This place is always happening, but Tuesdays are the most fun for me because they have musical bingo every Tuesday. It's a different theme every week , and the crowd is always happening , singing and dancing to the songs . The food is not bad , definitely a bar where everyone knows everyone and makes you feel at home .

You know those swinging saloon doors in old western movies where the cowboy makes that entrance and the folks inside stare at you up and down? Or how about Twilight Zone's opening theme music we thought of when we first walked in this pub on Main St in Dobbs Ferry? It's all good. This also strikes as a Cheers reboot- because everyone knows your name.....that is, if you're a regular. Doubleday's has a classic pub design with lots of woods and brass handles. There's plenty of seating to choose from: regular tables in one dining area, high-top seating on another and the main bar action in the middle. We chose a table. We skipped appetizers and went straight for drinks and main plates. My thin, gingery-soy glazed salmon had nice taste and the load of buttery string beans they pass of as 'vegetables' (I was expecting a medley) were a terrific side and hubs liked his medium NY Strip with these puffy crinkle fries. He would've looooved his steak if it had more char after requesting it several times. But in true pub fashion, it was my Lemon Drop that had all the signs and taste of a powerful pour. Hubs enjoyed his pint. Even for our first-time, the atmosphere is invitingly lively and service was fantastic all around. If you're still wondering, pub hospitality is all here.

You know for some reason I thought I had already reviewed this place right after my first visit. But that was a year and some change ago. Guess not. This place is a bar. Bar food, bar ambiance, bar stool. Bar service, bar everything, everyone, everybody... but Customer service...top tier. God like Bathroom.... Clean ANDREW the waiter and service/bar dude: HE WAS AWESOME THE FOOD. Even though I ordered a breaded chicken cutlet wrap and about 60% of it tastes like vegetables nothing wrong with it but I did expect a BIT MORE MORE MEAT. I LIKE BALANCED MEALS YA KNOW...Overall the food was made with good quality customer service ! Especially with my extra condiments because y'all know I'm a sauce guy aka extra chipotle mayo on everything. THE FRIES WERE CRIPS (these are the new fries they debuted whenever they did) because last I remember they had shoestring and waffles... BUT THESE GOD TIER THICK CRINKLE CUT FRIES.... omg....... I also ordered a side salad to balance everything out with extra red onions (red onions on anything is BETTER) remember that. Overall my first time last year was good. My second or third time today was good and comforting.. Please support the locals ! And drink responsibly (I don't drink)

Everything you want your local dive to be. Great down-home clientele. Hostess was exceptionally friendly. Bartender was a kind, lovely guy. NYC prices. We didn't eat, but the food looked great. Standard bar fare. We'll be back to try it out again!

Another wonderful lunch. Starter off with the mussels in a creamy marinara sauce. Mussels were huge and delicious. The sauce was so tasty, rich and creamy. The bread that accompanied it was nicely seeded and crisp. As an entree, I got the crabcake sandwich and my friend got a turkey burger minus the bun. The turkey burger was very tasty, with a nice salad on the side. I loved the crabcake sandwich, which was crisp on the outside and just perfectly made on a toasted roll.. another tasty lunch here! We will be back.

Great food (their burger is one of the best around.) Friendly staff. The beer garden is fantastic, has a fireplace in the winter.

The hostess asked us if we could go by 4 which honestly I love the honesty and the ability to try and work with us. I said absolutely we have to catch a movie. It was 3 pm at the time. We got out by 3:47 could have been earlier even but we were waiting for the check. Service was really good though. Ambiance is great in there. I used to exclusively go here only in spring and enjoy the outdoor space. I've gone multiple times now in winter. They have nice flowers and art inside which is very nice to enjoy. For food we got the stuffed Sicilian, delicious. Then for entrees we got the pasta your way. We did penne alla vodka and added a crispy chicken cutlet. Their cutlets are nice and thin and crispy. Fantastic. Out guests really enjoyed and we will be back.

My friend and I stopped by La Lanterna on April 12, 2026 during a long bike ride for lunch. We…read moredidn't have bike locks with us, so I went inside to ask the manager, Bill, if we could leave our bikes in the (closed) patio area since we were worried about them being stolen. Unfortunately, he was extremely dismissive and simply said no, then added that there were no tables available for us--which was odd considering the group right after us got seated immediately. I'm not sure if it was how we were dressed or what, but his overall attitude felt very cold and unwelcoming. We ended up sitting at the bar, and to be fair, Bill did help coordinate with the bartender Ana to get us seats together, which I appreciated. Ana herself was kind and attentive, though when we asked for food recommendations, she mostly just said "everything is great." I personally prefer a bit more honest guidance. For food, we shared the Hot Honey Roni Sicilian, Caesar salad, and calamari fritti. The pizza was definitely the highlight--super delicious and satisfying, especially as my first time trying that style. The Caesar salad was good, but for $16, I found the portion a bit small. The calamari was also solid, though we didn't love the sauce it came with. While we were eating, Bill noticed where we had placed our bikes (near the stairs where we could keep an eye on them) and came over rather abruptly, asking why they were in "his garden." Even after my friend apologized, he just walked away. His overall presence throughout the visit really hurt the experience--definitely not the kind of hospitality you expect. Overall, the experience was okay. The drinks were good, and my friend and I always make the best of things, but for the price point (about $80 each with two drinks and tip), I expected better service and slightly more generous portions. I'd consider going back, especially if we're biking in the area again--but next time, we'll definitely bring bike locks...and avoid the garden

Decent amount…read moreof people for a rainy Saturday, and they definitely have a cool setup with lots of seafood references without it being overbearing. Service was very friendly. Big menu even if you have non-seafood eaters. They definitely have the cool factor down pat, and are very welcoming. Beer list was decent, with some good options include from Finback, and also a great looking drink menu (was too early in the day). The food? Just alright. Got a Connecticut lobster roll on the waiter's recommendation. It had plenty of lobster even though it was a small piece of bread (they promise 1/4 lb). They used primarily claw which can be a good thing, although in my case it's not my favorite part; for a lobster roll I love when it's a mix of all of the lobster, with my favorite part being the knuckles. The meat was good quality, however there is very little butter and only some chopped scallions. Read: bland. Plus it came with a small bag of Lay's plain chips. For $30, I expect better than that. My son's fries were alright (also bland), however my wife's half chicken with corn looked great. Would come again however not rushing back. Pretty expensive for something that didn't come close to 'wow'. They seem to have good ingredients, so it's just a matter of elevating them a bit better. More style than substance right now.

There is a large municipal parking lot next door which is a big benefit. The service can best be described as "casual" but caring. I guess the surprise for me was the wide menu selections, fair pricing and food quality. I had fried clams to start and a very good burger afterwards. The place was full of families and kids. Dessert was also very good. I think this is the right combination for a location such as Hastings but kudos to the management team for matching the right restaurant to the right location.

A local place on the corner of main street that lacks night life, ok granted it was a Wednesday…read morenight. The centerpiece of this restaurant in my opinion is the beautiful horse shoe shaped bar in the middle of the restaurant. I typically enjoy a nice clean and clear bar so you can fall into the feeling of the restaurant and see what is happening all around. This bar had bottles of wines lining the bar, in my opinion I would remove the bottles and allow for a more open feel. Personally I felt that the bottles created a barrier between me and the bar tender. The outside tables are tables typically for 2 or 4 people with banquet seating and then chairs. Oh, my God How's this boy treating you? Very good wonderful started The service was attentive but not over bearing which created a relaxed feeling.. I was looking for a wine and cheese bar for a night our for myself. I wanted a place that I have not been to before and yelp directed me here Wines on Aug range from 15 and up for a glass which is not outrageous in price. They had a nice selection of wines and I stepped out of ny own comfort zone of a cab and tried the house Pinot Noir accompanied by the B6 board. Overall I was satisfied with the meat and cheese selection and baguette that was served with it had a nice oil on it. Presentation was well done with one exception in my mind, the breads ticks came in a package. Presentation factor went down with that. Take one of the small wife carafe used to serve the wine and present it in that. Overall I felt something was missing but could not put my finger on it. Overall this place has a great date night vibe.
