I went to Vale Nails to get my nails done for my wedding day and left with a set that was so far from what I actually wanted. For one of the most photographed days of my life, I was hoping for an experience where I felt listened to, and that is not what I got. After showing the nail techs my nail inspo, they told me to get French tips. I tend to avoid conflict, and I tried more than once to gently explain that I already wear French tips on a regular basis, so I did not want them for my wedding day. I wanted something that felt different and special. The more I asked though, it seemed like the technicians did not actually know how to do the designs I was asking for. That is when it started to click for me that the pushback was less about preference and more about skill level. To make things worse, the techs needed to move on to their next appointment before I was actually happy with my nails, which made the experience feel even more rushed. There was no chance to slow down, talk through options, or really feel cared for. It was far from a spa like experience. I ended up walking out with squared French tips with silver nail polish, which was far from the inspiration pics I showed them. My cuticles were also cut too deep on both my hands and my feet. I paid more to get my nails redone at another salon because of how unhappy I was with how far off my nails were compared to my inspo pics. read more

A little upset after my most recent visit. I said I wanted a pointier nail (I type a lot and they dull down) and she refused to do it and showed me my first nail that was completely round. I said no, I wanted something more pointed. She hesitated and tried again. Showed me again and still not pointy enough so she tried again. She showed me a third time and I was defeated and said it was fine because she very clearly didn't want to do the shape I wanted. Unsure if she couldn't do it or didn't want to. I requested that she not file under my nail as I didn't want my natural nail to get filed down with the drill and she said that my nail would be thicker. I let her know that's fine but I didn't want damage to my natural nail and she questioned why the gel was on it anyway. We went back and forth for a few minutes and she finally gave up and was upset that I didn't give in. I got ombré done and honestly it looks like two colors divided. It isn't a smooth transition like I've received in the past. They are all different lengths. Fairly bummed as Evgenia has a lot of great reviews and is a top tech and instructor. It felt rushed, and the second coat was applied too quickly without enough drying time between layers. When she accidentally touched one nail, it smudged and felt soft like dough. She redid it the same way, and that's when I finally set a 5-minute timer myself for her The drying drops also didn't seem to be applied properly, because by the next day I could already see dots, lines, and uneven texture on my nails. I paid $80 for a very basic regular polish manicure with no extras like massage or moisturizer, so I expected much better quality. I went to them 4 times and while I probably won't be back, I would recommend them to you if you want a simple, no design added manicure, although it is pricey, they do a great job when it comes to caring for the health of your nails and cuticles and in application. In the 3rd photo I gave the lady an inspo pic and she confidently confirmed she could do it, she tried her best but you could tell she didn't have the skills to do art. The final straw for me is the results from the 4th pic I wanted ombré nails with chrome (fairly simple, they teach you how to do ombré nails in cosmetology school) but that's how they turned out... I ended up coming back the next day and just getting one solid color. Mind you each set is at least 100 dollars and to add even chrome is 25, which is insane to me. I think they need to work on being more upfront and honest about whether or not they are capable of doing simple designs so that the customer isn't having their time and money wasted. Again I will not be giving them any more of my money but that doesn't mean they don't offer a great manicure, I just love a cute design and they haven't been able to do that. read more

The stylist over- filed the free edges off my nails, to make an oval shape, but it ended up as a crooked pointy almond. I booked a manicure with gel French tips for a wedding, and it was my first time trying a Russian manicure. The salon itself was very clean, with a nice ambiance, and I appreciated that the instruments were in sterilized pouches. However, after just 12 days, the gel on my index finger peeled off completely without me even noticing. I contacted the salon and was told their warranty is only 7 days, but they agreed to redo it for free. By the day of my appointment, another nail had already peeled off, which was very disappointing since gel manicures are normally very durable. I had expected Russian gel polish to be even stronger, but this was the weakest experience I've had. When I arrived, I showed my technician the two nails that had peeled. She didn't speak English, so her coworker translated. Her explanation was that maybe my nails weren't suitable for this kind of gel--which didn't make sense, since I've had gel polish many times before without issues. I also asked if she could reinforce the base of my other nails, since they looked like they might start peeling soon, but she said she didn't understand and didn't have time to redo them. In the end, I decided to remove all the gels because I didn't want them peeling one by one. There wasn't a manager available to address my concerns either, and the technician had to call someone else just to understand me. Overall, while the salon is clean and looks professional, my experience with the service and durability of the manicure and their customer satisfaction was very disappointing. read more
