought my vehicle to Valvoline as usual for my 3k mile oil change. I was told to have a seat in their waiting area. I am diabetic and told them l was going across the street to eat before going into work today (I had less than an hour). He told me his boss wants people to sit and wait inside.. I stopped in for an oil change the other day. As soon as I walked in I was approached and told my truck required a special synthetic oil, Dexos1, and that because of that my oil change would cost at least $90. I'm sure based on the look on my face I was told I couldn't do it cheaper myself with that oil. I promptly left Valvoline, went to an auto parts store, bought VALVOLINE brand dexos1 oil, and VALVOLINE brand filter. Also since I hadn't done my own oil change for a while needed some supplies. I got all that for about half of what they were charging. Meaning for the LABOR of my oil change, it would cost more than an entire standard change, or roughly the equivalent to $200 an hour. I don't think I've ever met a nicer group of guys than the ones that work here. Sean especially is always so kind and greets me with a, "welcome back!" every time. Affordable services, no swindling, and excellent customer service. Wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Wish I could give it less than one star. Females beware of this place!!! Not only did I feel as though I was talked to in a creepy, weird, sing-songy way, but the technician also tried to tell me that my AC was "leaking green fluid all over the place". Since I did not ask them to search for any leaks using a dye I could not understand what this green fluid could be since freon is a gas...not a liquid. Then I thought...well maybe it's my coolant leaking out? Oh no he says..."this is definitely your AC, we can recharge it for you until you get it fixed"...I opted to not do that since I figured he was full of crap. Later that week I took my car for a coolant flush and had them check all of the hoses as well as the AC....low and behold there's nothing...not one thing...wrong with my car! Don't trust these people. read more

Went there for the second time today for an oil change . Was met at my car by Brian , one of the automotive techs which I believe is a positive . As I entered I met Sean a fine young man that set up my oil change and answered all my questions . I sat for about 15 minutes and Brian came in and showed me the clean dipstick from the new oil change , As far as I am concerned all is good . Sure they will offer recommendations . Its one perogative to accept or refuse . It doesn't meant they are trying to blind side you smh . They are in business to offer services and give suggestions ! read more

Quick easy service. I never feel pressure to replace or fix anything extra. Sometimes pricey without a coupon.

Just went in to get an oil change. They told me it would be 1 1/2 hours yo get my truck in. One lift was down and several people we ahead of me. The tech was unapologetic and unconcerned. Very unprofessional. read more
