    The delicious patty melt
    Amy P.

I had such a nice lunch here. The waitresses are fabulous, very nice and efficient. I ordered a patty melt which was tasty, really crispy and delicious. My friend ordered the Asian salad which was beautiful to look at, and had an extremely tasty peanut dressing, sliced oranges, Red cabbage and delicious tender strips of chicken. my Malibu Baybreeze was delicious and strong! it was a peaceful lunch as we sat back and watched the golfers putting. I definitely recommend.

I came in after playing 9 holes of golf and was mightily parched. The frosty Diet Coke and water was most appreciated! Service was slightly sluggish but ok. The nachos we're great. Served piping hot with perfect proportions of chili, cheese and chips! They were crispy too not soggy. Plentiful portions too!!! I was by myself and was super lucky to snag a seat by the outdoor patio TV. I played 9 holes of golf and was embarrassingly bad BUT--guess what? Since I snagged the twilight special, I got a 10 dollar voucher and my entire meal--sans tip, was $3.00. Check out picture. Uhhh....the 1960s called and wanted this lucky diner to not forget to write his review.

For a distinctly modest setting -- a county golf course -- the lunch food and service are darn good.

Our server was so friendly and welcoming. They are clearly creating an environment meant for the whole family. They are truly catering to the community. They have good happy hour specials and we were told kids (I think under 12) eat free on Sundays, and I can say we will definitely go back with the small human. Like I said, the menu is a little all over the place. It's definitely meant for comfort, but it was kind of hard to tell what direction it was meant to be. We got cocktails and they were great. Definitely had a southern, down home kind of vibe. We started with the nachos and soup of the day which was New England clam chowder. Both apps were great. The soup was really hearty. It's not always my favorite because when not done well, I really don't like it, but their New England clam chowder was truly exceptional. Nachos were loaded up and really good. For mains we got the BBQ duo of chicken breast and ribs. The chicken really was just chicken breast with bbq sauce on it, so nothing special but at least cooked well. The ribs were tender. We also got rigatoni rustico, which sounded more interesting than it was (it had a creamy Dijon sauce, which is what prompted us to order it, but the Dijon was hard to taste). That being said, it was still very nice. Overall, the menu was a little all over the place. It might be better if they picked a direction (definitely seemed geared more southern) and focused on whittling down the menu. If I could give half stars, I would give them a 4.5, but I'm rounding up to a 5 for exceptional service and a great vibe for the entire family. They're really aiming to serve their community and I love that.

The blue cheese and celery were classic touches done right. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich hit all the right notes -- juicy breast, crispy coating, honey mustard that actually had flavor, and the bacon/swiss combo sealed the deal. Fries were solid, nothing special but cooked well. The Shotgun Shrimp Flatbread was a fun surprise -- spicy, cheesy, and loaded with shrimp tossed in that sriracha aioli. A little messy, but worth it. Service was friendly and the food came out hot. Not a five-star, but definitely a spot I'd come back to for wings and a sandwich.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

They have updated the bar and the dining room. The wood is lighter. The bar doesn't smell like old beer any more. We get there at 11:30. By noon, there's already a long wait. Service is friendly. The chicken wings are a top three rendition. We always order ours crispy. They stopped serving celery on the side a while ago. As a purist, I bring a ziplock bag of celery sticks. I say raise the price of an order of wings by 50 cents and serve celery again! The waffle fries are great. They have a surprisingly diverse menu with a big selection of beers. There are desserts, but I have never been disciplined enough to save room. It's cash only. This is the platonic ideal of a burger and wing joint. Set the celery sticks free!

Service very good, prices comparable to other wing places. I asked my waiter how many pounds they sold on Super Bowl Sunday. He mentioned "between 18 and 19 thousand pounds!!!" Wow, double wow. Vast majority are ordered in advance and this year they cut off orders about a week before the game. This trip was a solo run for me. My wingmen were nowhere to be found. 4 very sloppy stars

Every one of them was pleased and STUFFED! Truly a seamless and stress free event for us as the hosts. Cannot recommend 808 Bistro enough. Ample street parking. Check meters or signs for parking times and prices-- they do ticket frequently on that road. Thank you to Sal and team! A neighborhood gem that's a privilege to enjoy!
