One of the absolute best experiences I think I've ever had in a restaurant! My husband and I were passing through Scarsdale on our way home from a weekend in Rhinebeck. It was about 1pm and we had read that they were mostly known for their nightlife, so we were the only ones there dining for lunch. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very polite and friendly. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli w/ Asparagus and my husband ordered the Burger w/ Fries. Before our mains came out, the chef made us complimentary bruschetta with heirloom cherry tomatoes and Burrata. It was exceptional! And what a very nice thing of them to do! Our meals came out and were perfect. I've never seen ravioli so stuffed and the sauce was so delicious. My husband's burger was medium rare with cheddar, bacon, onions, and a really nice fig jam that added the perfect touch of sweetness. He had asked that his fries be well done and they were perfect as well. Overall, wonderful experience and delicious food. met our friends here tonight for a great dinner. really cute bistro here was nice and quite. great sound boards help u have a great convo. ordered general Sals cauliflower was ok. little over done nice fresh crisp salad. i ordered sausage and broccoli rabe with risotto. it was ok. little too dry for me. but wasn't bad buddy ordered a salmon. it looked really good. nice crispy skin. wife ordered short ribs with polenta she loved it. short ribs very tender. couple of desserts. long 3 hour dinner and the owner didn't rush us at all. meter parking across the street. waitstaff very attentive. prices not bad. all in all it was a great dinner. was t blown away by the food read more

Came to eat at this establishment for a birthday buy out party. The menu was extensive (not sure if that's how it was for all buy outs but I love how many options were available). I am also not sure if the menu is available during regular hours but after my meal I certainly hope so! I myself for my first course ordered the soup of the day which was butternut squash soup. It was so velvety and creamy and with squash being in season, the perfect amount of sweetness. For my second course I ordered the pumpkin gnocchi with cognac cream sauce. I loveee gnocchi and the texture of it. It's like chewy clouds of pasta. I love how sauces coat the gnocchi and this sauce was amazing!!! Pumpkin makes for a great pasta sauce! For dessert I got the chocolate brownie. You can never go wrong with a warm brownie. I have yet to meet a brownie I didn't like. My mother got the mixed green salad, the branzino and the apple strudel. I got a nibble of each (for sake of my review). The salad had all the perfect components of a salad. Sweetness from the cranberries, creaminess from the goat cheese, nuttiness from the pecans, the caramelized sweetness from the squash and of course the tartness from the dressing. As for the branzino, the skin on the fish was nice and crispy and perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The veggies were perfect as well. We have been coming to 808 since it opened 15+ years ago. Chef Sal never disappoints. They are super accommodating with special requests and their menu is extensive, but thoughtful, so you know every dish will be as delicious as the next. We recently hosted a dinner party there for nearly 30 people from 8-80 years of age. They gave us half the restaurant (it's small-ish but well laid out) and the service was outstanding. Every one of our guests was literally RAVING about the food. The kids had "kid friendly" options as well as the "adult" choices available to them. We had spills, late arrivals, and picky eaters. Every one of them was pleased and STUFFED! Truly a seamless and stress free event for us as the hosts. Cannot recommend 808 Bistro enough. Ample street parking. Check meters or signs for parking times and prices-- they do ticket frequently on that road. Thank you to Sal and team! A neighborhood gem that's a privilege to enjoy! The restaurant has a very old New England feel to it. When you walk up it looks like a house and the inside feels like you are in an old English tavern--but a very classy and upscale one. The place is fairly dim and you would need a bright torch to see the menu BUT FOR the menu being on iPads that they hand you. Can anyone say cool beans? Well it was very cool. Also, too, sort of required given the spartan lumens cast by the in-house lights. Although the piped in music was subdued and did not seem too loud to me-- i really could not hear or be heard altogether well. I had to repeat myself numerous times over the course of dinner. In fact, once or twice, had to repeat myself more than twice to the point where i decided it would be better for all involved if i just didn't bother to go for the trifecta. The wait staff was extremely pleasant and professional--maybe a hair slow--but dutiful, diligent and attentive. They never asked if we wanted our diet sodas refilled. NOTE THAT YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR BREAD a/t menu. The chicken thigh and apple appetizer was very delicious. The chicken was not dry, the cranberry sauce was delish and silt smooth. The applies were cosmopolitan but fine. Overall was very good. The Chicken Scarpariello dish was well-prepared, with tender pieces of chicken on the bones (half a chicken) paired with flavorful sausage, spicy peppers, and a tangy sauce with a kick. Proportions of chicken, sausage potatoes and peppers were just right--albeit i thought the relative amount of peppers was a little light and-- for some, might be considered parsimonious. The chicken was slightly dry but not unpleasantly so. The potatoes were a perfect 10 and cooked to perfection. The sausage might have been a little more tender but it was just fine as it was. Peppers were a perfectly cooked. Anyways, the place is small so make sure you make reservations, and try the chicken thigh appetizer and/or Chicken Scarpariello..they both were rather good. 808 heartbreak. Minus the break. Full on the heart. A few yesteryears ago I part and took in a night time meal with my companion. It has been a long time now. I am an elder man. White hair does not trickle the greasy cheeks of my curdling cranium, but symbolically I'm a grey haired grandfather. I've yet to birth a child, and yet spiritually I have many a grandchildren and am nearing the achievement of great grandchildren. I naturally stumble around with a limp, and so physically maybe it's not outlandish to begin roaming around my nearest retirement homes with a cane to enchant the me I am to be. As my short term memory fades, my long term memory strengthens. Unlike an ox, but moving towards elephant status. I somehow still recall my night on the town, at this bistro... under the table and over the moon, if you grasp that, gaffer. A bilaterally late birthday celebration on a breezy night. Winds that reached a barometer spectrum, forcing me to duck then dodge, left handed jab twice and knock a couple righty hooks in order to cross the street of the vital village that is Garth Road, passed the tumbling train, and by the grumbly gas station off of the main strip. Local? All towns are my towns. Keep up or keep out. Kapu! We entered an ominously and unexpectedly emptied bee stro. I knew the caliber of the Ortsib and knew no need for worry. To no surprise, my semi-faked knowledge was believed and accurate. I convinced myself, once I do that, I can convince the world. Now, don't ask me how. Never ask me how. Don't ever doubt me again you smugshot back blazer. I will destroy you. Anyways... don't ask me how but I can retrace our entire order without pictures all these years later. My neutron and electron and proton blasted photography belly of a brain sits me back in a seat, back to the window. Dark room. Hung wired lights lamped and lumped along the top of the wall across the dining room. Lowish chair met by a fine sized table. Hard to read the menu. My eyesight is failing me now and was failing me then. My night vision is poor, I am a weak feeble old man at heart what would you have expected? The specials menu was read aloud but honestly was dainty and disappointing. So, we went for some classics. Short rib over polenta and little bolognese over da pappadelllll. Both were very well done dishes if my miraculous memory serves me as well as the ever famous Forrest Gump served his country. The service was slow and I a both old and grumpy thinking about it. We got something weird like Brussels sprouts for an app, no cap was a flap on our part. Still tasted good, but ya don't ask for a fight in the hood. We finished it off with a flourless cake even though I begged for the famous strudel. Either I was overruled or they were out of it. I actually think they were not doing it that day. Makes my hands rub with anger. My nails melt as my teeth grind, my body hits the floor in a below parallel, tuche to ground squat with my hand held high #ThotAlert . Anyways it was a solid 4/5 experience. Would do it again. If you called it a 5 I could believe it. Everyone is free to believe as they'd like in this country. On Yelp, sometimes I cross that line of firm stances, but this Bistro is open for interpretation. And I don't speak braille so how bout we turn these lights on at night when it hits fall? I saw where this place had been given a good review so I decided to try it. I am giving two stars because of the food only. The Bad. The food was not good AT ALL!!!! I ordered a crab cake appetizer and the entire bottom of the crab cake was burnt so I ate off the top of the crab cake and left the burnt bottom. I ordered angel pasta with shrimp and chicken and not only was the chicken burnt but it left a burnt aftertaste in my mouth after I ate a piece of it. To make matters worse, the angel hair pasta tasted burnt because of the burnt chicken and the sauce tasted like canned Chef Boyarde. It even had that thickness in consistency too. As I'm writing this my stomach is hurting from that encounter. The Good. The location is beautiful, quaint, intimate, and engaging. Love, love, love it. The crab cake appetizer is all crab, no filler, and it was pretty decent had it not been burnt. After telling the waiter about how awful and burnt the chicken was he removed it from my bill. This happens to be my husband and my favorite restaurant. We suggested it to our children for their Wedding Dinner which was a small, intimate gathering of the people they love the most in the world. I hadn't been here in a couple of years. Came to dinner on Saturday night and really enjoyed the experience. As appetizers we shared eggplant rollotini and generalTso's cauliflower. The flavoring was delicious. The veal chop. Pollard was pounded and cooked with cherry peppers. For veal chop paesano was pounded and served with mushrooms and brown gravy. I went for one of the specials, which was linguine with white clam sauce. my dish of linguine was topped with a dozen clams. The linguine was done perfectly on the clams enhanced the flavor of the white clam sauce. For dessert we had 808 apple strudel, which came with vanilla ice cream. I enjoyed pushing the ice cream on top of, the heated apple strudel and delicious Lee enjoyed my dessert. I won't wait years to return. read more

Great little place. If you're looking to go on the weekend get a reservation. We went to 808 to celebrate an occasion. Our server Nelson(?), was great. You can tell he's been doing this for years, he is infallible. We came armed with a 20% off coupon, only to told it doesn't work on the prefix menu. However, the Braised Boneless Short Rib caught my eye. My wife wanted the sole dish. So it was going to prefix for us. Ordered a bottle of wine. Had lipstick on the glass. I'm not the lipstick wearing type, and it was definitely not my color. However, these things do happen. The bus boy replaced the glass, but threw out the baby with the bath water. Never fear, waiter swoops in, and tops us off generously with a new bottle. First course was Carnitas tacos and Butternut Squash Soup. It was pure comfort food and we devoured them Braised Boneless Short Rib was amazing. I left scorched marks on my plate My wife's Filet of Sole as so good. Made a reservation for Saturday at 8 pm for me and my family and I specified several times the reservation was for outdoors because one of my family members are high risk and do not dine indoors ,the person on the phone said no problem , I even called to confirm and mentioned again outdoors and they said no problem come over . We walked over from my sisters coop for 20 min and arrived ,I go inside to tell them we arrived for our 8:15 reservation and a very rude man told me "sorry no outdoors , our outdoor server left already " I said I called twice and both times mentioned OUTDOOR seating and everything seemed good to go . Awesome dining experience at 808. Came here on 12/18/22 to celebrate with friends and family. The food was a hit. Everything was fresh and delicious, service is excellent and ambience is beautiful. They offer a great wine and cocktail selection The garlic bread tower is amazing and nothing like I've tasted before. Must gets: bang bang shrimp, fried calamari, lamb chops, truffle lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese. No matter how full I was I couldn't stop picking at the food. Having dined at 808 over the years for numerous celebrations, they never disappoint. The menu's selections are always creative, fresh, delicious, well thought out and beautifully plated. This evening we were here for their Thanksgiving pre-fixe supper. Reservations are strongly recommended. Set in a corner townhouse, the room is intimately warm and inviting. We are always greeted by the hostess upon entering each time like old friends. The service staff are consistently efficient and friendly. I hope the next time the servers are more attentive. Waited over 5 minutes just to put in a drink order and had to wave down the server in order to do it. The menu is electronic and not very descriptive regarding cocktails or food. Apps were good the entree was ok. It's a cozy space not sure why the servers seem overwhelmed and unenthusiastic. Went here for a work birthday brunch on a Sunday afternoon. The food was mediocre and we were 1 of 3 families in the restaurant. The crab cake Benedict is not an actual crab cake, it is a pile of crab with egg on top. My boss ordered a drink & was brought a different one because the waiter assumed "she'd like it better". She did not like it better. Also for her crab cake Benedict she asked for the egg to be cooked hard. It came out still soft and when she asked for it to be cooked some more the server said "it is hard" and reluctantly took it back. Someone else ordered a burger which was good and the kids meals were huge portions and unremarkable. They could work on listening to their customers and suggesting things but not arguing with the customers on their choices. read more

Mother's Day disaster. We had been to 808 on numerous occasions before deciding to have our Mother's Day family dinner there. We've always enjoyed the food and the service. My sister had called to make the reservation and was told at the time that they would have the regular menu for the holiday. That, was not the case. When we got there we were presented with a Prix Fixe menu, that looked appetizing and included an appetizer, main and dessert for $60. The food however was a different thing. Appetizers were just okay but VERY SMALL portions. 2 scallops, a small portion of Buratta, a couple of coconut shrimp. The main courses we're terrible. I order lamb chops and they came pounded, breaded and fried dry. Who does that to a lamb chop? They were not described that way on the menu. The Halibut and the Chicken Cordon Bleu was dry as a bone and tasteless. We would have sent it all back but it had taken forever to get the food. Dessert was just weird. The Napolean was a crust of something with whipped cream on top, the apple tart was overcooked, and the flan was tasteless. This was just an awful experience overall and after a $700 bill (drinks, tax, tips included) we will never go back there again. read more

My wife and I had the great pleasure of having dinner here a couple of weeks ago. I've seen this place on Yelp but never really knew where it was being that I live around Scarsdale village. I accidentally passed by this place so I made reservations . The 808 Bistro is a former large home converted into a warm and cozy restaurant. Linda greeted us-at the entrance and I was immediately impressed by the vibe. For appetizers, we had the beef and veal meatballs which were arguably one of the best appetizers I've had in months . They're addictively delicious. I had their seafood pasta dish which I savored for a while due to the potpourri of various shell fish combinations. Wow, I was in Seafood pasta bliss. My wife had their roasted pork which she attempted to complete but she was too full. We took it home and I had it for breakfast . In addition to their stellar service and delicious food, 808 Bistro has superb menu choices. This is the type of place that you can close your eyes and let your fingers land on your food choice. I had a wonderful lunch there during restaurant week. We started off with the chicken tacos and the brussels sprouts. The chicken tacos were extremely flavorful and very fresh. I was really impressed at how good the guacamole, pico de gallo and tortillas were. Obviously homemade. Now for the Brussels sprouts... They were the most amazing charred brussels sprouts I've ever had in my life! Talk about crispy, these were extremely crunchy, posed on top of a truffle ricotta-honey masterpiece! Just perfect. For the entrée, we got sole Francese with spring vegetables, and chicken capriosa. The sole was just delicious in a citrusy lemon sauce. Excellent! The chicken was accompanied with a nice arugula salad, red onion, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. It was so juicy, I was shocked. Usually grilled chicken breast is like rubber, but not this chicken!It was very well marinated and very tender. For dessert, we ordered the white chocolate bread pudding, with a raspberry coulis . It was amazing! My bloody Mary was great, the wine was very good, and the service was excellent. Overall, it was a wonderful lunch. They had great Covid safety measures. I met my mother here for lunch before we both headed to run some errands. She had been to 808 before with good things to say so I was excited to try it out for myself. Located close to the main Scarsdale village and the Metro North, 808 almost looks like an hold home from the outside. That all changes inside where the interior has a fresh, modern aesthetic. The restaurant is small but has a open feel with large windows in the front. The color scheme filled with lots of silvers, blacks, and greys keep it modern with a small bar in the back as a nice focal point. The cuisine is mostly New American with a nice variety of apps, mains, pastas, and salads. They have a prix fixe option for lunch but I wasn't feeling any of their desserts so I ordered off the regular menu. I started with the pineapple cucumber gazpacho. The soup was pretty good - the pineapple and cucumber gave it a refreshing twist and it was served in a martini glass which gave it a sharp look. I still prefer tomato-based gazpacho but this was a nice change. For my main I decided to go with a wrap - mine contained grilled chicken, tomato, lettuce, goat cheese, and balsamic. The wrap was pretty good - all the ingredients spoke to me and to have them all wrapped together was a treat. I decided to go with fries as my side - they were lightly seasoned and the perfect portion. Service was lukewarm - for the most part it was fine though after we were served dessert our server disappeared. I can imagine a lot of Westchester moms like to sit here for a while and talk, but this Bronx mom and son had places to go and wanted to get our check! Overall however, 808 is a solid spot in Scarsdale. While I don't feel it's a destination spot, they serve solid food in a cool atmosphere. read more

A pleasure to discover this delightful fusion eatery in Scarsdale. Intimate room, plentiful service with a smile and knowledgeable waiters who will recommend the best dishes for you. We started with butternut squash soup which was surprisingly rich and creamy, along with the cauliflower- a little heavy perhaps but still tasty. Main course: simple linguini Fra diavolo (made to order) and I had the pork with mashed potato - which was just superb - remarkably tasty - similar to Osso bucco - tender and sweet. We also began with a decent dirty Vodka Martini cocktail and ended with sambuca in espresso and the chocolate cake - definitely returning as Linda and family made us so very welcome and all the staff were so pleasant.
