    Color left around my nails

Horrible experience here today. I got a gel manicure and asked for a stripe pattern, to which my manicurist agreed. She did not take any care in prepping my nails, meaning she left a lot of my old color around the edges of my nails and did not shape my nails at all. When she finished the base coat, she attempted to do this stripe pattern, but it was possibly the worst attempt at stripes i've ever seen. I'm not upset that this woman could not do stripes, but that she accepted my request KNOWING she could not replicate my inspiration. So now i have a plain, patternless base color that I would not have chose otherwise, old color on the edges, uneven nails, and no refund!!!???? She attempted to fix the color at the edges and ended up filing off half the top coat on the nails she did paint. So so horrible. Cherry on top: these were supposed to be my special birthday nails.

It's been 5 days since I got my nails done. These are gel nails that were supposed to stay on for 3 weeks. My pointer finger nail completely peeled off out of no where. disappointed.

Beyond happy. Greeted with love and care. Natalia from Ukraine did my massage and it was an absolute blissful experience. She has the softest hands and is very skilled at what she does. Thank you N! I then had a wonderful relaxing cared for mani and pedi by Diana. She took her sweet time and really cared for my nails. I love them! TY Vada for a wonderful experience. I really really needed this.

Adriana's hard work! She's THE BEST!!

First time back since pre pandemic and I'm so glad my boyfriend got me a Groupon here. They fit me in for a mani pedi at 2pm on a Saturday no problem. Adriana was TOP NOTCH! 5 / 5 Very patient and effective! I'll be back specifically asking for Adriana!

This review is about their waxing and manicure service. Booking for the 2 services on separate occasions was a breeze and they follow up with a call / text as a reminder. This is my go-to spot for chocolate waxing. I found this place because of a Groupon deal and I kept coming back even if I had to pay full price because the service is phenomenal. I've tried other places and end up getting literally burned. The technicians here are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I snagged the Shellac Groupon to try their manicure services and tried it for the first time last night and. I loved how my nails came out (picked 2 colors to use, one on top of the other) and liked most of the experience. It would have been a 5-star experience if not for the tech buffing too near my left thumbs' nail bed it scraped some of my skin and also nipped too close it made 2 cuts (see photos). These were my major let down. I'm not too keen with the manicure services but will definitely be back for the waxing.

I went to Vada for a single process, cut & blow-out based on a groupon offer. Since I needed the service done the Sat before Mother's day, I called Vada to make the appointment first. They said they would honor the offer, but asked that I did not purchase through Groupon - I assume to save on the commission. On arrival I am told due to my long hair it would be $20 more for the cut & blow out. I was also told that the "single process" meant for roots only & mine were too long to qualify so it would be $65 more too. These extras doubled the cost. I was in a bind and said yes. Then it got worse. I was asked what color, and I said med brown cool/ash - no brass or red please. The tech started to mix without showing me a sample of the color or even bringing one over to match! I had to stop her and ask for it. Then it was an argument because she was going way too dark and picking a warm tone. I have been coloring for 30 years, I know how it works. The manager got involved - said the tech was matching to my darkest base for the root touch-up. I pointed out since I am now paying more for a "full single process", that should not matter. Manager agreed, tech went to mix the color I choose. Bottom line - She mixed the color I did not want. My hair is dark and very reddish! I noticed it during the blow-out but was told it was due to the lighting. Such BullShit. All day at the family party everyone commented on how red my hair is particularly on top. Now that I washed, it is even worse. Picture is an hour after I left the salon. Avoid this salon. It practices deceptive processes.

Very pleased with my first visit at Vada Spa. came here for a gel mani and reg pedi. I had an evening appointment but since I was free during the day, I called them to ask if they can accommodate me earlier and they took me in on such a short notice. Donna, my technician, was very experienced and gentle. Really liked her work! The salon is very clean and elegant. I will be coming back!

Came here for a last minute gel mani and regular pedi session on a Friday at around 1 pm. I only had to wait for about 10 minutes. They offered me water. I used the restroom and put my coat in the coat closet while I waited. Mayra did both my pedi and mani and she was amazing! You can tell she's been doing this for a while. She would keep going back and perfecting whatever needed to be adjusted, which I appreciate. I asked for a special design (see photo) and she was completely comfortable executing it. A LOT of places have a hard time doing something other than a basic French manicure, so I have to scour their review photos to see if they might be able to handle something like a cool ombre. Voila! They honored the current Groupon price of $40 for a gel mani and regular pedi + $15 for the special design + tax + tip (cash or Venmo directly to the technician). Their regular bottles were all Essie, which I don't love. You have to pay $5 extra for higher quality nail polish. Kind of silly, but so many places do this. The ladies working the front desk were also professional and very nice. Will come back.

    Two days later.

I came here a week ago for a shellac manicure. I purchased a groupon for an awesome price. I had the pleasure of having Lucia as a nail technician. She was very kind and took her time with my nails. She made sure she applied enough coats (four) so that my nails would look good. There was not anything out of place and my gel manicure was very neat. In the end, I wasn't crazy about the color I selected but that was a fault of my own lol. Next time, I'll try another color. No chips so far and it has been a week. If it starts chipping before two weeks, I'll update my review. Also, they were gracious and allowed me to start my appointment early. I really appreciated it. Seems like a solid nail salon. I'll definitely be back!

My review is for a consultation only. I'll explain…read more.. I was greeted warmly upon entering. Because they're located on Park Avenue, I kinda expected them to be snooty, lol. They really couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. I was assisted by Carlos who was cool as heck. I appreciate the fact that Carlos told me up front that the color in my tattoo would not come out (I have a 28 y.o. Nefertiti tat. Her crown is shaded in blue and there's also some red and green in her necklace). They could easily get the black ink out, but with the colors, the laser wouldn't be able to differentiate between the ink colors and my glorious melanin. So the laser might remove all of the color, including my glorious melanin, and leave me with a pale spot there (hypopigmentation). There's also be a possibility that the skin in that area would darken (hyperpigmentation). Carlos told me of a Complete Removal package for $1,790 where you go back every eight weeks (to give your skin time to heal in between treatments) until your tat is completely gone. I was also told of a $690 package...that I wasn't too interested in because, initially, I was going to take the Complete Removal package. Another Yelper has mentioned in their review of Removary that if the whole $1,790 is not used, you will be refunded the unused portion, which sounds awesome. I've decided to keep Queen Nefertiti with me. I came to that decision after watching videos of people with skin like mine share their stories. Before going in, I thought tattoo removal would be the same for all. If you Google, you'll see a lot of pics of tats completely removed from white skin with just a couple of Black folks sprinkled in. There's a reason for that. And the tats removed from Black skin are all black ink tats. If you're white, they can completely remove your tat; black AND colored ink. If you're Black, they can get black ink outta ya, but colored ink, not so much. There are a couple of videos on You Tube where Black gals have shared their tattoo removal stories. One in particular is very detailed and provides before and after photos. Here's the link.. https://youtu.be/g6vKaVDygi8 OH! I have to mention... There are a couple of videos on You Tube mentioning the PiQo4 and PicoSure lasers to completely remove tats from Black skin. However, those videos only make the claim. They do not show the results. After my consultation with Removary, I'd had another consultation at Disappearing Inc. Just for a consultation, they required a credit card number (if you cancel within 24 hrs, they charge you $50 for a weekday appt and $100 for a Saturday appt.) Once I was there, they also asked for I.D. When I asked what that was about, they gave me two excuses. Excuse #1: "it's for insurance purposes. We need to make sure the person who did their paperwork is the same as the one being treated." Do they really have THAT many people lying about who they are? Excuse #2: "It's just standard protocol because some choose to be treated during (the consultation)." Ok, but I never asked to be treated during mine.... Anywho, I prefer Removary because I didn't feel they were trying to bulls**t me. Nor were they condescending... Whoa, instead of talking about my dissapointing Disappearing Inc. experience here, lemme mosey on over to their page and leave it there. Anywho, if I had a recommend a tat removal spot, it would, hands down, be Removary!

Let me say this first and foremost- this is not your grandma's permanent eyeliner. This is so much more than that. Savannah is a complete and total artist. I was cursed with pale, thin lips that were uneven. Savannah has completely transformed them! They're beautiful now and I find myself not applying lipstick as much because I just love the way they look. Savannah numbs up your lips during the process and it was very easy. It wasn't painful and during the second session I think I napped a tiny bit. It's so natural looking too that I almost forgot what a difference there was until I saw a before and after. My boyfriend even asked what I had done and then I showed him the photo and he was amazed! The healing process was very easy and fast. I think I was fully healed in a week. Yes they peel but just get some aquaphor and apply apply apply! The perk of this is your lips will be ridiculously soft after they heal. I don't think my lips have ever been in better shape? For those of who get injections - I had been getting lip injections for awhile and Savannah told me it would be ok to get lip blush done six weeks after my injections. I received an email and a text message with a GOOGLE chat link. I was given the option to conduct the consult via phone with no video. At around 1030, I received a phone call from Melissa Gonzalez. I informed her that I wanted a small tattoo removed. She asked me basic pedigree information and asked why I wanted it removed. She asked me to send her a photo while we were on the phone. I sent her the photo. She then provided me a quote, which she stated was the Memorial Day special and a discount for being a first responder. She tells me I can pay the full amount or enroll in a payment plan. I informed her that I would pay in full at the appointment. She told me she had an appointment for 1300 on May 31, 2024. I confirm the appointment time. She sends me a link to fill out the paperwork. The paperwork requests my Name, DOB, address, and e-mail, and then the next page is an in-depth medical history questionnaire asking you everything about medications, illnesses, medical conditions, and prior surgeries. I answered every question, e-signed it, and sent it back. Melissa stayed on the phone with me the entire time I filled out the application. When I completed and submitted it, she said that I would receive an FT link to speak with the Nurse practitioner. A few minutes later, I received an FT Telemedicine call from Allison Jaggard, NP. The call was very brief. She asked me about allergies to medication and a prior surgical procedure. When we concluded the call, I sent Melissa a message asking if I was confirmed for the appointment. She responded that I wasn't and said she would call me when she was done with a patient. She calls me back, and asks how the appointment went. Afterwards I again ask her if I am confirmed for May 31. She tells me that I have to PAY IN FULL BEFORE I CAN SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT! I never had a face-to-face meeting, never went to the office, and never met with anyone in the office, and she told me that appointments are only scheduled AFTER payment is received in full. So they expect someone to send them 800 dollars without even having a face-to-face meeting. At any point during the conversation, she could have informed me that payment was required beforehand, and SHE DID NOT! I messaged Melissa that I would NOT be scheduling an appointment. I asked her to delete my personal information and medical history, and she responded, "It is illegal for us to delete that information. It will not be used for anything besides your history shall you decide to have treatment." I called another laser removal place and asked if I had to make a payment upfront. The response was, "Why would we ask you for a payment, and we haven't even physically seen you to assess you"?
